Devine Cakes in Nottingham

We have provided a detailed drawing of the cake for our soon’s birthday and also sent an email in advance with all the information, just in case. Unfortunately, the main colour of the entire cake was changed from blue to green without contacting us and we discovered it only on the day, in which we collected the cake. We were told that it would have gone better with the decorations but this was not what was agreed ahead of the work. This is a major change not just a minor change due to artistic freedom. Also despite the fact that the decorations were very nice, the sponge was below average. We will use other competitors for sure for future events.

Absolutely delicious, fluffy, light and moreish birthday cake. Usually after cake you can feel a little sickly or like you've over indulged, but this cake was simply satisfying and not stodgy or overly sweet. The design on top was peppa pig and it was done really well. My husband bought my 30th birthday cake from here a couple of years ago, and the quality was exactly the same then. I don't know how they make the sponge so light, but I'd like to for sure! I'd definitely recommend 👍🏻🎂😋🧁👍🏻🍰😋

Ordered a 14inch cake for my mum’s birthday. Options to personalise colours and choose different flavours in cake. It was ready for me to pick up on the day and it was really nice and light vanilla sponge - everyone loved it. Would definitely order from again.

Had 2 cakes made for my mum and nan, wasn't too sure on what I wanted and they were more than happy to help me with choosing the perfect designs. The cakes were beautiful and couldn't of asked for anything more. The buttercream was so fresh and the sponge was perfect with the right amount of cream and jam. Thank you Katie for all your advice and my whole family loved it and was a perfect birthday for them.

Wow... wow... wow... Cakes and authentic gem located here. Cakes are amazing quality even down to the simple rice or sponge cake. Friendly and genuine staff with good prices. Birthday cake order was trouble free and stunning quality. Made to order from a vast range of both skill and options. Remarkable finish and taste. I have a sweet tooth but find most sugar icing too much after one slice. Since it was my sons 6 birthday I felt sincerely obliged to assist with 2.5 slices easily devoured of serious chocolate overload. Later that evening polished off another... sweet without the sickly and delicious for both the 6 year old pallet and 42 year old still wishing I could just tuck in like the good old days... I will be back for coffee snacks as a walk in and for every birthday or celebration cake I need. Wow... you won’t be disappointed.

I recently found this little gem, relaxing, young lady behind counter is a breath of fresh air. Come every Wednesday and will continue, thanks again for great service and food x

Great coffee shop. Service was excellent, price was of good value and the cakes were very nice. I have recommended this place to a few of my work colleagues who have also visited and agree with me.

Excellent value for money, baguettes were fresh with freshly made side salad. Tea was only £1.30 for a large mug. The staff were really pleasant and efficient. The cafe itself is a little tired and was crowded as the seating was limited but if you are looking for fresh food, at a great price then would definitely recommend this cafe.

Brought a Groupon voucher to try this cafe on a shopping trip. Lovely staff. Food freshly prepared and hi quality. Cakes so delicicious without being sickly sweet. Nice to find a privately owned cake shop. Seating limited and tables a little close together but that is the same everywhere. Would go here again instead of Patisserie Valerie.

Our first visit , didn't realise it was a cafe .. Had panini, tea, cake ... Pains served with a small side salad , mayo and tortillas .. Very tasty. .. The choice of cakes is amazing . I had the black forest gateau, wasn't too rich , very nice and creamy ... Highly recommend. . Staff were nice and friendly too .. All round lovely afternoon tea

Ate a tuna melt panini using the Groupon deal which was nice & the side salad garnish was fresh. The coffee was large and hot but the quality was average. There wasn't a lot of choice of cakes as we visited at tea time but the cakes we choose were nice. The only cakes that are replenished are the muffins so if you like a particular kind of cake I would advise to visit earlier in the day. The outside of the cafe isn't inviting so I would think that is the reason why people aren't attracted to it, as it looks like a cake shop but not a cafe.

I was recommend to visit here and it was certainly worth it. Lovely food, best panini I've ever had and the cake was really lovely. It's tucked away in Nottingham by the side of Debenhams. First class food, service and good prices. 10/10.

As stated previously, brought our cakes home from this place. Sorry, but should have not bothered. Worst carrot cake I have had, my husband's cake was just as bad. Both tastless. You want to have a great cake, go to Patisserie Valerie, their cakes are perfect.

Was here maybe a year ago... Looking for Sunday brunch...this place opens at 11 on a Sunday... BOGOF on paninis and cakes... All sound with a pleasant environment... Deffo one to return to.

We decided to get the Groupon for a Panini, cake and drink each to break up our long shopping trip on Saturday. We arrived around 1:30pm and the café was very quiet, with only 2 other tables taken. We sat down and had a look through the menu which had plenty of choice for such a small café really. A member of staff then came over and took our order of Panini and drink but we couldn't decide on our cake yet so waited until after our food to order that. I had the roasted vegetable and halloumi Panini with a chocolate milkshake and my partner had the tuna melt Panini with a strawberry milkshake. Our milkshakes arrived first - we knew exactly when they were coming due to the noise of the blenders in such a quiet café! They were so well presented (see pictures), with a cool bendy straw and a strawberry popped on the side of the glass. They were delicious too! The paninis then arrived with a dollop of mayo and a small side salad of lettuce, tomato and cucumber. We both enjoyed our paninis and the addition of the salad to pick at afterwards. I do think, however, that the roasted vegetable and halloumi Panini could do with some herbs or spices adding to give it a little something extra. We finally decided to take a look at the cakes and both opted for a slice of the carrot cake. What can only be described as a slab of cake was brought over for each of us. The cake was absolutely delicious and smothered in frosting, but we both struggled to eat it straight after the Panini and milkshake! If I was to visit here again, I'd probably go for a slightly less filling drink than the milkshake to save room for all that cake! I'd definitely recommend people pay this little café a visit, especially with the Groupon deal as it's such great value for money!

We went on a groupon deal for a panini, drink and cake. The decor wasn't great but we were received with a warm welcome. No restrictions on what you could order and a lovely selection. Even the vanilla syrup in the latte was included. The panini were freshly made to order and drinks were nice. The cakes were superb. Highly recommended for an informal coffee and cake.

I have been to this cafe a few times and ordered cake for my 5 years old son over the last 3 years, the cake has always been delicious exactly like we wanted and adapted to my son "allergies", staff have always been kind and helpful, I also love their chicken wraps ..

Not been to Devine Cafe before. Really enjoyed lunch which consisted of a panini, cake and drink for 2 for £9.50 with voucher. My niece and I enjoyed lunch and said we'd most definitely go there for lunch in future when in town.

Bought a Groupon. ..drinks, sandwich and cake for 2... ace. Friendly owner.... great coffee...The carrot cake icing was amazing. I saw 2 to 3 people order their cakes for weddings/events whilst we ate. An asset to Nottingham centre...

My dad's 60th so I wanted a cake which I knew he would laugh at. So I went in and ordered my cake with what my dad does for a living. Spoke to the lady and I was excited to pick it up the day before my dads birthday night. Got to say when I went in I could of died. It wasn't the cake I wanted or expected! But the gentleman said he was sorry and that a confusion happened and it would be sorted out asap. A lady called Katie sorted this out and did a great job. We have had cakes from here before and always looked and tasted nice. I was very pleased on how it got handled and sorted out very fast and my dad and family loved it. Thank you Katie

sweet little place to pop in for a break in shopping. The panini's are huge with a lovely side salad; good range of fillings. Ours were not very hot though; could have done with a few more minutes grilling.

Ok...so bought a group on deal...and here we are....first impressions....charmingly devine....subtle hints of eastern taste in it's display setting. Katie is so pleasant,.has a lovely smile, not intrusive but so caring and polite. We were served chai latter...panini and cake....all beautifully presented. This is a lovely find. Highly recommend you bypass the ridiculous chains in the square, walk a little and have a much much more devine experience in this exquisite independent. Delightful.

We found this place via a living social deal & have been back several times as we like to support local independent places. The cakes are home made and are always fresh and a few times we have also had their meat dishes which are also really tasty. Good value - they often have deals on. Try them for something sweet and naughty.

They made me a cake for my husbands 50th birthday it looked fabulous and tasted great. I will be back for more when have celebrations which want a cake for highly recommend.

We visited today with a living social deal. It was good value for money and still would have been without the deal. The waitresses are lovely. Small selection of paninis. I recommend the chicken tikka one. Very flavoursome. The meatball one was little bland. Lovely hot chocolate. There was a large selection of cakes. We found it hard to decide which ones to get. The triple chocolate slice didn't have that much flavour but the white chocolate muffin was really nice. Definitely go for a muffin. Worth a visit but nothing amazing.

I thought it was a nice place to stop and have a drink and cake break in town, I used to go with my nan, as lovely as it was I don't think it was particularly unique but recommend it all the same

Really lovely place for a coffee and a bite to eat. The coffee was great, the panini selection was good and they were well made, and the cakes were fabulous! Really recommend this cafe for a cosy lunch.

The cake was abouslety amazing thought it would be a bit heavy but it was so light and creamy it was worth every penny and made a great cake for my mothers birthday. Defiently recommend to everyone it's amazing.

Visited here with my husband using a Groupon voucher. One member of staff was ok, the other one never gave eye contact or smiled at anyone. The wait for drinks & food was far to long. I sat & watched a member of staff pick our side salad up with their fingers! The Panini was average at best, I've had far better! I decided not to go for any of their unnaturally coloured cakes & opted instead for the carrot cake. Again, it was no better than average. All in all it was ok but I wouldn't want to go again.

We have being going there for many months. We try and get nce a week. Coffee excellent, food great and the staff wonderful. Would not go anywhere else for coffee and panini etc.

I visited with my partner with a Groupon voucher. We had a coffee, panini and slice of cake each. We thought the coffee was excellent, much better than other chain cafes. The cake was also delicious and there was such a variety! The paninis were also delicious and I appreciated that they were served with a small salad. I will certainly return for the coffee and cake, both of which were very reasonably priced, even without the voucher. I noted that they also serve kebabs and will be trying these next time.

My friend and I visited Devine Cakes on Market street in Nottingham with a groupon deal. I had been with my husband before when it was near the market place. Food very good value, fresh made panini to order, amazing cakes and a choice of drinks. Served by friendly staff in a cozy cafe. Great for a sit and catch up!

Went here with a friend when staying in Notts for a few days. i hadnt been here before - we had a voucher and wow. The food si amazing even without the voucher the food is reasonably priced. They also make cakes which are Devine! The staff were brilliant. Worth a visit - gets busy but its a good atmosphere.

I've been in this one and the sister shop on Market Street. The Wowcher deal is fab, but it's great even without that for coffee and cake. Staff and service great. Amazing range of cakes.

My husband and I had a voucher for panini, cake and drink and I wasn't too sure what to expect but the panini's were very tasty and the cakes I can promise you, taste as good as they look. I also should mention the staff, they were all so lovely and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely be returning.

I was given a Wowcher voucher for Devine as a gift for my boyfriend and I, where we were both entitled to any drink, panini and cake each. The place itself was lovely and the service we received was really friendly and helpful. Our paninis were served quickly and really nicely presented, and fortunately they tasted as nice as they looked! Our cakes that followed were truly delicious. I had the carrot cake and it was one of the best I've ever had, and I must admit I've had quite a few! I would really recommend Devine as a stop during a day out in the city centre as it is centrally located and a little gem.

We went to the Devine Cake cafe recently on a Wowcher.deal and it certainly has the wow factor! Pity most people were walking past and not enjoying a delicious mug of hot chocolate or one of their cakes. Maybe passers by think it is only a wedding cake shop as they dominate the window display.

Always walked past and seen the display of cakes but had never been in before. Took the opportunity after seeing a groupon voucher to have a panini, coffee and a cake for £4.75 each. The food was absolutely mouth watering and I wanted to savour every bite! Only down side was service was a bit slow but for the quality of the food I can tell you its worth the wait!

My wife and I enjoyed lovely cups of cappuccino before having very tasty panninis followed by delightful cakes from a large selection - really good value. Never realised that this great place was here in the heart of the city. What a pity for them but great luck for us that it was not very busy on a Saturday afternoon. We will be back!

Bought a discount voucher for a panini, cake and coffee so it was very good value, but we would visit again and pay full price it was so good. Good size portions, both food and coffee, but especially the slice of " gateau" which probably had too many calories to ask! Delicious and well worth a visit!
