Dexters at Brown's in Carmarthenshire

A bit of confusion with our booking at the start and our table in the bar was in a busy spot but we cannot fault the service staff and the food. One of the best Sunday lunches we have ever had. We recommend pork bon bons to start and beef for mains

Amazing start to finish!! Starters were good then ordered the sharing steak which was beautifully cooked and presented! Service was outstanding too!! We shall return asap!!

Stayed locally at the Dylan coastal resort. I’ve eaten at many steak houses and this place is proper mint. It reminds me of an unstuffy Hawksmoor. The lighting and the ambiance in the restaurant was great. The red wine list was great. The steaks were amazing. Such good value too. What better way to wash a steak down then with a date cake with sticky toffee sauce. Place is 10/10 give it a try… a triumph 👊👊👊👊

Yet again we had a stunning experience here at dexters@browns, amazing staff, fantastic food, we’d like to thank the the guys from behind the scenes that make it all happen.

We sat in the bar area which was cosy and warm. Our party all ordered steaks which were served hot and well seasoned. Some food was unavailable such as the sharing steaks. The staff were friendly and attentive.

This is a must experience for steak lovers particularly,but all the food that was eaten that evening was quality, quality, quality. Good atmosphere,nice staff, a very enjoyable evening . Yes it's not the cheapest place around to eat,but it's also pretty good value for the food provided and sometimes you just want the next level food/ dining experience. Treat you and your friends to a nice experience after all you can visit a weatherspoons if you really wish another time... Steak heaven awaits you.

Visited on our first night of staying in Laughran. The restaurant was cosy and warm on a stormy night and we soon relaxed. Menu was varied and we all enjoyed our meals. I can highly recommend the beef bourguignon, it was rich and delicious. Our waitress, Erica, was a pleasure to deal with and helped make our evening.

The best aged rib-eye steak I've ever tasted and a perfect combination with the Thorn-Clarke Barossa Shiraz. Will definitely return on our next visit to Wales. Service First Class. A wonderful experience.

So, so, so wanted to be able to write an amazing review - I'd been looking forward to my birthday lunch for quite a while as, after a high cholesterol warning, I rarely eat red meat but this was going to be special - I was at Dexters! We had booked for 2pm - it closes at 3 so some issues may be due to the timing of our meal so here goes... Meat - machine thin sliced (like you get at most pubs). I wasn't expecting it here but I guess this keeps them in the mainstream in terms of price (£17.50). I would happily pay more for hand carved, better beef. Yorkshire - was cool and soggy. Veg - the swede (side) was more butter than swede. Some people might like this but not for us. The cabbage and carrot served on the plate were lovely. The roasties had been hanging around for a while but not too bad. The cauli cheese - lovely but not cheesy. Gravy and horseradish - lovely. I did provide feedback - the waitress looked surprised but clearly wasn't taking it anywhere. Hope to come back and have a better experience as I'm sure this restaurant can do better.

Took my wife for her birthday, best steak we have ever eaten. Staff put a special touch on dessert for her too. Would 100% go again.

I have been lucky enough to have eaten in some of the best restaurants around the world. My ribeye steak at Dexters was outstanding. The whole experience at Browns from an excellent range of courses to reasonably priced wines made it worth the long Drive to see Dylan Thomas’s favourite bar.
