Small place. OK for summer as lots of outdoor seating. Prices rather high

Very welcoming atmosphere especially on weekends. Wide selection of drinks and football available on the screens if you ask nicely. Also plenty of places to sit with indoors, courtyard and terrace. Karaoke is a bonus too

Nice traditional pub. Three ales on, two steaming billy and one guest which was local (round corner). Well kept and one of the better steaming billy pubs I've been too. Good location as opposite the brook and a play park and nice and quiet.

My mum goes most Sundays for a mug of tea, I occasionally go with my mum and have a couple of pints of real ale. We both are impressed by how friendly the staff are and I certainly enjoyed my pints.

I went in to support the new management who came in about a week ago and was really disappointed. This place used to be very nice and welcoming. Moody and rude staff who don't seem to want to be there and stale beer which is wildly overpriced. Everyone in there - staff and customers - stare at you like you're something nasty on the bottom of their shoe when you walk in, it's very weird and not how this place was on any of the other times I'd been in. To top it off, they had an event on late which was playing drum and bass music insanely loud until 12.30am when it was meant to finish at 11.30. I live about 3 streets away and the volume was shaking the glass in my windows until after midnight. I imagine they'll have had plenty of complaints. Obviously it's a pub on a bank holiday so you expect some noise - that's fine - but this was ridiculous. The old management did karaoke nights and things which were noisy sometimes and that was fine, but nowhere near as loud as this. There were also a lot of people smoking weed and shouting outside the pub in groups which is not great to see, especially with children living in the area. Overall - a very bad start. Really disappointing and I can't see this management team lasting long behaving this way. I used to like going here - now I won't be going back.

Really good local with numerous real ales

Once my favourite pub in Syston, but 3 Neanderthals in the bar bellowing all the cuss words you can imagine is not a great asset. Once a screaming kid came in it was time to go. Needs a shakeup or it’s going out of business soon. As far as I’m concerned anyway.

Great community pub, the landlady was very welcoming and the staff were very attentive. The customers were so friendly and helped create a great atmosphere.

Great pub, lots of snacks but no food, fantastic staff and a lovely place to have a drink. Also a great outdoor area.

Could be a nice pub but for the landlady and her son . They both please need to remember not everyone likes dogs (6 dogs) Just walking around freely and when it’s mentioned the drunk land lady was not very polite….so will not be back sorry but could not give 0 .. the pub needs a shake up 💔

In my humble opinion, this is the best pub in Leicester. I'm not from the area but the atmosphere is great. Everyone talks to everyone especially on Thursdays. Bill the owner has got time for anyone.

Great venue. A proper pub with great beer and wine and a brilliant landord who seems to want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Lovely outdoor spaces and very sensible covid set up without being overly official about the whole thing.. Highly recommended and one of a number of steaming Billy pubs which do this thing so well.

The best bar in Leicestershire. The staff are all lovely and the owner has always make me laugh. He is a really nice person and you can see by the way he treats his customer that he will continue to do great business.

Friendly old fashion pub with both the young and old enjoying a relaxed pub atmosphere. Lacking nothing.

Bill - the pub owner, nicest guy you will ever meet and I mean it, top bloke.. And you always get great service at this pub, the barmaids are always happy to help and will go out their way to ensure they look after their customers, always friendly and a smile on their face :) Bill's daughter Naomi, who works behind the bar is also a lovely very open and friendly to all and a lovely person all round.. The pair together make for a lovely family run pub which gives a cosy, friendly pub vibe and i couldn't ask for a better local if I'm honest. Highly recommended for anyone local or anyone passing by as all are welcome and it is always a good crowd with great hosts! :) Also the place has a great selection of ales and beers! And also whisky to be fair which I occasionally have a dabble in and recently I was given a free shot to celebrate an England game win! Which was unexpected and a nice treat! There was also a bbq which was also provided free of charge!! Thanks Bill! True gent as always!

I called in whilst doing the Mild Trail so I was happy to find Dark Horse Mild from the "Belvoir Brewery" was on tap as a guest ale along with the full range of "Steaming Billy" ales. This is a compact and cosy "Steaming Billy" brewery public house with the traditional separate lounge and bar arrangement. They were both clean and kept in good order. The gents toilet was clean and pleasently odour-free. There is a small beer garden to the rear which is a lovely sun-trap in this currently hot sunny weather - it is worth having a look at the selection of various other Breweries old pub signs affixed to its walls. There are also some picnic style bench/tables with parasols on the green opposite the pub. Bill the landlord was friendly and helpful.
