The restaurant looks nice inside and the wine was lovely and the staff were friendly. These are the only compliments I can share. Where do I start, the bowl of knives and forks weren’t clean… the handles had dried on food caked into them. The table wasn’t clean. My plate also needed to be swapped due to a fresh hand smearing of what looked like this red sauce… The cheese board was served with thick cut brown bread with this tomato garlic sauce on top which was an odd accompaniment. The cheese was fine. The rosemary manchego had lovely flavour but seemed like it had been left out a while.. The octopus was so over cooked it was like chewing a tyre. Served with mash… strange and flavourless The lamb was soft but the sauce was not nice and lacked any depth of flavour… also served with the same bread as the cheese… strange Wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend All in all… this wasn’t really tapas, it wasn’t very tasty and it was dirty… looked fine but overall disappointing

The staff were unfriendly, no please or thank you. The food was average at best. Very overpriced. I wouldn’t go back, much better eateries in the vicinity.

My (verrrrrry foodie) pal and I came for a quick dinner before we went to comedy at the Bill Murray pub near by. We'd not been before and weren't sure what to expect and we were both VERY pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious and the staff delightful. Would 100% recommend and very much intend to go again. A thoroughly lovely evening.

Glad I didn’t listen to “HonestFoodieSussex”, this place is a gem. Wonderful ambience and the food was fantastic. Slim menu for a reason, everything we tried was great.

Don't waste your time!! - the manager and staff extremely rude, extremely long waits despite being a very small restaurant and food extremely greasy. Limited menu, you expect the chefs to be able to cook this - clearly not. Much better places in the area, to be honest the local kebab shops look more appetising.

Just stopped for a drink and a snack whilst logging on to my laptop for half an hour. Perfect for what I needed in lovely cool surroundings. Tortilla was great and all for only just over £10.

Best breakfast in Angel! We’ve also been in for dinner and they were super accommodating of our vegetarian dietary requirements. The food always comes in great portions and taste fresh and flavoursome. So nice to have truly authentic Spanish flavours in the area. Coffee is always brilliant, their iced coffee is fantastic. We always feel very welcomed and looked after. Amazing prices too.

Enjoyed brunch so much we returned the following day. Incredible value for money, verging on perfect dishes and the staff are humbly faultless. To whomever worked Sunday 29th, I believe I will never have scrambled eggs on par with what you made me. Sky highly recommended and thank you for two very hearty, delicious brunches and the warm service. X

This place is great! The staff are lovely - they let me have a small free sample slice of their vegan cake! Coffee was lovely and a great place to hang out with a friend for hours. Light jazz playing in the background. Really recommend this place

Amazing “pincho de tortilla” (piece of Spanish omelette) and “huevos al Plato”(baked eggs) for brunch, feeling like at home, great atmosphere, excellent customer service and lots of love put in every inch of the kitchen and in every plate. A group of us met up for an early lunch and had the most delicious brunch ranchero baked eggs and Iberico ham or chorizo with homemade sourdough and a really hot delicious coffee - absolutely fantastic beautifully cooked and presented and four plates scraped clean. This was the best restaurant I've ever been to. The special sweetbread with ice cream made from scratch, the rich Spanish omelette, the quality of the tomato, the cheese, Serrano ham, everything was the best I've ever tasted. Each bite better than the next! I've been to fancy restaurants around the world for my work - taking clients out to 'the best restaurant in town'. And this small intimate restaurant beats them all in terms of food quality. It's a very small location, and you are right next to the chef as he cooks. It's clear he loves what he does - and the menu is ridiculously good value for how good the food is. Smooth blues were playing in the background, we sat at the wooden bar and enjoyed iced coffees, beers, a variety of foods, and left absolutely stuffed. If I could, I'd eat here every day. Truly a hidden gem.

The truffle turkey was divine. The chef was incredibly friendly and truly talented. It is a bit off the beaten track. I will be going there for brunch soon.

……but can’t help telling everyone about. Simply delicious food. Truffle turkey toast or the lamb stew are my personal favourites!

A delightful cafe with generous and friendly service. It has lovely rustic feel offering a mouthwatering menu of breakfasts, tapas and delicious homemade cakes. There are always plenty of excellent vegetarian and vegan options are available. I highly recommend this cafe and will continue to return when I’m in the area

Delaterra - “from the land”. A cafe? Bar? Tapas restaurant? It’s all of them and more. It’s a labour of love by Ovidi, a charming Spaniard who not only makes everything in house, but even built the cosy interior himself. The service is warm and friendly, and the Spanish food and coffees are delicious. Heartily recommended.

Owner is lovely, the interior is so well done and has a great vibe. Really tasty Spanish food and great coffee. You can buy vegan cheeses to takeaway too. Always fresh bakes on the counter and a good menu for meat eaters and vegans.

A small and cozy place on Essex Road with delicious dishes and fresh juices. Every plate or drink is freshly prepared. I've fallen in love with the quail's eggs on black pudding. At last but not least amazing staff and right prices.

We went to delaterra for a quick brunch, and the baked eggs with chorizo were excellent. It could be seen everything was homemade and good quality. Great homemade bread. We also tried the smoked Serrano ham and the cheeses, I'll definitely go and buy more.

I came for the Food & the Coffee, stayed for the Sangria. The owner is clearly passionate about good homemade food and good quality produce. Enjoyed killing a few hours in the chilled atmosphere.

Delaterra is an excellent place for a mid-morning coffee with one of the fantastic toasts. I like the place very much and the owner is so nice you feel like at home. Totally recommend this cafe.
