Dhillon's Spire Bar in Coventry

Went here for a beer after work and the whole inside just stunk of sewage to the point I had to sit outside. Nothing like faecal matter with your pint I guess...

You’d expect a craft brewery bar to serve a good range of their own beer wouldn’t you. Well that’s not certainly not the case at the spire bar. The barman explained that they only had their Xmas dark beer available, and not something I would have really chosen myself. I questioned this at the time but they didn’t seem to have a great answer why. The rest of their beers were generic ones that are double the price of pints in spoons. Now I genuinely want to support smaller businesses, but honestly if you can’t get something as simple as that right, and better service if I’m honest, then you don’t deserve the custom. I see why they were so dead on a Saturday night!

Gone right down hill. Beers on tap are flat taste weird. Mixers are the same, told them and they said nothing wrong with it… but they did give me a bottle of mixer instead so it was definitely flat out the tap. Music good but service rubbish. Toilets are awful!! Sad, this used to be a nice little place. Run down, new owners?

We went for brunch here yesterday and had such a great time. Drinks were great, food was lovely & the singer was very entertaining which made the experience even better.

Staff not interested, mess everywhere, only one brewery beer on tap and the fridge broken. Ordered some chips that took an hour to arrive - soggy and cold. Requested a refund and went to another bar.

Amar was a great host and mixologist. Also error made with food order and corrected immediately. Good music as well. Very attentive.

Went to bottomless brunch with some friends and had a fantastic experience. Amar our host and waiter was very friendly and offered great advice on how to get the most out of our hour and a half. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. There is outdoor seating which was ideal because it was a sunny day. Will definitely go again.

If you're looking for a place where you can treat bottomless brunch like it's a competative sport, this is the right place for you. I can't explain to you how drunk we managed to get in 90 minutes. Our server Amar just kept them coming, I had to give my last couple of drinks away because I was so leathered. We're talking 3pm, slurring my words and tripping over my own feet. Food was top notch too.

I had a great time, the staff were particularly amazing, Amar was particularly helpful and accommodating, will definitely be coming back thanks to the great service

It has a great look from outside but inside is very small and it took a long time for us to get a pint an a juice. The drinks are great though.

Surviving tower & spite dates from 1359, part of Grey Friers Church, because Christchurch, which was destroyed in 1941 bombing. Now an atmospheric bar with outside seating.

Staff have really good banter, excellent service, sets us up to have a great atmosphere!

Sophia leads the most excellent and knowledgeable staff, who clearly enjoy what they're doing. They know their classics and when I asked for my favourite, a rather niche one, the server even quoted the book from which it came, without any sort of prompt. I was deeply impressed. I couldn't recommend this place higher.

Sat night and I'm sat here witnessing one of the worst DJ sets going. Would 100% not return based on the music.

A great bar in the heart of Coventry. If you want a local then it makes a great local, if you want a more up market bar then it’s equally at home playing that role and if you want to sit in the sun or under the lights outside then again it’s a lovely spot . A very unusual setting with a great atmosphere, even if only a few people are in during the early part of the evening. A good selection of food and some great flavours. Special mention to the manager, Sofia who makes everyone so welcome and really does understand the art of customer care - a real asset and a credit to Dhillons

I am an non drinker among my friends but I still enjoyed the warm and welcoming atmosphere from Sofia and team. They provide great recommendation on drinks and food, we had to revisit the place the next day due to her persona and happening place. But didn’t get disappointed, had DJ Steve playing his great collection on Friday Night and also an Indian Song on request Jai Ho!!!

I came here with couple of friends for some light food and drinks. A big shoutout to Sofia and her team, they look after you from the moment you walk in until you leave, making sure you have a fantastic time. The atmosphere is fantastic, as are the vibes. Their customer focus and warmth compelled me to return the very following day. Sofia and her crew are fantastic when it comes to recommending the ideal drink for you. They have a nice selection of drinks. DJ Steve was also fantastic. The best experience I've ever had in a bar or pub. I strongly recommend it.

If you're ordering beers here; over their spectacular cocktails, then you're in the wrong place. Genuinely the hospitality here is impeccable, great staff who genuinely care for their craft and customers overall. Had a bad start to the night and suspected it was the end, but this was turned around entirely when we met Sofia - their dedication and commitment to mixology is unbelievable and unbeknownst to many. How I pity those living under rocks in Sofia's presence. Alcohol based cocktails or not, you're doing yourself a disservice by not being right here. You're in safe hands when you come here, and with the future trajectory of the new cocktail menu, I can attest that all patrons at this place will be in even better hands then.

Didnt have any food but the drinks were to die for. Sofia let us try some drinks that are not yet on the menu. When the panna cotta Martini becomes available i highly recomend. It is clear that this is a passion for the staff.

Sophia & Aaron are outstanding bar staff. This bar has amazing music (live on a Saturday) and very bloody good cocktails. Must visit in Coventry

A very cosy, vibrant bar with a beautiful interior and outside seating. The thing that makes this place stand out are the bartenders. Aaron, Kwajo and Jem, the bartenders when I went, were phenomenal - welcoming, attentive and talented with the cocktails. This has quickly become my favourite spot for a drink.

Haven't tried the food but drinks were great! Appleton for the whiskey lovers and Velvet for refreshing tequila based drink!

Hospitality of this place made me feel welcome thank you ro the manager sofie for the atmosphere of the dj I would recommend this place for excellent bar service and music is outstanding that keeps that vibe going thank you for a great night a+st*r for anyone
