A few days in Bridlington for a concert, we struggled to find anywhere good to eat...until we stumbled across this fab restaurant. As in others reviews, not an obvious stop, and downstairs is a taproom with live music on a Sunday. Make the trip upstairs for superb, well presented, very tasy and great value food. A friendly chef/patron will take time to chat at the table in an unpretentious and relaxed (dog friendly also) restaurant. We had the leek and cheese Souffle, amazing! And the bacon, black pudding and poached egg salad. Followed with the roast beef which was exceptional. What a find, don't walk past!

I thought the menu was good value for fine dining experience. Beautifully presented food and the salmon lobster course was divine. We shared the steak and it came on a sharing platter. Tender and delicious. Service efficient and unobtrusive. Would highly recommend for a real treat. Can’t wait to try another menu there !

What can I say - not too much as selfishly, I don't want to let the cat out of the bag and let everyone know what a fab place this is. We have been for sunday lunch and a tasting menu and both times, the food was some of the best we have eaten. (And we have been to quite a few michelin starred establishments). Cost is ridiculously cheap, I don't know how he does it for the money and quality of products. Service is friendly but apt for the restaurant. Ambience is what it is - you are paying for the food here - if you want a fine dining experience, with all the bells and whistles of service levels, fancy loos, toiletries etc - don't come here. If you want excellent food, presented in an innovative manner at a very reasonable cost, then make a trip to Bridlington. (140 miles round trip for us) We have even joined social media, to keep up with the menus/events etc on offer.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary, which happened to fall on the night of the tasting menu. Every dish was superb, tasty and wonderfully cooked. The chef introduced each course and spoke to all the diners, this made it a really personal experience. One of us required a gluten and dairy free menu and they made adjustments to each plate so we could still enjoy every course. Even going the extra mile of visiting our table to explain the changes and the reasons behind them. All in all a wonderful experience, we felt at home, spoilt and truly looked after. And all for a very reasonable price to boot. Thank you all at Dockside for a lovely evening.

Just enjoyed a stupendously good meal with matching wines at the Dockside Kitchen. We go regularly for the monthly tasting menus, which are extraordinary value considering the standard of cooking, but last night we enjoyed the extra pleasure of being introduced to four very interesting wines chosen to go with the food. I've paid a fortune for tasting menus with matching flights of wine across the UK, but here everything is included for £50. Particularly pleasing was the way the drinking experience developed before, with and after the food, changing the flavours in your mouth - that and finding an intense, syrupy rose that really does pair perfectly with chocolate. Our unctuous desert combined chocolate brownie, mouse and the darkest, glossiest marquise you could wish for with hazelnuts for a very grown up, intense eating experience, and the wine truly stood up to and complemented it. We started with a crispy finger of Lyonaise potato on a cheese custard, served with fermented onions - fermenting takes some of the harshness out of them and slightly softens the texture. It was just the most comforting, rich dish, redolent of butter, which made an unlikely partner for a rose, followed by a medley of fish and shellfish in an aromatic tomato broth. Chicken cooked two ways with leafy greens and a jus containing a ridiculous amount of red wine provided a hearty main. All in all another splendid evening's eating - definitely our favourite place to eat along the East Yorkshire coast. We came away with a few bottles for Christmas, and the recipe for the potatoes!

Beautiful food. Need to say no more. Never had gnocchi that I liked but this is different class. Well priced, good wine choice and a chef who is happy to come and share tips with you. Will definitely be back

Found this place via a review on airb&b and so glad I looked it up. This is a lovely little restaurant, hidden above a micropub. We opted for the garlic bread due to a previous review but personally found this a bit disappointing. More oily rather than garlicky. We wished we had ordered 2 portions of the crabonara, as this was AMAZING! Same with the main really, the fish dish was ok, but wished we had ordered 2 of the slowcooked beef. All aspects of that dish were absolutely spot on. Finished off with a cheese board for one, which was plentiful and a nice end to the meal. Would not hesitate to eat here again next time we are in Brid.

The chef has created some truly original and fascinating dishes here, in simple and unpretentious surroundings. The plain wooden tap room feel is echoed in the dining area upstairs, but the food is the real focus - crispy potato skins with creamy lobster Thermidor inside, perfect pan fried sea bass matched with hispi cabbage which had been stuffed with fishcake, a deliciously different take on chicken supreme with mushroom and grains. The quality of ingredients is exceptionally high and this shines through. Martyn has ambitions to serve high end food that can also appeal to a broader Bridlington crowd, and the menu certainly does this. Highly recommended - expect some appealing quirkiness, but it’s astonishingly good value for a lovely meal.

The Dockside Kitchen is located on the first floor of the Yorkshire Tap in Bridge Street. There is no obvious sign of the restaurant from the outside, and the Tap room, whilst fit for purpose, does not sign-post the excellence of the food served upstairs. Don't let this put you off - make the effort and you will be rewarded. We had dinner on a quiet Thursday night - a short but interesting menu all prepared and cooked by the single chef. We had two courses (starter and main each), and all were cooked to perfection, and tasted amazing. Of particular mention are the chicken liver starter - a large portion of soft, 'melt in the mouth' livers, with a well balanced pepper sauce, and the sea bass with lobster butter sauce main - again cooked to perfection, with another delicious sauce. The chef/patron took the trouble to chat with us about his previous experience and approach to cooking - clearly passionate about the food he serves, and with a great touch. Please support if you are local, or visiting Bridlington. You wont be disappointed.

We Visited Dockside on 27/07 and was greeted by a lovely gentleman who seated us took our drinks and food order, after a short wait drinks arrived as ordered we was then directed up stairs to the main restaurant, the restaurant has a minimalist rustic feel, plenty of space between tables so not squeezed in. Starter arrived me and wife shared one which was the beef dish and it was out of this world very tasty and cooked perfectly. On to the mains I had Lamb this was once again cooked perfectly was a mixture of slow cooked lamb and lamb chops with an slow cooked sauce. My wife had the steak with parmasean fries the steak cooked a perfect medium rare the fries crisp and fluffy with a lovely parmasean coating and the blue cheese sauce was stunning. We had a great chat with the chef and was made to feel very at home we will definitely return.

Don’t be put off by this seemingly regular Yorkshire tap house. There’s nothing regular about the food being produced here. How this place wasn’t packed out on a Saturday night is beyond me. Utterly stunning, well thought out plates of food with respect given to each ingredient. My lamb dish was outstanding, as was everything to be honest. We visit Bridlington often, mainly for the beaches and we always struggle with where to eat out. After a few portions of fish and chips we’re craving fresh, flavoursome food. Delighted to have found this gem and it’s going to be our go to for future trips to East Riding. Bravo Chef, bravo.

The food was delicious - not just the 'same old, same old' and the staff were great. The wine was nice too. The only thing I'd change? Lose the tacky plastic hedge and put real plants or flowers on the tables, but that's my personal taste.
