Friendly staff, although the premises aren't suitable for 6ft plus, mind your head. The food is exactly what you ask for.

What a waste of money! They did not listen to our online order at all. We asked for 4 of our kebabs to be in turkish bread (which is why we go here beause of the turkish bread), all of them came in a dry hard pitta bread which we couldnt eat as was so hard. The chips were very overcooked and the salad tasted like it has been left out all day.

They used to be best kebab shop. But they're forgetting our drinks, mixing food up, forgetting sauces we asked for, then yesterday what were those chips my goodness. It was like when you order a take away and try and eat the chips the next day and they are stale and rank. This shop was good once, now appears to be really unorganised. Please sort it out and get back to how you were. My wrap looked so much smaller than normal barely any salad either. 'all salad' means all salad not just a tiny bit of lettuce and cabbage.

i entered the kebab shop at approx 8.50pm saturday night 27/07/24 and asked for a mixed kebab and one of the many voices from behind the counter shouted rather angrily we only do doner kebabs,so i said give me a doner kebab then paid and sat down,stared at the menu behind counter where i saw mixed kebab on the menu..anyway i took my order home and opened the bag expecting a classic doner with meat/salad & chilli sauce on top but no i had donor meat in the pitta a round plasic pot of chilli sauce and a square plastic tub of salad with no lemon wedge so that was the 1st disappointment..eating it brought on a whole new level of woe..donor meat was bland and absolutely and i mean absolutely tasteless,chilli sauce was bland and salad had that musty taste like supermarket salad in a bag, four mouthfulls and i threw the lot in the bin..i havent been to this kebab shop in over twenty years when the lovely pleasant boggly eyed chap behind the counter made excellent kebabs..i will never go there again for any style of food they might sell

By far the best Kebab in Colchester, super fresh and tasty. We have always gone in to collect food which has been an easy process and never had to wait. Ordered for the first time online over the weekend and it was a really quick delivery. 5stars

If I could give 0 stars I WOULD!! The place is vile..... chips had bit of random old doner meat in it.... also chips were stale with a bit of cheese stringing across them. Burger was inedible I dread to think what sort of meat they are using .. stale bun, old brown lettuce. Chilli sauce so watery I didn't even want to try it. Delivery takes so long and customer service shocking, with rude staff. DO NOT recommend eating from here.. stay clear and don't waste your money

Minimum order has gone up, delivery has gone up, less food being delivered and cold. Hope this is just a blip or something wrong with the website or sadly will not be ordering again, shame my favourite in Colchester.

I have always ordered from here for delivery Stanway and has always said spend 15 pound or more for free delivery went to order tonight and I can understand maybe adding a few pound on extra for delivery but to add 10 pound in to deliver is absolutely shocking doesn’t cost this for fuel this place has definitely gone down hill

Donna kebab doesn’t taste like there’s any lamb in it kebabs are supposed to be lame only when mixing other mates as well gave me a bad stomach

Been using Dilans many many years now. Never ever had a bad one. Always great food. But a shame just eat and deliveroo seem to be making it tough on the phone orders at times(like its doing with all the food places). I now only go in and order. Otherwise cant recommend them enough

Simply the best Kebab in town. The flavour of the meat is delicious. My wife has the Spicy Chicken Shish and I have the Lamb Shish. We have it in Turkish Bread. The staff are friendly too. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is that their salad that comes with the kebabs is very disappointing. In their salad box, you only get one small slice of cucumber and tomato and only one chilli. Just isn't enough. You do get cabbage, onion and lettuce but needs more cucumber, tomato and chilli.

Ordered large meat and chips it was large chips I'd agree with that however portion of meat was ridiculous I wouldn't even call it a small wouldn't feed a kid the prices they charge for the size of portion is ridiculous for the same price with ali bbq house get double the amount with ali I also collected my own food as I live 2 mins away got home and kebab was cold chips was hot Also got a chicken wrap which tasted awful the chicken meat had some really nasty jelly kind of bits this place use to be alright however will never order here again

Just ordered tonight paid nearly £8 for a chicken wrap and I didn't even eat it tasted absolutely disgusting almost threw up. My partner ordered a large kebab and chips and it was stone cold and rock hard only enough meat to feed a child and the customer service was disgraceful do not buy from here not recommended

Will be the last time we get Kebab from here . One of the driest Kebabs I’ve ever had and was all cold literally everything from the chips to the kebabs and the pitta was like a rock . It used to be good from here a couple years ago but now it’s gone down the pan . Won’t ever be getting this again

Bought 3 kebabs here last week and only received 1 salad for them. Woman who served was surly and unfriendly. Meat was dry and Pitta was overcooked. Will avoid in future. Real shame as this used to be good.

On Wednesday evening I visited Dillen Kebab, food was not upto the expectation. In the past, always I had very good food. Service also was very bad. I don't want to have such experience.

We've ordered from Dilan before quite a few times and taken orders at the take away. When it comes to Just-Eat the service has been terrible recently. Two nights in a row they have accepted orders on Just-Eat, only to cancel them due to no drivers. It's an easy system to use, and it's easy to not accept an order if you don't have an available driver. The issue is simple, not only do we end up ages waiting for the business to let us know finally that the order has been cancelled (we usually order late, which means some other businesses have stopped delivering by the time we know) but because it can take a refund a while, it makes finances annoying if we end up ordering again.

Ordered online only to get a call to say that they can’t deliver to me because of roadworks and traffic which at 1630 is next to nothing. Never had a problem before, told me to collect (wouldn’t have ordered a delivery if I could collect). Wasn’t bothered when I told them I wouldn’t order again, seems to me that they have no value for customers.

We collect from this restaurant and I cannot fault the food. We have always had a nice meal and the chips are the best in Colchester!! The staff are very friendly and make us feel like valued customers. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!

We had dilans special which was very good. Spoilt only by the pitta bread being rock hard. Which just makes it inedible.

I have used Dilans for years. Today my daughter treated me to a cebab with salad and chips. The salad was off and ransid and the chips were not good either. Its put me off for life. I wont bother again.

Absolutely shocking, usually really impressed. Grease on another level, missing salad with part of the order (apparently I'm a liar it was definitely there .... not), chips no flavour and a smaller portion then we ordered. Will avoid from now on.

Excellent kebab house probably the best in Colchester. Best to order for collection as they are always busy.

Usually this kebab house promptly delivers good quality food. On this occasion, our order took an hour and a half to arrive (despite the Just Eat app saying it was out for delivery 40 minutes before received). We only live 0.9 miles away. We called twice and received unsatisfactory explanations for the delay and a general confusion concerning whether the food had actually left the shop - apparently it was "the boy's fault". When received, the chips and onions rings (which have previously been good) were soggy and lukewarm. The chicken kebabs were good. I have previously reviewed this kebab shop higher but standards have clearly dropped despite the prices increasing significantly and the size of the portions decreasing significantly.

Ordered a kebab, and it all comes separate, you have to make it yourself which was a bit odd. Service with a smile.

This is my favourite kebab shop in Colchester, have been a costumer here for many years and will be for many more. The food is always great with the best lamb doner meat in town. Consistently good food and service from the friendly staff.

I'm visiting my sister & this is her local. I'm glad she suggested it as it's by far the most tastiest non chewy lamb shish I've ever had. Lots of bold flavours and big portions. Turkish bread was really lovely and fresh. My 7 year old even tried some and enjoyed. Will definitely order again when back in the area.

Really disappointed tonight as the order was delivered and found to be the incorrect meal, food cold and pitta bread was so hard it was inedible. Whilst on the phone placing my order the person I was talking to was having other conversations in the background so Im not surprised we got the wrong meal. I shall not be rushing back to Dilan which is sad as always rated it very highly. Whats gone wrong ?

Normally would say food was good but very poor tonight, food not what we ordered over the phone. Pitta bread rock hard and Chicken and chips lukewarm.

I use dilan kebab all the time .. now they have gone downhill .. cold food delivered.. poor quality food .. all squashed .. when told them .. all she did was moan .. if u don't have drivers don't take on delivers .. took over hour .. then couldn't eat it .. not execpting cold food.. think time to change food place ..

Ordered online using there own website ..got order numbe @ 6.05pm & was told be 45 mins for my delivery ..after waiting till after 7.40pm phoned up to enquire about my order .was told it had got lost & they were sorry & would do my order ASAP ...8.20Pm my order arrived with a free bottle of drink ..I would suggest you Don't use there own website as it is useless as I found out myself last night . .they will probably say they were busy but if that's the case don't accept the order !!!!

Well what can I say I use to liked this kebab house BUT think they have got far to Big for there boots and forgot about the portion size. I ordered the dilans special and that use to feed me and my wife with plenty of left overs. But there was hardly enough to feed one person. With the dilans special you use to get 2 pitta breads the price has gone up and now you only get one. This might sound like I'm being greedy but when I have a kebab and pay good money for one I would at least hope it would fill us up. Also the quality of the food has gone down. Its a real shame as really liked coming to this one and thought it was the best one in Colchester. Not any more! Last time for my family

Ordered online for delivery, said 45mins, was 1hr 25 mins. Cheesy chips missing and chicken kebab was raw. Young girl on the phone is very rude. Took it back in, no apology, just gave money back for the kebab. Shame as used to be decent, since doing deliveries they can’t even get orders right!!! Absolutely dreadful customer service!!

Honestly, I ordered a kebab from 'German Doner Kebab' last week, paid the extra £2 for a large signature kebab and was unbelievably disappointed, barely warm and next to no meat.... Dilan Kebab were the complete opposite! Amazing meat quality and lots of it. I will order from here again! Delicious 😋

First and last time I would ever eat there, pizza wasn't to my taste fair enough but the customer service was shocking, I very politely asked for a bit of salt on my food which I got the strangest look for but then when I asked for a napkin I heard the other girl say 'does he want a pillow aswell' under her breath, absolutely disgusting behaviour!

Gone down so much!!! Food terrible, customer service even worse!! Had lamb shish... might aswell have asked for animal fat with a marinade... ROSE KEBAB MUCH MUCH BETTER!!!. Bad bad bad!!!!!!!! Called in to order chicken kebab, very quick service and food was very good. Green chilli probably not the best but not too fussed about that. Food was hot and came with a load of salad.

You really need to sort it out. All my food has arrived stone cold. You need to stop giving multiple Orders with the delivery Driver, as that is why the Food is cold. I payed £26 for a cold food. And other takeaway's in colchester do the same. You should not give a load of orders, with one driver. And think it's going to be fresh, for the customer. I don't care if it's saving you money, giving tones of orders with 1 driver. I am a paying customer, and I don't expect my food to be sitting in some Car, for god knows how long, whilst your drivers are delivering other peoples food First. I expect my food to be hot, not cold and dry. And the same goes for other takeaway's here in colchester that deliver cold dry food. It's not on. It's outright disgusting to expect people , to put up with cold food that goes dry because it's sitting around for ages. You all should be sacked.

Went on just eat to order food for delivery, it said no min order.... I placed order which came to £14.90 with delivery, I then received a message to state order had been cancelled. I called them and spoke to a lady who said min order is £15, I asked why I wasn't just told that and I'd order something else to which she couldn't answer. She asked for my number and said manager would call me back to which he never did. There was only 10 pence difference so this is an appalling Service, I will be informing Just Eat too as it stated quite clearly no minimum Order.

3 x large Doner Kebabs , so small, £7 each? Really? Meat was so dry and Pitta bread hard and crispy! Certainly won’t waste our money on that whatever you want to call it. Green chillis were like rubber. Used to be best in town, what’s happened? New owners? 1 out of 5 is generous, Seriously don’t waste your money.
