Dodona House Ltd in Barrow-in-Furness

Five of us visited mid Feb and were very happy with the food we received. To went for kebabs. Two went for Pizza including myself but I forget the fifth persons choice. Food was cooked fresh although food was served as it became available. I would have appreciated my pizza served on a hot plate as that this my normal expectation. Food was hot, fresh, tasty, well cooked, and portions generous. We had a mix of soft and alcoholic drinks and I thought all the pricing was fair. Service was good and we were asked if there were any problems with our meals. There were none. The restaurant was initially empty but for us and they turned on a calour gas’s heater to warm the area. Forties sat a little distance from it or it may have become oppressive. Whilst the restaurant was empty during the majority of our visit there were frequent to go orders heading out the door. Overall happy with the meal and I would eat here again.

It has been highly recommended I see from the website ,seems impressive.The portion size is good,the salad was nice and fresh ,as was the rice & bread . The mixed meat was good and the lamb. I had Chicken Souvlaki .I wondered how it was made is this how you do yours? ''Meat is marinated in a mixture of olive oil, acid, garlic, herbs, and spices, then skewered and grilled until cooked through and lightly charred.'' If so I could not taste anything and the chicken was dry,also the Tzatziki dip did not taste right just tasted of cream .. Maybe the pizza is the highlight of your take away/ restaurant. The restaurant did not feel like one where was the atmosphere ?, No waiting staff to greet you , no starters on menu or a wine list . Needs more Greek dishes on menu to make it a restaurant, Maybe section off restaurant from takeaway. Not relaxing if you have just eat drivers coming in for pickups at times and takeaway s.

After reading "RAVE" reviews we booked a table for Saturday evening, the girl did not even ask my name and said there will be a table for me which i thought was a bit odd. The weather was horrible so we decided to just get a take away. When it arrived it was cold I ordered a Chicken and Halloumi skewer but what i got was everything thrown together in a pile inside a box. When i tried the chicken, apart from being stone cold it was brick hard and overly cooked bone dry. We also hade a Chicken GYROS was also horrible, cold overcooked dry. One bite of each was all we had and threw everything into the bin. I would go as far as to say that i have never had a worse take away meal. REALLY DISSAPOINTED TO SAY THE LEAST. NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!! Richie

The Gyros are to die for .... Best place by far and its always fresh and hot. Also the pizzas are best too.

Best pizza i ever had.... Meat feast pizza was perfect, plenty of meat, filled with finest mozzorella and cooked to prefection👌🏻

Pork Gyro is my favorite one along with house pizza with extra jalepenos. Good price for decant food.

Ive have been going here for more than 2 years and always have been spot on. From Greek food to italian Pizza everytime it has been spot on !

Best food in Barrow, we usually get Gyros which are 100% meat and directly brought from Greece to our door.

After ordering we were told food would be 30 minutes. It actually took an hour and 10 minutes. Seemed really disorganised. The grilled meat is fine but the pizzas are pretty poor. None was worth the wait.

Best Mediterranean Food in Barrow. Charcoal grilled meat and Italian pizza, Greek salads and Greek Gyros.

Enjoyed this as take-away while visiting with family in Askam. Liked it so well in fact that we ate there twice! Mixed plate with Chicken, Sausage and Kofta also has rice and salad. So fresh and tasty and at REALLY reasonable prices. Can't recommend enough! Only Takeaway I believe right now but I heard they are planning to open a sit down restaurant soon.
