The food was nice but nothing more. We didn't feel full up anc went over to macdonalds and had a quick burger. Portions small for price and lacked flavour. China town or bang bangs better tastier food in my opinion. Service was good although we did have to ask twice for a couple of things.

We have been to Din Tai Fung in Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia and this is not on the same level. Service was mediocre and staff mumbled and seemed disinterested. Dumplings in spicy sauce were a bit tough and not spicy. The signature Xao Long Bao were lacking in soup, the pork cutlets with fried rice was lacking in seasoning. The restaurant itself is very uninviting, more like an exhibition space. If this is my first visit, I definitely will not be revisiting again!

I’ll try and be as fair as possible. Some of the food is good. The first thing to notice is that there are more westerners in there than Chinese/Taiwanese. That’s always a slight red flag for me. This area is full of Asian restaurants, so that was a surprise. The Xiao Long Bao are actually pretty good but overall the quality of the food and lack of real diversity (very limited to dumplings and not much else) gave rise to massive FOMO. I.e. why the hell didn’t we just go to Royal China or Shikumen? The difference is quite startling. The latter two restaurants run rings around this place. The food at Din Tai Fung is bland in comparison, Bao buns at DTF taste more like a sausage roll whereas the ones at Shikumen and Royal China are sumptuous and luxurious. This is not a place I would recommend going to if you’re expecting real quality dim sum. I get this is Taiwanese and so recipes differ from traditional Chinese dim sum, but for me, there is no comparison.

Ristorante molto carino e moderno in una bella zona di Londra, splendida la vista dalla parete vetrata sulla piazza. Servizio cortese ed attento, ottimo cibo in particolare i ravioli al vapore davvero deliziosi.

The space is good and it was nice to be surrounded by families and friends catching up, but the service was a bit hit and miss but more importantly the food was very so so. I ordered the usual dishes I would order in China and these were a very poor imitation. Not very tasty and very expensive. The pu’er tea even came in a bag in a mug! Not to be repeated.

"I invited my friend to celebrate his birthday and first time at the restaurant. It was a bad choice and experience. The service was not as what I expected and the food served way too long after the order was placed. We tried to eat other dishes slowly while waiting for the Xiao Long Bao but it was served way too long when we were about to nearly finished the other dishes. The staff especially an Indian girl and black tall guy (not being racial) don’t looked happy and their face expressions are not so bland. When asked for chilli oil from the same Indian girl, she just don’t care to what you want and she never give it to you. Then I asked for a second time from the same girl again and again she is just don’t care! Why the hell I have to pay for the service charges where I had been served badly. What a costly bad experience to celebrate birthday at. What a shame.

Amazing xiao lung bao in a variety of flavours but I like the classic pork one the best. They're all finely crafted. The desert taro xiao lung bao is also amazing. The dumplings and noodles were also very delicious. Wonderful ambience and great service.

Excellent Chinese food. The restaurant had a real buzz about it. The food was excellent. We arrived just before 11 and we were seated and served before the kitchen and bar were shut. The staff were very helpful without being over bearing. Definitely somewhere I would eat again.

Comunque esperienza positiva e cibo very good

From start to finish it was hard to fault anything. We had an 11am slot, better as restaurant quiet and service very attentive and food still hot when served. Engaging and friendly staff, we had some starters, stand out the oriental salad, honey ribs and wantons with chilli. All the Xiu Long Bao were good, the pork the best. Lovely Gavi wine a good pairing. We would certainly return

Having heard rave reviews on social media of this place, we have been eager to try this to see what all the fuss was about. Disappointing is all I can say!! The food was bland, and most dishes had pork in them. The fried rice was below average, tasteless! The so called cucumber salad was disappointing, chunks of cucumber in a plate with some tasteless sauce. Even the chilli oil lacked spice! The bao buns were very disappointing as the fillings were minced meat and not proper shredded pork or chicken. I wouldn’t waste my time going back to eat here as there are other dim sum places that do tastier food. Don’t always get enticed by social media! The hype is not always a true reflection of a restaurant. The only thing I enjoyed was the cocktail that I ordered.

The food is so shockingly bland. The dumplings have so little flavour. You can't get any fish or prawns without pork in it. The vege options are just dreadful. Brocolli, greens or salads. No fish options. The broccoli in garlic has no taste of garlic and just tastes as if just boiled. The bill came to over a hundred pounds for 3 people for very little food of 5 dishes. Wish we had not gone. The only good thing is the interior is very nice.

Owing to this location's deteriorating quality as of late, I have been wary of dining in but decided to give the restaurant a second chance by ordering take away. As a person with a gluten allergy, I asked the staff to remove gluten from the dishes. The manager not only insisted that they could not accommodate my request, but that they also could not cancel the order on UberEats, and so I decided to cancel it from my end after they continued to feign ignorance. Little did I know that they had the full power to cancel my order, which would have given me a full refund: instead, I was still charged 90% of the order that ultimately went to the restaurant. The manager should be ashamed on their behavior and I urge any potential patron to dine at any of the plethora of Chinese Restaurants for a guaranteed better experience.

Large restaurant. Entrance to 1st floor above the Arcade Hall not obvious so needed to ask staff in Centrepoint reception. Food good but more expensive than Chinatown. Service very good.

This is not only a superb venue but a really memorable place to eat. It was lovely to see families, groups and couples all able to dine in peace, looked after by a lovely service team and served excellent meals. I would highly recommend a visit. It's not cheap, but the quality and ambience makes the difference.

We have dined at Din Tai Fung mainly times in Dubai and we were excited to the try one of their London restaurants. We received a lovely welcome on the ground floor and then proceeded upstairs to the restaurant. We were early for our table and enjoyed a couple of drinks on the bar. The restaurant has amazing views over Oxford St. we ordered a number of dim sum dishes and a couple of plates dishes. As expected the dishes arrived when they were ready … hot and fresh. The taste was authentic and consistent with what we had experienced before. The service was ok … it was extremely busy in restaurant, after a short period our order was taken. The cost of the meal for 2 including 2 cocktails £86. I think this is acceptable given the quality of the restaurant … if you are cheap Asian food then China Town maybe 10% cheaper but service and quality will not be the same. Overall we had an enjoyable lunch and I would def visit again. This is a very busy restaurant - booking in advance is advisable.

We arrived after the rush hour excited to try it. Ordered various starters mains and were asked if they can bring when each dish ready we said yes. Tea came in a mug no teapot. They poured some soya sauce vinegar and took it away - normally soya sauce bottle left on table. My partner ordered two portions dumplings 5 each different . We ordered soup with noodles and meat plus other dumplings. My partner got only one portion of 5 dumplings. We asked a waiter where is the rest after having waited 30 mins. He said it hand made takes time. After an hour - seems he didn’t check it was being made - we asked again. We had finished eating but my partner was still waiting. They then said was given to some other table. At the end the waiter said woujd take the price of 5 dumplings off ! Well we never got it. Why pay for something we never got? The restaurant wasn’t even busy Obviously

Our server tried really hard but there were no where near enough staff and no one else was supporting him. Everything was slow service wise from the very beginning - took ages to get a drink whilst waiting for the table, then ordering took a while, food was slow to come out and some food took ages to arrive, gave up on dessert which took so long we cancelled it and left. Had to physically go to cashier to pay as all staff ignored our request for the bill. Have visited Din Tai Fung many times in London and Hong Kong and this was by far the worst experience and very disappointing. Service charge should have been taken off our bill as it was very bad despite the efforts of our server.

Never leave a deposit for this company. It's been over 2 weeks now, and despite being told by the group bookings contact that the deposit will be returned when the bill is settled, it still has not been returned. This is causing me serious financial difficulties (as someone who does not live in the UK, and despite reaching out to the restaurant, no answer has been forthcoming. Additionally, despite making it very clear that two of our party were Muslim, and their dietary requirements would need to be taken care of, this message was not passed onto the waiting team.

It is overpriced and very bland taste. Dan Dan noodle taste like noodles mixed with peanut butter and soy sauce. Sticky rice shaped mai was also nothing to write home about And it tastes like steam sticky rice mixed with pork. I can do that easy in instant pot for a fraction of the price and can make it more tastier. Fried peashoot Dou miao with prawns was nice. Possibly could do with a little more salt or soy sauce. The staff are very friendly and the service is good. They are busy and they look after the customers very well. Not a place that I would be eating again.

We booked for our anniversary, we were greeted so politely by each staff member that served us. Our main server was Thomas and he was just lovely! Service was so quick, our drinks were never empty and our table was full of our food! We ordered abit of everything and shared, everything we ate was just so delicious and so worth the money! We will definitely be returning

We came across this Korean restaurant in the Holborn area just as our stomachs started growling after a full day of sightseeing. Accessed by a staircase at street level, the restaurant occupied the basement of the building above. Our initial impressions were good, helped no doubt by the slightly dim lighting which offered a touch of anticipation. Alas, the food did not quite meet up with our lofty expectations. Don't get me wrong - it was quite tasty, and Korean food is usually deceptively filling. Between the four of us, we had several stews, and hot plates of chicken and beef, all of which came with an accompaniment of unpolished rice (a nice healthier touch). Although reasonably satisfying, the food wasn't going too much to write home about. Service was average at best, and prices were a little on the high side for the size of the portions, but then, restaurant prices in London are on the high side in general.

Excellent, subtle ramen very conveniently located for those awaiting a train at St Pancras. I was less impressed by the boa the restaurant is named for: enjoyable but not really worth the price. 5* secured by a superb, in-house dark beer that suited the beef perfectly.

I used to come to this place a very long time ago when I lived in London. It seems almost as popular as it ever was. I’m not surprised as as Hare & Tortoise offers good value and consistent quality. It’s wonderful to know that after all these years I can still get a curry laksa or Singapore rice noodles dish just as delicious as I remember.
