Dolly's Tea Rooms & Cafe in Strabane

Have been to dolly’s on several occasions. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed. The Food is gorgeous, especially the mega fry! Portion sizes are huge and the staff are so friendly, helpful and more than happy to cater for any dietary needs. The deserts are delicious also will definitely be returning soon!

Passing through Castlederg and we stopped for a bite to eat. Food was lovely, staff very pleasant with a nice atmosphere. Will definitely call agaiin

Driving through stopped off at Dolly’s. They were just about to close but told us to sit down. Food was amazing staff brilliant and very helpful. All freshly baked food . Will definitely be back

Wife and I went to Dollys for lunch week before christmas , very busy but great service and fabulous food. Great portion sizes. Highly recommend. Great friendly staff.

Worst dining experience ever. We should have known by the unpleasant smell and dirty table cloths upon entering Dolly’s, but we were starving and in a hurry and just wanted a quick bite to eat. Once eventually seated, we were handed grubby makeshift menus 10 minutes later. We had waited over an hour from ordering food to being served, and as we didn’t have all day, I said to the unfriendly and rude male manager who spoke down to us and dismissed the fact we had waited over an hour for our food. Customers who came in after us were served before us. We ordered drinks which arrived at the start of our long wait, and by the time our greasy food arrived an hour later we had them drunk. The manager promised us free drinks due to waiting for so long for our food. There were 3 of us and he brought down 2 drinks. We also ended up paying for them therefore they were not free. At this point we felt so awkward and unwelcome that we decided to hand over the cash and leave as they don’t take card under £10. Manager cannot count, keep promises or display basic manners. I would suggest he attend a course to learn some general customer service skills.I don’t normally write bad reviews as I want local businesses to thrive, however this place is an absolute shambles. Would not recommend to your worst enemy.

We visited Dollys mid week and on entering thought it was busy enough so it must be decent. We were seated immediately then the gent in charge pointedly ignored us for 15 minutes before giving us the menu. A slice of quiche and 2 paninis were ordered and 30 minutes later the food arrived plate by plate. At this point we were ravenous and set upon the food with gusto only to stop and question the fillings of each dish. My panini lacked in the cheese department, the quiche was actually a pastry case containing scrambled eggs and was seriously disgusting and the other panini had the added ingredient of plastic. The manager was shown the plastic (at the time we thought it was a hair) and he did say we wouldn't be charged for it. Thankfully only 2 meals were paid for and we left suitably unimpressed. My advice is don't waste your time,go to the garage hot food bar instead.

Great food can be long wait for it. Downside is front of house by manager who can be unfriendly and very abrupt.

Myself and my younger cousins visited dolly’s today to be greeted with the most unpleasant and rude manager we have ever witnessed. We waited 20 minutes to receive a menu after being seated, until we had to literally ask for a menu, 30 minutes for our order to be taken, also until we had to ask for that too. Witnessing people who had came into the cafe after us get served before we even got our order taken was not ideal when I was sat with 2 young children and 2 teenagers. Kindly we were offered free pancakes for such a wait only to be charged for the pancakes!!! My younger cousin cleared this up with the manager eventually but to be honest we will not be returning. Customer service is awful, it’s a shame as the food is very good. Not the first time we’ve experienced such an unwelcome atmosphere from Dolly’s.

Really great food, particularly the home made chips and amazing shakes. Everything was delicious. So good that we’re planning to go back this week.

Great place for Breakfast lunch or even just a coffee and home made cake.Great staff and very accommodating and Diane was super !!They even let you have one of their mugs if you love it so much !!I know. Bit wired but what can I say. I like yellow mugs !!Oh! I had an Oreo milkshake too ... lush. Highly recommended

Fabulous food, great breakfast menu. Staff are always lovely. Great ambiance and very relaxing. I thorough enjoy going to Dolly’s Tea Rooms, a real treat.

I stopped in Dolly's for a quick snack. It was bright and well laid out. Our food was very enjoyable and reasonable price wise. Overall a very nice place to stop for a meal. Service was very good as well. I will call again.

Dolly's is a nice spot for lunch or breakfast. Food is fresh and tasty and the kitchen will try and accomodate your every wish. I can easily recommend it!

I stopped by earlier today at 1pm. First time in Dollys. Went to the counter, two girls behind counter, admittedly busy preparing food, but no acknowledgment or greeting from either of them. Stood there for a few more minutes, then took a seat, assuming it must be seat service. Still no acknowledgement. Eventually a tall man came over and without looking at me, asked had I ordered yet,to which I said No. He brought over a menu and quickly left again.

very friendly staff you get planty of tea very good food lovely place what more can i ask for if your in castlederg and looking for a good place to eat i would recommend Dollys Tea Rooms & Cafe the food is so beautiful a very clean place as well i would say it is the best place in town and hope to be back in again soon as i live a few mins from the place

Visited here numerous times in the past few months when visiting relatives. Normally call in the morning for the breakfast soda! Superb. Nice freshly cooked food, cleanly presented and great value for money. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

En Dolly's con mi esposa y mi suegra por un poco de comida. Rápidamente nos llevaron a una mesa y nos dieron un menú. La decoración es muy bonita y tenía un ambiente acogedor. Las mujeres elegir té, café y bocadillos y yo fuimos para el almuerzo de los perritos calientes. Todo esto rápidamente y la comida era excelente, con una gran atención. Los sándwiches venía con relleno y estaban bien presentados, incluyendo mi perro caliente con abundante queso fundido y patatas fritas casa cortada. El camarero era muy atento y nos registramos con nosotros para asegurarse de que todo estaba bien. Todo el mundo de nosotros estaba satisfecho con nuestra comida y disfrutamos del entorno. Visitará pronto.

Nice lunch, coffees and cakes are served here. Love the hot chocolate. Could be noisy at lunch time as school children spend their lunch break here too. Reasonable prices

It's always pleasant to visit Dolly's in Castlederg. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and the cafe is always spotless. The food is freshly cooked and most appetising.

This wee café is a gem. Been going on and off since it opened when visiting family. The proprietor is welcoming and greets by name - a nice touch. Also very attentive to a family member who has limited mobility.A variety of table sizes which is good. Tea and coffee - both excellent.Chips - triple cooked, crispy as. Just perfect. Not pre salted - add your own, just as it should be.Burger was goodHomebakes - all I tried was the chocolate brownie - excellent, and I don't have a sweet tooth. Think I liked it because it wasn't full of sugar - hard to describe but trust me on that one.

Called in on a whim on passing and aren't we glad we did. Beautiful interior (don't be fooled from the outside) !! The staff was lovely and the food was fautless. (House burger...mmm) Great prices for the standard of food, will be back and will be recommending to others!

Lliked the layout of the tearoom. Staff could do with being just a little more friendly and welcoming maybe perhaps that is something reserved for locals !! I had some tea and cake which was good. I did however watch the lady prepare salads and sandwiches behind the counter, she didn't wear any gloves which I feel is a bit of a let down.

Great spot to eat every thing is made fresh the daily lunches are great even there home made soup and wheaten bread

Ate here Friday 10th July with two work colleagues and we were really pleased with everything we got from the service to the food. I had a delicious sandwich with ham pear and cheese on brown bread it was really good. One of my colleagues had a delicious salad which she thoroughly enjoyed and the second colleague who is celiac had an amazing omelette especially made for him and I will order next time I am in. This was my first time to visit and to stop in Castlederg. I will go back especially to visit Dolly's tearoom. Thanks and well done to all.

This little place is the best spot about.. the cook/chef is excellent. Can never do enough for you. Fresh food. Fresh baked goods. Lovely lattes and coffees. Brillantly priced afternoon tea with choice of any type of coffee or drink..my fav. Best caramel squares ive tasted. We are now regulars to this beautiful tea room..Never been disappointed with the food. Brillant menu and choices of foods at great prices. My partner just loves it here as did many family members. The owner is just a wonderful lady who believes in good cooking and takes pride in what she does. very kind as well. So glad this place is open. Castlederg are lucky.

Dropped in here for a cup of coffee and a "fresh scone" with my partner before our drive home, it was stale like it was from 2 days before! Staff were slow and not pleasant. We definitely will not be returning

I think this place has something good going here. The staff and management has a lot to be proud of, it's just perfect tea room in the centre of castlederg. If it's just for lunch or its for a business meeting over a coffee this place meets it all. The standard of service for all the front of house staff is excellent, we arrived here just after 2 for lunch and the place was just slowly calming down. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere everything was spot on, from the food to the mocha it just said it all! It's the best thing is it simple with abit of class! Keep the standard up and this place will go far! To be honest probably the best place to eat in castlederg!

The first time I was here was a few weeks after it opened, it was busy but not overly, we sat 25-30 minutes before we got menus and ordered, to do so we had to go to counter to ask could we get menus and then again to ask could we order. Food and drinks were served haphazardly with a gap of 5-10minutes between each person in our party (4 ppl) getting their food, I got my coffee as I was on my way out the door after eating with no drink and requesting it several times.I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again recently...Same poor service and long waiting times again. We were in 15 minutes before we got a menu and waited another 10 minutes before we got to order and only then because I went to the counter to explain that my sister was on her lunch break and had to return to work in 10 minutes. The man taking orders (did not seem to have a clue what he was doing) came down and was quite rude and abrupt and said that regardless of whether he took our order or not there would still be waiting time due to the kitchen being busy, we then explained that by this stage we had been in the premises half an hour without being served at all, he took the order of half of our table but then walked off and forgot the other half so we then had to request that he come back to take the rest of the order!! My sister requested that she got hers quickly so she could go back to work, which to be fair she did but we then sat for another 35 minutes before we got our food. As the meal went on and the place became quieter the gentleman seemed to mellow a bit and lost his attitude problem.The food is good but definitely not worth the waiting times. I understand that they can be under pressure especially at lunchtimes but I think they need to employ more front of house staff or organise themselves a bit better ensuring someone is in charge of orders, drinks, sandwiches, hot food. Both times I was in several people left before ordering or before their food arrived. And finally, maybe the gentleman in charge of orders at the minute be given training in customer service/prioritising workloads & stress management!

My girlfriend was taking me out for lunch and she had decided on dolly's tea rooms as she had been here once with her mum, the decor was classy quaint, the music spot on, and the welcome friendly, we picked our table as it was quiet, handed our menus and our drinks order taken, we had tea for two which came down in classic old bone china tea cups (nice touch) I ordered the chicken fillet burger and chips the burger was really really tasty and the chips??? Homemade and cooked to perfection if there's a perfect chip these were them, can't remember what my girlfriend had as I was busy demolishing my own, but at the end there was two clean plates and to very happy customers!! On the way out we bought some of the homemade scones which were also very tasty and light. The toilets where also spotless full marks all round, can't wait to visit again keep up the good work a hidden gem.
