Dinner at Six in Stroud

Had the loveliest meal in a really relaxed setting, all 3 courses were delicious, we all said we have to keep coming back until we have tried everything on the menu. My one bit of advice would be to maybe not serve the wine on the menu next to where you can buy it on the shelf as the mark up is just looking you in the face.

We have had food delivered by Birch, probably half a dozen times now, initially it was for Christmas Day as someone recommended them to us. Every single delivery has been really good - miles better food than you would get in the usual pub food category, this is food that is far better than I can make at home, its excellent quality, interesting, colourful - we love Birch and cannot wait to visit in person.

In the past few weeks of lockdown three, we have treated ourselves to Birch’s special Valentines Night dinner which was delivered with full instructions for reheating and it was delicious. Since then, we have had a superb Sunday lunch delivered piping hot and ready to eat and then tonight we tried the Steak meal deal for 2 which was absolutely superb and excellent value. Thank you so much Team Birch - we can’t recommend you highly enough.

Excellent food (Ossobuco) and very accommodating of my special dietary needs. Thank you so much. Delivered to home. Only exception was the Cavolo Nero which we found a bit stringy and chewy. Not a great fan of that but that is just personal choice. Would have preferred Kale. Can highly recommend all 3 courses.

Been here twice now. The food and service are excellent. Such a lovely little gem of a place. Can’t wait to try the Sunday dinner. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous post lock-down meal. Great soufflé, breads and pork belly. Followed by excellent lamb, fish and chips, steak and arancini. Superb puddings as well sticky toffee and chocolate tart. Good service and an excellent meal.

Ever since discovering this amazing restaurant that offer a vast array of VEGAN options, I’ve not been able to resist. Not only do they offer a different option each week, but they are also so accommodating if you want to make any changes. Super friendly, amazing food and great value for money. 10/10 would recommend, I will be sure to visit as often as I can. 😍

Honestly one of the tastiest roast dinners I’ve ever had! Disappointed they didn’t have chicken I settled for pork and glad I did! Absolutely lovely food, crackling, Yorkshire, greens and creamy cheesy leeks. No apple sauce or parsnips but I’ll forgive you. Yummy roulade for dessert. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is the service was very very slow. We weren’t in a massive hurry but it took 45 minutes before our order was taken... will definitely return though! Very good price for an amazing roast dinner in the area.

We decided to try Birch's Sunday Roast takeaway. I have to say it was nigh on perfect. I can only assume it would be even better if sat in the restaurant dining. Portion size was good, in fact my wife could probably do with a children's portion. The Rhubarb & Stem Ginger crumble is to die for. The trifle could maybe do with a splash more sherry but that's personal taste. Thank you I will be recommending to all. Excellent service all around

My husband, dad and brother came into birch for a meal last night (Saturday) and we were all so impressed with this place. Service was friendly, efficient and really charming. The food was fantastic and the flavours were brilliant ! The price for the quality is excellent. Highly recommend!

Visited with a friend and had a really well cooked meal. My friend tried a Spanish dish which they said was gorgeous I had a light beautifully flavoured soufflé Really special and reasonable for the quality of food

Enjoyed a wonderful anniversary meal with my wife, the food was incredible but not just that! The service was amazing, all the waitresses were really friendly and we loved hearing from them about the chefs local and sustainable ethos. Lovely setting with dim and romantic lighting with a beautifully decorated restaurant. 10/10 would recommend and will absolutely be returning!

As a self acclaimed foodie i feel I know a thing or two about where to eat,and where I’m taking my guests. I and many of my friends have always loved dinner at six, and upon discovering it was closing last February we were lost for somewhere good to eat in Stroud. Luckily it hadn’t closed at all, it had a re-vamp and is better than ever. Could not recommend it more. You will not be disappointed.

We came here for our first visit to the farmers market and found Bitch. The staff were incredibly friendly and one member of staff was particularly kind in pointing out places near by to visit. The kids enjoyed breakfast and the coffee was pleasant.

Dinner at Six is no more, it closed a few weeks ago which is a pity. I believe it has reopened as some rather different but I've not tried it so rating suspended.

Well despite the name of the place, this is just the most perfect place for breakfast.We called in on a wet and cold Saturday morning, primarily because it was handy for the ever-wonderful farmers' market - and we certainly made a good choice. The place was heaving but the service was slick and friendly, and the breakfast - HuevosRancheros Tortilla - was utterly amazing. Just wish we were local and could go for dinner at 6 because I bet the evening menu is every bit as good. Looking forward to our next visit.

My friend took me out for evening dinner ..at six .After ordering some nice two glasses of wine we decide to go for 3 course menu . Starters goats cheese salad was really good fallow by two different mains confit of duck and steak finish with desserts chocolate and amoretti tart super and strawberry and elderflower jelly which just that didnt work for me overall it was good experience . We will be back again .

The food here is always great and presented beautifully I'm never disapointed with what I order. The service is generally very professional and friendly enough. I do like it here and will continue to come back. I can see why its seen as one of the best places in town!

Quick service. Tasty food. We had chicken livers parfait (rich and gamey) and chowder (creamy-yummy) for starters and steak and lamb. With a beer each and a tip it was £60. Steak... Well, try it...Finally tasty steak locally.Free generous serving of proper bread and olive oil-balsamic vinegar.Lamb - well seasoned and with a handful of wild mushrooms. Everything was lovely.Desserts looked nice on the internet but we were too full after starters and mains.Two negative points - beer not cold. Chowder a bit gritty - possibly a broken mussel shell.Other than that - well done, "Dinner at six"
