Wonderful pub, great food and superb service. We had a great night here!

A true original 😃 Super friendly staff, I felt very comfortable. The bartender always has a good saying. The beer is cold and tasty 😋

Nice pub on Shandwick Place, so great for a pint before getting on the bus or tram. Good grub. No cask ales which I noticed, but the draught beer is of good quality and from good breweries.

Called late afternoon and booked a table for 7:45. Glad we did as pub was pretty busy. Friendly atmosphere with table service. Pub food well done with truly excellent not overbreaded fish and chips. Vibe warm and welcoming, atmosphere casual but not loud. Canine customers a welcome presence.

Was in town from Boston on a business and tourist trip. I wanted a night out from the hotel so I wandered into this pub and had the BEST...NIGHT...EVAH!!!! The place was nicely full but not packed with all ages, from neighborhood types to young revelers. The haggis appetizer was yummy and the fish and chips were delightfully crisp. But what made this place was the staff there. My waitress struck up a friendly conversation and before long I was being introduced around the bar to all the locals and staff (those working and not working). I met a man from Osaka, Japan, and a young man named Fergus. Never even got the name of the off-duty bartender who put his arm around me and made me feel so welcome. The owners were the most lovely people. A few rounds later I was very loathe to call it a night. It was my last night in town, else I would have been back. The hugs, kisses on the cheek, and handshakes left quite the impression. Rest assured that when I return to Edinburgh, The Fox & Fawn will be a destination not just once, but many times during my trip. Best of luck to the crew there. You have created a special place where I felt like, by the time I left, everyone knew my name.

Very nice pub, with live music and excellent service. Every time I visit Edinburgh, I return to this place because it is so comfortable. Nachos are a good option to accompany with a good pint and good company.

Excelente servicio. Tomé la soecia de puerro y croquetas de patata. Muy bonito. La carne en el pastel de lam no era la mejor. Buena cerveza y un ambiente agradable para el almuerzo.

The portion of the wings surprised us. It was delicious and crispy. I would highly recommend this place for food.

Very nice place with incredibly good fish 'n ships. Good selection of beer and whiskey. We ourselves tried Ossian and Innis & Gunn lager.

I dint eat , was here for a open mic 🎤 night, with my special guy gustavo and his girl Julie- he sang a few songs , good laugh .

Great place to have dinner and/or drinks! Staff is so nice and fun. They have quizzes and open mic nights. Awesome interior/ambiance. I had the fish and chips and it was amazing.

Great little Edinburgh pub free from the chains and the usual gentrified guff. Lovely staff, great food, decent beer selection and quality live music every Thursday - Saturday, 9pm to midnight. Enjoy!

Nuestra experiencia fue excelente. Como era justo antes de Navidad reservamos una mesa para la comida y me alegro de haberlo hecho ya que estaba muy ocupado. A pesar de que el bar estaba muy ocupado el servicio era fantástico en todo el personal era muy amable y servicial. La comida era de excelente calidad y grandes porciones, no puedo recomendar lo suficiente y sin duda volveremos!

Food was amazing one of the best burgers I’ve had and triple cooked chips were to die for would definitely come back when traveling to Edinburgh and would highly recommend. All staff were lovely and attentive aswell which was a bonus

I enjoyed a wonderful evening here with 50 others from a meetup group. It is a great pub with a great vibe and a great selection of beers and spirits... and last but not least great staff.

Decent enough city centre pub. Plenty of tables. Food ok,not high end but ok for a pub.

We had the best birthday celebration here a few days ago. From the organization and preordering, through the amazing food and drinks. Unfortunately we were with a child and could not stay all night long :) The staff created memories, which will last a lifetime for us and we definitely recommend it 100%, as 5 stars is simply not enough!

Very nice pub at the end of Shandwick Street at Atholl Crescent. Good pub atmosphere with friendly staff. Just stopped for a drink but have eaten here in the past. Food is good and prices reasonable. Give it a try.

Booked this a week before arriving in Edinburgh for a 7.15 table, I mentioned the rugby was on but was told it would have finished before we arrived so the pub would not be so busy. Well the walked down the street towards the pub and there were a few thousand people walking towards us from rugby and the pub was heaving with Scottish and South African supporters, the guy behind the bar apologised but we said it`s fine as we like sport and a bit of banter, our table was waiting and we sat with supporters and had a great night, could not have been better. We both had steak pie and roast pots with veg which was lovely, washed down with a few good beers. This is a "proper" pub for a good night out.

I recently visited this pub when visiting the City. The pub was quite busy, has a large TV and staff were very friendly. I only had drinks so can't comment on food or bar snacks. I recommend visiting if your in the area.

Op Halloweenavond wilden we ons onderdompelen in feestgedruis. We hebben heerlijk gegeten, maar toen om 2100 uur de live muziek zou beginnen, bleek dat ze een matige deejay hadden ingehuurd. Helaas tot die tijd was de muziek erg leuk: jaren tachtig en uiteraard een aantal enge liedjes.

Fox and Faun had great vibes and great food! Fish and Chips were some of the best we had.

We walked into the Fox and Faun on a whim on our first night in Edinburgh and are so glad we did. They had live music playing and super nice people. We had a blast and came back every night we were in the city. Dan was so great and always made sure we had a table. We loved it and next time we are in Edinburgh we will be back. ❤️ Sticky toffee pudding is amazing.

Entramos en el Zorro y Fauno por capricho en nuestra primera noche en Edimburgo y estamos muy contentos de que lo hicimos. Tenían música en vivo tocando y gente súper agradable. Nos lo pasamos genial y volvíamos cada noche que estábamos en la ciudad. Dan era tan grande y siempre se aseguró de que teníamos una mesa. Nos encantó y la próxima vez que estemos en Edimburgo estaremos de vuelta. ❤️ Pudín de toffee pegajoso es increíble.

I booked a table for Thursday for 7of us,we got great service at bar we ordered a few sharing platters staff were attentive food was delicious. It’s a very relaxing bar and it’s great to see their dogs at bar very friendly would recommend to everyone

Lots of atmosphere on a Friday night, very nice waiters and live music. It took them a little while to serve us but it is understandable because it was very full. I recommend booking if you want to get a table.

Very cozy pub with good food, huge portions and nice staff. There are also pool evenings, live music and you quickly get to know new people. Gladly again!

The haggis bon bons were terrific, chicken wings falling off the bone, shepherd pie was excellent, and the chicken skewers with potato wedges were to die for! We almost walked by, we actually did the first night because of my friend, but he's loving it tonight!

My wife and friend and I had great fun at this lovely neighborhood pub in Edinburgh! We went there 3 nights in a row out of our 4 in the city. (We were there later in the evening for drinks.) The patron and staff were both very friendly. The musical entertainment was very enjoyable....different each night. We met one of the owners (Daniel)....he was QUITE engaging and fun; and was very hospitable to us. Really enjoyed each evening there.

Had the most amazing nachos here served by the most lovely new staff member, i think his name was Callum. I’ll definitely be back despite the absolute Karen on the next table being a nightmare customer and taking all her pent up aggression out on the lovely staff, still, it wouldn’t put me off returning if they put a muzzle on it :)

Really gone downhill. Went in today andy nachos were just a clump of vileness and the bar man was worse then useless. Such a shame as it used to be good. But clearly just being lazy and relying on the backpacker trade that were the main customers now.

Good fun, great to relax in, we were in a group of eight and we made it our local whilst there. Try their Sunday roasts, yummy!

Can not review the food, as we ended up leaving, without eating there. We entered, asked to be seated, got menus and waited. After 20 minutes, when only one waitress was working, and totally ignored us, while serving others, we have decided to leave :(

We arrived by chance on the way to the hotel. They treated us very well. We only ordered beer and hummus because we weren't hungry, but it was very good (you could tell it was homemade) and the beer was cold and well drafted :) Super friendly waiters and local atmosphere with live music.

Incredible pub!!!! By chance we saw it and without really knowing where we were going, we entered. Upon entering, the music, for a 54-year-old Amatxu, was brutal! They treated us wonderfully, very politely (as is usual in Scotland) and as it was our last day there, we ordered fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce and a hot grilled camembert with red fruit sauce. Awesome! The batter, made with beer, crunchy, tasty and truly "homemade". The extraordinary sauces, both tartar, red fruit and haddock, the best we tried in our 10 days stay in Scotland. Really recommended! The best place to eat in Edinburgh, without a doubt!

Fabulous food and the nicest bartender! Fun atmosphere for a casual dinner and cocktails with friends. The macaroni and cheese with bacon was delicious!

Good food here had been a few times ,this time shocked to have the kids £5.50 meal served in a coffee cup ☕

If you are looking to drink a pint of Guinness you'll be ok. If however you fancy a cocktail, a G/T, or anything fancier, make sure you spend your money elsewhere! Horrible, watered down drinks that are "interestingly" priced

A lovely pub! First enjoyed a rowdy evening with a fabulous lamb and rosemary pie - easily the best meal I had in Edinburgh. Had a such a good experience that I came back for Sunday lunch. Sat out in the rare Scottish sunshine in the back patio area and made friends with the local dogs - as welcoming and lovely as the local patrons. Had the scrumptious tempura prawns, and braved the haggis bon bons - surprisingly tasty! All in all, my favorite pub in the city. Definitely a must-visit for great food and excellent hospitality in a charming pub-style setting!

Love the local friendly vibe in this pub. We were staying nearby and popped in on our last night in Edinburgh. Full of life, friendly hosts and delicious food. The fish and chips were just the thing - super fresh fish with excellent fat chips and mushy peas that I’m now a convert for. The Mac and cheese good too. It was quiz night and we came last but this place is a winner! Wish we had a Fox and Faun in our home town…

We met a friend at the bar who recommended the fish and chips… let me tell you, first of all the portions were MASSIVE and very well cooked. We ordered the haggis bon bons, which were good, the pretzel, which was ok, the chicken wings, which were really good and we each had a fish and chips. We could have easily shared the fish and chips. As strange as it may sound, and as good as the fish and chips and tartar sauce were, the peas were f-ing AMAZING. So, so very delicious. Watched a game and drank some Tennets. Great patrons and servers too. Clean restrooms also.
