Lindley's in Kirklees

We don’t get there as often as we’d like, but today called for chicken tikka panini, malteser millionaire and coffee. Absolutely faultless!!! Beautiful food as always. A little gem 😋😋

2 drinks and 2 inedible “melts” for £18. Very strange service, got bombarded as we walked through the door. The older lady working there got in a strange mood because we hadn’t decided on drinks yet, even though she was politely asked to let us have two more minutes to decide, got in a huff and a puff and stormed downstairs. The food was awful. 2 raw baguettes with a burnt edge on one side, not sure how that is possible but they achieved it! . Sloppy tomatoes, half melted grated mozzarella and some oil dripping out of it which was meant to be “pesto”. Only positive thing was my canned drink! Pricing is absurd for the food that was given.

A reasonably priced little cafe, tucked into Lindley's vibrant high street. Well worth a trip.

A very disappointing full english breakfast in all honesty. The bacon tasted very stale and was a little hard. The sausage had no colour and was soft. The beans and tomatoes were served in pots which were very chipped which was a little off putting. Wanted to try out a different cafe in Lindley but was very let down by this breakfast.

Always had good experiences here until today. 20 questions as soon as we touched the 'wrong' menu....staying in or taking away, food or just drinks? Asked exactly like that....no pleasantries whatsoever. Every customer was treated exactly the same. No please, thank you or otherwise. Ordered an iced latte...the response was 'a what?' and then got told no loyalty stamps for cold drinks.....oh and she didn't tell me this but apparently you only get half a drink too. Such a shame as the lady who's normally in is lovely but I definitely will not be returning. Shocking attitude in a customer facing position and I'm more annoyed at not getting over my shock quick enough to walk out before I ordered.

I've had a coffee with my friend. And it was a great cup of coffee. But as soon as we open the door we were bombarded with questions "Are you eating in or take away, are you staying in for a drink" I felt really uncomfortable. Nothing like "Hi, good morning"

Lovely lunch, good service, reasonably priced

Arrived in Lindley and while the better half was shopping I looked for a cafe, most were busy, this was not ( 1st red flag) Ordered breakfast and coffee, however bacon was like shoe leather, and the black pudding was akin to a biscuit ( thin and crispy) the rest was ok if lost on the plate, I left the dregs ( cold beans) and 1 of the anemic 2 slices of toast ( the egg , sausage and plum tomato was ok). However the Americano with hot milk was a no-show. Sadly I was not the only victim as the white toast ordered by a lady ( the only other person in that room) was a distinct shade of brown wholemeal, so there seems to be some mid-communication between front of house and the kitchen gnomes!

Stopped for a quick coffee. Service was quick and friendly. Used upstairs seating which was quite and had a view out to Lindley high street. Limited downstairs seating. So not ideal for those with prams or limited mobility.

Beautiful food with real attention to detail, served by very friendly staff, in a lively, comfortable café. We are so pleased we found this place. An absolute joy to have lunch here.

Popped in for take away coffee today, coffee was fine but manager was miserable, impatient with her staff and atmosphere was very unpleasant.

Lovely little dog friendly cafe with great food

Have been before and it was lovely, however today the poached eggs were hard and there was a hair in the milk jug. The young lad serving us however was lovely and polite. The lady downstairs just a note if you going to comment on a customers weight I suggest you either wait till they have left the shop or keep your opinions to yourself. You don’t know if they have health issues. Very rude and impolite

Went in this morning around 08:40am; the lady behind the counter was so rude. Doesn't even say hello when you walk in and doesn't even look at you just barks at you, total lack of manners.

Great local cafe , good coffee , breakfast, cakes, lunch whatever you fancy. Home cooked or largely home made. Plenty of room upstairs. Don t be fooled by the one table downstairs!!

Delicious sandwiches and really friendly staff

Absolutely delicious lunch time sandwich. Friendly staff and tasty food at reasonable cost, and a surprisingly good choice on the menu. What more could you want?

Ordered two Hazelnut Lattes to go, they stayed piping hot during my 10 minute walk home. The latte was great with a strong flavour of Hazelnut from the syrup. There was a bit of wait to be served and to the receive the drinks but this was due to the two staff members being very busy with other orders. This was my second trip to Lindley's and I will definitely go again.

Food tasty enough, but the place isn't very clean. Ordered 2 meals on boards + 2 cold drinks and both boards were dirty, with old food staining the handles, looks as though the board's get a quick wipe with a wet cloth and nothing more. The glasses looked cloudy and it wasn't until we'd emptied them that we could see there was a film inside, again they don't look as though they get washed properly. On top of all that, there were flies buzzing around. On that score, we won't be visiting again.

Got a couple of takeaway sandwiches. Lovely cafe, friendly staff and good value for money. Had a roast veg and Hummus sandwich. Was a bit light on the roasted veg which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

Always fantastic, friendly service. The prawn Marie rose with avocado on brown is my favourite (so much so they don’t even need to ask who’s made the order). Also, if you haven’t tried yet, their salted caramel brownies are to die for!

Love my regular Friday breakfast in here, this cute little cafe has great food on offer. I just had a fab breakfast, all the food is well presented and fresh. The cafe itself is cost and very welcoming. Great staff in there too

Lots of choice on the menu, I have something different every time I visit and haven't had anything I haven't enjoyed. Portions sizes are very generous, so as tempting as the cakes look I never have room! The staff are always lovely and make helpful recommendations to help you narrow your choice!

My hubby had eaten here a couple of times and on arrival this time was told could not sit in to eat as he left it messy the day before!!! I mean come on messy??? Wasnt asif he had a food fight in there or anything he is a man so not a child. Id hate to even think wat they would be like with kids. The staff need to go on hospitality courses and i cant see it being open much longer if thats how they treat people
