Docwra's Chip Stall in Great Yarmouth

no ive not tried these guys just yet but will be in a few weeks as my very top chippy has retired from brewers chips saloon who i loved his various sauces, especially the blue cheese one. so after googling for best chippie on great yarmouth and all the fab reviews, these guys near the mushy peas will be my first choice but im not sure i fancy any there sauces, shame as i loved dipping chips in blue cheese and prior to that was ranch sauce but it kept going off in the hot weather. be fab if they could do a few different sauces

This place is just a chip heaven, the air around it is filled with the smell of their beautiful sweet chips, honestly so delicious. Cannot wait to come again

Grabbed some chips from here after seeing them on Channel 4 and wasn’t disappointed!! Friendly service and Lovely and crisp chips but soft inside, perfect amount of salt and vinegar and one of us had onion gravy which was lovely and rich and full of flavour. There’s only chips on the menu, but when you’re doing 1 thing this flawlessly why would u need anything else?!

The chips alone are beautiful with salt and vinegar of course but if you don’t get the onion gravy you will regret it 😍 it is divine, sadly I live an hour away but I think about chips and onion gravy from here at least once a week 😂

this is the best chip stall in Great Yarmouth! i would definitely recommend for everyone looking to get chips 10/10 for me. Absolutely superb!

I've been here quite a few times, it's my go-to chippy in Yarmouth. They've always been lovely, the food has always been good, I absolutely cannot complain

Ridiculous that all chips are cooked in beef dripping, so they do not accommodate vegans or vegetarians.

We've been visiting this chip stall since i was a little, before with my grandparents and now with my own family. Nothing beats these chips!!! We make sure we visit everytime we visit great yarmouth! i've never experienced anything as good anywhere else! My partner used to joke with me saying they can't be that good, it's just chips! He experienced them for the first time last year and has been sold ever since!!!!

I politely asked if their chip stall fried in vegetable oil as my girlfriend and I are vegetarians. The older lady took a breath, put her hands on the counter and patronisingly lectured ‘DARLING... this is Great Yarmouth Market... none of the stalls cook in vegetable oil we stick to tradition’. This is all well and good, and I respected it but there was no need for her delivery to be so obnoxious and patronising. I’m not easily offended but my word I can tell when somebody is being rude. Both my girlfriend and I understand that not everybody caters for vegetarians and this is fine but at least everybody else deals with it in a polite manner. She works in the hospitality industry and should understand how to treat potential customers. Your manners will effect your business and returning customers. That’s rule number one. My first one star review. Take your money elsewhere.

We went to Great Yarmouth and went on the market to have some chips which we usually do and they were absolutely lovely. Many stalls to choose from but we think we made the best choice on this occasion. We will return soon. Enjoy if you go and nearly opposite the mushy pea stall which are also lovely.

Lady with glasses and very short blonde hair is extremely rude. Will not be going there again! Chips also had a hair in, which I don't remember ordering. This lady needs to learn manners and how to treat people with respect!! Disgusting.

Although we haven't eaten from this stall this year,,, we have in the past and never been disappointed,, always hot and freshly fried, reasonably priced and served with a smile.. They come in various portion sizes.. If that one's closed,, there's others in the square... there are plenty of bench seat all around the sqaure. If you need the toilet, there is one in the Market Gates shopping centre, at the back ...

If you visit Great Yarmouth you must try their famous Market Chips. There are a few stalls now selling chips (only) there were only four at one time. There is plenty of seating and you can add toppings like cheese, mayo, curry or chilli con carne. What a great way to pass the time !

I have not had chips from this stall for years but I was over that way visiting my family and just HAD to go and get some. Was not disappointed. They are so fresh, hot and utterly divine - the staff are also so jolly - even considering it was flaming well freezing! They were so gorgeous I seriously could have gone back for me - THEEEEEEEEEEE best chips ever!

We always go to this chip place on the market as I have found they are the best, the price is good and you get plenty of chips for your money. The taste amazing too with plenty of salt n vinegar on.

As you get near the market the smell of these chips frying fills the air and make your mouth water freshly cooked chips with loads of different toppings from gravy to chilli there's loads of choice.lovely.

Never have been able to understand how so many stalls just selling chips all within a few yards manage to survive, but they all do and they are all great, there's 11 of us and we all seem to have something different from just a chip stall so many different sauces, some with cheese on some with cheese and sauce, fantastic value for money, ideal snack , the kids look forward to it every year

Whenever we come to Yarmouth we always go to Docwras for chips, as they simply are the best chips in town. Give them a try ! You will not be disappointed !

We always visit Docwras chip stall when we are in Great Yarmouth for our chips at the market. By far the best chips on the market, always taste so fresh. My favourite is cheesy chips with garlic mayo and the onion vinegar. I love that they give you a choice of different vinegars to use!

Whenever we visit Great Yarmouth we cannot leave without a visit to the Market, with the express purpose of having some "Market" chips. There is plenty of choice for chip buyers but the best has to be Docwra's family chip stall. The potatoes are peeled fresh and placed in a chipper. The taste is second to none and there is plenty of choice of condiments and other food items if you want something with your chips. The portions are plentiful and great value for money. Just the smell is enough to start the taste buds tingling and then the taste itself is manna from Heaven. A clean, hygienic well run chip stall that I wish was closer to home but well worth even a day trip from London just for the taste.
