Doherty's Cafe Bistro in Flintshire

I went for the Ultimate Breakfast, which was a huge plate of food. Everything was cooked to perfection and the quality of the food was top notch. The price was extremely good for the amount of food, and included a drink. Fantastic breakfast.

First time at this cafe, rang the bell for entry, kind greeting & seating, food was hot & delicious, service was swift and very friendly, place was extremely clean. Would highly recommend the breakfast. Jason.

Great that Dave has reopened. Refurbished during lockdown and looking fresh and ready to provide good meals, service and a chat. Regulars already returning on first day reopened which speaks volumes. Had the breakfast and was great as usual along with the friendly chat and jovial atmosphere. Recommended

We visit the cafe regularly and can’t praise the staff and food enough. The fish and chips in particular are amazing, we are always spoilt for choice with the menu. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the chef and the staff who serve are really friendly, added to this the extremely reasonable pricing it’s definitely great value for money.

Came here as a family for a quick bite. My husband had eaten here before when working in the area and rated it highly. Ok, so the decor is not modern and glam but the food was wonderful (obviously prepared with pride and care), the chef and waitress both lovely and it was obvious that the place has a loyal and regular clientele- with good reason. Prices good and it’s very clean. We have eaten in much fancier places and been disappointed both with the food and service - not here though! Incidentally, I heard the chef speak to his customers, many of them elderly, with respect and he also came from the kitchen to our table to check that we were enjoying our meal which was much appreciated. We will certainly visit again, it was brilliant! Thank you very much.

Lovely freshly cooked and inexpensive food. We thoroughly recommend it as the owner is friendly and clearly takes pride in what he does. Handy for the back entrance to Hold's main car park.

Called for a quick coffee with my Dad and daughter as it was convenient for school. The smell when we entered was overpowering. Like wet dog! A lot of wet dogs! The menu was sticky, the table cloth dirty and the carpet has seen better days and could have done with being replaced a long time ago by the looks of it. The toilet is clean however and the staff friendly but we will not be returning.

Chef is Dave and he likes to come round and speak to his customers and get to know them as does his wife and sister when waiting - really nice social touch. Normally have breakfast and find the bacon and sausage really tasty. Can park outside or around corner in car park. All food is freshly cooked by Dave and his curry dishes are always popular. Get along and enjoy a breakfast.

When I'm in Mold this is my must go place for lunch. The food is simple fare with a touch of the exotic on the specials board. A warm welcome is always there and David the chef/owner is never too busy to say hello. This is how cafes used to be. Brilliant.

Came across this cafe bistro while we were waiting for our daughters hockey match to start. Great breakfast and lovely cup of tea.. really friendly staff, will definitely make a return visit :-)

This is a gem of a cafe. Whenever I have visitors, I take them to this cafe. Everyone looks forward to a trip to see me - I wonder why. Fabulous food and genuine and friendly staff.

I have been here a few times now, it is a lovely cafe with homemade food. The staff are always pleasant and friendly. I usually meet my sister on our lunch break and it's always more than satisfying!! Highly recommend.....the tuna mayonnaise sandwich is delicious!

A great little cafe for very reasonably priced breakfasts, lunches and lite bites. Quick service, clean premises, have eaten there several times now and will certainly call again when next in Mold. It’s just a little way out from the centre so is probably lesser known but well worth the couple of hundred yards walk.

Have been coming here since it opened, used to love the place, not now. Standards have been dramatically dropped, table was dirty, owner was stressed and shouting at staff, although cafe was not very busy. Wanted a breakfast but was 10 minutes late, waitress went to ask owner behind thin partition wall, if he could make one (regular customer for years supporting local businesses) to the owner shouting NO. Sorry dohertys very disappointed and let down, a customer lost.

Metimos en para el brunch después de hacer algunas compras. Desayuno genial, una gran relación calidad-precio y el servicio con una sonrisa!

Always go here with my mum and sister, at least once a week, good value for money and I would defiantly recommend the cooked breakfast
