Very cute, good wifi, nice staff, tasty coffee and food; I came here every day while visiting the area!

Lovely little coffee shop. Friendly staff. Only popped in for a quick coffee but ended up eating there too. The panini’s were banging. Good selections of cakes available too. Can accommodate for coeliacs.

I decided to pop in with some friends for a coffee. We sat on the bench outside for a moment to finish outside food instead of taking it in. An employee/ manager (?) came out and was extremely rude. It’s just not an acceptable way to speak to anyone, let alone a customer who’s only trying to respect the establishment by not bringing food in. Having this attitude with customers is utterly off putting. I will not be coming back.

We were only in the neighbourhood for one day but came here for a coffee and cookie and both were AMAZING with lovely service. Highly recommend. Thank you!

An espresso, quesadilla, and Murakami books in a cycling atmosphere with my wee dug. A dream. My only problem was that I later realised there was a New York Bagel and I wasn’t hungry enough for two brunches :)

This place is definitely for the coffee enthusiasts! They execute and serve the Machina coffee beans really well - the various times we came for white based espresso were all excellent. The cafe is located in the Marchmont area of Edinburgh and has a relaxed chill vibe to it. Parking is also easier as compared to other cafes.

Best Coffee within earshot of the Meadows. Highly recommend! The staff and owner are lovely.

To be fair to these guys, their soup is absolutely banging - by far the best I’ve had. Of course the coffee is very good too.

Very good coffee in a cozy cafe. My oat latte was stronger than expected though; it tasted more like a flat white. I like my coffee strong so it was fine anyway☕ Will be back :)

Great flavoursome coffee with a few pastry and sweet options. Tons of seating, internet/WiFi available so can use your laptop on most tables. Very friendly staff and stylish indoor decor with lots of light. Would go for another coffee soon!

They have a great latte - not too acid as I would prefer to. Since we came late for the store closing, will definitely back to try their pastry. Ambience was also comfy for chit chat and study (P.S. they have a caution to not use laptop on some tables). Overall great experience!

Only went for a quick coffee on a wee wander. Some of the best coffee I’ve had in years. Absolutely amazing and the chap serving was lovely to speak to as well.

It’s okay here but nothing special. Coffee is expensive and small cup, also quite a bitter toward burnt brew. Menu is small, and very small selection of pastries which sit on plates on the counter. This is more of a coffee place and not so much a food place. The bagel was okay but definitely something quite homemade out of supermarket stuff quality. Croissant was nice but not traditional flakey French croissant. Atmosphere is slightly plain and lacking somehow, or maybe it was just the type of people in there. It is only a small shop I suppose. The service was okay, lady was friendly but my friends found the male barista to be quite odd and stand off ish with them. I probably wouldn’t go back, but if it looks like your thing go as there was nothing majorly wrong with it.

I only tried their pastry but it was bomb. I bought it near their closing time but it was still buttery and tasty.. simply amazing. The lady staff was lovely and helpful! They have wide choices of interesting beverages which I’ll definitely try on my next visit

Pretty generic coffee place, decor is ok and the atmosphere is definitely lacking. The coffees are very small and not great tasting. The staff were unremarkable and not overly friendly.

Lovely light and bright cafe at Morningside Station. At last a really good coffee stop on a street that has loads of cafes. Friendly staff. Well spaced seating. Small but tasty selection of treats. Good coffee. What's not to like

Walked past and stopped in for coffee, hot chocolate and pastries. Toasted banana bread was amazing and coffee was some of the best we had ever tasted. Staff were friendly. Well worth a visit and will stop by again soon.

We had a long black and a flat white, and both were in the top range, though not the top, of what you can find in Edinburgh (a city where coffee standards are high, so no mean achievement). Service was quite quick, though it has to be considered that the place was not busy at the time. Offers some interesting sweet bites too.

Good quality coffee (beans and execution) at reasonable prices, nice little room and two benches outside, if you can get them, with a very nice sunny exposition.

Had hot chocolate doesn't have anything extra such as as in marshmallow, just hot chocolate it was £2.50. Nice cafe and liked the white hanging bike.

Great coffee but 8 minutes to prepare. Light white room, good atmosphere, well meaning guys, hope they survive.

Quiet when I went one sunny morning before 10am. Girl serving was friendly and made an excellent flat white, and trust me I know, having tried almost all the good coffee in Edinburgh! Also had a nice freshly-made croissant and really liked that they support cycling and embrace the Tour de France! Will definitely be back.

Coffee is definitely one of the best in this area. The beans and equipments that they use here are really good ones. Definitely recommend getting a cuppa here.

Parked outside this cafe in a side street and needed food quickly. Really lovely veggie soup and sandwich combo here. Indonesian tomato, chickpea and coconut soup was thick, flavoursome and nice texture. Cheese and chutney sandwich on sourdough equally good. Great spot for simple, hearty lunch.

I was wanting to kill some time and noticed there was a new coffee house here. Very good. It's a very light and spacious cafe that was fairly inviting. Good coffee and cakes were on offer, one that im not sure id be back as this is not really my are but on that id recommend to anyone who whats to know where to for a decent coffee in friendly surroundings.

Don't go on a Sunday, coffees finished and had to ask when getting toasties arriving!! No apology when they were brought to table. Will not be back. Editted after owner replied The employee is not telling the truth, there was only one other person in cafe who had been served, people who came in after us were served their food before us. We were not given an apology even after asking why food was late, it hadn't even been started!!! My son's girlfriend is Spanish but spoke in English when she complained and we all spoke English at the table. Your employee was more interested in what he was looking at on his tablet than the customers!!!

The whiff of staid middle class ethics ,are too pungent to be masked by an artificial facade of urban cool . Well over priced for basic stuff like coffee and soup and the coffee and soup options are the generic norm of what every other hipster cafe is serving up in the city. The quality of the coffee is variable good to dire the prices of course not so. Basically you’ll get much better coffee in any Spanish ale house for a fraction of the price on a daily basis , trust a certain strand of British society to elavate a daily basic to a high charging pretense. Apart from one lady the staff and service are not that friendly or helpful either unless they think your loaded. The ambiance and dynamics are like something out of a script by Gervais and Merchant.

Came in with the kids on a chilly Christmas Eve. They loved the Hot Chocolates, we had some of the best coffees we've ever had. Oh and the cakes! The Frangipane and Golden Brownie were to die for. Definitely going to be back!

On a chilly Christmas Eve, a family's worth of hot chocolates went down a treat! "The best hot chocolate I've had in years!" said our 10yo - and he's a connoisseur.

In the premises formally known as the Meadowlark Cafe and with a new owner. Does good coffee, cakes and light lunches. The home made banana bread is to die for especially when toasted. The soup is also excellent and comes with a nice sourdough bread.The best cafe in this location so far and there have been a lot. Does cheaper takeaway coffees early in the morning. Good to drink if you are walking through The Meadows on your way to work. Well behaved dogs are welcomed.

Most importantly - very good coffee. Extended coffee menu inc cortado, pour-over and batch brew (very tasty, plus cheap refills!). Nice space, friendly, good tunes and tasty food at reasonable prices. Free wifi & power sockets too if required. A very welcome Marchmont addition!
