food was good service was a little slow. interior was a bit old needs updating. I will go back. but probably order take out.

My friend and I enjoyed a nice lunch here. We shared an order of the chili momos, and I had the thukpa noodle soup. The chili momos were flavorful and rich, and that sauce covering them is fantastic. The thukpa I had was vegetarian, but the flavor really grew on me. It was heartier than I expected, but was very warming too. It worked great for the cold weather. My friend’s goat thali looked great, and the portions were generous. This is a restaurant that deserves more traffic I think, and it’s well worth a try.

My absolute FAVORITE!!! The fried rice & garlic naan are the best I’ve ever had and the dishes are so well made, spices are perfect. The staff are so kind. What a gem. I’m so grateful I found this place a couple years ago and I don’t order Indian from anywhere else.

Every time I come here I'm blown away by the dish. Quickly became my favorite restaurant in GR and I love the service. The food is incredible and I love the different choices they have and they provide great recommendations.

Tried their steam momo and Veg Samosha. It's not only the food, but even Prabin's behavior is very friendly. Anyone visiting GR can give them a try. You will not be disappointed

We noticed this after our trip next door to Horrocks. This was some of the best Indian we’ve had in years! We got the tiki masala and butter chicken. Highly recommend.

Excellent family-run establishment with proper Indian cuisine. My sister and I came in for an early dinner on a Friday and were given attentive and genial service (thank you for the special accommodation you made for our friend!). The chole bhature we got as an appetizer was great - the bhature itself was the best I've ever had, while the chole was good (if mild - don't be afraid to ask them to spice it up!). Our main courses - lamb rogan josh and lamb korma - were standouts; the rogan josh in particular actually made us a bit emotional, as it reminded us of family cooking from years and years ago. Tender lamb, rich and flavorful gravy, no puddles of grease...well done. The accompanying naan was spot-on, the portions themselves were generous (with very reasonable prices!), the rice was plentiful...and to top it all off, we were given complementary chai that the kitchen made to offset the chill of the colder weather. We will be back; thank you for a memorable meal. My new favorite Indian place in town, hands down.

It is dark and depressing inside. Only one light on and completely silent, no background music or anything so had to listen to the talking in the kitchen. The service was slow and unfriendly. The lady who took our order didn't even know what was on her own menu. Ugly artwork on the walls. Food was mediocre. Won't be back

Paneer Makhani and Navratan Korma sour and frozen vegetables used. No cashews or raisins. Pakoras were wonderful as well as the mint and Tamarind Chutney Customer service was not great either. I would recommend going elsewhere

Really quick take out service. The Food was tasty and hot! We got Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala, and garlic naan. One entree with the naan was plenty for a couple of leftover lunches!

We tried this place for the first time today, and the food was incredible! Hands down the BEST butter chicken I’ve ever had. Highly recommend! This is now my new favorite Indian restaurant. The restaurant was clean, the staff was very friendly, and you get big portion sizes for a good price. We will definitely be back!

Came here with my fiance for dinner after Craig's Cruisers. The service was a bit confusing, our waiter was nice but he just randomly gave of a bottle of Coke. Ok 😂 But hey, we'll take it! I really like the spices that are on the menu, it's cute! I got the lamb saag. That was good! That spinach-y green sauce compliments that lamb well, and it's a generous amount of food for a reasonable price. My fiancé's chicken dish was delicious too 👍🏻 You can't typically go wrong with Indian food, and that was definitely true here. We all enjoyed our entrees.

We go here a lot for the Mithi chicken and garlic naan. They are very good about how much spice you want in your food. The garlic naan is so soft and flavorful. We've had Other dishes and they were very good also. The people are very friendly and the inside is beautifully decorated. Try them out!! You won't be sorry.

Delicious, yummy, flavorful food!! They had so many options, but yet nicely organized. I definitely recommend dining in as the service and fresh food combination is like none other! We will definitely be back and would recommend to everybody.

Many vegetarian options. Prices are reasonable since you get allot when you order. Of course garlic naan is delicious. Tried it with Shahi Paneer. Yum. Loved the vegetable Pakoda . It was great with wonderful people that work there. We will be back.

Best Indian food I've had since childhood, this place has my heart

This food can be described in three words: Crispy, Bold, and Beautiful. I had the Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan for dinner with Vegetable Samosas as an appetizer. The rice was not sticky and seemed to float, it was so airy. My Butter Chicken had a hint of pumpkin flavor, but it was totally imagined, because it was not an ingredient; interesting though. I chose spice level 5 and it was enjoyable.

Its been a long time I had momos and really looking around to find a jol momo(Nepali Momos) and came across this one. Desi spice chilli chicken, has that smoky flavor and wet, which exactly matched how I wanted it to be. Jol momos, was okay Hospitality is very nice and they welcome us with a warm smile.

It's best Indian food we have found in Grand Rapids! They are super flexible and willing to help customize meals. We have vegetarian and vegans in the mix. Very helpful when ordering different meals and different spice levels. The quality and portion sizes are worth the price! It's not the most elegant place, but it's very clean and nice. With food this good, no one will care about maitre d and bottle service.

Best place for Indian and Nepali food:))

Wow. I ate here a few hours ago and I'm still thinking about it because it was THAT good. My husband had the chicken curry with Naan. I had the mattar paneer with the dal shorva (lentil soup). We shared the samosas. Obviously, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs but for less than $50, we got a meal for there and plenty of leftovers for later. Highly recommend. I'm bummed we waited so long to try it!

We have never had Indian or Napul food befor eating here. We were very happy with our butter chicken, Methi chicken, chili dumplings and samosas. I did not know how much heat we could handle so she just did med heat. It was only spicy in a good way not a I'm dieing from heat way. It's the next day and the curry is punching my spouse but I feel good and I think the left overs will be a great treat for later.

Very worst food ever had. I ordered lamb biryani and soup dumblings. Biryani tested like left over from night and not even test like biryani. Amd soup chicken dumbling was one of the worst test i ever had. Come on.. most people know how to make it.. And how to add spices in kima.. So worst.. Like cheating people.. Never want to go there and I recommen people not to go and waste money there... 🙄🙄

They serve one of the best chinese and nepali food in grand rapids. I drive from portage to satisfy my cravings for chinese food. I usually order their veg fried rice and keep it spicy and definetly satisfies my hunger as well as my cravings. The only problem I find is I think they do not wash the veggies they use as I always end up having something like soil which is always stuck on veggies if you dont wash them. This kills the taste of food.

Loved the food here! Besides Pind Indian Cuisine downtown, this is the only other Indian restaurant I’ll step foot in.

We tried the chicken biryani, samosas, tandoori chicken & vindaloo! Very good!

I have had some good experiences like the Shrimp kadai and the Chicken biryani from this restaurant. But today, all that got shattered by one annoying experience. I ordered two vegetable biryanis on DoorDash. After waiting for almost an hour, I was given an awful vegetable biryani. There was almost no vegetables in the biryani. I dug the entire rice with a teaspoon to see if there was any hidden trove of treasure anywhere. But I couldn't find anything except some four pieces of french beans, five or six pellets of green peas and few scarcely spread carrot pieces (very tiny pieces, you can't even notice). It annoys me when restaurants do this to customers in order to do cost cutting on buying produce. This kind of attitude is pure greed and doesn't help retain customers in the long run. The ultimate fate of businesses like these will be bad reviews, lost customers and bankruptky.

Delicious, perfectly-spiced food. It's always a treat to go here for dinner. Highly recommended for anyone that likes delicious south Asian cuisine. Staff is always very friendly and accommodating. My wife is allergic to ginger and they always offer to make special dishes without any ginger for her.

I moved to Grand Rapids eight months ago from Nashville, Tennessee and I have been many Indian restaurant in here but the most delicious cuisine I found out is this restaurant. The dumpling is to die for, so delicious. Methi Chicken, Butter chicken, Chowing, goat curry, lamp Rogan Josh and Etc.The staffs are very friendly and welcoming. I’m definitely going back to this restaurant. ❤️

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in the entire Grand Rapids! The vibe inside is nice and the food NEVER disappoints. Anytime I’ve gone here I’ve left with food for at least 2 days. I would recommend anything on the menu honestly but Fish/Shrimp Goan Curry is my all time favorite. Thanks, guys, for a fantastic food experience!

Desi spice is such tasty food!!! I enjoyed this restaurant's momo, mataar paneer, daal, rice, samosa so much at mt friend's wedding which was recently catered by Desi Spice. The Nepali chia (spiced black tea) was phenomenal as well. Very kind staff, great food, what more could you ask for?

I just attended a wedding catered by this restaurant. It was excellent. The veggie dumplings were my favorite! All the food was good and very authentic. I lived in Malaysia for a couple of years and their food reminded me of the food I relished there. I will definitely drop by there restaurant when I am in Grand Rapids.

We had Desi Spice cater our wedding this last weekend and they did such a good job! We had tons of guests who had never had Nepali food before and they couldn't stop raving over how good the food was! The chiyaa and Momo's went so fast and even when the Matter Paneer was a little on the spicy side, they still all loved it. We are so pleased and it was so special to share Nepali food with our family.

I had their food at a catered event and got to try many different menu items. The food was all vegetarian and many skeptical meat eaters at the event really liked the food. Everything I had was top notch.

In my opinion, i feel like they have kinda not bad customers services but the food was not good as anticipated. While we order nepali thali and was hoping for good items but instead there was only 3 itmes and by the way it doesn’t taste really good. As my recommendations i guess adding spanich/sag, cauliflower & yougurds really make special thali and definitely add good taste and bring outstanding reviews.

I went to eat there once and the food was absolutely delicious. The servers were kind and respectful, and the setting of the restaurant was so well built. This is a great restaurant and it is always great to support your local Nepali shop!!!

Loved the food, has a kind and attentive staff. They told us they are using a new recipe for the Tandoori chicken and it was tender and juicy with the perfect combination of spices. Highly recommended.

Service is not good and not yummy

I've been here a few times now to pick up food for dinner on my way in to work and I love the food. So much flavor and just the right amount of spice. I've tried several different entrees and haven't had anything that I did not like.

Great food, great qty. We ordered fried mom's, steamed momos, chicken hakka noodles and chilly chicken. We loved all the items. The haka noodles was shared between 2 of us and we had enough. The chilly chicken was really spicy, but we loved it. The momos are smaller than usual momos, but they were tasty. There was a chutney provided with the momos, that was not that good and so we ate the momos without the chutney. Overall, great experience.

If I could give them more then 5 stars I would. This is by far the best Indian cuisine I have ever had. The chili momo is absolutely incredible! I tried chicken vindaloo for the first time and will for sure get this again. The Kadai chicken is a must have. But most importantly the service is amazing, the family that runs Desi is kind, courteous, friendly and so helpful. If you don’t know what you want just ask! I can’t wait to go back!
