Desi Sweets in Sandwell

This place has made my life a living hell, the second time i went i ordered pizza and their oven broke which is understandable but today i went and i order 2 pizzas and they said they were busy bc it is Diwali and I understand that but then she said we can make it for 2 o'clock and i said ok , i sent my daughters to go get it They got there and they told my daughters to wait until 3 they went to the park to waste time but when they went back they had the ordasty to say that when they told me on the phone that the pizzas will be done at 2 I didn’t say anything but i definitely remember saying ok. (Plus when my daughters went to go get the pizza there was no one there they didn’t look busy nor sound busy and the staffs attitude was disgusting)

Ordered samosas and springs rolls from here a few times for parties. Staff are friendly and the food is delicious.

spring rolls were burnt, pakora only onion and potato, disgusting samosa yeah you cutting back on ingredients then ONLY charge for what you giving absolutely shameful and disgusting burnt spring rolls and samosas from night before i came in about 11.30 ish saturday 21 sept the worst ive ever had no way ill come back cut ingredients then cut price too or close your shop no one will put up with your disgusting food for sure greedy people never go there again these people are greedy very greedy i paid £29 10 spring rolls 10 samosa with shite in them spring rolls had more potato than the samosa disgusting

DIRTY food DIRTY service I WENT THERE THE LADY WAS SO RUDE AND IGNORED ME TWICE WHEN I ASKED FOR PRICE AND THEN SPOKE RUDELY AGAIN

The quality of sweets is bad. I bought gajar barfi but it was smelling and wasn't appropriate to eat. Not recommended

Somasas to die for! Been my place to go for last 30 years. You also have to try barfi!

We have been coming here for years as it is one of the oldest and original Indian Sweet shops in Smethwick. The somosas and spring rolls are great as is the chutney (dip). The Mithai (Indian Sweets) are delicious and there is lots of variety. The parking can be a nightmare but the food is worth it.

Samosas are rubbish very cardboardy the spring rolls are ok though but even they are carboardy too. The mithai tastes like plastic. I wish them well but considering they are one of the oldest indian samosa/ sweet shops their quality of food is pants. They need to upgrade their recipes. Especially the dreaded samosas.

Food quality is good love the milkcake staff is really friendly specially the young girl ( Kamal) fabulous and fast service

I would leave 0 reviews if i could. I went in and ordered 2 burgers, they made me wait a whole hour and then came out with one burger saying they only have one and just apologized. Instead of telling me while i first went in they made me wait so long just to tell me they dont have my order available anyway, complete piss take

Very poor service today. No-one responded in the shop for about 5 minutes with no-one answering until I had to literally shout.. Ordered 8 paranthas and it took them 1 hour when they said it will take 20 minutes. On top of that I advised clearly that don’t heat pakodas, they were giving me hot ones, so had to ask again. Worst is they have increased price and now don't even given any pickle or yogurt so expect you to eat them dry or pay more...especially when it tasted bland with very low salt. Even the amount of stuffing in paranthas gone down comparatively..complete rip off..Will never visit the shop again...

Been coming here for years and the place has severely gone down hill. They don’t seem to understand what customer service is despite having taken my custom for years. I ordered 10 samosas and 10 spring rolls and the lady only gave me 1 dip! I said I come here a lot for the same order and for that many I usually get given 3 or 4 dips by another woman. All she said was well that’s her if you want more I’ll have to charge you 25p! 10 samosas and 10 spring rolls and wanted me to pay if I wanted more than 1 dip which is absolutely ludicrous. No consistency whatsoever and no set rules on how many dips you get per quantity of items just depends who’s on the desk. The lady in front of me asked for £2 worth of pakoras, when it came to paying the worker didn’t state the total so the lady paid via contactless but was told had to pay a fee for using card under a certain amount. She paid but then said you’ve only given me and charged me for £1 worth when I asked for £2 worth. The worker said well if you want another £1 worth you’ll have to pay the card fee again despite it being the workers error. Will be using a different location in the future.

Ordered 120 bisan boxes for my function end of November and it was soooo delicious & fresh, had numerous people phone me after to ask where I had bought the bisan from.

I went their to buy samosa and paneer spring rolls in bulk though I did try one each and just loved it. Highly recommended for these two items, I will try other things when I will visit next.

I always go there with my friends for Alo Parathas and they are the best in town.

I think this place can be hit and miss which is a shame as they will lose regular ordering customers. The first time I visited I ordered about 15 roti. I was impressed with both customer service and the roti. I would have given it 5 stars because I ordered it at 7.45 and they were closing at 8pm. They made no fuss and made the perfect roti. The second time I ordered at 7pm expecting the same nice roti. Instead the roti was burnt. It’s like they could not be asked to have made roti and I decided to never order again which is a shame as I would have happily ordered roti every week, if it was guaranteed to be made properly every time. This therefore is a hit and miss place and nobody wants to have that with their food especially if you are hungry and paying money.

We picked up Samosa , Spring Rolls and Indian sweets today. Firstly , the service was poor. The staff behind the counter were rude. The food was poor. It was cold when I especially asked for freshly cooked food. If I could , I would score this place ‘ nil points ‘. I think they were offended by my English wife. I hated the smirks on their faces.

Lovely staff, fresh food, u would want to try the bread pokora very nice. Dips are on point. Parking can be an issue.

Bad service and racist I'm a Muslim with head scarf. Whent in was my turn lady ignored me start serving people behind me. I ask for aloo paratha. In a loud voice she said we are busy its gona take time were a lady in front of me ordered 12 paratha. I only whant 2 for my kids who were hungry at that time.very poor .

something not right about this place.. older mature lady, possibly owner, very rude.. and impatient.. don't give receipts.. don't take card?.. i wonder why? cash only.. instructed to go get cash.. .. arrogant .. don't seam to understand what customer service is!

No manners. Lady had an issue as soon as myself(white lady) walked in with my Sikh husband. Lady threw sauce in bag and leaked asked for another bag... would of thought I'd asked her for free food. They need to work on there multi cultural customer skills. Would avoid.

A month ago I happened to visit Birmingham. Bought some sweets, Golgappa and the Golgappa' Pani. Best spiced Golgappa Pani. I would definitely go and get more , whenever I visit Birmingham again.

I tried no. Of namkeen & sweets from this shop its not gud. In bread pakora salt nd potato stuffing too much. In sweets sugar is overloaded.

I regularly order takeaways from Desi sweet Centre. The food is always so tasty and hot. The owner Mr Kohli also gives us complimentarymost of times. I always recommend This eatery to everyone in the area and around.

Indian sweets are nice but quite pricey...

Good service. Some prices a bit high

I am using desi sweets for years always best food but now few months all food quality changed not like before. Paneer pakora to dry. channa, burfi and jalebi taste changed. I did tried once to ask them and told about it but lady on counter said no we always make fresh. Very nice staff.

Worse than supermarket prepacked.waste tiime and money.Today I brought sweets for lohri celebration its taste has totally changed.I want to speak with owner right now if anybody knows his or her number

Quite possibly the worst Samosa and Onion Bhajis I've ever tasted. Worse than supermarket pre packed. Spend the extra few pence and go to Punjabi Sweet and Curry House a couple of doors down.

Lovely little place run by some Indian ladies who are good at their work. Had a lovely Indian Massala Tea the other day, didn't have any other food so can't comment on it.

Would not recommend at all Was being spoken down at, saw me with my husband who is white man . Absolutely nice with two other white man who bought the samosa and paid- very courteous with them . As soon as I (Indian women ) went into the shop with my white husband tone just changed speaking down I tried to put my order in but I was told I can't as I have not tried to ring them , I told them I have been trying to ring you for last half an hour and phone line was engaged-complete denial . When I proved them wrong (rang there shop number in front of them and it still come up busy) still very abrubt in the tone Meanwhile she kept on scanning my husband from top to bottom DISGUSTED 🤢 Good food but will never go back for my own well-being

I'm pretty sure the only reason I get invited to parties is because I take samosas from Desi Sweet Centre with me. The best samosas I've had, by a good margin, and great value too.

Food was delicious. The pakora was made fresh, perfect and authentic. The spring rolls were nourishing the samosa was nice but the aloo needs to be boiled prior to placing in the pastry
