Dhansiri in Epsom and Ewell

This is my third visit to this restaurant. Again I wish to complement the staff and chef on a fantastic meal. The chicken dhansak was outstanding! Keep up the good work.

An impromptu meeting meant we joined friends for dinner at Dhansiri. The staff quickly found a bigger table to accommodate the extra diners. Delicious food and an informal atmosphere.

Very happy with our delivery. The food was delicious, I particularly recommend the Mushroom Rice, it's so much better than my usual go-to restaurant. And it has a 5 hygiene rating. Think I've found my new go-to

I visited with 3 friends and enjoyed my food there. However, our visit was on a Monday evening and we were the only customers. But although the atmosphere was a bit flat, this did not affect our enjoyment.

Waited for 3 hrs … phoned twice and was lied to both occasions saying was out for delivery . Didn’t even know where their drivers were !! Then Completed the order !!! Shocking … will be complaining to Uber and reviewing everywhere I can … LIARs … AVOID !!!

Food delivered almost an hour late and cold - have to say I wouldn't recommend!

We are still waiting for food we ordered nearly two hours ago. We have rung twice in the last 45 minutes, both times told food is on its way. Clearly a lie. Will never order from here again and would not recommend anyone else does as they had no interest in customer service. Edit - food arrived as I type - cold and very unappetising looking.

Would not recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Indian food!

Love this restaurant. Consistently superb food, fantastic atmosphere, and great service by delivery as well as dine in. Their biryani's a particular favourite!

I ordered paneer karoi bhuna and chiken tikka masala. There was no salt no spices, there was no masala in chiken tikka it was sweet. Never recommend it to anyone

If I could give no stars I would. Never delivered our takeaway over 2 hours wait and they didn’t care. Dont waste your money.

Please do not order from here. We waited 2 hours for food that never came and then had a very unapologetic man not bothered about our order. We had to drive round to the shop and get a cash refund. Seriously don’t waste your time & money on this place.

We had a lovely gentleman by the name Colin who delivered our food from Dhansiri which was lovely and arrived promptly! We were particularly impressed by Colin's politeness and without sounding lame, he genuinely made our night with his kindness and sense of humour, so much that we called the restaurant to find out his name! Thank you Colin, keep being you!

Cheap and cheerful is the best way to describe this restaurant.The food was NOT of a high quality which was reflected in the price. But it’s nonetheless a popular local restaurant and for a Tuesday night was extremely busy.

Can't go wrong at Dhansiri the best Indian food for miles

Food never arrived, called up to ask about it and they said it will be there soon. Were quick to dismiss me and lied 3 times. very rude over the phone, will never order again, i then called back twice more after waiting about an hour for my food and each time they assured me that it was on its way, the restaurant is a 5 minute drive from where I live, and they did not apologise or offer anything as a gesture of apology at all, truly disgraceful and disappointing

Friendly staff - walked in to order. Waited about 20 mins and food was hot. All very promising. However we ordered the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken and although smothered in a rich and delicious sauce the chicken was DRY and tough. Big chunks of chicken breast that had been cooked far too long. I use thigh if I make it at home and it is always tender. I've had better chicken from a ready meal version. I was so disappointed as this is my local and I had heard rave reviews. We had the lamb biriani too and it was ok - seriously nothing to rave about and not much lamb. We also had a vegetable curry, which was very nice and the naan and poppadoms were good too. I wish I hadn't bothered with the meat dishes as these let our meal down. Unfortunately I won't be returning. A shame

Best curry restaurant ever! Great to eat in or out !

3 of us went on a Monday evening. The food was surprisingly decent! Everything spiced really well and great flavours on both their meat and vegetable dishes.

As a long time customer with this restsurent, I habe always been morw than happy with the food and service. On this occasion I ordered a King Prawn dish snd was very disappointed to only find 4 (yes FOUR!) prawns in my container for which I had been charged £11.95

Just eaten here this evening. Had the Chicken garlic chilli 🌶 wow no exaggeration. Probably the best curry I've had. Unfortunately I don't live in the area or I'd be visiting here more often. A must visit. You won't be disappointed..

Visited here last week with some friends for the first time and we were just blown away with the food and amazing reasonable prices! was very busy so service slipped slightly but still a great time all round! Would highly recommend for a nice chilled night out

Food is very bland with no spice at all and everything tasted the same. Very VERY disappointed. You're better off with a Tesco ready meal. I gave my feedback and was told they have the best reviews in London haha. Will never use this place again. If you like Indian food and not some English version don't go here.

Ordered takeaway ,delivery took almost 2hrs phoned twice and told 10 minutes .Food arrived not hot at all We have used Dhansiri several times and food has been nice .But sorry this time has really let you down .We won't be ordering again in a hurry .

Have had a takeaway from here on many occasions and the food has been pretty good. However when we last ordered from here and had it delivered, our puppy ran out onto the drive and the delivery driver was scared of dogs. He began to swear and shout. I took the dog inside and closed the door behind me apologised and explained that he’s very friendly. He continued to swear at me and even muttered something when I closed the door behind me. I’m not sure if the pandemic plays a part here with higher stress levels, but after the initial fight and my apology, I would have expected him to calm down. Will be looking for a new Indian locally.

We have eaten in here a couple of times as well as had multiple takeaways here the past year during the Covid lockdowns. It has always been a reliable choice and pretty tasty. Sometimes the flavours can be a bit hit and miss, the meat can be a bit fatty, and some of the curries are a bit oily, but on the whole, it's a decent option and it will stay in our repertoire of takeaway options.

Shambolic delivery, waited for more one hour forty. Continually lied about how long it would take. Food was cold when it arrived. Order from raj of Armani.

Four of us went for dinner. We have had deliveries and takeaways several times and always been extremely happy with the food but this was the first time we actually ate in the restaurant and we will not be rushing back. The restaurant was half full and the service was really slow. We had drinks and poppadoms quite quickly but no one came to take our order. Eventually we had to call a waiter over. Our food, as expected, was absolutely lovely so the long delay would not have mattered had that been the only issue. The food was cleared away and, again, no one came to see if we wanted dessert or coffee. We tried to call a waiter over several times and, eventually, got a dessert menu. We chose desserts but were then told that they were not available and that they only had 3 of the desserts on the menu!!!! They didn't even have ice cream. We decided to leave. We arrived at 7.40pm and this was 9.40pm. In 2 hours we had eaten poppadoms and a main course. Had the service been quicker we would have gone elsewhere for dessert but, at 9.40pm, it was too late. A completely ruined evening.

Went last night. Very nice place and atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff and best of all, the food was excellent. Already planning on going again in the next few days!! Best experience of eating in an Indian restaurant I've ever had. Well deserving of their 4+ star rating.

Ordered a curry for the family the other night via Uber Eats. It was meant to take 45 mins and we didn’t receive it until over an hour had passed. To be expected at the moment, it was a Saturday night and lots of restaurants are closed due to the pandemic. The food was delicious and well worth the wait. I had lamb rogan josh which was excellent. Chicken tikka masala, pilau and mushroom rice, naan, aloo gobi all went down well too. Would definitely order again

I know we are in unpresented times however when the restaurant tell you it will be an hour for delivery you expect it to be around that time. What you don't expect is to recieve a call one & half hours later to tell you they have run out of one of your dishes!!! It's now 1hr 40mins and still no Curry!!!

Since restaurants were closed and we've been staying at home during the coronavirus crisis, we've been unable to enjoy meals out. We ordered a home delivery and were very happy with the quality of what we ordered compared to other local takeaways. The spicing of the vegetable curry was excellent and so were the aubergines. if the lamb in the mixed bhuna had been tender I would have given the full five stars, however, most Indian restaurants' lamb is often not, don't know why....so, I recommend the tandoori king prawns and the chicken, and the onion bahjis were delicious too. we will definitely order again from Dhansiri. We have fond memories of the previous charming owner and it's great to see that the food continues to be excellent. Delivery was on time and it was good value for the quality.

Great little restaurant with real value for money fayre. The food has come on leaps & bounds in the last year or so under new management, the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. This is well worth a visit, a gem in the village.

My partner and I visited Dhansari for the 2nd time at beginning of December. As was the case for the first visit, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was first class. We had requested the table in the window and it was available for us. We really enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back soon again.

Have been a regular at Dhansiri for many years. Very disappointed that it has been taken over by new management - the previous owner was charming & always gave that extra special touch & the food was exceptional.Since the new management take over I’ve had 2 take away’s & ate in once.With both take away’s one dish was missing - when I called I was informed I had not ordered the dishes - I clearly knew I had & my partner heard me make the order!When we went for our meal in the restaurant it was nice but did notice at the end of individual clients meals some were offered complimentary liquors whilst others weren’t, surely everyone should get the same service??

My wife & I have been regulars at Dhansiri for some years now & tried it on 3rd June, now under New management. I ordered an Onion Bhajia starter which was tasty & beautifully presented. However my main, a Chicken Shashlik was served & the chicken was really tough, like bullets & seemed infused with a bbq fluid taste - quite unpleasant!When asked by the manager if my meal was ok, I honestly replied that the chicken was very tough & chewy. The size of the chicken pieces were also very much half the size of that, served under the previous management. This, to me suggests a cost saving exercise to the restaurant, that means they don’t directly increase their menu prices, leaving an impression that a change to new management doesn’t mean an increase to costs. I understand this, given how competition bites, but as other comments have stated, Dhansiri has a very tired, dated look & needs to be doing more to attract customers on a repeat visit basis i e. It needs to present really good food, if they cannot afford to refurbish. Having said this, the manger in fairness, did give a ten percent discount, but given my unpleasant experience, this could have been twenty percent at least.I will give them another chance but could be easily swayed to eat at other local restaurants if this practice continues.

Since the new management. It's awful. The food was either very dry or partly burn. They forgot part of the dishes. Missed the salad for the tandoori. And select customers for a complimentary drink. Chef must be a trainee..... The day after I spent on and off the toilet for 2 hours. I am not going to the Dhansari again. Bring back the old owner..... I'm not ending up in hospital

Tasty dishes, I had the chicken mulley. Chicken tilka massala was very tasty and well spiced, although had slightly too much water in the sauce - not as thick as we’d like but could be preference. Overrall excellent service and great food.

This has always been my favourite Indian takeaway, I’ve raved about it for years and told all my friends. The last 3 deliveries we’ve had haven’t been great. Lacking in flavour and quite watery. Such a shame as it’s always been great. Unfortunately after receiving the wrong curry tonight, it has made up our minds to try some where else in the future.

What’s normally one of the best we’ve ever had, this was all together a very disappointing meal, which was very expensive. Such a shame. The Chicken Tikka Masala was so bland it had no taste at all. It seems like some ingredients were missing The lamb in the .biryani was tough, but it’s rice was good. The boiled rice for the tikka masala was hard / rather over cooked. The naan were generally ok, but a tad under cooked and stodgy. The poppadom were rolled very thin, almost see through, making them flimsy and crumbly rather than a satisfying crunch. Perhaps a combination of cost cutting with inferior ingredients, in combination with a new / different and less experienced chef, some adjustments are needed to get back to the former glory.

Restaurant was grubby; we were sent to the back of the restaurant filled with boxes. They double booked our tables and so our kids were asked to finish early and leave. The waiters and staff were rude and incompetent. Will never go there again.
