Diggle’s Café in Lancaster

Soup said on menu it came with a roll. Didn't arrive with one. Told it was extra charge but would bring one for free on this occasion. Toastie said on menu it came with crisps and salad. It didn't and again told it was extra charge. No offer of a free salad and crisps. Food was ok but watch out for things the menu says are included but don't turn up.

Excellent value for money soup and sandwich 2 teas £20. Really tasty food plenty of seating and extra upstairs. Could not fault this at all .

Usually get coffee from here instead of anywhere else as it tastes better but apparently an extra shot of coffee takes large latte from 3.70 to 6.25, won’t be going back may aswell just buy a bag of beans

There was a long wait for service at the counter but staff were friendly. There was plenty of seating space at the back of the cafe. However, the coffee was dire. We ordered two flat whites and got two creamy and tasteless cappuccino coffees. We exited without finishing them and went to Coffee Nero down the same road.

I recently went to diggles cafe the food was horrible but the service given to me by katie was amazing she looked rushed of her feet yet still had a smile and was engaging in conversation with customers which you don’t see these days

The best milkshakes tastes like liquid cake

I imagine it’s good for some stuff. Bought a panini £4.95. Tasted of absolutely nothing most of bread was rock hard. Not much in it. 2 bites and the bin it was.

Ordered bacon and egg bun, egg far too oily and bacon was cold. Got a latte which tasted bitter and not warm enough. On top of that I was forced to sit at a dirty table as there were no clean ones despite a mostly empty cafe. Very disappointed and will not be returning

Unprofessional and rude staff, they had terrible attitudes and didn’t seem to care. Tables dirty and unclear, however throughout my visit a few members of staff were seen outside smoking and on their phones. Staff don’t seem trained in dietary requirements, I asked what was vegetarian and had to explain that i can’t eat meat, however after ordering i saw them use the same tongs they used for meat on the vegetarian products. Because of this cross-contamination, I would be very concerned about ordering from here if i had an allergy.

Came in 2 weeks ago poor girl that served me looked close to tears. Seems like bad working environment no respect between staff. Toilet was gross.

Best milkshakes in town the sandwiches are scrumptious and the jacket potato’s are lovley !!

Staff were cheerful enough. But the milkshakes were awful! So sweet and sugary I couldn't drink it.

Just got a too good to go bag. £4 for a huge scone with jam and cream, turkey wrap with cucumber and lettuce(basic but very filling and nice) , chicken breast baguette with salad, and a steak pie. Definitely will be coming back

Staff fun and friendly foods great

Just wanted to say to the management that you have great staff, but! we won't be coming anymore. We have noticed the glass sizes have shrunk & your prices have rocketed. what was a medium glass of coffee is now classed and charged as a large. Your prices are so absorbant that they are now equilant to the 4* Midland Hotel with views of the lake district. You need to ponder on this.

Had a lovely bacon roll, hubby had egg bacon sausage roll really enjoyed them . Coffee was great . We also had a great slice of carrot 🥕 cake it was so yummy 😋. Really Lovely staff very welcoming. We also took our little dog in which is nice 👍. Definitely recommend this little gem .

Where to start? ...... staff not welcoming, communicative, or friendly, and I'd go as far as saying surly! Not busy, yet took ages to be served. Pannini not heated properly (cold in middle) and still on the edge of being cold after reheating. Coffee awful - badly made, and bitter blend. Tables were dirty, not cleaned for good hour we were there. Toilet dirty too. On leaving, had to avoid piles of dog mess in walkway next to cafe .... which although isn't cafes fault, shd really be cleared... not that difficult to check around cafe and swill with water. Won't return.

Food not bad, only let down by a panini which hadn’t been cooked properly. Other than that the food and drinks were good. Sadly the service was not so good! Admittedly we did arrive at its busiest time, but the staff seemed stressed and moaned constantly. We didn’t even get greeted with a hello and once we’d sat down the only other interaction we had with the staff was being berated for one of our dogs barking (which we tried to keep to a minimum but other dogs being near triggered repeats). Now unless I’m mistaken mind control of dogs is not my strength so there wasn’t a great deal we could do. Perhaps friendlier staff would help?

Can't beat a Diggles takeout hot bun. They've 1 takeout shop and 2 takeout/dine in cafes with a similar range of food & drink.

Popped in to buy a steak and kidney pie and a cooked chicken breast, to takeaway. Pie was good and the chicken was a bit dry. Both came in at just under £6.

Just had a really nice bacon, sausage and egg bun served from the hot food selection. Would definitely recommend.

Going to stop visiting here. It's close by work and used to be lovely. Both food quality and staff customer service has taken a dive in the last 6 months.

Staff were nice but my bacon and egg deli roll had shredded lettuce in it. Should be tried for crimes against humanity.

dirty place, order a cappuccino without chocolate, a flat white and a pasty and they gave me a cappuccino with chocolate a coffee with water and little milk, no cutlery no napkins, no where to get sugar. I do not recommend it.

Located in the heart of the city, in a pedestrianised area. Small cafe/take-away with a few outdoor tables as well as indoor seating. Mainly serving snacks such as Jacket Potatoes, Sandwiches, etc. & beverages. We visited mid afternoon by which time the choices on offer were very limited as they had sold out of the majority of their menu items. Staff friendly, prices moderate, toilet facilities available.

Asked for a Daim milkshake. But lady ended up taking blender round the back with a kit kat? She confirmed it was a daim milkshake which it definitely was not. Why not just tell us you've ran out and to pick something else, rather than lying? Did we look stupid?

We found this place earlier in the year when in Town so made our way there before looking around. Great value for your money. Breakfast Bap & Coffee for silly money. Staff were very good & helpfull.

If you visit this city look for this place, you ask for just a pie, they then ask if you want peas and gravy 😊 we don't have that at home. Try the cheese and potato pasties 🧀🥔 yum

Wonderful hot chocolate and very friendly staff

Some staff really friendly. Food ok.

Bad service → the barista was extremely grumpy, never smilled and mumbled everything). Bad coffee → I like my coffee sugar free and I had to add 3 packs of sugar to be able to drink it. Bad hygiene → Crumbs everywhere, sticky tables, dirt on the floor, etc. The coffee was almost empty, so the employee have no excuse not to clean the place. Regular price → £2.55 for a capuccino, that's the average in Lancaster. Will never go back again. There are so many great other places in the centre where you can drink a decent coffee in a clean environment (Study Room, Vincenzo's, Print Room, Greggs, etc.) so go there instead of Diggle's.

Always good food ,friendly staff .The downstairs of the cafe is a bit cramped and could do with a table being taken out so they can accommodate wheelchairs more easily .

There is plenty of choice on offer here on a regular basis. The staff here are polite and professional. It is certainly well worth a visit.

À small seating area upstairs and down with some outside too. Food was good and quick polite service.
