Different Taste in Lambeth

Rich, creamy, flavourful, heaped with toppings and very affordable. This is one my 'go-to' dish at Different Taste. I'd dare say that it's one of the best laksa in London. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. Make sure you bring cash along with you!! That's how you know the place is authentic ;)

If you share the view I hold (unless one is out for a special event) then you should like this .The food is good and prepared to order and the prices for what one gets very reasonable.The menu wanders over SE Asia.If you are in the area and just want to eat and move on then go I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I had wanted to try this place for a while. It is a dump with no redeeming decorative features whatsoever and is as basic as it gets. But it's sometimes the tiny little touches which give away clues as to its very hidden qualities. On looking through the windows l noticed jars of proper chilli oil on each table, which immediately peaked my interest. My wife and l decided to give it a try. Inside was freezing and the owners young son was doing his homework while watching his netflix at the same time on the biggest table in the place. .. It was so in need of redecorating that it reminded me of another similar restaurant/cafe not far from here which is in my top 10 eateries in the whole country (Smokey Jerky in New Cross)....Looks can be very deceiving although it does look disgustingly bad. We allowed our initial reluctance to be put to one side and ordered. Hot and sour soup, Singapore noodles, roast duck and barbecued pork on fried rice along with vegetable spring rolls..... It was delicious. we both knew from the very first mouthful that we would consume everything. Comforting is how l'd describe it. I'm guessing they have quite a following of doctors from the hospital who would eat lunch here on a regular basis? £4.80 for a huge plate of lunch has got to be worth it. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.... If the decor was up to scratch then this place would be a gem of Camberwell and would have queues around the corner......Unfortunately it will never get the status because it looks so bad....... Try a lunch there on day.....You'll soon see what l mean
