No volveremos.

I will start by saying the food was ok and the waiter very attentive. He had to be as we were the only ones there. Mind you did have to wait 35 minutes for some breaded mushrooms! On line booking system would only allow us to book for 7.30 giving us the assumption it was going to be busy. Well you know the saying never assume as... Plus when we got there the said they had not been notified of the booking. So if you want exclusive dinning in an empty restaurant with ok food and decent value for money, go there. Although you wont be seeing us there again!

This premises still has the name of what was once a good restaurant and elegant cocktail bar. It is located very close to the Marriott hotel and perhaps for that reason we have often visited here. In our last visit we were saddened to see that the menu has changed to burgers and chicken, so we chose to just have a drink in the cocktail bar. Unfortunately this had also changed for the worse, the tables were sticky, the menus were sticky, it was generally in a very messy condition and had the feel of a sports bar on a Friday night. The staff although very pleasant seemed to be completely overwhelmed.

We booked to go here for an anniversary dinner after being recommended to visit. We definitely will not be going back. The food was at best pub food and at worst absolutely terrible. Service was even worse, ordered a gin and tonic and specifically asked for no lemon, unfortunately it arrived with lemon, I pointed it out to the waiter and he took the drink away and I watched him fish out the piece of lemon with his fingers and then brought back the same drink - I was disgusted especially as I had watched him scratching his face moments earlier. He even had the audacity to argue back with me. The food seemed like it had just been reheated as opposed to cooked fresh. I'm sure with the location of this restaurant there are plenty of unsuspecting punters from the Marriott hotel that visit. Perhaps it was an off day?? Spoken to lots of friends in Leeds that have tried this place ( and I mean people who eat out regularly) and their experience seems to have been equally disappointing.

I will start this by saying i have an absolutely fantastic meal here in 2015. On the strength of that I bought vouchers for two couples for Christmas presents and spent quite a large sum of money on them. The first couple went after Christmas and 90% of the menu was not available. The dish on this occasion returned the money for the voucher as the couple were not local and they went on to eat elsewhere. I was disappointed for them as I have raved about the quality of the food and it was a Christmas gift. I have today discovered the second couple went in March and said it was the worst food they had ever eaten, starter so salty it was inedible and that the menu with great things like pork cooked in several ways had been replaced by burgers and such like. The couple had got dressed up for a night on the town not to eat burgers. Well they didn't actually eat the burgers as they were so dry they were left. When asked "is everything ok" the servers were told that the food was pretty awful for which they received a "sorry, I will tell the cheif". No offer of reduction. The couple were very embarrassed and did not want to upset me hence my only finding out several weeks later. I am utterly disappointed that both couples had such a poor experience and would never enter the Dish again

We visited Dish as a family get together on a Saturday night and we were so pleased. The bar upstairs was busy, but we went downstairs to the restaurant and the ambience was fantastic. There were a few parties going on, but they didn't disturb us at all. One of our dishes was slightly late p, but we were compensated more than adequately. The staff were all lovely, polite, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The food was exceptional. I thought the menu looked abit simple, but a corned beef hash as noting like we'd tasted before. I can't recommend this restaurant enough and we will all be visiting again.... Very soon. A great find and handy for parking at The Trinity!!!

Saturday tea time is not the time to find a reservation in leeds , if you do your lucky that you have a cancellation or unlucky that it's not that popular !!! Dish has a lovely ambience the cocktail bar upstairs is buzzing but downstairs not so busy, the menu is not vast, and out party did not have starters. The portions are small the chicken Kiev comes with around 4 sweet potatoe fries and its a small breast but, in its favour it was succulent and not dry! We all tried dessert which yet again was small in size and the sthe sticky toffee did not resemble anything I had before. Due to vast amounts of places to eAt I would just visit for a drink again

Firstly, as a little cocktail bar, this is great. For food... Best if you give it a miss. Turned up on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was deserted. Never a good sign! The menu is, well, meh. We asked what the specials were (due to the uninspiring menu) and the waitress listed 3 items on the main menu. We weren't offered a wine menu, we had to ask for it. The chicken liver pâté is a slab of some awful solidified mass produced gloop (there was probably better quality stuff at Sainsbury's over the road)Nothing on the menu stands out at all. It was very bland. Won't be returning.

Went for a good friends hen do and we had ordered our meals a week in advance. Upon arrival we were asked for our drinks orders and they arrived promptly but the starters took an hour and 15 mins to arrive. Even though we had pre-ordered three people did not get the food they had ordered and we were told they had run out of the food!!!! More long delays for the main courses as well. The food was nice once it arrived but this is unacceptable with pre-ordered food. The waiting staff were asked numerous times where the food was and they appeared oblivious to our concerns. The staff also miscalculated a starter and a main course and despite walking around with the food asking who had ordered it, the waiting staff then came to advise these were complementary!!! Food was pleasant, service appalling and totally unacceptable given we had pre-ordered this and I would not recommend this particular place to anyone. We were given some free drinks but that doesn't resolve the terrible experience and an upset bride to be.

Awful experience in New Years Eve. We arrived at 8:30 only to wait 20 minutes for our complimentary drinks and menus. First course arrived quickly enough but for the next hour we saw no more food. The general feeling in the dining room and from the staff was that the kitchen was in meltdown and we didn't see any table which arrived after us receive any good. We were constantly told our food was being plated up but nothing came.

Complimentary drinks were provided to the 9 tables that had arrived before us as it seemed they were just trying to keep these guys sweet so that they paid the £65 per head. Once we got to 10:30 I decided that I had seen enough and went to complain only to be told again that it was being plated up. I explained that in an hour and a half we'd had one course and no explanation of what was going on and that we were leaving.

The one course we did have was good and the bottle of red was amazing but given the level of service shown I'd be amazed if they were still open in the next 6 months.

Soup and chips in such a location is a bit of a mickey-take it has to be said...) but Dish is a very special place for us for a variety of reasons. Wanting vegan food, though, the only real option was soup and chips - and the soup is such that it is filling enough to constitute a meal in itself. It tastes impeccable, the croutons are to die for. However at Dish they managed to serve 23 of us plus another large party of people with each of the dishes being served warm and very tasty. I went with a group of 20 friends for a 30th birthday. There were great menu choices and things looked promising. The starters came without a problem and were delicious. The majority of people ordered steaks and the staff/chef didn't seem to be able to cope with this. The food came out over a period of 30mins with some people getting no sides. Most steaks were not cooked correctly and two peoples orders were seemingly forgotten. I feel the staff should have been more apologetic for the mistakes instead of blaming new members of the team. On the whole I felt the food was average and I wouldn't return.

After 20 mins one of the guys announced he was going on a 2hr break whilst the bar was really fully with people waiting to be served. I waited 25 mins to be served. Once served I saw that their glass washer was broken and one of the girls was cleaning by hand. She was merely rinsing the glasses without properly cleaning them and putting them back out to be re used. Once I saw this I cancelled my order and left. This is utterly disgraceful and totally unacceptable hygiene. I'm sure the EHO would have a very interesting visit here. Clearly they need a better manager running this bar and much better health and safety training for their poorly trained staff.

We were really looking forward to our evening at Dish to celebrate a friend's 30th. However, the service and food didn't quite live up to the expectations. I'm not sure if they were understaffed or not and we had been made aware that one of the waitresses was new, but even so, the service was pretty dismal. The starters came out without problem and we're the highlight of the meal - the scallops were delicious! But then the service of the mains was when it all fell apart. Some meals arrived (without their sides) and then we had a 15 minute wait for the rest, unfortunately when they arrived there were problems with some of the mains too. A steak ordered medium well was served rare and had to be taken back which created an even longer wait. They did apologise and gave her a free prosecco to make up for it. Also, many of us had ordered roasted new potatoes as a side and everyone else was tucking into their golden brown, crispy potatoes...then ours arrived - boiled. I think the waitress knew it was an error as she almost ran off with embarrassment after she put then on the table. So again we had to send them back to be roasted. I'm not sure of they thought we wouldn't notice or not??? There was a big difference in the sizes of the sirloin steaks...Some huge and others really small - seems ridiculous when paying the same amount and a lot of the food was luke warm by the time it arrived. All in all the service really let the evening down. We were seated at 8pm but didn't leave until after 11 (and we didn't have deserts) purely because everything took so long! As we were a big group the service charge was included and wasn't optional so our table reluctantly left the full tip which I didn't feel was justified for the whole experience. I think for a restaurant with quite high prices the service and food should be of a high standard. Unfortunately it was all quite average...shame the pricing doesn't reflect that.

Went to Dish last night with some friends from the north east who were staying over in Leeds. We were the first in the restaurant and were made to feel extremely welcome by the staff. Trough out the meal the waitress was very attentive and very informative about the menu. We all had starters, a friend had the scallops with tempura battered prawns which he said was the nicest scallops he had eaten. I had the pigeon breast with the black pudding which was cooked perfectly. The mains consisted of various choices but the five things from a pig which two of us choice was outstanding. After a delicious two courses and feeling rather full we opted to try the sharing dessert, which consisted of a little bit of every dessert on the menu. This was another outstanding choice especially the dark chocolate tart which was a joy to eat. I have read other postings on trip advisor referring to the service not being very good, but my experience was a delight. Our waitress as mentioned before was exceptionally good. We all said on leaving the restaurant that it is one we will definetly be returning to.

First visit to Dish...online reviews/ website promised so much but unfortunately Dish fell well short of the standards I expected from a "higher end" town centre restaurant. After been shown to a table on the fringe of what was a half empty room we were handed menus. We were advised that a number of dishes had ran out inc the steak that I had already chosen. Never mind we browsed again and in the meantime selected a wine from the list provided. The waitress returned and apologised that the chosen wine wasn't available along with a number of others. She offered an alternative which was a completely different type after about 15mins of backwards/ forwards it transpired that there was little or no choice of white wine available in the upto £25 price category. By now the evening was deteriorating rapidly and we hoped that the meal itself would improve things. Starters were very good however the rib eye steak that followed was very poor and almost 50% fat. What actual meat that was on the cut was good but finding a decent piece amongst the sinue was proving difficult. I've eaten rib eye in similar establishments before but none as poor as this one. After finishing our meals we felt it best to cut our losses and leave without taking desserts/coffee. To be fair the waitress was most apologetic throughout the evening and couldn't do enough to try improving our experience. The wine that we reluctantly ended up with not charged for which was probably the only positive thing about what will be our last visit to Dish. What a let down..!!

Ate here on a deal which was excellent value at £20.90 for two people for three courses and a glass of wine. The restaurant downstairs is really nice and spotlessly clean, they took our coats on arrival and promptly sat us down with the menu which was a set menu for the jazz evening with around 3/4 choices per course. The food and wine was really lovely and the musicians were really good and not intrusive. The female waitress who was mainly behind the bar was very good, however the male waiters weren't as attentive and they seemed to be struggling despite the restaurant only having around 6 full tables. They never made eye contact and spent the evening at various intervals wandering around filling up water glasses, whilst taking away the empty alcoholic glasses and not asking if you would like another drink. I had to go up twice to the bar to get anyone's attention because no-one was paying us any attention. Only a small gripe though and I definitely would return as I think the set menu at £20.90 per person with a glass of wine is reasonable price for the standard of food we received.

Took a chance and just wandered in to see if there were any available tables and luckily there was, nicely furnished restaurant with very attentive staff, quite a small menu but everything on it sounded delicious, our meals were delicious (duck and 5 things from a pig)and then finished off with the desserts, all of them in miniature,a very enjoyable evening with food and a couple of drinks each for £60 (10% service charge already added) something I don't like,I would rather tip on service received but as I've said service was excellent so no problem with it

We visited this restaurant last night to celebrate my fiances birthday. From walking in we could tell it was going to be a good evening, the barman was welcoming and helped with our choice of cocktails (delicious).Downstairs in the dining area the matre d took our coats and guided us to our table which was reserved for 7pm. We told him we had a voucher and we were given the appropriate menu, to be fair this was smaller than the main one but we had no problem choosing from it.Our food was beautifully cooked and presented well and tasted divine. Neither one of us could find fault with anything. The waiters/waitress's were friendly, respectful and very attentive. There were jazz musicians playing which totally made our experience at this lovely restaurant so enjoyable. The whole ambience was brilliantI will recommend the Dish to all my friends and will look forward to returning there soon.

We had heard Dish does a Jazz night on Thursdays. Quality Live music? We are in! We parked at the Trinity car park, a bargain for £3 a night and better, Dish is just to the left as you come out of the car park! On the ground floor, there is a bar. The only thing we noticed is very little advertising the restaurant downstairs, if you are coming from Boar Lane. Anyway, we went downstairs to the dining room and the decorations are perfect. Not too much but just enough to make thing cosy. Nice modern tables with no annoying table cloths and I loved the glasses! Coats taken and we were sat down. We arrived at the jazz musicians interval. The menus are very interesting. A great selection of wines and cocktails. And the modern British dishes made us think quite a bit before settling down for a dish. Drinks arrived in a timely manner. My boyfriend chose the pigeon breast started and I chose the game filo pastry. For main course, he decided for 5 things from a pig and I for the duck. We both got a side order (garlic mash for me and triple cooked chips for him). The food arrived and it wowed us in its presentation but even more so in its flavour. All were perfectly cooked and the flavours were superb. We absolutely cleared our plates. During all of this time, the jazz musicians ensured the atmosphere was flawlessly elegant. We were then offered the dessert menu and decided for an assiette of desserts to share. Again, sublime food, from the liquid chocolate cake to the apple tarte tatin, we loved it all. The service was very attentive but non intrusive as well. We passed the offer of tea or coffee due to being late evening. All in all, we had a very well paced, not rushed and enjoyable evening, serenaded by jazz musicians and we could thoroughly enjoy our delicious meals while talking (the live music allowed us to talk without having to shout, great!!!)We would recommend it and most certainly will be going again.I have taken some photos of our food and drinks but unfortunately they are a bit too dark as I did not use flash (it would look even worse with it), so apologies it does not do it any justice.

My husband and I recently visited this restaurant and loved it. The welcome was warm and friendly from the barman upstairs. We ate downstairs and the food was absolutely first rate with a lot of choice. The restaurant manager was very attentive in a subtle professional way. I went there twice recently, first for a romantic anniversary meal, then with some friends for a quick pre-theatre meal. In both occasions I was not disappointed. The first time we had a full 3 course meal from the a-la-carte menu, the food was lovely and presented beautifully! When I tried the pre-theatre menu I was even more impressed, the food was really high quality and we paid so little in comparison!A good choice.

We were a little upset when we got there as the menu was different to the one shown when buyimg the wowcher, but we werent disappointed. The food was light but tasty, and the cheeseboard was to die for. the portions looked small (for us!) but actually were plenty. Also the house wine was really good. Not sure if we would pay full price - probably for a special occasion. The service was perfect, quick and attentive without being annoying throughout.

I visited here on a Friday evening recently with my cousin after hearing good reports and must say wasn't disappointed. On arrival the dining room downstairs is very nice (it would have been even nicer for a romantic date) as lights are quite dim and candles on table. The only thing was as we came early (6.15) there was only maybe our table and a couple of others so would have been better with a little more atmosphere. The waitress was a very sweet young girl and left us to chat (as we had not seen each other for a while). We finally ordered after opting for the early bird which for 3 courses with a glass of wine for just shy of £21 is excellent value, the white wine was very pleasant. Starters came out fairly quick – we both had chicken satay in peanut sauce, very tasty infact probably better than some Thai restaurants I have eaten in. Main course I had the corn fed chicken and my cousin had a seafood bisque type dish (sorry can’t remember exactly what it was just that it had clams in and a pesto sauce) my chicken was beautiful and cooked to perfection the sauce with it was nice although it was a little rich and had mushrooms and shallots in. For dessert mine was a chocolate mess (which had variety of cheesecake & other small chocolate desserts in) it was divine without been too sickly and my cousin had sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce and brandy snap ice cream cone. I must admit I did have a little food envy when I saw her dessert and did have a little try, again this was delicious. As I mentioned the waitress was very sweet and although was attentive during our meal (checking things were ok and drinks etc) was not overbearing. The bill arrived and it was £46 as a discretionary service charge of 10% was added which we happily paid as we were going to tip in any case as we both really enjoyed the food and the evening and left with full to go onwards for some cocktails. I would definitely return and would like to try the jazz night out on a Thursdays and see what that is like so its on my list to return with hubby in tow. :o)

We were staying at the Marriott nearby (not great) and were recommended to come to this restaurant. I'm glad we went. Atmosphere was trendy but also comfortable (these two things don't usually go together, at least not in London, my home city). The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming, possibly a bit too much (but this is so much better than being miserable and inattentive). What I mean is that we were constantly being asked if everything was fine...before we even got served. This got a bit annoying. There seemed to be hundreds of staff milling around looking busy, but I noticed that very few diners had any food at their table; it was Saturday, 8.30pm and full). Something not quite right about this.My starter of fried monk cheeks was absolutely delicious; much nicer than I had expected, and a decent sized portion for a starter (there are many restaurants in rip-off London where their main courses are smaller than this. So a good start. My wife was equally impressed with her pigeon starter. But her main course of duck was too rare and thick; rare meat has to be thinly sliced. (I notice that another recent reviewer had the same problem)I had the 5 pig main, which was OK but needs some side dish of greens or potato. The waitress told me beforehand that it would be fine on its own. The staff are well trained on how to serve and be courteous, but they appear to have little or no knowledge about the food .The vegan chocolate mousse was possibly the most unpleasant dessert I've ever had, but I wasn't tempted by what else was on offer; far too elaborate.Desserts (in fact, food in general) should be simple and delicious rather than interesting.I was surprised that my request for a camomile tea was not a successful one."We can't find any" was the response.Hmm!But we had a great evening. They just need to listen to and implement the constructive feedback from us very kind reviewers.Plenty to work on, but this place has real potential.

If the menu tasted as good as it read, this place would be a gem. The dining room is underground, which is strange, but the waitress was lovely and made up for her inexperience with buckets of charm. A supplier issue meant at least eight items on the menu were unavailable. As a starter the crayfish was a very bizarre dish indeed, and included gritty mushrooms. '5 things from a pig' was underwhelming, and poorly seasoned, main whilst the duck, had truly bizarre accompaniments. We did however get a free glass of Prosecco each due to the birthday in the party, which was a nice gesture. The atmosphere was a little lacking, and the background music very random (jazz, piano and Stereophonics?!). Overall an underwhelming and strange meal.

We visited here as a group of 7 for my Birthday Celebrations.Atmosphere was a bit lacking as the place was very quiet, but the bar staff upstairs were attentive and eager to please although it did take some time to get the drinks to us even though it was really quiet.Downstairs the waiting staff were very attentive and quick with service. All the starters arrived promptly and were very well presented and impressive. No complaints among our party as all were very tasty. The main courses were Mostly OK, with a few exceptions. The Lamb was received by one of our guests and proved to be a disappointment.I ordered the duck, what I received was very tough, even to cut through was difficult and then was very difficult to chew, my girlfriend tried it too and agreed, when I questioned the waiter this seemed to stump them. After a lot of 'umms' & 'awws' he agreed to take it back with the offer of steak in return. The waiter returned to my table and advised me that the chef had tried it and stated that this was how the duck was supposed to be. Now I am not one to send food back that often or to even be that picky with toughness of meet, but this was really tough and just unpleasant. I was asked how I wanted my steak and I advised medium rare and was told by the waiting staff that the chef would cook it medium as to have it medium rare would leave it the same as the duck. As the rest of my party were nearly done I agreed. what I received was an almost rare steak, which all the back and forth aside was quite tasty. The rest of our group really enjoyed there mains with the stand out dish being the venison which having tried a bit was so tender and delicious. The only quip being with the size of the dishes being on the small side, no sides were offered. The saving grace, my girlfriend had rung ahead and asked for a chocolate cake to me made and brought out for dessert as a birthday surprise....the cake was amazing, a huge cake and well decorated.Overall the Dining experience was ok, but I think communication between waiting staff and kitchen could be improved and the knowledge of the waiting staff on the food being served could be a lot better. as to get a statement back that the duck is supposed to be tough and chewy (especially for the price) is just not acceptable.

We ate here on a Saturday evening as a party of 4. The upstairs bar was absolutely rammed with non-diners so not a pleasant spot for a pre-dinner cocktail. We went straight to our table downstairs. It was incredibly warm downstairs - it was a hot day but I'm not sure if there was a problem with the air conditioning. The first thing the waitress told us was that at about 10.15pm they would start clearing tables from the restaurant as it became a bar later on, however, fortunately we'd be able to keep our table! Not really what we were expecting! The food was OK but there were various issues that were less than impressive:- an earwig in one of the water glasses- we ordered a bottle of wine and then asked for a second only to be told we'd just drunk the only bottle of that wine they had in the restaurant- one of our party is vegetarian and ordered one of the two vegetarian dishes on the menu - 10 minutes later the waitress returned to say they couldn't do that particular dish (although they did offer an alternative vegetarian dish from a different menu)- given the heat in the restaurant we'd have liked to have a bottle of water on the table but instead had to keep asking for our glasses to be topped up- we were only given 2 dessert menus between the 4 of us as the waiting staff couldn't find any more menus (and the restaurant was nowhere near full)At these prices, I would expect more.

Visited with a mate and thoroughly enjoyed it despite it being a quiet Wednesday evening. Some of the most well thought - out veggie food I've had in a long time e.g. 'Scotchless Egg' and not a goat's cheese tart in sight! Plus lovely creative desserts ('egg and soldiers'!)This was all topped off with wonderful service (the waitress offered us free wine when the one we chose wasn't available.) Good to see posh nosh places taking veggie food as seriously as meaty stuff. Highly recommended.

We had a reservation for two on a Friday night at 6:30. With our typical promptness, we arrived at 6:45. The upstairs bar area was packed, so we were shown to our table straight away. It was an odd feeling to go from a heaving bar to the completely empty restaurant downstairs. In the ninety minutes we were there, not a single other person ate in the restaurant (on a busy Friday night) which made us feel slightly out of place. We ordered from the three-course fixed price menu. There was an offer for three courses and a glass of wine, which seemed like a good deal, so we asked for that for both of us. When we asked about the choice of wine, we were given a choice of two: a white (Chardonnay) or rose. No red. I declined the wine offer and opted for a beer. My partner, hating Chardonnay, decided on the rose. A few minutes later, she was told that there was no rose. Since the Chardonnay wasn't an option, she was given the choice of two slightly more expensive white wines, which was a fair compromise. I'm not sure how a restaurant managed to not t have their house red or rose in stock. When our starters arrived, the chicken teriyaki was absolutely lovely but the asparagus and poached eggs was less so. The asparagus was over-cooked and the egg under-cooked.Our mains were both nice: well presented and tasty. And desserts were both good, although the waitress forgot what one of the dessert options was (out of two) and simply described it as "it comes with ice cream and is very nice", before later remembering that it was sticky toffee pudding. Rather funny really.All-in-all, we had a mixed experience at Dish. The food and service were generally good, but there were mistakes, and the lonely dining experience was a little off-putting. So I don't know whether I'll return to Dish or not.

The food for Sunday lunch was tasty, and the kids Sunday lunch was spot on. However, the service was a little odd. We had a voucher, which I had mentioned at booking, and again when we arrived. The set menu options were clarified for us, but when the bill came we were told that they were not compatable with our prepaid living social value. When I mentioned that it would have been better had this been highlighted before we ordered I got a slightly affronted "would you really have ordered anything different" the answer was yes! I would have had two courses and a drink rather than the three courses with wine which looked such good value. I was then basically told to be grateful as I had been charged less for the wine and soft drinks than the list price (but had not been given the price at the outset, so again undermined the gesture). It's my second visit and the service was odd last time too (I was given a dish which was not what had been listed on the menu - changes to ingredients etc- and was told it was the chef's interpretation and I didn't know what I was talking about. But, as I said, the food is pretty good, and great value.

Went here yesterday with several friends, who had recommended it. We had a very ornate tea pot and charming tea cups filled with the most delicious cocktail. Two of use shared the teapot and had approximately 5 tea cups each. It cost £18, which for the quality and service we received, was an outstanding price. Lager and bottled beer and cider was also available, but I think it's speciality is definitely cocktails. If you are after a real ale pub, this is not the market nor should it be. My wife and I attended here last night (16/7/15) as part of a living social deal for food and jazz. We arrived and were greeted by a very welcoming bar tender upstairs who got us our drinks quickly and efficiently (only negative was a lack of bitter/cask ales but I guess that isn't there market) we then headed downstairs to a beautifully decorated restaurant and bar where we were shown to our table and comprehensively informed about our menu options by the courteous and polite waitress. After ordering our food we were left listening to the relaxed jazz music of 3 very talented musicians. Our starter arrived a short time later of char grilled asparagus and duck egg which was small but wonderfully tasty. Following this I had the corn fed chicken with pancetta and my wife the duck leg. Both were amazing and surprisingly well portioned compared to the starter. Our red wine we were given as part of the deal was terrific. Lastly we had the ginger sticky toffee pudding which again was very well proportioned. Throughout our meal the atmosphere was very calm and relaxed with some great background music and excellent service. The only negatives I would have is that it was slightly too dark and warm but considering it was 21 degrees outside I suppose there isn't much you can do about that. We shall be returning.

We visited this restaurant for the first time in its new location on Boar Lane for an express lunch. The whole experience was very disappointing. 1. The "express" lunch took far too long.2. We found a slug on the table (which must have come from the food), When we raised this with the restaurant they took no responsibility and acceoted no responsibility.3. One of our party was pregnant and specificically asked if the dish she wanted contained mayonnaise and was assured it did not. When the dish arrived it contained mayonnaise and again the staaf were dismissive and unhelpful. The replacement dish took another 10 minutes to arrive spoiling lunch.4. Although we complained the restaurant were not prepared to discount the bill and we barely had an apology - to the point that the chef was arrogant and only interested in us paying the bill rather than any notion of customer service.Food was ok but nothing spectacular - small portions.Overall well below the standard expected. We ate at DISH on their Thursday jazz evening but were a little disappointed. We had taken advantage of a special deal on offer but felt we were treated as inferior diners. We noticed several people were not given any bread on their table. We assumed, like us, they were on similar deals. The portion of food served to us was, by any standards , tiny. No accompanying vegetables unless we paid extra for them ( they were pricey ) . Presumably the purpose of offering these deals is to encourage people who have never visited the establishment to sample what's on offer and be encouraged to eat there again. It is bad business therefore to treat these diners as second class, and to give them anything less than a typical sample of what's on offer. We should all have been treated the same. The cost of a basket of bread is negligible in the scheme of things . The Jazz however was great and gave the restaurant a good atmosphere.

We attended last week and really enjoyed it, but unfortunately, today was not the same. The food was great, as was the lad on the carvery but he was on his own and this meant he had to replace the meat (twice) himself whilst there was a big lunchtime queue. There were plenty of staff working and it was nice to have a clean table to sit at but it would have been nice for someone to check in on the carvery, rotate the veg and get any replacement meats prior to them running out completely. The roast potatoes were rock hard but it was more an issue with the unnecessary carvery wait. I would have scored less today but as last week was so good, I went with 4. We will definitely attend again and just chalk today off as unfortunate.
