Di Paolo in South Bucks

As ever, we enjoyed beautiful food, beautifully presented and delightful service. Every dish we had was perfect. We’re so sorry that one of our favourite restaurants anywhere will soon close but we wish Maha & Paolo a long, happy and healthy retirement

My cousin recently visited and recommended this authentic Italian cuisine restaurant so we decided to try it out for our 18th Wedding anniversary celebration. We were not disappointed and so glad we decided to come. From the warm welcome we received from the owners; Paolo and his wife, to the attention of staff, the cozy yet classy ambience and last but not least the tantalising flavours and presentation of our meal choice, we could not fault this place. We had our 2 girls along aged 15 and 11, we are vegetarian and each of us enjoyed every bite! We ordered the asparagi, buffalo cheese salad with roasted potatoes as starters, the arrabiatta, spaghetti pomodro and fettcuinu al funghi for mains. We made sure to try the tirimasu and chocolate fudge brownie! Everything was delicious! So glad we decided to go. The lovely couple are closing their doors on 10.3.23 to be with their family in the states. Highly recommended if you can go!

Really nice service but the food is not authentic Italian. At least not from my experience. And the restaurant has no atmosphere, bright lighting etc. it could be really nice especially since the people working here are lovely.

We have eaten at Di Paulo many times and went last week for my husbands 60th birthday with our family. There were 10 of us and every persons meal was absolutely fantastic. The quality of food is divine, the service was great but importantly, the atmosphere created by the owners is relaxed and super friendly. We couldn't have wished for a better evening, Paulo and his team went above and beyond. I honestly couldn't recommend Di Paulos highly enough.

Visited on a weekday with a friend for dinner. There are plenty of parking spaces in front of the restaurant, which is very convenient. We were greeted at the door by a friendly waiter who showed us our table. The restaurant decor seems outdated, a bit grim. It would be much nicer if they freshen it up. The toilet was clean but needs renovation as well. The menu isn't so big and they also have daily specials. They don't have enough variety of non-alcoholic drinks, so we ordered some water and a alcohol free Perionni. We shared a starter and ordered an antipasti platter, which was nice but covered in olive oil, which was a bit too much for me. The bread was also a bit too hard. I chose mushroom ravioli, which were nice but the sauce was too heavy for my taste. My friend went with schrimp pasta, which she enjoyed. I also ordered tiramisu, which was excellent. Service was nice, but when we wanted to pay, we struggled to get the attention of our waiter. Overall, the whole experience was okay, nothing too special.

Certainly above average food and restaurant. My veal was delicious and well cooked. My fish soup as a starter was very good but could have done with being hotter. Like my food to be piping hot when it arrives at the table. The Tiramisu dessert was a bit of a disappointment. It had been frozen and was still slightly frozen. I’ve had hundreds of Tiramisu’s in my time and this one was certainly not ranked as among the best I’ve had. Prefer a tiramisu to be more moist and slightly gooey in texture, the one in this restaurant was too dry and too much like a cake consistency, also had been frozen. Service was excellent and atmosphere pretty good. Overall not bad, and I’ll merrily return at some point in the not too distant future.

Good Italian. Very friendly staff. Good food. Only slight disappointment was the desert. Ordered the Tiramisu which was still slightly frozen. Tiramisu is my favourite desert and I’ve had literally hundreds over the years but this one was poor. I like my tiramisu served in a tall glass all soft and juicy but the consistency of this one wasn’t to my liking.

Just excellent, perfect service, food and space to relax, enjoy your Friday night, we visited as a family and enjoyed super flavours and service, many thanks, we will be back soon (again)

We booked Di Paolo for my mum and dad's 50th wedding anniversary having been a number of times before and it was fantastic. Great food (my mozarella starter and lamp chop main were superb), attentive service and a relaxed atmosphere around a large dining table with friends and family. Highly recommend.

After waiting a lot for food . The restaurant wasn’t full. My asparagus were swimming in tomato sauce with a soggy pancetta . Nothing like described. Liver for some of my friends with the same soggy pancetta and over done. Disappointed after the reviews I read.

A friend and I have found the most amazing family owned restaurant just off the high street in Gerrards Cross. I ordered the Trofie arrabiata and it’s got to be one of the most delicious plates of pasta I’ve ever had. Slightly different to traditional arrabiatia with a bit of a kick to it but I would definitely recommend. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance in the evening and has a very attentive group of staff working there. A must visit for anyone in the area, already have my next visit booked!

It was our first vist to Di Paolo last night. It definitely won't be our last. The food was amazing, great service and you can tell its family run. The owner chatted to all the diners making us feel welcome and appreciated. This level of service is rare to find these days. The restaurant decor is beautiful, matching the lovely atmosphere. I am already looking forward to our next visit and highly recommend.
