Deli Darbar in West Dunbartonshire

We have been dining at the Delhi DarBar since it opened circa 1991. Tonight we went for a family birthday meal which was excellent! Everything about the Delhi Darbar oozes excellence... The choices, the standard of food, preparedness to go off menu, the attention to detail and the ambiance are all factors that make for a great experience. If you are ever in the Dumbarton area, passing through or live further afield it is well worth a visit. We have travelled far and wide and have not experienced a curry as good as the Dehli DarBar ever!! Well done all and thanks once again for a memorable evening.

Excellent food- as good as some of the best in Glasgow. We come here every couple of months and it's always great. The curry sauce in particular is awesome.

Awesome variety of spicy and moly food, and the cuisine is just brilliant! We have it very frequently. Highly recommend! 😁

Cannot rate this place highly enough! The portions were enormous and the price beyond reasonable - the cuisine was absolutely delicious and we were thoroughly stuffed by the end of it. It’s taken all my strength not to go back for more x

Saturday evening ordered takeaway at 6.30 with an delivery at 7.45 contacted restaurant 8.20 ammend delivery 8.45. Preceded to redial number with no reply or hung and even put phone down on me. Delivery arrived at 10pm, 3 and a half hours after order, food was cold, pakora inedible one curry burst in bag. Was a waste of £32. Contacted them afterwards and was told just to get my money back from just eat, by the way, just eat gave me £5 compensation, wow!!! Please don't use this takeaway as the service is atrocious and food is substandard. I will not be back to this place.

Toilets are poor. No hot water. No soap. No sanitizer. And a hand dryer that would take longer to dry your hands than a covid lockdown. Restaraunt lacks heating. The grub is good. I think maybe the focus is leaning towards carry out rather than sit in.

We were staying in Dumbarton for one night in the Loch Lomond apartments above this restaurant. We were in town and called the restaurant in advance to book a table for 10 o’clock as we knew it closed at 10.30pm and wanted to make it was ok. We were assured it was fine as long as we were paying cash. On arrival, the restaurant was empty and the guy who said it was fine to go at 10 o’clock immediately pressured us into ordering and his attitude was quite rude and unwelcoming instantly making all four of us very uncomfortable. After telling him we would review his restaurant on trip advisor, he suddenly became very friendly and told us his name was viki. Our food arrived and it was mediocre, however, whilst half of our party were still eating, he started to clear the table, very unprofessional in my opinion! I asked him if he owned the apartments upstairs as our rooms had the same furniture as the restaurant. He then became very defensive and started to rush us out. We were recommended this restaurant by a local resident but based on our experience, I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. We had driven 8 hours from London and just wanted a relaxing meal. After being closed for almost 2 years due to COVID 19, I thought any local business would appreciate the custom, apparently not so in this restaurant!

I ordered last Friday as was my sons girlfriends birthday and thought we’d leave the cooking to the experts! The meal was delicious, everything very fresh tasting, hot and well spiced. My only suggestion would be with the pakora sauce, it was very unusual tasting and dark on colour and quite thick. We would all have preferred the more traditional light pink sauce.

We visited the Delhi Darbar for a last minute dinner to celebrate an anniversary, was the best decision. Good: The food was incredible, and decor was traditional and kept really clean. The service was great, the staff member was super friendly and food came quick. Both our meals were great and portions are perfect for one person. They also had a track and trace measure in place. Not so good: The menus could do with a update, ours were torn and outdated. Also if you’re into your deserts they didn’t have a great choice...however we would prefer an outstanding traditional dinner (which it was) over desert choice. Will absolutely be back!

We have been customers of the Deli Darbar for 30 years ! Until we moved to Australia! We always visit every time we visit home ! And this time didn’t disappoint like every other time ! Our meals we had, starters and mains were absolutely fantastic! Just like we always remember! We would if we lived here again eat in here every nite !!! Lol Thank you Mr Singh

A wee secluded restaurant,Perfect.Amazing food has been for years.You won't want to go anywhere else.Why not give it a try,you won't regret it .

Wow- the place was totally empty- but don’t be put off. We ordered biriyani which came with a sauce and a very moist and tender chicken Masala plus a stuffed paratha and raita. The brazier was lit to warm the dishes and it was all really good. Go there! We had tons of food as portions generous. Good value and delicious. Inlaid tables are really beautiful too.

Visited on a Thursday night. We were the only ones in the restaurant which had us a tad concerned. Service was very attentive, the food was absolutely delicious, beware the size of the naans, humongous! Drinks cold. Couldn’t pay with eftpos, apparently machine not working, oldest trick in the book. Seats extremely comfortable.

6 of us ate here and all really enjoyed. Excellent service and tasty food. Good menu with plenty of choice and freshly cooked. Would definitely return

We have just had a lovely meal . Tender chicken and extremely tasty paneer starter . Compliments to the chef and the waiter for friendly service . We will return .

Turn up, sit down, get served with what you want. It’s clean, has great staff and is great value. What else can I say. Pakora is ace

good food...good prices...£68 for 4 people..I ordered chicken madras...boy was it hot...more like a vindaloo...my mate had the same and he said it was hotter than usual...decor a bit doubtful...more like a bathroom than a restaurant..tiles everywhere..friendly though

website showed 8pm booking time, but phoned and got 6pm seat. Had drinks and starters, Then 4 differet main courses. There was plenty for us to eat. Complimenary drinks attend of night. Only 1 person serving and service was a bit slow between courses.

Sitting in the house tossing coin between delivery and Sit In. Went to Delhi Darbar, food was fantastic. All very fresh, staff were friendly. Didn't have a beer as driving, next time will try a wee cobra. Very nice meal fresh. Also not a giant...

Had tried the delhi dar bar in bishopbriggs and that was first class but this one was nearer and this one was also first class great food and friendly staff will definately be back

We have been going to the Delhi Darbar for more than 25 years, so know what to expect and yet again we are delighted with our meal. Lovely fragrant and spicy chicken tikka achari and chicken tikka.
