Recommended by my sister we had a perfect lunch . The service was very friendly& welcoming. Specials board & great menu. So difficult to choose as so many great dishes. We sat outside under the umbrellas as very hot which was perfect & we had a small dog with us. The food was absolutely excellent. The humous so delicious. Oh the mushrooms also very good ! I forgot to take pictures of everything but we finished every plate . Would definitely go back.

Myself, my 2 sisters celebrated our mothers 80 birthday, this being mother’s favourite restaurant, the food & service totally impeccable as always!

Went here for breakfast & I would highly recommend. Delicious food & friendly staff. I have also been here for lunch several times and food is amazing with lots of choice.

So I came a couple of times and I had only drinks outside and that was fine, but I came in today and they told me they don't do drinks they are just restaurant and I was like well you have served me before with only drinks, So I was like okay, I will leave thank you for that and when I was leaving the Lady , which I spoke with she told me all you can come inside and have drinks so now I don't know do you do drinks or you don't do just drinks?

Went here for dinner a few weeks ago and had an amazing array of small dishes. 100% recommend we left happy with full tummies! :D

You can not fault this restaurant. If you love tapas, you won't want to go anywhere else. From the greeting and being seated to the finish coffee or dessert, this place is exceptional. A nicely set out menu with specials on the day. All reasonably priced. Booking is essential. Go, you won't regret it.

Perfect Sunday Lunch (January 2024). I had the roast beef my partner had the Roast Lamb. Beautifully cooked, with front of house doing a Perfect job. Served with drinks in 6min food order taken and served in 15min This warm and cozy restaurant was packed with regulars, always a good sign. My partner, often disappointed with a roast cooked for her, she was full of genuine praise for this restaurant, well done to you all. £63 With 2 rounds of drinks and a delicious apple crumble + custard + ice cream Enjoy your meal We did.

Lovely boutique restaurant serving delightful Spanish Tapas or small plates. Service was excellent. Loved the pulled pork sliders. So tasty! Great experience and excellent value.

Lovely cafe set in Frinton as you come into the town. Nice interior and places to sit out when the sun shines. Had an excellent breakfast. It's worth a visit if in town.

Update: again today they fitted us in. Nothing too much for this team. The beetroot salad was a pleasure to gobble up. Pork roast this time and as wonderful as usual. Thank goodness I left two roast potatoes to make space for the orange polenta cake, only to change my mind and have the crumble instead. Chef, you did well on that crumble! Last review: The tapas was wonderful. Tried them after two Sundays of best roast beef dinners. Beetroot and orange salad blew my tastebuds away. Sardines on toast still has a Sicilian husband swooning. Love love the deep fried pasta bakes with chorizo. Oh and the chicken in lettuce cups was delicious. And the chicken and noodle salad. Such a surprise. We are too much but enjoyed every bite! Thank you!

Great eclectic restaurant out of the common place. With reminders of Mezè style little bites, and the congenial greeting and service you expect from a "family" run business. Definitely different in a good way

Had a Friday evening meal here. I have to say, everything from the service to the food was spot on. Our waitress guided us on dishes and portion sizes. Everything we ordered tasted great. To add to the evening we had live music, which added to the whole experience. Would highly recommend, and will be returning next time we are in the area.

I was looking for a place to eat that my friend had been to before. These people had taken over the place thoroughly enjoyed it my 93 year old friend tasted sweet potato fries for the first time and loved them !!!!

The food was really good a good mixture of tapas and different infusion of food that catered for vegans vegetarians and carnivals, and gluten-free options. Reasonably priced very friendly staff cannot wait for my next visit.

What an absolutely lovely little tapas style restaurant in Frinton on Sea. From the warm welcome as we walked through the door, the helpful front of house lady who described the menu with passion to the superbly cooked tapas style dishes we couldn't fault it and will definitely be back for more at lunchtime and in the evenings. Thank you.

Great food. Lovely staff. Could do with a bit of polishing up indoors. Not dirty just needs a link of paint in places where the chairs have marked the wall.

We were staying near to Frinton and asked about local restaurants from a local shop keeper. They suggested Different. What a GREAT place; it's a tapas bar but with probably the most delicious tapas we've ever eaten. Amazing garlic tiger prawns, potatas bravas, croquettes and meatballs. The flavours were amazing and extraordinary. The wine was excellent too; all very affordable. Great atmosphere and a charming, helpful waitress. Only sorry that we don't love closer so we could be regulars. Would definitely return if in the neighbourhood!

Always have lovely meals here but breakfast is our favourite (especially the French toast)! Lovely in the evenings with the sun setting

The food here is the highlight, but the waitresses are all very friendly and efficient. The outdoor seating is at the front of the building and is in the front garden but the road isn't at all busy and so lunch was quite peaceful and relaxed. It is generally possible to park nearby on the streets. There are a couple of substantial umbrellas if the sun is very hot. The food is served as tapas but the portions are good and 5 dishes made for a filling meal between 2. I think it is excellent value and it's currently our favourite restaurant.

We called in for lunch and did not want too much, so we opted for tapas sharing prawns with samphire and chicken croquettes . Both were very tasty, and together with the bread and aeoli dip, it was enough, though I wished I had the capacity to try more dishes as what I saw on other tables was mouthwatering too. Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Plenty on the menu that we want to try, so we will return. It is not on the main road through Frinton but worth seeking out.

Booked a meal here as my friends first choice was closed. We were so happy because this was unexpectedly fabulous. Attentiveand helpful,but not overbearing staff, great food, happy and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.

The tapas here is delicious! The prawns and croquettes especially. The patatas bravas are just wedges with sauce on which don’t look freshly made. The coffee is machine coffee not filter and it’s not nice. Apart from those two things, it’s cute, has kooky interior, friendly staff and is reasonably priced. Breakfast is also great! It changes from Stan’s to Different at 12pm daily and on Sunday’s they do a roast (but I haven’t tried this)

Not the best of experiences sadly. Came on a windy day and nearly got taken out by a massive umbrella. Glass and broken timber everywhere-no much empathy from staff.

This is a friendly restaurant serving tapas like food with a set menu and daily specials. I tried bao buns with sweet chilli pork excellent. My husband had black sea bream also excellent. We will definitely make this a regular place to eat.

Nice little restaurant with amazing tapas menu ❤️ We love it, although we visiting only when going to sea side, we always had a good time there and we always have our lunch there because the food and cocktails are amazing as is the rest!

This restaurant is excellent. There were tables outside in the sunshine, which is what first attracted us, and the food was wonderful. We tried 6 different tapas dishes and every single one was delicious. The service was friendly and caring too. We will definitely come here again when we are next in Frinton.

Had a one night stay in Fritton and ate here because the menu looked lovely. Sadly the food was lacking flavour and none of the tapas plates had a hint of the Mediterranean. Interestingly we were not asked once if our food was OK / if everything was alright / how was our meal. Maybe it was a stand in chef or maybe they knew it was a poor standard. Mushrooms had no garlic, harrisa chicken was a roast leg of chicken and the potatoes bravas were greasy left over chips with a pink sauce that had no spice. Aubergine was good the croquettes were nice, so overall very disappointed.

Popped in with our 2 dogs on a Sunday afternoon. We were all welcomed and although they were only serving roast dinners the chefs happily accommodated us and made us a mezze plank, which was lovely! A lovely little find and made to feel very welcome, even our 2 little dogs.

Unique dining, quality food and service! Decor could do with a few improvements , like window blinds fitted for the summer months sun when trying to eat..........otherwise very good!

Great little find. ‘Different’ food compared the the local offering. Amazing food. Relaxed friendly service. Tapas from the med and around the world. Changing specials. Booking is recommended. Large portions delicious. Remember to keep space for the awesome desserts. The only issue isn’t that the Patatas Bravas isn’t the tradition version. More wedges with a sauce; they tasted fine.

Me and my mum aint here for the 1st time we Were over the moon with The Meal. I've eaten my fair share of tapas meals in London and this was as good as anything I've had in the past service was really friendly and the chefs really know what they're doing thank you X We had the Malva toffee pudding for dessert I can't recommend it enough I can't recommend it enough.

Had dinner here. First, on the positive side, the staff are polite and nice and the place appeared clean. Downsides, the food was not good. We had the Tapas menu and found the dishes to be nothing like tapas should be, particularly the bravas potatoes with spicy tomato sauce, which looked and tasted like frozen potato wedges with a thickened cream of tomato soup. The rest of what we had wasn’t much better in quality or taste either sadly, although in fairness the pork tenderloin dish was good.

We went for brunch. The staff couldn't have been lovelier. We were a party of 9 and the food came promptly and was delicious. Generous portions, good price, what more could you want? We will definitely be back!

What an excellent choice for lunch on a hot day. The Tapas dishes were as good if not better than any experienced in Spain. Service also good.

We went there for anniversary lunch, it was absolutely amazing food. All cooked freshly to order, it was all very tasty and nicely presented. All the staff were really friendly and accomaditing. We booked and I would highly recommend to do this as it does get busy. So glad we went, as it so nice for us to have somewhere really nice to walk too for lunch, dinner or even just a drink. We booked a table for 4 at the last minute for a pre theatre dinner and really enjoyed our selection of freshly cooked and delicious tapas style dishes. Very friendly staff and a jug of sangria were the finishing touches. We will definitely be returning.

We had a a selection of crusty bread with aioli, chicken and ham croqettas, vegetarian tagine and Cajun sweet potato fries. The garlic aioli was perfect. Everything was piping hot and freshly made. The croqettas were delicious and the Cajun fries were crispy on the outside, soft and sweet on the inside and wonderfully flavoured! The best we’ve ever had! Would highly recommend for service, food (meat and vegetation) and a lovely sunny location. The tagine may also have been vegan.

Had a terrible experience here when I visited with my Family. Didn’t get to try the food so no comments on that front. We were seated outside which was clean. The trouble started when the waitress came over to give us the menu and very rudely asked if we understand what “tapas” is. That was a rather bad skin/colour “profiling” on her part as the same question/ courtesy wasn’t there for the white folks on our next table. We got up and left immediately. Perhaps some sensitivity training will help there.

I was so impressed with the lunch I had here today. Lovely staff who went out of their way to ensure my hungry toddler was given her food quickly. So accommodating and the food was fantastic. 5 stars and I cant wait to come back x

Booked with Mandy for a lunch with my parents and friend. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had a Cromer crab salad which was delicious, my mom and friend had the minute steak and my dad had the ham and chicken croquettes....

Very good experience over all. Small buy cozy restaurant. Could do with some kind of window shades as the setting Sun is blinding. Some of the dishes lacked flavour and quality (eg. paella) however the rest we had were fresh, very tasty and well presented. The service and ambience were second to none, friendly, polite and accommodating, superb! Will return and can completely recommend this unique dining exoerience........well done "Different"!
