Bollywood Lounge in West Dunbartonshire

Couldn't eat it, far too many chillies in mild to medium dish. Such a shame as all the good reviews it had. Never had garlic mushrooms in Puri bread before, but it was OK. Will stick to Delhi durbhar or Mashala twist in future.

Staff need to be a bit more hospitable.

Had a home delivery tonight, the food was blow your head off good. We might have paid a little more than elsewhere but the food was worth every penny. Delivery was fast and efficient , food still hot when we got it. We got the set meal for two, and there was more than plenty there. Best curry I’ve ever eaten, thanks. Lovely delivery lady also.

We have ordered food from here several times and we were always happy with it. Today we received Pakoras with uncooked potatoes inside. Called to restaurant and said about this,only to be told that this is impossible. Waiter and chef argued with us for over 15 min on phone and still didn't admit to that even that I was telling that they can send a driver and take them back to see that they have raw potatoes inside. Was told that I was shouting at waitress where she actually hardly let me speak. Absolutely horrible treatment of customer! At the end chef has said that they will not charge us for Pakoras in next order but definitely won't be ordering from there again as even curries wasn't good today as in our previous orders.

Ridiculous waiting time of just over 2 hours. Food was missing items. Why not call customers or let them know that food will be late? Had to call and it sounded like they weren't that bothered. It used to be really good but probably won't use them again.

Ordered takeaway and waited over an hour and a half for it to be delivered, I was told they were busy and it would be an hour, but still shocked at how long it took to arrive, the delivery driver was lovely (hence the two stars) but the food wasn’t great, the chicken was over cooked and the chips soggy 😫. I won’t order from here again.

Amazing got a meal for 4 last night and all the dishes were amazing had left overs today and gave them to my parents they said its the best they have tasted I got chicken tikka masala never ever tasted one as good as that thankyou and great value even my parents coming through next weekend for a takeaway from rhu korma was amazing to

lovely food wish the indian restaurants in scotland would use the red keema in the keema garlic nans like they do in wales but great service went to pick it up and the restaurant looks immaculate can’t wait to go for a sit down meal definitely worth the visit if you like indian

After putting a general question on Facebook and after having some rotten takeaways elsewhere several said Bollywood. So we ordered a lamb and chicken ceylonese korma and it’s is the nicest food I have ever tasted. Every mouthful was full of flavour and tasted absolutely delicious. I now have a new favourite. Thank you Bollywood 😊

By far my favourite takeway. The food is consistenly superb. They do the best vegetable pakora with the lovely pink sauce! I frequently have a chicken tikka Rogan Josh which is absolutely delicious but I've also had the Mirchi Korma, Traditional Curry, Malaidar (all chicken tikka) amongst other dishes and have never been disappointed. Delivery is usually within the hour and it's rare that you would wait much longer than this.The staff are really polite and friendly.My go to place when I can't be bothered cooking. Would definitely highly recommend to anyone.

Had a lovely South Indian Garlic chilli here, lamb was on the chewy side but delicious nonetheless. Food was great and atmosphere was very relaxed. Many thanks to Raj, who was very cheery and helpful. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

We used to order our food from here a couple of years ago and the food was good but after a while we noticed a lower standard of food being delivered and stopped going there. I'm pleased to say we went back about a month ago and since then have been going back there ever since. the food is no longer a hit or miss, it's perfect every time! I am so glad I went back to this restaurant because I can honestly say it's now the best Indian restaurant in Dumbarton! Try it for yourself.

We have just been to the Bollywood lounge in Dumbarton. The staff are very attentive and their food is to die for. Their garlic nan bread is the freshest I've ever tasted and both our curries were amazing. We had the Balti vindaloo strength as requested and their south indian garlic chilli . Wow both dishes amazing. Thank you so much for a great evening Bollywood lounge. We will deffo be back when up this way again.

Worked up in this part of the world on several occasions, and as typical found this place on the final night of our final trip to Dumbarton, was better than the rest of the restaurant’s in the town!. Starter (mixed kebab) was immense.

Avoid at all costs. Found a very large piece of metal in my food which could have killed my kids myself or my wife, we were very very lucky. I received a nasty cut to my mouth and a burst tooth filling. Being going to this Indians for years aswel attitude was disgusting and very disappointing shouldn't be severing and selling food with this attitude. I was called a liar and they denied all knowledge, liability also refused to refund my £27.50 keep it obviously the money was more important than health and saftey of my young family and me lucky to escape with my life.

Ist time trying this restaurant for takeaway. Absolutely gorgeous, very fresh and flavoursome. Garlic nan was a tiny bit oily for my liking bit rest of family liked it. Would recommend cauliflower pakora and chicken bhoona. Rice was fluffy and not all stuck together. Would definitely return. Top notcheroo 🙂

Place looks very drab with paint peeling off the ceiling in clumps. Restaurant smelt of stale cigarettes. Presumed it was the owner who served us but was very antisocial.Service very slow, got fed up of waitingFood - ordered Haggis Pakora, which was soggy. Spicy chicken Korma, it came out like wallpaper paste which was bland with chilli’s, thought Korma was supposed to be sweet and creamy with a nutty taste. Complained so the chef added ginger and garlic, sorry but no better at all.Most definitely the worst curry I’ve had ever.Only positive was the food was hot in temperature.Save your money and go elsewhere.

Fabulous takeaway on Saturday night for 8 people lady who took order was fantastic sorting out a mix up on Just Eat and the food was amazing just moved back to the area and tried a few others which are very good but this is definately the best for quality and ptice

Really impressed with the food and service at Bollywood lounge - highly recommended. We were a table of 6 and ordered various dishes, all were packed full of flavour and very tasty. We will definitely be back when next visiting the area.

We ordered last night for dinner at 6pm and was told it would be an hour, an hour past with still no food, called the restaurant back and was told 730pm “it’s on its way”, it then got to 8pm and still no food. We live 5minutes from restaurant. We called up to cancel and was advised that they didn’t realise how busy they were and took too many orders.So why not call us back to advise us when they knew this instead of lying? They advised they would tell the driver not to bring our order and I said for a gesture of good will we should be getting it for free, to then be advised “I’m not giving you £50 of free food” the way we were spoke to by the staff was shocking, I was mid sentence and passed onto someone else, both were very defensive and cheeky. Surely if the food had been with the driver the right thing to do would be to just give us it as it would of went to waste? So instead of doing the right thing, the food went to waste or was it that the driver still never had our order?! You do not speak to people like that on the phone, customer service should be the number 1 priority. I’ve never been treated like that and there was no willing to help or apologises for their mistakes. Shocking customer service.

Dinner tonight consists of reheated chips 🍟 sauce that tastes funny compared to normal, used to be the best Indian in and around Dumbarton, looks like they are just putting out any old junk which is a red flag showing a lack or effort, its sad as it can be really good Stop telling outright lies, I asked you politely one time and quietly while I was in to not burn the chips, they are either always burned or not cooked through, you then went to take them out the bag/order that night and I said its not any use to me if I can't buy chips with a meal, so I walked out 👍 learn to cook the way you used to and learn some manners and you'll keep people coming back over and over

Wonderful meal last night! Lovely service, great menu (fish pakora was immense) and very good wine. So glad to have finally found a quality restaurant in Dumbarton and can’t wait to come back. Just wish they were open for lunch on weekends but we can hang on until dinner.

Another amazing meal at Bollywood Lounge. Tikka, balti and mixed tandoori grill ordered along with peshwari and plain naans. Absolutely amazing!! Staff so helpful, atmosphere chilled, feels very safe Covid wise and just a lovely dining experience. You must give this restaurant a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic bhaji starter! Friendly and quick service. All curry's come with veggie/ paneer option which was great for us. The daal was delicious. Nice interior and ambiance.

We just stopped by Bollywood Lounge on the off chance of getting a curry on a Sunday night as we were coming out of Glasgow and it was amazing! The staff were super friendly and the food was brilliant, one of the best curries I’ve had in a long time! It was really fresh and great quality. Would highly recommend!

We went here on Friday, service was great, the staff were so lovely and the food was delicious 😋 we enjoyed it so much we ordered the same for takeaway tonight lol The restaurant is decorated beautifully too. Felt relaxed and comfortable. Another thing that we had noticed and feel it should be commented upon, the place was immaculate. The bathrooms were sparkling. Absolutely the cleanest toilets I have been in for years! No dust or grime hiding in corners or between tiles. Absolutely spotless.

We were on the hunt for a gluten free restaurant and Google was a complete minefield, however Dumbarton was already confirmed as the stop off destination. After searching Google maps for the most enthralling culinary experience available, we spotted a (G) on the Bollywood Lounge take away menu online. This was the one. After entering through a doorway on the high street and ascending the stairs of Bollywood Lounge, we were met with a friendly greeting and we knew all would be well - we were in safe hands. We were provided with amazing portion sizes and incredible flavour. So much so that we took the rest to go. All round, a fabulous experience with incredible staff who went above and beyond the call of duty.

First time here. Fantastic food. Great service. We’re definitely coming back. It’s an honest review. I’m not easily pleased!

My husband and I visited here for our anniversary dinner in July having had our son and girlfriend recommend here. Well….we were not disappointed! We were greeted by a beautiful host who was friendly, helpful and professional. We decided on our drinks, and decided on our meal and gave our order. We were served promptly with our drinks and shortly presented with our starter platter….absolutely delicious array of Indian starters which we ate with delight. A short time later we were presented with our main courses, rice and Nan bread. I honestly can say it is the best Indian cuisine I have ever had the pleasure of eating! Simply amazing! We told the beautiful host how happy we were with the food and she explained it was her Father who is the chef and how it is a family business etc. We had a lovely experience with delicious Indian food and Cobra beer (first time for me) and will definitely be back again very soon!

One of the best Indian Punjabi authentic restaurant , we don’t try Indian restaurant generally however we were on holidays in Scotland and decided to go for it. Service - excellentFood - excellent Must try if you are in area. I think I have eaten the bestest Garlic Nan in last 5 years since I have been in UK. Thank you for super hospitality and great food.

What a fantastic Indian, the outside view doesn’t entice you but the reviews are spot on. Inside the restaurant is set out really nice and the booths in the window are lovely. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Amazing food, piping hot and big portions. Quite spicy but very authentic. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

The Bollywood lounge is situated on top of Holland and Barrat on the high street. We went every night (4) of our holiday because the food was so good. Excellent sized portions, and you can tell that it has been freshly prepared.! The restaurant itself is really clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We met the lady who owns it ( I think ) on our last night and she was really lovely to talk to. I would really recommend this place to everyone. (Beer was lovely too.!!). Brilliant.

DO NOT order a jalfrezi. It tastes worse than a Korma as I was informed that they use a different recipe and add cream. No spice no flavour. They should inform customers prior to ordering that they make it differently compared to other places.

The best Indian food in West Dunbartonshire!

Was nice but I did go at a time it was empty and a an hour or so to closing but seems a pleasant ambient atmosphere. The food took a little longer that I expected as we were on our own and it was nothing that wow'd me at this time. I would try again another day at a busier time to give it another chance.

The menu is extensive and all the food is fresh tasting and appropriately spiced. Service was faultless, in fact my Daughter ordered the Jalfrezi and the waitress informed us that it would not be as spicy as our version down South so she offered to amend the dish slightly to suit our tastes... What an amazing touch... The decor is quirky and the atmosphere is unique. Never been to a curry house like it ... amazing.

They charged £55 for a meal for two. I thought it was steep but I didn't want to query it when I was with my brother. I added it up later and was overcharged by £20.

Large, open space, lots of nice bench seats by the windows. Great menu, lots of options, vegetarian and otherwise. We ordered a mixed selections and we're delighted with everything. The staff could not have been more helpful and were always on hand when we needed additional drinks or food. Great place, we'll definitely be back.

We arrived in Loch Lommond and fancied a curry. I searched and found the Bollywood. This curry house produced the best food ever! We were pleasantly surprised and would highly recommend.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was sitting not even a portion of pakora. The chasni was a delight, the rice was alright.The covid pandemic has scared me but this Indian made me feel better about life. The garlic naan reminded me to wear a mask because it was so strong but all in all absolutely tremendous scran.Peace out, strachers

Fantastic food made with a great deal of passion would highly recommend sitting in but take out would be just as good. Far superior to other local options and a good stop off on the way back from Loch Lomond, good value and easy parking accessibility make this our favourite Indian in the glasgow and clyde area.

Food was fantastic, decent sized portions which both myself and my partner couldn't finish. The Jheenga Maharaja was amazing, very tasty and prawns were massive. Service was faultless. Finished off with a wee Irish coffee which was made to perfection. Recently moved to Dumbarton and will definitely be back.

Fabulous Indian Restuarant in the centre of Dumbarton. Staff very friendly and good choice on the menu. The Chefs special tender lamb dish is a great choice, unique taste and well worth a try. Will definitely be back.

My wife and I went to the Bollywood Lounge tonight for their Thali menu. We’ve been a few times and always enjoy going back to try new dishes. We get to choose 3 dishes from a total of 5, which are served with rice and nan bread. Tonight I chose the South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken, Saag Aloo and Chicken Karahi. None of them disappointed! South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken is one of my 5 favourites from this restaurant and it was excellent! The Chicken Karahi was also really good as was the Saag Aloo. The other dishes were a Chicken Korma and a Tarka Dhal. My wife, who enjoys more subtle curries, likes the Thali menu as this gives her the opportunity to try out new dishes. The cost? Only £11.95 per person! An absolute bargain!! We’ll definitely be back!!

Ordered food at 18.30 phoned at 20.00 to check re food . Advices very busy and food would be cancelled due to my complaint. Phoned back back advised I had a house full of people waiting on food. Arrived at 21.00 . Food was good but not worth the hassle. First and last time ever ordering from them

I have visited this restaurant many times over the years and since it became the Bollywood Lounge our visits have been excellent every time. This most recent visit was a birthday celebration for my brother. The restaurant is clean and well laid out and the atmosphere is always cosy without feeling claustrophobic. Service was excellent and the food absolutely delicious as always. I would highly recommend visiting - food is amazing!

We live in Dumbarton but it took an hour a half for our curry to arrive. Very disappointed. Won’t be back.

Table was booked for 7.30 we arrived on time,was shown to our table with menus handed to us .came at ,8.00 to ask if we would like something to drink we ordered our starters and 1 hour later we received them and all we were told was the kitchen was busy

Stopped off in Dumbarton while travelling North - looked on Tripadvisor for an Indian restaurant and found Bollywood Lounge - really enjoyed the meal, and great service - all for an amazing price !

Restaurant was clean, food was excellent quality and large portions. Reasonable price considering volume and quality of food.
