Delight Express in Kirklees

Me and my family come here regularly for our favourite salt and pepper chicken and chips. Really lovely food always, never disappoints, and really lovely staff. My partner is vegetarian and he really loves their veggie chicken too! Would 100% recommend!

Excellent food for a Chinese takeaway

Great food fast service but venue on a busy main road and traffic lights

Moved to this area 4 years ago and not found a decent Chinese with a good food hygiene rating but first time ordering tonight and it’s absolutely beautiful food definitely will be the place for my Chinese food in future thank you!

Meal was ok, expected sweet and sour chicken to have chicken with batter and not chicken nuggets! Other than that it was good, check the prices before you go as the menus on here are not up to date!

Food was great fast delivery great value for money

Tried here for the first time today. Everything was spot on, lovely hot fresh food. This could be our new local takeaway.

Best chinese going and everything is cooked to perfection the food is so tasty well done to Chef and workers beautiful.

Food delivered really fast but my goodness was it bad, there is no way it was cooked on the same day. It was stale & I had to bin most of it. Wish I had a different experience as I don't get take out often & was really looking foward to it.

First time we've tried this takeaway and got to say we should have tried it sooner. The only Chinese takeaway where the pork isn't thinly sliced, but chunks of what appeared to be belly pork, cooked to perfection. Chicken Satay was also well cooked but could have been spicier. The prawn toast was to die for and noodles were very tasty. Cost us around £23 for collection and enough for another meal for 1 the following night. Will definitely be ordering again 👌

First order for a long time but will be ordering again. Every thing was hot & the portions were large. Special curry, chicken and mushroom chips fried rice lovely. Got enough for tea day after.

Thought we'd give the new ownership a try. The food we got wasn't bad enough to throw straight in the bin, but was bad enough to say we definitely won't be returning.

The food from here is always so good. I've ordered from here a few times now. I always order a mushroom chow mein, fried rice and King prawns sweet and sour Cantonese style. The prawns are to die for so crispy and sweet and the mushrooms chow mein is gorgeous. The staff and delivery drivers are always so lovely. Highly recommend. Thank you.

First time i have used this takeaway since it changed hands . The food was exellent and the portions big. I couldn't possibly eat all the rice, one portion is enough for 2 people.

I've not been eating for a while due to illness. Today really fancied crispy duck. Eaten more than I have done for months it was perfect. Delivery very quick and hot when arrived. Thankyou

Our local takaway was closed so decided to use here. Food disgusting, dishwater curry and half cooked rice. Avoid this place and don't waste your money as it is more expensive than other Chinese take outs. Just Gross

We don’t eat many takeaways tonight’s is our third in the last few months the staff are always polite and happy to help we ordered special fried rice and special Szechwan with boiled rice plenty of meat and prawns arrived piping hot in the given timescale good sized portions highly recommended

Just move into the area and found a great Chinese takeaway. No complaints, bought 5 different dishes and they were all great. Have ordered again and will continue to order from here.

Been in Gawthorpe/Ossett nearly 3 years and have been dissatisfied with every chinese takeaway we've had. Got a selection from here for the first time tonight and it was by far the best we've had since being here. 4 different starters and a few mains all really nice.

The food was awful. Sweet and sour chicken tasted like pure vinegar. It all went in the bin.

Been here a few times since it reopened. I really like it, tried a few different dishes and all have been nice. My partner is proper fussy about curry sauce and theirs is perfect.

Having recently moved within walking distance of delight Express, I was "delighted" pardon the poor pun, the food is excellent and the service is much in the same excellent bracket!!! My only concern was my chicken in lemon sauce had pineapple in it, which I'd never seen before! Tasted OK though!

First time trying from this takeaway the food was really nice and i was very surprised how quickly my order came your delivery driver was at my door only 20 minuites after ordering so everything was hot 👍

Lovely staff however the food wasn’t great. Very bland/tasteless with slimy prawns, just tasted a bit strange. Sadly we won’t be rushing back...😩

Wont be going again 1st visit since it changed from China Garden. The food was not to the same standard and a simple request could not be carried out. No veg in noodles and there was more beandprouts (allergic to) and spring onion than actual noodles.

Food so bland and sauce so so so watery! Flavourless chow mein, chicken satay bland, prawns not cleaned properly and to be honest I was so disappointed I had to write this! And I never leave reviews! Shame you couldn't carry on the quality of those before you, please change chef or something!!!

Ordered Sunday night after my Dad recommended it. We normally go to the Kowloon. It was Absolutely beautiful, very clean tasting, not greasy like some chineses, chicken very tender in the Chow mein and the Singapore fried rice was just the right spice, if you want it spicy I would tell them. Chips were crispy and hot and the curry sauce was very tasty. My new regular Chinese.

Before it was China delight, it was named China Gardern, I have used China Gardern for years 2 to 3 times a week, and it was the best tasting food for miles never had any complaints with the food, it was first class, so being a loyal customer, I tried the new china delight, well the first time we went the food was awful tasteless and watery we ended up leaving it, so I thought ok it’s only been open a couple of days, so we ga them another go a week later, let them find there feet, we ordered over £30 worth of food, same agin food was disgusting prawn toast was tasteless, rubbery fatty, curry was watery, boiled rice was hard and tasted oily, chips was scrappy and felt like they had been fried a few times, chicken fried rice was over cooked with the smallest amount of sauce on it, chicken balls in batter was so hard after you cut the hard bits from it it was worthless to eat, the food was awful everything about this place now is not enjoyable any more, after years of using china Gardern for years and enjoying every meal, I won’t be using china delight never agin, they have made a good place into a tasteless takeaway you should avoid and spend your hard earned money on a new Chinese place, I would not rate this takeaway to anyone, STAYC CLEAR!!!!!!!!

So the old one shut and this new one opened a few days ago. Well it's nothing like the old one. Never had a problem food was always spot on. My partner went and ordered and sat waiting nearly an hour. 1st they forgot the chips 'ok fair enough as they were busy'. We live a few mins away by the time she got home it was cold!! The rice was burnt and the gravy was very lumpy as though not mixed properly as it tasted like granules. The Cantonese style sweet and sour chicken was meant to be cooked with peppers etc yet they were raw. The prawn toast didn't taste right either as well as been burnt. Not a great start. Won't be ordering again.

The best Chinese takeaway in the area. Never had a complaint, it tends to be always busy with telephone orders so prepare to wait, though not overly long.

Disgusting absolutely spoiling my taste for Chinese food!!they are a disgrace to the Chinese culture , me and my family had to go to the doctors as we had food poisoning and had to take a few days of work and school .I am so confident to say this place should be shut down and in the rest of my life time I will never order here again !!!

I was utterly disappointed with my latest meal from China garden shawcross dewsbury. I've been ordering food from here since the day it opened 20 some years ago & I've never had a complete but the standard of food was well below anything I've had. It was almost like it had been from the day before & warmed up, rubbery even. I rang to complain but was just dismissed hence I will not order again. Sad day

I rang up to order, when I picked it up the lady was really nice chatting away. When she gave me my order she explained that what I had ordered wasnt on the menu but she had made it especially for me.... really impressed. (And its not on the menu I checked ha) Food was gorgeous too!
