Dobbies Restaurant & Cafe in Cotswold

Pros: quick service, staff were friendly, plenty of space, were very conscious of allergens, and reasonably priced. Cons: food was mediocre, pouched eggs were hard, and hollandaise was thickened with flour, a few snots hanging from one servers nose, very noisy and echoey space, one dogs continuously barking but staff didn’t say anything.

Loads of space to sit and you didn't feel like you were sat on top of others. Only thing we weren't happy with is how early the restaurant shuts. For being near the motorway this wasn't helpful for people travelling home.

Popped in for tea n a cake. Good job wasn't in a rush, service is so slow. Staff need to get organised and have 2 coffee machines. It's the ridiculous amount of different coffees that slow everything up. Get rid of the sofas which are so uncomfortable. Criticism over. The tea and cakes were generous and delicious

Come to Dobbies cafe on Fridays for a treat after college with either my mum or dad, always a pleasure, lovely hot chocolate and cakes with friendly staff

It's always consistent with food..but I do wish the chairs were cleaner

The service was excellent and the meal was very tasty. The menues were so clear and easy to navigate.

Don't go, staff crap, food pitiful if eventually it turns up and it's what you ordered

Lovely breakfast, nice coffee, open and airy dining

No cups so no hot drinks. Had to pay for a bottle of water. Very long queue for seats in the restaurant.Some seats in coffee bar area but limited menu and no hot drinks.

We had a late breakfast and it was delicious The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we were served our breakfasts by the chef himself. Hot and tasty( the breakfast) that is. 😆😆

Went here for our monthly free coffee and look around,but as usual no cream scones after 2 pm why aren't there a tray of scones kept back back for 2 pm

Had a Sunday roast 3 meats, and my friend just had one. Good for the price.

Really poor food and drink offering. Not clear that it is a separate restaurant and cafe area. Free tables in restaurant but long queue to be seated. Dirty cutlery. Tables uncleared. Food was undercooked. Overall opinion was a very poorly managed venue.

Over priced and not very clean. Every time I go there you usually have to wait a long time.

Very poor service clearly the staff were disinterested in giving a decent service and the crockery was stained and cracked I had to request the teapot be changed as a deep crack on the handle..

Cirencester dobbies one of the best we've seen. Great choice well laid out.

Very nice cafe if a little long (10 mins approx) to get served. High quality cakes and coffee. Large, high quality selection of plants, flowers, trees, seeds and bulbs and small starter plugs such as geraniums. Play area for kids. Kids toys etc. Nice day out.

Service was dreadful in terms of number of people serving. There was a huge queue for coffee and cake took ages to get served which tbh was unacceptable.

We had breakfast 2xfryups and we asked for avocado on toast for out daughter but it was covered in red peppers and chillies very off putting for a 3 year old service was ok

Cafe smell of wet dog, it is disgusting that dogs are in a restaurant. Service was extremely slow due to lack of staff

Bit of a wait as it was valentines. But staff was helpful and food was good.

Dire, wait one week for hot drinks 30 mins , then give up & cancel order. Back a week later, thought it might have improved….. nope waited30 minutes, gave up & left… I mean at least tell the customers how long the wait is if there is one!

Had Sunday roast - it was absolutely awful. Served very cold. Should have asked to be heated up. Dreadful stomach pains later on.

Lovely cakes and coffee but always a long queue and appears to be short staffed with tables not cleared or cleaned which is the only down side. But staff always pleasant even when under pressure.

Had lunch here very nice server's always lovely.

Dog friendly, good breakfast, reliable

Full breakfasts missing black pudding & hash browns. Half finished breakfasts before drinks finally arrived, but only after chasing them. Scone arrived after watching it sit on the side with staff talking in a group literally over it for at least 15 mins, at best 45 mins after it was ordered. Took easily 20 mins to pay the bill, trying to catch someone's eye. Very unimpressed. Food that we got was lovely, but not special enough to go back. No receipt given from payment.

My wife loves this place, and I drive her their. Coffees are not bad. Unfortunately, I have not had a meal, but I did have a cheese scone, it was good.

Frankly I'd avoid. After queuing for 30 minutes the service was borderline rude (no apology for the wait / how can I help type greeting). Coffee was basically warm milk. The would do kids hot chocolate, and asking for an extra cup was recieved as if I'd asked for her left arm. Almost all tables had dirty cups / cutlery etc. We even left a bit of cake (which never happens in our house!) I don't leave many reviews, unfortunately our experience prompted this response. We won't be back. Poor.

Like a lot of places, lack of staff, very few clear or clean tables, one person serving and a que of 15 waiting.

Only went to get some lunch. Service slow (understaffed) Had jacket potato - don't have the peri peri chicken! Only 2 small pieces of chicken and little bit of sauce so even though potato was fluffy, it was quite dry My friend order decaf coffee but was given ordinary one because they didn't have decaf. They could've asked first!

Coffee shop service slow and poorly organised, my capuccino was cool by the time they served it, disappointing but friendly staff and still very popular.

For a nice and easy Traditional English Breakfast, we couldn't go wrong here! Great portion size, especially for the cost! Tasted great, nice and easy, super lovely staff, very quick and generally lovely atmosphere 😍 would recommend and the garden centre was really great too!

Not much choice of cakes, nice lad serving the coffees, lots of dirty tables & some staff didn't look like they wanted to be there!!

Very good, one of us had the jacket potato and one had a toastie, very good and reasonably priced.

Need more staff in cafe and larger portions for money

Good value (2 scones with cream & jam for the price of 1). Service was rather slow, only one lady serving people! The chairs & sofas are rather worn & and dirty. definitely should be replaced.

Only had a cake and coffee, but that was very nice, if a little over priced. Lots to look at besides plants and a large selection of house plants.

Went for some lunch had ham egg and chips really was nice and quick service followed by a fruit scone was really nice too a really nice atmosphere and very friendly staff overall really nice

Lovely service, shown to our table by helpful staff. Unfortunately, 2 of the items we wished to order for lunch were unavailable, so had to have alternatives. Very, very dry vegetarian quiche was served but salad and new potatoes were tasty. Portion of chips was forgotten about, but removed from the bill when we pointed this out. We had to wait 55 minutes to ge givennour drinks. Our ticket had Bern lost do no good was prepared either. None of the waitresses noticed that we were sitting there without anything in front of us and no one checked if we had ordered.

Nice place for a cuppa and a good chat.

The restaurant is lovely, drinks and food too however, having to queue for 30 minutes + for a cup of coffee is totally unreasonable. More staff is needed during busy times.

Always seems to be too soon or too late for restaurants coffee bit was too busy so queued for restaurant. After ten minutes was told that we couldn't sit down until after 12. We didn't bother.

We ordered the cream scones, the scones itself were lovely and light but it was supposed to come with cream and strawberries, my partner and I got 1 strawberry between us ... Yup half a strawberry I had in my scone! The lady also didn't put our food through right and ended up charging us more, which was an inconvenience. The restaurant itself seemed clean and we didn't have to wait too long to be seen.

Cirencester Dobbies cafe. Helpful, plenty of staff, good queue management and quick service, despite staff training happening at the time. Lovely coffee and cake as usual. A smoother and more relaxing experience than the Swindon store manages.

Its going down hill in there rapidly. We have been regulars for years so we have been noticing the differences. They have stopped the Forces discounts too which is not good. Just proves they dont appreciate what our armed forces do for this country to keep us safe. Staffing levels poor and waiting times very slow. Not good and we will not be rushing back anytime soon. Such a shame as it was a great place to go but its gone down hill now in many ways.

Rude staff member in the food seating area - no idea how to address customers!

Bit of a weird queuing system meaning a fairly long wait to be seated when there were empty tables. Once in the food was okay and fairly good value for money.

Smashing place to have a coffee and lunch and get something for the garden at the same time

I love to meet friends n family here, it is a wonderful setting with a lovely ambiance, the downfall is for the lack of staff at busy times to be able to provide us the customer the pleasure of a great visit. Time is the essence, having to queue is a nightmare let alone when you as the customer has to view only one member of staff serving whilst the queue is 15 deep, please management take note help love you and the venue its great a gem, get it sorted 🙃😊😘

Great place although on this occasion short of food as delivery delayed, but usually great. So give them 5 stars as not their fault.

It's a fairly fast moving cafe. Good place to meet up with friends. Very nice staff. Food is good, fish and chips really nice

Despite being half empty it took ages to be seated. When my breakfast did turn up it was stone cold. Fair play they did deduct the cost from our bill but it was really disappointing. I suspect they are having staffing issues.

Nice coffee but dirty looking seating is really off putting

Coffee Luke warm scone dry butter as hard as rock atmosphere rubbish felt like I had to know quickly what I had to choose after standing 20 minutes queuing, was suppose to be birthday treat, horrible

Visited the new Dobbies at Texkesbury, very nice, similar to Cirencester, will stop off again when on M5

This is a lovely garden centre. Very large and plenty to choose from. The breakfast menu is excellent too. Friendly staff and large car park. 🙂

Local garden centre. Now includes a Waitrose outlet in store.

Good value food and a nice clean place

Outstanding service and food. Greeted by pat who seated us and explained that someone would come and take our order. Food was delicious and well presented. Our waitress Lorraine was efficient and pleasant. Overall excellent experience will be coming back

On our visit to the Dobbies Garden Centre which now has a Lakeland shop,Hotter shoe shop,Sainsbury’s with a Butchers & Delicatessen &. Aquatic centre,we popped into the restaurant for a drink and a bite to eat,I had the Angus beef burger with French fries & coleslaw the Mrs had her usual toasted tea cake with strawberry jam all washed down with a lovely cup of tea....It was quite busy had to wait a while to get served but it was well worth it.....So if you are visiting a can recommend this restaurant for your refreshments....👍
