Quality food and pleasing service…

Staff are rude and need educating, food I got waited over 2 hours and when it came was cold. Rang up and told them, all I got was a rude guy on the phone that did not apologise, this place needs to be shut down as clearly the owners have employed a bunch of animals to run it. The food was not even acknowledged by my dog, that says it all. Even giving it a 1 star is too much, would love to give it a zero star

Literally ordered from their website. Took payment and accepted order. Then forgot about it and when called them said sorry we are closing now nothing we can do. Never again. Pathetic

This is by far the worst takeaway I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a few pissed up takeaways! The food tastes of dirty oil and if they manage to get your order right it’s always really late and poor quality. Either make yourself a sandwich when you get in or order elsewhere because this is awful

2nd time ordering here after a night out. 2nd time of getting my order wrong. Ended up with nuggets that weren't mine but my friends and they were missing there's. Ordered a chicken kebab with salad and garlic mayo, got home and got over done chicken with no salad and yogurt and mint sauce. It wasn't even in the rush. We were the only people in the takeaway! The food that I didn't get was questionable. They clearly don't re check the order before it being dispensed. I may have had a drink but I know what I've paid for and expect to be given what I paid for....

The food was not cooked properly and the burger were looking to be left over from three days before it made my little son sick and I would not recommend it to anyone to go there. I called them and told your food was not hygienic. I was only told sorry.

Have to say used to come here every weekend back in the day now it's more like once a month but never disappoints. The staff are good especially RAJ always goes extra mile to take care of you

Ordered off of deliveroo waited for 2 hours for nothing to arrive, deliveroo got in touch with them and claimed they never got the order through even though they accepted it on their system.

Ordered food online stated would be an hour after one and half hours asked for update was told order delayed further so requested my money back which restaurant agreed to….was not refunded so got in touch with just eat ……8 hours later just eat replied to me that restaurant would not be giving me my money back and hope I enjoyed my meal! Never received it Stay away

This place used to be good for food.. tonight 12/9/22 DISGUSTING dripping in grease chicken strips soggy with grease chips cold onion rings cold over an hour late £10.50 wasted I would of been sick if I would of eaten that.. 😡

The first time I ordered and unfortunately the food was not good. The spicy chicken burger had no flavor and was completely covered in mayonnaise. The chips were cold, small pieces and rubbery. The grilled meat was mild. The spicy wings were oily and had no flavor. I certainly won't make the mistake of ordering from here again.

Do not recommend, they always cook in old/used oil and the chicken always has an oily taste to it, the food gives you multiple stomach aches the following day and many painful 30 min trips to the toilet.

If you want food poisoning this is the place to go

What a joke keep lying about the delivery order .said it’s on the way my house is literally 4 mints drive after waiting for another 25 mints .rang them and been told it’s still in store and waiting for driver.what a joke Shame on Dixy name

Decent food, but quality went down and since stopped coming used to go regularly and know the owners and give them gifts but due to this, i don't think we will be coming back.

Got chicken and chips last night and although the service was bad the worse part has been today. Stomach pains and diarrhoea couldn’t leave the house for hours.

Filthy place!! Disgusting grease laden pizza, staff disinterested in customers!! Will not be going back. Has a 5 rating for cleanliness on the food standards hygiene scores on the doors green sticker! I've no idea how or when this place was last visited. Avoid at all costs!!!!!

Wouldnt bother! If its not bad enough the food takes an hour longer than it should we was delivered the wrong order and told it would take another 40 minutes. Then on picking the food up we was told the other customer laughed that he got our much more expensive order and they didnt bother to even apologise let alone offer a refund or some type of apology. Terrible customer service!!!

Best chicken shop around. Great prices, great service. Worth the trip to Bury for this branch of Dixy!

The most disgusting place i ever had food from! Everything looked dirty but as i was very hungry i needed to buy so the burger and chicken was smelly.. i don't know why the food standard agencies and the bury council don't steps in and revoke their license? This place is clearly not a healthy place and clearly they distribute rotten chicken and other outdated products for public consumption!

Bag was soaked like it’d been dropped in a puddle , made the chips very soggy & the selects were by far the worst i’ve had.

I'd rate this better than dixy. Especially the quantity compared to dixy.

I would definitely recommend not visiting this restaurant or purchasing anything from them if you value your health full stop after waiting over an hour and a half to my food and calling over 3 times to check on the status of my food preparation and delivery I was fobbed off numerous times before they arrived at the house full stop On opening the food, it was clear that it had been made some time ago as there are areas in the arctic that are was. It was absolutely terrible there was no texture to anything whatsoever and I may as well have been eating a soggy kitchen sponge. Telephoning the restaurant the man that I have previously spoken to regarding the order was rather standoffish, and had a blatant disregard or any of customer concern regarding the order stating that the outside temperature would have got to the food and made it cold however. It's very difficult to believe when the restaurant is less than a 10-minute drive from my house and had the disc in the case. He may have had to have gone via China to get me my order. Also the food when is arrived was in a thermally insulated polystyrene packaging in a sealed carrier bag ergo would not have lost that much heat. I'm finishing what I could have the food. I then got an acid reflux due to the amount of oil which there was that much that have there been any more that would have been invaded by the States after vomiting ferociously in the manner of what can only be described as the piece suit scene from The Exorcist I decided to phone the restaurant again were I was blatantly told that it was not their issue that they've never had any complaints whatsoever and they have glowing report from all and sundry regarding their food. So, please listen to this advice. Do not eat at this restaurant and I highly recommend that you pass on this message. Thank you.

Recommend the peri wings and the peri burger meal delivery came in about 45 minutes and it was busy the chips were very good and the peri wings were cooked like it was from a 5 star restraunt and the burger was so good

Absolutely shocking. Ordered a box meal that comes with a 1.5ltr coke, gravy and beans, all of which didn't turn up. Instead of coke it was pepsi max and the gravy and beans didn't turn up at all... also paid for an extra bottle of coke for which I recieved pepsi max - so as I'm eating my dry chicken and chips I call them to see why the order is such a mess for them to tell me they've replaced my coke with Pepsi max and my gravy & beans with extra chicken... spent 20 quid of a huge box of dry chicken and chips with no seasoning.. Absolutely pathetic - as for the extra you're putting in the next order you can keep it as we won't be ordering again and neither should anybody in their right mind

Food gets 5 stars they lose one for delivery can sometimes be a 2 hour wait and we only live a mile away . To be fair this is a very busy takeaway so always ask for delivery time first . once we had a mix up and waited 3 hours but they apologized and put extra box of chicken pieces in with a sorry note written in marker pen on the top .. Good quality fresh chicken coated and deep fried ( my Wife gets the boneless strips but I find them way too salty coating although it's fresh cut chicken breast pieces underneath which taste fine for me if I pull all the coating off ) I always ask for crispy chips they have a habit of rushing them and you get soggy undercooked chips sometimes but if you ask they always come crispy ( they should be timed correctly and should always be perfect but I guess on a busy night they just rush stuff out unless you ask ) We have ordered from here for many years I like the fact they use fresh chicken not frozen rubbish you can really tell as it comes juicy and tender not dry inside like you get from frozen chicken . I suppose if you have just drunk 10 pints of beer in the pub and want a drunken supper no big deal , but we order totally sober at home most of the time so we notice the quality you get from here so worth the wait . Overall we have had chicken from here for many years and always been good , delivery can be hit and miss quite often well over an hours wait other times bang it's on your door in 30 minutes ( always quick when you're not bothered and 1.5hours when you are starving ) My Wife has had Cheese and tomato pizza a few times it's ok . No idea on burger or kebabs from here never tried them .

When I called up for delivery the person I was talking to was rude and impatient. I found it hard to understand him and he got frustrated easily.

I liked dixy rolo meals and the wings very nice would recommend this place

Good food but the customer service is not as consistent as it used to be. Food is very over priced and sometimes they forget things. Also the menus need updating inside. Improvements is needed.

We have always been very happy with Dixy Chicken Bury. One of our favourite!! Can’t wait to visit again. Me and boys love our chicken hamburgers, wraps and fries. The spicy sauce and “potato salt” on fries are absolutely delicious and makes all the difference.

I was waiting over hour for food which came cold and horrible taste, especially corn. Never again, waste money.

Lovely polite staff, service was great. Place was clean just needs updating, great price, food was also hot and service was quick.

Despite the delay, to be fair it was a Saturday at 5pm, the food was actually really really tasty, the delivery man was also lovely.

Its dexy, the original one ,chicken great also its Hala food nice , I reccomend the peri peri chicken burger meal , I reccomend these guys they are very friendly ,give a try you wont regret, you can also order food from this take away too

Both Dixy Chickens in Bury are awful. Poor food and hygiene. Only scored 1 in Food Standards Agency inspection for hygiene.

DIXY Chicken has super tasty food. Excellent chicken fillet burgers, regular and spicy. Chips/fries cooked to order super fresh and crispy. Really Great service. Staff are polite and very professional. There is a large seating area too, so you can place your order and eat in too. Really Great place to eat. A must try.

Expected more from a national high street takeaway, but having had this as an evening meal, suffered bad stomach upset throughout the night. Look for other options.

Had Chicken wings with gravy here on Saturday night 19th Jan 2019. The following morning i woke up with terrible stomach trouble. Whilst i carnt directly attribute this to the meal the evidence for bad hygiene is very high. It has a 1 hygiene rating. The floor and service counter are sticky and greasy. The front window has been broken for over 6 months.Just doesn't seem to be any effort to provide a clean and appealing environment.

I read the trip advisor reviews and decided to give this place a try. I had the peri peri chicken wings with the Whole breast fillet meal deal. Everything arrived hot and the food was very tasty and spicy just how I like it. It was good value for the money.

I ordered a chicken kebab, when I got home it was a Donner !! straight in the bin, my arteries can't take it :-) What a waste of £4, shame people have lost the art of listening to their customers

Took an hour and half for food to delivered. Then was the wrong order. Staff were rude and phoned back blaming us for wrong order. Bad service but food OK. Won't be ordering again.

Very good lunch time offers, not the best chicken in the world but the price is the cheapest around and it is still better quality than other takeaways in the area

Visited last Friday, I ordered a 1/2 cheese burger, however it was served under cooked with the meat still red and uncooked in the middle! Ended up in the bin. Photos taken and sent to trading standards! Massive risk of food poisoning if you order from here!

The gravy from this place is amazing.... The delivery is an actual joke. 2hours and I'm still waiting on delivery. Phoned them up to be told the delivery drivers had an accident... The thing is the last time the delivery took 2 hours the delivery driver had an accident then too... Wouldn't you just employ someone who can actually do a 14 minute journey

i went in just to order a piece of chicken and some fries, i though would be a quick order, but fro some reason all the people around me where served and i was still lissen just more 5minuts over and over again. the only difference i saw betwwen me and the others, i had finish a 10h shift, while the other where just beautifully well present enjoying a saturday night, Really in 2018 and you really need look good if you want be treat good. after 10h without food and over half hour waiting at Dixy, I walk out the door still without being served, all i wanted as food

Rang and placed an order, guy in phone was too busy talking to other staff, took ages writing my order down and then said will be delivered in 45mins. Waited for over and hour, I rang and they said they have been busy and will be with you soon. Eventually when good came, burgers was cold, one burger fell out of the packaging because I'm guessing it was chucked in the bag, pizza was freezing. Its a joke, people must be stupid ordering from this joke of a takeaway.

Theres a viral video online of a Dixy Chicken worker buying and harassing an elderly gentle men! He can been seen snatching chips and his belongings amd tease the old man!!! How sickening!!! I'm absolutely shocked and what I've seen, Below is a screen shot to the video, it may not be this particular branch, but it's not acceptable. We need answers!!!

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There are certain things that can be ordered off the menu like the whole roast peri peri chicken which is absolutely gorgeous and a must. Not found many other Dixie's that serve this. Best Dixie in the North West so far.

Como soy ayuno llamé para pedir comida y traen para alrededor de las 9.30pm. Chico en el teléfono era fantástica, celebró en algunos extras. La comida era en tiempo y fue increíble. Sin duda volveré de nuevo.

Ordenados en línea en comer solo y pagamos con Apple pagar. El dinero de la cuenta de fuimos mi pareja enseguida, pero no fue hasta dicho entrega 17:45 al día siguiente! Cuando nos llamaron para confirmar el pedido, me dijeron que no tenía el dinero y no conseguir nuestro pedido. También dijeron que iban a comer solo de tipo teléfono el problema. Entonces nos llamó diciendo que no tienen el tiempo y deberíamos llamar a ellos. Cuando lo hicimos, nos informaron que el dinero había ido a través y deberíamos tener nuestro pedido. El chico en el teléfono era muy abusivo al preguntar sobre el dinero y utilizó su móvil para llamar a nosotros en vez de un teléfono tienda. Nunca va aquí o en cualquier otra parte de esta cadena. Prefiero comer mi brazo de comer aquí!!!

We ventured in to this hell hole after swimming at Castle Leisure Centre. The prices are very low and you get what you pay for. My daughter asked for a chicken nugget meal and went to sit down. I waited for the meal and as the man passed it to me he dropped it on the floor. He scooped the meal back in to the box off the muddy greasy floor and said "It's okay". I threw it in the bin and went to collect my daughter. Hidden from view behind a 'punching machine' were several teenagers throwing chips at customers whilst the staff did nothing. There was a huge ball of flem that had been spat on the wall and looked like it had been there for some time. The tables and chairs we greasy and there were chicken bones under the table. My daughter got up to leave and got chewing gum stuck to her dress from the side of the table. The walls were filthy, everything felt greasy and the floor was DISGUSTING. I wouldn't let my dog eat in there.I recently learnt that they received a 1 star rating. I'm trying to understand where they got their 1 star from! The perfect place to take somebody you hate for lunch.

just bought mini bucket yesterday 6 pieces of chicken i got 4 pieces and a tiny tiny bit.no condiments just horrible chips wont go there again. been there before was good not yesterday tho

There are plenty of bargains to be had at this Dixy's on Bolton Street in Bury and it is certainly popular with students and workers for takeaways and to sit in of a lunch time.It is basically a takeaway with a separate side room where you can sit in if you wish to eat it. They do 2 pieces of fried chicken (Good size thigh pieces though can vary) and a good size bag of chips for £2.My own favourite is the value box where in addition you have 3 chicken wings and a drink of your choice.The chicken is far tastier than any I have had at any KFC and unlike a KFC the chips are hot and freshly cooked and you receive a generous portion. Always ask for a tub of the chilli sauce which they make themselves. If they were to bottle it and sell it they would make a fortune. They can be slow at times in tidying tables where you can sit in but that apart I have never had a bad meal in the times I have eaten there or takeaways ordered.

Best chicken in bury and gorgeous wings, don't get the original Dixy mixed up with the newer one on market street. This one is on Bolton street and has been here years. Supreme sizzler burger out of this world!

you know that time of night when you get the munchies and only roast chicken will do? well this is the kind of place you fall into when you have had too much to drink. i would not reccommend this place unless your seriously drunk. the staff dont wear gloves when handling food and hygiene does not appear to be an issue. one to be avoided

Looking for a place with cheap Halal chicken? (Let's be honest you can't really tell the difference anyway.) Then this is the perfect place for you. I opted for the 'Number 6' which included four boneless pieces of chicken, fries and a can. It's cheap, yes, but you get what you pay for. It's very greasy and doesn't taste the best however it's great if you're after something quick or don't want to pay ridiculous KFC prices.

ordered came quite quickly how ever not really happy burgers looked thrown together fries where warm and tasted rewarmed and the garlic bread was dry and looked like it had been re-heated :-(

Got some food from there last night. It was far too salty and it didn't taste very nice at all. I ate because I was pissed and now I regret it. It made me feel sick when I had eaten it and the next morning I had to make regular trips to the bathroom. I certainly won't be going back.

The food which I was able to eat was ok, the problem was with the attitude of the establishment when I had a problem with my order.I have been a vegetarian for over 10 years, and so ordered a margarita with mushrooms, as a take away order. When we arrived home I found my pizza was a chicken, mushroom and pineapple pizza. I called the restaurant to be told i had ordered a Hawaiian with mushrooms, I explained I was a vegetarian and did not order this, but was told this was my order. No attempt was made to rectify the mistake, which was apparently my fault. I would never have ordered a pizza with meat and find the attitude to my complaint to be abhorrent. Would it have been so hard to change my pizza? You have lost a whole family of take away eaters as result of this attitude

If you fancy being ill and having upset stomach for a couple of hours then eat here. Service sullen, food awful, cleanliness debatable. Check round the back and see all the tubs and canisters of greasy oil. Steer clear!

Great meal deal for kids for £2. This includes a drink. For adults there is a choice of burgers, pizza, kebabs and lots of chicken. My pizza was great for the cost with lots of cheese. However, is was rather burnt underneath which is the reason why my review only gives them average. I would go again if in the area.
