Depot in North Devon

My family and I ate at the Depot whilst staying in Ilfracombe.With it being Sunday we didn’t check or think there was a reduced Sunday menu.This wasn’t a problem however as my wife and I had THE best Sunday lunch we had in a long time! Generous portions of meat and vegetables and we couldn’t eat all of it as it was that filling!My son also had a margarita pizza which looked delicious!Good drinks selection (they had my personal favourite Lowenbrau on draught so extra points there!).Most importantly we felt safe from a social distancing perspective.Would definitely recommend!

Ate here on the last Sunday before lockdown.. We were three adults and two children staying local.and I had booked the night before, no problem. When we arrived I was pleased to see all the covid regulations being adhered to and we were shown to our table. We ordered drinks which promptly arrived then the food order was taken, 3 roasts and two burger meals for the children. All the food portions were massive and of good quality. We were not having puddings until we saw the next tables Sticky Toffee Pudding, which the waitress told us were made on the premises. Two were ordered and one waffle which were all shared.The staff were all really good and looked after us very well and were friendly to the children.We will certainly be back when in Woolacombe again.

Stopped here without a reservation but fortunately table was available. Friendly service, restaurant exceptionally clean with staff following Covid guidelines. Food was really well presented, very yummy (chips are amazing!) and arrived quickly. Puddings were very generous servings so would recommend two spoons :-) Dog friendly, kid friendly Highly recommend.

Booked table and followed Covid guidelines, front of staff showed us to table, plenty of anti-bac around. Staff took drinks order and left menu. Drinks and food arrived promptly, wow nachos with chilli were fantastic, hard to find nachos under the toppings. Followed by Tacos, yummy. Room for dessert? Well we did share sticky toffee pudding which was a wise decision has huge portion. First meal out since February, felt reassured and safe.

Visited for breakfast it was lovely, the young lad/man who served us was very polite and chatty. Lovely atmosphere and very clean 5**** from us.

Family lunch en route to holiday park. Booked us in last minute and were superb. We could even bring the family dog too as they are super dog friendly. Customer service exceptional from everyone who served us. Such lovely, friendly, professional staff. Gorgeous food, good menu, very quick service & everything lovely & clean, which is especially great in these times. Whole family really impressed and can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely love this place! Loved it pre-Covid & love it a bit more now!Beautiful furniture inside - high quality, comfortable seating whilst looking amazing. Food is brilliant - can’t fault a thing. Service was outstanding. Friendly and welcoming staff. Very accommodating. Chatty and helpful. What more could you want!? On our most recent visit to Woolacombe a few weeks ago we visited two days in a row - once for breakfast & the second for roast dinner. Both equally as delicious and generous portions, which sadly meant no room for pud! Felt safe with the Covid restrictions. Very well organised. Clean toilets with doors propped open so don’t have to touch them. Lovely smelling hand soap, which I have now ordered! Thanks so much The Depot. Can’t wait to return.

Was recommended to go here from another restaurant we had booked but they had to cancel and I’m soooo glad they did !!!From outside you would not think it would be a great Sunday dinner , it’s very stylish and hip looking ..... never judge a book by its cover !!!We had the beef and oh my god , it has to be the best Sunday roast I have ever had !!! You didn’t even need a knife to cut the meat it literally fell apart it was cooked to perfection !! The vegetables come out in little pots so you can choose how much you’d like etc etc The parsnip crisps were amazing !!The leek cheese was out of this world !!If I lived nearer to this place I would definatly make it my weekly roast establishment !!You won’t be disappointed !!!

Lunchtime visit as a party of 9. Quickly and efficiently seated and served. Food was great. So impressed we went back the next day!

Great lunch for four as a birthday treat. Greeting by the host was warm and light hearted. Covid rules adhered to. Interesting menu. We chose pulled pork #nachos #chillinachos and #cajun chicken #tacos. All were excellent, hot and full of extras. Loaded fries with veggies to share. As lunches go in these difficult times this was superb.

Enjoyed the visit, it’s American Diner type food, we had a Pizza and Nachos, we shared a Waffle for pud. It’s fine, nothing wrong with it, does exactly what it says on the tin. All the staff were friendly and pleasant, although one male server was not wearing a face covering which when he’s standing above you serving food, taking orders etc is not good, at all. I get that some people are medically exempt, and he may be so, but if that’s the case, he should not be front of house, closely interacting with the public wandering from table to table. For that reason, I wouldn’t visit again.

Very slow service right from the start. We ended up spending an hour their just for 2 breakfasts. Food was ok but not worth the 40min wait from the time we placed our order. Place was not particularly busy. The male waiter seemed to be more interested chatting up the waitress behind the bar. There was 1 waitress that did look rushed of her feet but others were just chillin. chefs not in the kitchen and strolling around whilst tables are waiting for food.Needs better management. Decor nice and clean though hence the extra star.

Good portion size, well priced for size of portion, good service, had breakfast and lunch - enjoyed it! good service covid-19 safe

Visited the Depot for an early dinner and we were not disappointed. They were serving their roast dinner, which came with all the trimmings. We chose the beef which came with two thick slices, perfectly cooked, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, loads of veg and gravy. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and the setting was comfortable and easy going.Great value and fab unexpected Sunday meal.

September 2020 !Went around 4,0clock ,place almost empty,very disappointing meal ,burger over cooked ,manager and 2 waitresses more interested in chatting than customers ,very poor service ,goodness knows what it would have been like if they were busy ,had the most awful so called sticky toffee pudding ,which consisted of a dry piece of brown Cake not mixed properly,and lightly drizzled with sticky toffee sauce ,so avoid .Shame ! Lovely venue ,let down by staff .

4 of us visited, 3 adults and one toddler. The portion sizes were huge. There was nothing “mini” about the kids mini pizza. My Nan and I could have shared it along with my little girl! Our pizzas were enormous too! We were not expecting them to be as sizeable as they were. They were super tasty too. My auntie was really impressed with her chilli beef nachos, great taste and portion size. It was awesome to see that most of the menu was also available in gluten free. If I were to be picky I’d say that the rustic fries and sweet potato fries were overpriced, but we wouldn’t have ordered them had we know how big the pizzas were going to be. Staff were so friendly and professional...especially as my daughter decided to share a lot of her food with the floor! Really impressed with our visit.

Went for a quick brunch with the family. Good Full English and sausage bap was delivered quickly by a young and friendly team. Our hot chocolates were disappointing - about 50% froth and 50% warm chocolate. We mentioned this to the waitress and the very friendly manager was quick to refund us in full no quibbles. Was a little surprised he didn't just offer us a couple of complementary drinks as we were happy to pay, we just expected to get what we paid for! All in all a decent enough diner, albeit perhaps a little on the pricey side. Don't understand comments about rude staff as they were perfectly good with us.

Walked in the man was so lovely untill we got served the women were absolutely rude! No manners what’s so ever they all had pure attitude! We gave them no reason to be rude to us! The food was great but the staff really put a downer on our visit

We had a lovely meal here (2 adults and 2 toddlers). The pizzas are a little pricey (£12-14ish) but they were extremely good and worth the premium. They are cooked in a pizza oven in the open kitchen. The children's meals were massive and also very high quality.Despite being very busy (almost full on a Tuesday evening!), it wasn't crowded and I felt perfectly safe there.We were served by a really nice girl called Briar, who found us a last minute table when we arrived without booking, and she was happy, friendly and helpful throughout the evening (even when our toddlers made a right mess!!). This was our first night on holiday in Devon and Briar gave us a lovely first impression of Ilfracombe!

Kept driving past this place on way to beaches from Ilfracombe and found the murals on the outside amusing so was a bit of a running joke that we had to visit. So glad we did! Burgers and nachos were delicious- did bring all at once rather than nachos as starter but no hesitation in just taking off the bill. Friendly and attentive young staff, nice atmosphere and somewhere a bit different

We did not enjoy our meal sadly.We booked it last minute as there were no other places available in the area and found the place too noisy,too busy,service not great (kind of place where the waitress asks you "what do you want?")and our meals were lacking.We had pizzas which were ok but the burger from the kids menu was appalling.I never experienced anything like it- burger between 2 halves of squashed bun with no cheese,no lettuce,no sauce- just plain dry burger and chips and this was considered a meal.None of us enjoyed it and we are NOT fussy customers,in fact we hardly ever post negative reviews.I would not recommend this place unfortunately.

Spoke to these people yesterday, the man answering the phone was very rude. We were trying to book a table, have been before. Food is ‘ok’ nothing special. We are local, I don’t care how busy they are they should be polite and should also remember they rely on local people when the holiday makers go home! Will never go again and will ‘warn’ friends and family

Are out whilst on holiday last week. Got a booking for Monday early evening limited menu due to current situation . Food came v quickly and was delicious. Attentive service throughout without being OTT. Only disappointed only had ice cream as dessert but understand why. A lot of places could learn from here..stick to what you know and don't overcomplicate things give good service and good food and people will return...we certainly will shame have to wait a year!!

We visited this pub whilst on Holiday in the area on a lunchtime. I tried to book a table online for an evening as we were staying at the neighbouring holiday park but it wouldn't allow me to so we popped in on one of the lunchtimes hoping that we could be accommodated and we clearly were.There are only offering a limited menu at present of pizza, burgers and chicken at present due to recent pandemic.There were lots of spaces in tables and signage around so it felt very safe.The portion sizes were huge so this probably accounts for the prices on the menu. The meals were very tasty and enjoyable.I asked for a carton to take away at least half a portion of the main meal and a neighbouring table also did the same.The service was friendly but slow and in my opinion they could do with my staff waiting on tables.I would definately visit this eatery again if Holidaying in the area in the future to sample some delights off their fuller menu.

Ate here twice while on holiday. Food was lovely and staff were friendly and attentive. Food was excellent. Excellent Covid precautions in place.

Food was amazing but the service was terrible so thought a halfway score was appropriate. I was a lone diner, due to working away, and just felt as though I didn’t mean anything to them. Nobody engaged in conversation with me despite multiple attempts on my part, multiple inappropriate conversations happening around me between the staff, even making fun of one of your staff who I can only assume is gay by saying “you love a bit of sausage/meat don’t you”. He laughed it off but left the group quite soon after and I just wasn’t sure if he actually enjoyed being the butt of the joke.The staff seemed more interested in treating the place like a social club and unfortunately having to serve a few people in between.I’m working away for 5 weeks and usually book a table for every week, sometimes even multiple nights a week, once I find places I like. Food was outstanding, best burger I’ve had in ages........but was just something ‘off’ about the feel of the place.

Visited whilst o holiday in the area, had no problem booking a table in advance. On arrival we were shown to our table, COVID measures in place and adhered to. We were served drinks and food quickly. We had burger, pizza, wings and a kids meal. All came out speedily and were tasty, we would visit again if we were in the area. Thanks for a good experience!!

Went because of eat out scheme and had low expectations, but being a Coeliac I was very impressed with their Gluten Free offering and the burger and nachos were amazing. Probably 2nd best burger ever...Kids and wife also really enjoyed their pizzas and burgers...Will be returning for sure, even outside of eat out scheme. Tables were far enough apart and they took Covid guidance seriously. Will be keeping an eye out for them in other locations.

Emailed well over a week ago to get information about how to go about booking a table and no reply which then led to calling around 18 time’s as they didn’t fancy picking up to be greeted by a rude waiter stating I had to book a week in advance even thought they ignored my email asking how to go about booking and also ignored my calls, glad I cannot eat with you as if your customer service is anything to go by I wouldn’t want to eat there sadly.

Great staff fitted us in as a group of 5 as they had a cancellation limited menu due to COVID But food came out really quick as did the drinks

£35 for two people. Two burgers, a soft drink and a pint. ‘Exmoor beef burger’ tasted like it was frozen, very dry - only ate because we were starving. Chicken burger tasted like 2 birds eye chicken fillets (and it was £13.50!). There’s much nicer places around, so avoid!

We visited here during the week of eat out to help out. We got lucky and a table was available. The staff were really friendly, and professional - the food was tasty. The staff were seating people adhering to social distancing which was good to see. Hand sanitizer is encouraged, and there is a one way system in and out of the restaurant.The menu is simplified, amazing beef chilli nachos which were REALLY good and big enough portions to share. Pizza and burgers for mains. We didn’t get to desserts as were too full! A great find.

Booked during covid discount because of really good reviews. Staff were really polite and good, the food arrived really quickly but it wasn't good. Burger was football van quality, veggie chile quite good, chicken wings really nasty and pizza was okish. I'd go with low expectations and then you should be happy. Not bad with covid discount but would feel cheated at full price.

We had pizzas and burgers and we would definitely recommend the pizzas. It was covid friendly and staff were great and attentive. The restaurant was clean and pleasant enough. It is stuck on a roundabout so would suggest eating inside. Didn't realise it is part of a chain and we had already been to the Sawmills the day before and the food wasn't great there. We did benefit from the 'eat out to help out' scheme but if we had paid full price then we would have been disappointed with the value for money. It was a limited menu so maybe full menu would have given us a different experience.

Popped into The Depot for a relaxed Sunday brunch. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food and coffee were great. Very relaxed atmosphere and loads of space inside. Well worth trying if you are passing.

We visited Depot on our way back from our holiday. The service was great, the food was fantastic. Great food for kids and amazing value for money. Loads of effort gone in to social distancing. Will definitely go back if we’re in the area. Thank you.

First time at a restaurant since lockdown. The restaurant is well organised for social distancing but is not 'dead' in terms of no-body else there. Sanitizers are placed around the tables. Although they are operating on a smaller menu, it's varied and had something for all of us. Staff were friendly and helpful and service was efficient. Meal portions are generous and it was good value for money.I watched how the staff cleared and prepared a table. The table was well sprayed and wiped down but the seating (ie chair seats and backs) were not sprayed or wiped. I asked a member of staff what their cleaning practices were and she said tables and chairs were sprayed and wiped. Perhaps it was just one of those rare occasions when the chairs weren't sprayed.All in all.....well worth going to and we felt safe.

This place has gone to loads of trouble to keep everyone safe from Covid. They’ve only just reopened and are working from a reduced menu but there’s still plenty enough choice. They were happy to cater for our very odd dietary requirements and we loved our meal here. I can highly recommend it!

Popped in for a quick drink en route to woolacoombe, sat outside with a pint and a wine, but £11.50!!!, ouch.

We went here on Saturday 11th July which was the first day they had opened after lockdown and we were really impressed with all the measures they had put in place.The staff were all really friendly and welcoming and were also attentive. I’m a huge nacho fan and pretty critical with them, but I had no criticism with theirs, they were amazing! The rest of the food was good too.

Came for dinner with a few work friends and absolutely loved it! Tasted so so good, the decor was lovely, staff were friendly and good value! Would definitely recommend!

Excellent veggie breakfast, huge portion for the price, all piping hot and well cooked.Decor is fantastic and whole place is clean and tidy and seems well run.Food was delicious and quick, staff were great. Highly recommend and we will be back on our next visit for sure.

We visited with our three boys aged 12,8 and 5 in Feb half term. Firstly for dinner after being out all day in the rail, hail and wind! There was a power cut but that didn’t stop the staff. Great service and wonderful food. My husband and I had the taco’s which were delicious and the boys had cheese burgers and the little one had sausages. Very nicely cooked and very tasty. We left with such a good impression that on our way home we decided to have breakfast there too. 2 full English, a two smaller full English, with pancakes for the biggest boy who’s got a sweet tooth. Absolutely lovely. Prepared us well for 5 hours in the car. We didn’t need to stop for food. If we come by North Devon again we will definitely visit again.

We visited on the 22nd of feb. We had been staying down the road at Golden Coast and always for our last meal we will stop at cook island now DEPOT, I won’t lie I was a bit nervous about stopping somewhere that’s changed hands as we did love Cook Islands menu. BUT I’m so glad we did we had the best pizza ever!!! So we walked in and the inside was lush really nice interior, a gentleman says we could sit anywhere as it was 4:30pm so not quite dinner time so not that many people in. We ordered 2 big pizza’s and a child’s one. It was so good, my daughters love pizza and even they said it was the best they have ever had, she couldn’t finish it all and we asked for a pizza box and they kindly gave us one. The cheese on top was beautiful! The rustic cheesy chips was lush! And they where quickly polished off. PUDDINGS!!! I could of eaten another I had a to die for waffle with clotted cream We thought our bill was going to be a lot more when we got it but actually not bad priced. I’m glad we did stop under the new management and didn’t just drive to find somewhere else. All the staff we spoke to where really friendly. You will be pleased to know we have booked another holiday in the summer (same place) and will again be visiting you on our last day. P.s the pizza the next day was just as good and we all where fighting for slices! A* service, see you soon

Visited the Depot whilst on a short family break on three separate occasions. Firstly for drinks , once for an evening meal and also for a breakfast visit . During each visit we had a very warm welcome, food was excellent and at a good price ! The atmosphere and ambience is relaxing accompanied with exciting artwork inside and out ! Would definitely recommend the Depot for a visit at any time of the day , you won’t be disappointed! Thanks to the staff , will certainly be back when we are next on holiday !

Been here several times and always had a great experience. Today we had an absolute amazing roast! Meat was so tender and served with very tasted roasties, plenty of veg, extra gravy and cauliflower cheese. Would highly recommend!!

The best Sunday roast I have ever had. Unfortunately we are on holiday otherwise this would be my favourite restaurant. In fact if I were in the region, I would drive 40 miles for another Sunday lunch. The meat was tender and full of flavour with the biggest Yorkshire pud I have seen. Plenty of veg and extra gravy. Lovely staff and well decorated restaurant.

We booked a table on Sunday morning for 3pm and told the friendly bar man what roasts we wanted,as he said the can run out if you go later I the afternoon.The toast was amazing, 3 big pieces o very tender beef, a massive homemade Yorkshire pud,roast potatoes and then they bring the pots of veg and cauliflower cheese! This was easily the nicest roast I have had in a long time. My son had a kids roast and it was a decent size with half a chicken.The restaurant itself seems to have been refurbished recently, it is clean with a very nice decor. All in all we great time and would definitely recommend.

We came on a wet windy day to have breakfast, haven't been in since it's been done up and we were pleasently surprised. Good quality ingredients and reasonably priced for the quality too.

Just had a lovely meal for my sons birthday, great service , nice atmosphere and decor , lovely choices on menu for all , good meal size would recommend

Our second visit here this December. Very pleased to see that the new management, the new menu and the new spirit has moved up this place for me from 3 to 5 stars. The service is very good and the persqonnel is very attentive. Will come back here soon. With my dog for he is very welcome here as well

All four of us really enjoyed the food but only had one drink each as weren't prepared to pay the really high prices. £6 for a pint of Guinness for instance. The fact that you have to drive to this pub from the town there is no incentive to stay for a drink and pay for a taxi home. We would think twice about making the effort to go up there if we were only eating then coming nearer to home in ilfracombe for a drink. It seems a shame to charge so much for drinks and not encourage people to stay longer.

This was my second visit to depot this month, both times I really enjoyed the food, friendly staff and love the trendy decor. Great veggie and vegan options I will definitely return very soon thanks 😊

Spent a couple of hours at the Depot eatery this evening, the food was fantastic and the staff were so polite and welcoming, and the Guinness was so good.

We booked a table for 2 on a rainy Thursday evening. When we arrived there where only 3 other tables in the restaurant. We asked for tap water and drinks as soon as we sat down but it took 10 minutes to come in a nearly empty restaurant! We opted for the steak night deal which was good value for money.Again the food took longer to come than expected and when it came the peppercorn sauce for both steaks was stone cold. We waited for a member of staff to come and see if everything was okay but that never happened, so I had to go to the bar and ask for our sauces to be reheated. By the time the sauces where done we had nearly finished our meal. When the waitress cleared our plates we asked for the desert menu. 15minutes had passed, which was strange as we were the only table left in the restaurant! And still no menu, then we turned around and saw all the staff standing at the bar chatting.We decided not to have dessert as the service was so poor we wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Lovely food, great atmosphere, attentive staff, not too expensive, dog friendly. Not much more to say really. The menu offers a large choice so unlikely you wont find anything you like. Give it a go!

Fab food and the decor is quite unique with a rustic appearance. staff are polite and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable. we visited in September while on holiday with our caravan, thoroughly enjoyed our meal - traditional fish chips minted mushy peas with a tartar sauce dip, the fish was huge and really tasty!!! I was quite amazed to see a James classic British bike in the entrance foyer, in immaculate condition too!!! definitely recommend the Depot to eat!!!!

Lovely food and great service. Everyone was really friendly, the environment is really well done. There were many gluten free options including burgers and pizza, I had the chips with chilli and cheese on which where delicious, definately going back during the rest of our holiday.

This was our last night in Ilfracombe and we decided to go to the Depot for a meal. The evening started off well as we were shown to a table quickly and our order taken promptly. There was a short wait for food but we weren't in a rush. When the food arrived it was eatable. My burger was perfectly cooked, but my partner said that his pizza was abit greaser. Considering it was after 8pm on a wet Thursday night, and the place was quiet; at no point during out meal did anyone come to see if everything was OK. Our dirty plates sat on the table for ages, and were only taken away after my partner want to find a waiter to ask for the dessert menu. Due to length of time spent waiting we decided not to have a dessert. Again it took an age to get the bill and had to pay at the bar.Great start but disappointing end. Would like to see the Depot on a busy summer evening!

We visited here on the last night of our holiday & we are soooo glad we did.The place has a great look, friendly helpful staff, yummy menu & delicious food Between us we had 2 lots of nachos with different toppings, bbq pulled pork & cheese dirty fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings & a children's chicken & chips.It was presented lovely & tasted sooooo good.We unfortunately had no room for puddings!!Definitely recommend & if we are back in the area again we will definitely return.

We were not disappointed when we visited. The place has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and great with our 5yr old son. The food was really good quality, the salad had great additions to it and the chips are amazing!! The pizzas were well made, with some really different toppings. Good price too. And great choice of guns!! son.

Visited early evening the staff look to enjoy their work and it shows in the efficiency and quality of their service. The two gentlemen who appeared to be the management were moving constantly about the restaurant checking on tables and running drinks. The waitresses were polite and attentive and the food was exceptional. The tacos are a strong recommendation. We shall be returning

Nice presented restaurant and a good welcome however the customer service soon lacked once seated. We were not asked if our meals were ok, nor if they could get us anything else at any point.I had to flag down a waitress to ask for more drinks and the bill after waiting for around 20mins for someone to come over to the table, clearly we had finished our meals. The food was very nice but the nachos were very difficult to get too, almost needed a shovel to get to the actual tortilla chips as there was so much filling on top - they should have been served on a plate and not a bowl. The wildfires pizzas were delicious.I would visit again.

Very friendly efficient service, nice family atmosphere, food generally good except for mac'n cheese which didn't seem to have any cheese in it and arrived without the promised chips (though this was quickly put right). Worth another visit

Myself and my other half visited this evening with our little one. I have a dairy allergy and our waitress, Lucy, was so helpful and knowledgable with regards to what I could and couldn’t eat. She went the extra mile to make sure the chef was aware and I didn’t feel like an inconvenience (a really common occurrence in a lot of restaurants). They were happy to replace cheese with vegan cheese (which tastes just like mild cheddar) and put other items on the side so my partner could still enjoy them! We shared pulled pork tacos to start which were AMAZING! Best pulled pork I’ve ever had! We also had tacos/a burger for mains which were really nice too. I had a gin (extensive gin list!!) and my other half had a coke and it all came to just under £50. Definitely worth every penny - we aren’t local but if we were we would definitely visit regularly. Would 100% recommend :)

This was our second visit for Sunday lunch and the food was as delicious as our first visit. Rare roast beef was lovely and veg is fresh and well cooked. Decor is modern and clean and the staff are friendly.

With a party of 9 they were able to seat us all together. We were brought our drinks quickly and able to order, our food arrived in good time and was absolutely delicious, 4 of us had the battered ale cod with minted mushy peas, home made tartar sauce and chips, we all ate our meals and so did our children. Would definitely come back here and recommend.

First time I have been here and have to say it was amazing. Holiday in Devon and we thought we would try this restaurant. The service was amazing, friendly and efficient. The food was even better, had the loaded fries. So yummy. Would go again.

We called in after a good soaking while visiting Ilfracombe and on our way back to our holiday cottage in Mortonhoe. So refreshing to see this sort of restaurant in the area compared to the poor quality establishments set up to deal with holiday makers. We loved the decor, friendly attentive service and the varied menu. Both had burgers, Mrs E particularly enjoyed the lamb burger. Shared the key lime pie with a decent portion of clotted cream. Planning to go back for breakfast.

we came in mid week and i had the seabass with mushroom risotto and my wife had the lemon soul fillets wrapped around tiger prawns.. these dishes where professionally presented and full of intresting flavour's, i managed to catch the head chef as he walked through the restaurant and congratulated him on the food..he was very humble and spent the time to write out the recipe for the source which accompanied my wifes meal..we returned today, sunday 22nd for lunch and had, if not the best sunday roast weve ever experienced from any restaurant.. we will be back!

This place has not long had a complete refit and may I say what a fantastic job they’ve done.The food was fantastic, great selection of beverages and the staff were amazing.We have gone to this place for years, when it used to be called cooks island and we loved it then.Well worth a visit.

Great friendly service in fashionable setting. Well presented and perfectly cooked breakfast. Local produce made this the best breakfast we've had for ages.

We are on holiday and last week went to the Depot for an evening meal. The staff were so friendly and the food was good value for money, large portions and very tasty. Visited again this week and had the same experience, attentive staff with a smile and once more good food and quick service. It's also dog friendly which is a bonus.

3rd visit this month which should tell you something. Dirk the manager gave warm welcome and then Tom and crew provided the excellent/friendly service that we have now enjoyed on several visits. Varied Menu to suit all, from Gluten-Free Pizza to a Belting Sunday lunch. Great ambience, good eatery, good food, staff enthusiastic with nothing too much trouble. Pricing spot on for food and drink reflecting quality of food and excellent service. Will be back soon. BELTING!

Had lunch here on a rainy day. Dogs welcome which was great! Good choice on the menu, really something for everyone. Pies, pizza, Nachos etc. Food was really nice, reasonably priced and service good too.

Highly recommend. We visited on the 12th september 2019. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who showed us to our table and supplied our daugther with an activity pack and crayons. The menu is interesting and all of the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked great. We had a nice meal with prompt service. Comfortable chairs, nice atmosphere and modern decor. If your in the area on holiday i dont think you will be disappointed.

Was sceptical as previously visited when it was Cook Island. However glad we did as the whole family enjoyed a good quality breakfast served by friendly, helpful staff.

Dropped into this place to enquire if they can cater for gluten free needs and we were met by the manager who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the menu so we came back later in the evening for a meal. There is a great selection of food and we chose a chicken burger and two cajun chicken taco dishes, one of which was gluten free. The portion sizes were very generous and the food was delicious. My mum doesn't eat a lot and she asked if she could have something off the kids menu which was no trouble at all. Desserts were fab too. Really nice ambience inside and friendly staff make this place a must visit.

First time visit since the changeover from Cooke Island to The Depot. The interior is right up our street with a rustic, driftwood and industrial feel. The food was timely, well presented and absolutely delicious. A simple mistake in our order, was corrected quickly with an appropriate apology but without undue fuss. Coloring for the kids, free news papers and who doesn’t mind paying an extra few pounds when the food is this good! Bravo.

We thought this places looked a bit funny from the outside but inside it’s really nice. Great service and an extensive menu. The kids loved their meal as did we. Great beers on tap and a good atmosphere.

We were lucky to get here before the rush and managed to get a table straight away although after that there was a queue out of the door. The food was good and service good. Obviously a popular place. Looks good following an upgrade in decorating

We had a lovely meal, tasty chips and burgers. Dogs are welcome and have treats and water. Waited short time to be sorted, staff busy and work hard. Food came reasonably quick. Nice would recommend

We called in here for some food after a day at the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was good and very reasonably priced. We’ll definitely be back!

Depot’s recently been redecorated and its industrial decor is super stylish and makes for a modern but chilled out bar/restaurant. Good amount of veggie and vegan options. I ordered the halloumi tacos and they were beautifully presented and delicious. I’d have welcomed at least double the amount of sour cream, salsa and guacamole (maybe this is me being greedy!) but there was a good amount of grated cheddar and lettuce. I wish there were more of these dotted around the country as it really was a lovely restaurant to go to (just a shame it’s so far away from home!).

I had lunch with my two children when we arrived too early to check in at the holiday park next door. We'd been travelling for hours and found the restaurant to be clean, relaxing and welcoming. The menu is quite varied although some things did seem a bit expensive.I had the halloumi & houmous sourdough open sandwich and both children had the mac 'n' cheese. We were all really happy with the food (taste-wise and portion size). My only gripe would be that there didn't seem to be any dessert options. We weren't offered any, and didn't remember seeing any on the menu. I wasn't going to ask but if it had been offered I would have given in to my tiny dictators requests!We only stayed for 2 nights but if we were here longer I would have liked to come back for brunch one day - maybe next time!

Popped in here when passing by and asked if any availability [Aug Bank Hol]. Staff were very accommodating to ensure we were seated and this was also evident with additional customers after us. Service was great and food was excellent. Restaurant is tastefully refurbished - we would highly recommend this to anyone passing or staying in the area.

I drove past The Depot yesterday having eaten at another local eatery and chose to eat there today. It was busy. The car park was full and rather too small. We found a table outside and were told we’ll have to wait 30-40 minutes. We were pleasantly surprised when five minutes later we were invited inside to a ‘tall table.’ Food and drink service was good, waiting staff running around to meet the demands of a full house. Guiness was good! Our party of four had Beef and Ale Pie (me) loads of meat, a stack of fries and enough vegetables on the side. The others had BBQ chicken that was huge and apparently very tasty. Nachos, fully loaded and fully loaded fries. All good. Dessert we had ice cream (£1.5 for one large scoop) or Victoria Sponge (£2). Good value. Including drinks the bill was just over £80. In happy with that.

Great service and friendly staff. The food was very nice and all fresh and tasty. Not the cheapest. Decorated very nicely inside.

We Waited to be served whilst the bar man did drinks for tables, no conversation at all...attempted a conversation with him myself and just showed complete disinterest in me! May aswel have rolled his eyes! We Sharply finished our drinks and left! A smile costs nothing!

The reason being that it is trendy, relaxed, packed with friendly staff and they do slightly different to your normal ‘pub’ food, tacos and nachos being the staple choice. Great food, decent sized portions, a little higher than average pricing but not poor value.

First visit since the renovations and the restaurant is lovely. We were seated quickly and drinks, food ordered quickly. Food was good. I felt the service could have been improved. We were left with the dirty plates on our table until we decided to leave ( half an hour later). No one came to take them, offer us further drinks or dessert. We paid the bill at the bar. We were seated at table 12 and wished we had asked to move as it was right next to the doors and the flies around the dirty plates and whilst eating was not pleasant.

Ate breakfast with my family. 3 of us had the smaller breakfast while the 4th had pancakes. Really good food. Staff were lovely and friendly. Lovely modern renovation.

The meals have nicely sized portions and the service is friendly. But lack in offers during the whole week. Would be better if they had different offers like taco night or nacho night etc. Also maybe refillable drinks then would’ve been a 5 star. But overall the food is good quality and good proper sizes and the sides are also good. The price is ok but good for the food. Ordered 5 mains, 3 sides and 5 drinks and it just came under £100 (a proximally £96). BiG Thankyou to the staff for serving with a smile and being friendly. Would recommend if you’re looking for a delicious meal to fill you up. (I recommenced the burgers)
