What a lovely traditional pub with a great friendly welcome. The Buttcomes beer well worth trying, I had the 5G pint, very good. We all had food which was very nice traditional food. Totally recommend looking the pub out.

Everyone is made welcome at this amazing community pub. All staff and regulars are polite and friendly. The choice of ales and quality is fantastic. There is simple food, sandwiches, quiche etc on offer but, there is a monthly Sunday roast menu, which booking is required, there are food theme nights plus a monthly visit from Curryjacks. There is a quiz night, community allottment and plenty more on offer at this little gem of a pub. It is very dog friendly has a wonderful beer garden along with "The Kennel", a small room available for private use.

This pub is worth taking the time out to visit. Has fantastic staff and lovely locals. There’s always a great selection of ales and various other drinks. It’s dog friendly and also has board games and a mini library to keep children and adults entertained. The beer garden is a delight to the eye in summer months and has a sheltered part for those rainy days. Also has a free function room for any events that anyone would like to book. Enjoy each and every time I come to this pub. Highly recommended.

A fantastic little backstreet pub with two lounges, the smaller of the two having a good selection of board games and a guitar invitingly hung on the wall for an impromptu singalong. In the winter months there are two fires to cheer your spirits and when blessed by the sun you can retreat to the lovely beer garden. A good selection of beers and ciders, including vegan friendly, reasonably priced Brewdog Punk IPA and decent coffee as well. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming and there are regular events such as quizzes and live music nights for more entertainment.

The pub is off the beaten track, but take the time to find it and you won't be disappointed. It's a very friendly place with well kept beer. A real community local. I noticed on the blackboard that there was an organised pub walk the next day. I joined in, with about 10 locals and the landlady, and was made to feel like I was a local as well. We walked about 12 miles after catching the bus, stopping at 2 pubs on the way back. Bacon sandwiches and roast potatoes were ready for us in the first pub, and pork pies in the Dog and Bone after a muddy but very enjoyable walk. I can't recommend the place too highly. A shame that more pubs are not like this.

This is what a community pub should be, other landlords take note !!. The atmosphere and ambience of this well known drinking establishment is to die for. The choice of impeccably kept real ales is a credit to a very hard working and dedicated landlord. The various theme nights and music is well thought out. A visit to the Dog and Bone is a total pleasure complete with dog !!

I have never eaten here but the real ales are great and the Landlord has plenty on tap to choose from.A great place for musicians with live music and regular jams, in fact there always seems to be something going on or about to take place. There is a large stack of board games to play and a pub guitar hanging on the wall for patrons to pick, mostly though it is a friendly place to enjoy a chat and a great pint of ale or 3 (5,6).I don't get down there as often as I would like to but you can bet I'll be back soon, my favorite pub in the city.

A brilliant LOCAL pub. Good beer and sometimes they serve food although I have never eaten here. They have the most fantastic gigs for folk musicians. It gets very crowded as it is a very small bar. Check them out at @DogBoneLincoln. on twitter. You can go in and have a chat, read a book, play board games and also enjoy the real ales they have.

This place is what community pubs should all model themselves on. I'm not a regular but whenever I go in I am guaranteed a warm welcome, and a good choice of well-kept beers. Bar snacks are available (expect pork pies and filled rolls). The walls are filled with interesting art by local artists, regularly changing and often for sale. It also acts as an informal sort of library - bring your unwanted books and exchange them for some of the thousands on the shelves in there. If my local wasn't as good as it is, I'd be here a lot more regularly!

Me and a lot of old mates meet here about once a month for a good chin wag and to talk about all the old times when we were teenagers and what we got up to, motor bikes, cars, girls etc. This pub has a brilliant atmosphere and is graded as the best old style pub in Lincoln, with a good range of real ales. And live music at times.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Dog & Bone with my father, younger brother and his partner. The Sunday lunch menu had a good selection of starters, mains and deserts and very reasonably priced. We all enjoyed our starters and mains with only father and brother finding room for desert. Each course was well cooked, well presented and the service from start to finish lovely. If you want good honest tasty home cooked food with the option of real ales/ciders/wines etc give this little gemof a pub a go.

This pub is set in an unexpected out of the way place, a five minute walk from the city centre. Walking through the door is a transformational experience, so much not what you would expect from the outside. On the bar fresh bread on sale, comfortable chairs around the two rooms, books on bookshelves and papers available to read. A wonderful selection of beers all kept to perfection. The warmth and friendliness is so impressive. At the back a well designed and maintained beer garden. We were there Easter weekend and the owners had hidden Easter Eggs around the garden for the children to search for. They had a barbeque which was good value and totally in keeping with this place. You get the impression that this is a pub that works very hard to create a community, it draws people to be part of their community and everyone that was in that pub felt accepted and part of it. A rare and unexpected treat.

Went for Sunday lunch, nice welcome and shown to our table. The menu is on chalk boards around the walls. STarters were asparagus and mushroom croquettes they were absolutely delicious, creamy inside and crisp on the outside, served with a wonderful mushroom sauce. Mains roast beef and all the trimmings for me, chicken stuffed with spinach for hubby. The desserts were works of art, a blueberry tart for me served warm, I was in heaven and hubby had a pecan and maple syrup sponge with custard, wow it looked so light and he loved it. Real shame that we live in Hertfordshire a two and a half hour drive away. If we lived remotely nearby, we would eat here a few times a month. Parking right outside opposite the restaurant in a lovely little village
