Placed order at 19:58pm to not receive food until 21:30pm after saying on app that it’d been delivered, called restaurant to be told “I’ve already given it to the driver, let me call him” to be left on the other end of the phone for over 10 minutes, resulted in ending the call. 159 times I’ve called the restaurant. When food eventually arrived. Chips was half cooked and clearly been under a heat lamp for a long period of time. Naan bread cold. Overall experience was horrendous. Our first time ordering & can 100% say we won’t be ordering again!!!!! Tried contacting them to raise issue/complaint, no answer. Complained through the food hub, nothing! Absolute shambles.

Best curry goin but the delivery service is appalling. Need to get more delivery drivers 2 hour wait for food

order regularly from here. food very good and no issues regarding delivery times. our last order on the 21st was 20 minutes early. we use their own website to order.

Never usually order an Indian as they’re all the same bland rubbish but this one! WOW my gran is bed bound and when I let her sample some of my butter chicken she arose and did a backflip and started twerking to ice spices “think u the shi” (absolute bop btw) Anyway butter chicken was amazing and garlic naan was stunning highly recommend especially if you need your nan to be active again

The food from here is second to none. However, delivery times and customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Was advised delivery would be 1hr 30mins. Ended up being 2hrs 30mins. Upon calling them to enquire where the food was, phone was put down on me twice. Upon delivery, driver just left it outside the front door on the floor?! Opened the door just as delivery guy was getting back into his car and he was gesticulating and throwing his arms in the air? Bit odd? My take on it is that if you pay up front, they’re not interested in delivering as soon as they should as they already have your money. Poor. Won’t be ordering from here again. But as I say, if you’re prepared to wait an age for the food, it is very nice.

Amazing food. Good sized portions. Not been able to find a good Indian since moving to Rotherham, but was passing through Barnsley and called in here, will happily drive there and back now for a great takeaway. Staff incredibly friendly toom

My no 1 go to, for Indian cuisine always get keema rice, frequently get dansak and or rogan, and just try something else too. This place doesn't do FAST food it does GOOD food. Love it.

Absolutely the best Indian take away. The food is delicious and filling, they have never missed with how amazing the food is. Have ordered many different curries and they have all been fantastic. The delivery time is often around an hour but it is worth it for the food being cooked fresh.

I have bought meat , chicken and chicken tikka biriyaani it was soo good and especially chicken tikka biriyani was so tasty , if you are a biriyani lover i would strongly suggest this place to buy biriyani.💞

Amazing food, never had a bad experience. staff are so friendly and make us feel so welcome honestly the best Indians around. We wouldn’t go away where else and we travel all the way from Rotherham because nothing beats it

When/If the food arrives it will indeed be very good. But.. It gets later and later. 1 and half hours is standard, 2 and half hours today and they forgot the mango chutney. So for that reason. I'm out! I will miss you Dilshad

Order early if you would like to eat before 9.30pm, ordered at 7pm and was still waiting for food at 9.30pm. Fobbed off every time we rang.

Just ordered for the first time at this Takeaway and my gosh it was superb!!! I’m extremely fussy when it comes to curry and this delightful takeaway did not disappoint!!! The food was flavourful and all round fantastic and was made exactly how I asked for it!! Thank you once again!!!

Firstly, the food here is excellent and I've never been disappointed with anything I've eaten from here. That's where the praise ends though. Last night over two and a half hours for delivery. Ordered at 7.10 and arrived 9.45, nowhere near what you'd expect. Going to bed just over an hour after you've eaten just isn't good enough. The first phonecall we made was at 9pm to ask where it was, to be told it was ready they just waiting for driver. We phoned again at 9.30 to ask why we'd still not had it, and was hung up on. If this was the first time we'd had long delivery times then we'd put it down to experience as we have in the past, but it's always over 2 hours. It won't put me off ordering from there in future, but we will have to order a lot earlier in future. If we are later ordering then we certainly won't be choosing Dilshad and will look elsewhere.

Called here by pure chance and I’m so glad we did. Friendly staff and the food….absolutely beautiful. Been searching years for the perfect Indian takeaway and finally found it - SUPERB ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Order delivered to wrong address however when I phoned them their support was second to none. Food redelivered within 20 minutes and perfect. The only unfortunate thing is that a local house to ours with a similar address keeps accepting the food I have paid for instead of redirecting it. Thank you though Dilshad for reacting so quickly!

We tried for the first time and what a gem, we will sure to be returning very soon. We ordered direct with the takeaway and the guy who answered the phone was so polite and helped with vegetarian recommendations which was really helpful. It arrived colourful and full of flavour and I am so happy to find somewhere local that is literally 10/10

We have used this Takeaway a few times now and looked at the revues before we placed our first order as you do most are moans about the late delivery times but not many moans about the food well i can tell you we have found them to be first class in Delivery times and the Quality of the food is fantastic have tried a lot of Indian takeaways over the years but Dilshad is by far the best for us Thanks guys @ Dilshad keep up the good work

Food is always piping hot and cooked to perfection. If you like your food cooked with a thicker sauce or more/less herbs or spices then this is the place to go. Tell them how you like it and that's how they'll cook it. A very varied menu. Something for everyone's taste. If you like something a little less spicy, they do a cracking omelette too. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble. The staff are amazing. So friendly and attentive. Prices are extremely competitive and suit any pocket. Very busy and popular place so order early if your hungry and can't wait. Collection time is fine. Remember, if it's quick it's not always worth it 👌 The tastiest food you will find

Dilshad was always a brilliant place to order from so with heavy heart I'm giving you bad review this time. We placed our order at 5pm it's 20.14 we rung you 3 times each time you said food will be with you in 5 minutes last call we made was now 30 min ago and you not answering your phone. And this is the bit you really disappointed us as a business guys you can't just not answer your phone!we paid you almost £40 for the food that never arrived. Why not just to be honest if just said you behind with orders, you've got delivery issues, anything... But to switch off your phone to not to face your customers that's a massive no no. And sadly for that reason we will not come back to your again.

Not impressed at all! Ordered last night, almost 2 hours for delivery. Chips always seem like warm up, my curry contained sliced chicken from a supermarket sandwich pack, not tandoori and certainly not a speciality! Would hate to see your basic! Won't be using again

Best tasting Indian food in my area, can't beat them at all. The biggest thing that let's them down are the delivery times. All deliveries are after 7pm it seems, and have around a 2 hour waiting time. By the time we've eaten, it's almost bed time.

Best curry in Barnsley. onion bahjis are by far the best I've ever had. Always an hour delivery but well worth the wait

Terrible service, ordered over 2 hours ago and still no delivery. Unable to contact Dilshad as obviously the phone has been taken of the hook. No idea if it will ever arrive and I’m £30 down:!!!!! Shocking customer service, my advice, avoid at all costs!!!!

This is a really nice Indian but when you order food for 1 person at 7:30pm and it doesn’t arrive until 10pm it’s kinda bad.

Absolutely shocking. Continually late when ordering. If you want something to eat make sure you book at 3 in the afternoon. The food is great just let down by their Continually late delivery. Ordered at 8pm comes at 22:33 on numerous occasions

Complete waste of time , the food is gorgeous but delivery times take the piss 3 hrs and 30 minutes for it to come and to be cold , after loads of phone calls and lied to we sent it back and it wasn't the 1st time but we thought we give them another chance , lost our custom now and our orders are always over £40 ya need to buck ya ideas up or be honest and give the customer the option to wait or not

First ever order yesterday and was very impressed. Friendly and quick service. Food was very tasty, by far the best curry I've had in years. Plenty of good sized chicken tikka pieces in both curries and the onion bhajis were great too.

Absolutely disgusting!!!!! I live 5 minutes from this place and the food was clap cold. It wasn't fit for my dog!!! Ordered the mixed kebab starter and it was a joke.

Just had my first order from here. Meat Pathia with a peshwari naan. A little bit oily, but the flavours were very good. The naan bread was beautifully cooked and delicious to eat. The portion size was impressive the curry came in a huge aluminium foil tub. Would have given it one more star if the curry was less oily. Recommend you give it a try

Ordered at 8 15 they said 1 hour for delivery rang at half 9 said they was waiting for a driver rang again at 5 to 10 for them to say they would ring the driver left on hold its now 10 15 so 2 hours later still no food tried ringing 35 times its constantly engaged I've paid 35 pound for food not happy at all would have understood if they said they was busy and not said 1 hour for delivery

Although the food is amazing here, no matter what time you say you would like the food for you ALWAYS end up waiting an extra 20 minutes at least. Please don't say it'll be ready to pick up at the time requested if it isn't going to be. Apart from that, the food is great.

Would really love to give this 5 stars but after a 2 and half hour wait they still didn’t bring all the order but what they did bring was one of the best I’ve had... please sort the delivery times out and it would be 5 stars all the way!!!!

Ordered at 3pm on just eat, restaurant opens at 6 and delievery starts at 7:30, estimated delivery was 7:50, it's currently an hour late with no way to get in touch. I'm convinced they've taken the phone off the hook as I've been calling non stop for the past 10 minutes, if they would've let us know it would be this late we would have happily picked the order up. We don't even want it anymore we've gotten past the point of hunger Edit: I made this review while me and my heavily pregnant partner were extremely hangry, ended up going to the shop and getting a full refund and not accepting the food, which they were nice enough about. Although the delivery took too long I know the food is spot on as we've ordered a few times before, thought one star was a bit unfair. Some work is needed on staffing and delivery times on a weekend though

ordered through their online site. tandoori rezzala, rogan josh mushroom rice nan bread and a mixed kebab starter. both chicken dishes were very good . delivered on time by the regular driver, cannot fault these guys.

Wouldn't even give them 1 star but seeing as I had to, ordered a delivery at 6.45pm and at 10pm still waiting for food to arrive, tried ringing shop but obviously the not so fantastic staff have chose to take the phones off the hook.......... Was a regular customer but won't be after tonight

Dreadful experience, ordered food before 6.00pm and told to expect delivery before 8.00. After being lied to at 8.40pm with a promise of food being only 5 - 10 minutes away we eventually gave up at 9.35 and decided to use a reliable provider. Dishonest, misleading and uncaring takeaway. Never again Dilshad, your number is deleted from our providers.

Best Indian (well, Bangladeshi...) in Barnsley. Food is always top notch and fresh, always arrives hot and well packaged. Customer service is bang on as well. Bit pricey but you get the quality to back it up so can't complain there really!

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the place ordered over 3 hours ago on Just Eat App and had nothing delivered. Rang 20+times and not answering. Had to go on just eat to complain which is a nightmare to do. Avoid this place

We had our first meal from Dilshad last night and it was perfect. We've tried a variety of Indian takeaways over the years and each was good at certain things but not others. Last night everything was excellent. We've finally found our "Go To" takeaway. Thank you.

A truly authentic experience of traditional bangladeshi cuisine. If amazing food is what you are after then you won't be disappointed!

Had 3 take away from them over lockdown- always really nice food, can really recommend the king prawn bhuna which has become a firm favourite- the staff are really nice and helpful.

Line was busy so we ordered through just eat. Waiting time was much less than they advertised. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the mixed grill tandoori and the chicken and paneer special. Lovely rich sauce and beautifully cooked meat. Excellent!

I ordered a delivery from the Dilshad for my parents for Father’s Day. My dad was thrilled as he absolutely loves the Dilshad and has missed visiting during lockdown. They really enjoyed the meal - fab food and there was a lovely surprise gift for my dad too. Everyone who I have corresponded with has been do friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for making this special for my dad who I have not been able to see for a long time! Jo 😊

We have had meany meals from this establishment and have always been 5star we have Recommend you to all our friends. But tonight my husband called and placed an order on his way home from work as it was my birthday, I was so looking forward to the prawn dish I order but it came and it was chicken 😔. My main meal contained,strips of lamb stir fried ,witched was very very chewy . We have never had other than today a bad take away from this place it's always been amazing,but when you are expecting prawns and you get chicken . I was very very disappointed, otherwise the rest of the meal was great

Absolutely thee best Indian takeaway iv had. Me and my partner are new to the area and we thought we would try here for date night during lockdown. And we wasn't disappointed!! Yes you wait a while for delivery however quality over speed is always a must for us. We will definitely be reordering and will tell family and friends to order from here too

Very good tradition Indian takeaway. Just how Indian food should taste with great taste. Good quality and cooked fresh instead of other places around that have just one sauce base and every curry tastes the same. Would return to dilshad as a regular customer. I'd say its one of the best Indian takeaways in barnsley

This is the best Indian takeaway in Barnsley, the food is great, authentic Indian food. Can take a little longer to get your food when that are busy, but well worth the wait.

Great place, the menu is great with a good selection. The quality of the meat is superb everything was cooked to perfection. Will defo be coming back. Very simple website to order through as well. No complaints at all. Portions were a very good size, all four of us were very pleased

I am always looking for new Indian takeaways to try & after seeing their great reviews, I thought I’d give these guys a try.If you order via their APP, you get a discount, which is great if the food was any good!We ordered three different curries & they all tasted the same. A slightly sweet taste, with a hint of coconut. One was slightly hotter with the addition of some green chilli, but they were all basically the same. Very disappointing, would not recommend.

My go to place for a great indian takeaway! My only gripe would be that everything seems to be over spiced (as in quite hot) even if I leave a note on the order saying I prefer it mild it will still turn up spicy. Very tasty, arrives piping hot, usually early but sometimes on rare occasions can be late. I now use their app where you eventually earn a 20%discount. Well done Dilshad

good curry polite on phone and at the door when delivering. balti methi mirch meat and balti garlic chicken rice and breads all very good... and a sneaky mixed kebab all went down very well...... writing this makes me want to order again haha

Delivery can be a little slow at times but I can wait for a top quality curry!. mains are all really really nice and not greasy slop like I have been custom to in Barnsley. Delivery drivers are nice and pleasent. They advise you to use there app for discount. Just has the edge on Tandori Hut which was my previous best.

Very good food had this takeaway several times had one bad experience that the takeaway manger fixed with no hassle and offered me a free meal for my trouble. The food always tastes fresh and the curry’s always have a variety Of ingredients, we have sampled several curry’s and enjoyed each of them. We both eat curry’s regular and to find a takeaway of this standard is great.
