Urban Social Coffee in Islington

This is the most delicious and nutritious breakfast in Islington. It was the best consistency hummus with dry tomato I've ever eaten, spicy sausage lovers should definitely try the Mediterranean plate. I would also like to thank the staff for the wonderful service with a smile.

The atmosphere was great, the coffee was delicious, and the brunch looked very good, the staff was very nice, especially Cristina, very nice to us!!!

We visited Urban Social with my friends. I ordered Mushrooms on toast. ıt was the most delicious mushrom on toast I have ever tasted. Highly recomended! Thank you Urban Social for this peaceful and delicious Sunday.

Really high quality breakfast, the full English and breakfast burrito are excellent. It’s hard to find a good breakfast burrito in London and this one does it well by any standard. Coffees are also well made. Quick service and friendly staff.

We love this place! It’s our go to to have a meal, bring a book, and sometimes play backgammon. The food never disappoints and the service is top tier!

Wow! What an incredible brunch and lovely interior. Friendly staff and wonderful owner. Rustic benches and a huge tardis at the back with plenty of seating and tables. Mixed crowd from mums with babies, freelance workers and friends meeting up. Great selection of food from classic English breakfast, Turkish options, lovely sandwiches, croissants, pasties. Huge variety of drinks including smoothies. Highly recommend.

We came on a Friday morning and there weren't many people inside. The atmosphere wasn't very nice, the baristas weren't friendly and didn't really talk to the customers. In short, it was unpleasant when we had to wait a long time for our coffee while the two baristas were whispering in another language. The coffee tasted terrible and they mixed up the hash order (why did I pay for oat milk)? I don't recommend visiting, I won't go back there again.

The place was very cozy and calm and we immediately felt at home. The lovely young lady (Simi) who served us was polite, patient and happy to help. She made us feel very comfortable. Thank you Simi!

Spectacular breakfast burrito. Have genuinely been thinking about the hot sauce here since the moment I tasted it. Service was a tad on the slow side for food, but coffees arrived very shortly after being ordered.

Maybe his coffee is good but we will never know since the service is so bad that we waited for 20 minutes and nobody paid any attention to us.

Waited 45 minutes for food then the staff realised they hadn’t even sent our order to the kitchen. Had asked them twice about the order but all said their other colleagues were sorting it.

Cool. I really enjoy this place. From the interior to the service to the food. I had one of the largest Full English lessons here, and overall the offer is varied and high-quality. It is also a nice place where you can sit down with your laptop and work. There are sockets and WiFi. Definitely my go-to place when I'm in the area. I also like that they have a discount for firefighters, teachers, etc. Urban Social is a good choice.

Came up from Cornwall for a gig in Islington last month, and knew I had to stop here for breakfast. Cafe was really busy, as to be expected on a hot summer day, but I snagged a seat in the back. Everything was excellent. The coffee was great, and the breakfast burrito was by far the best I've ever eaten. Will definitely be making the grip to islington again any time I'm in London just for that burrito. Cannot recommend enough!

Lovely cafe serving delicious brunch. I ordered the ham and cheese toastie. The sourdough is very good. Orders are to be placed at the counter.

Definitely does not deserve to be in the top 10 cafes in London, I have tried some of the best cafes in London and Urban Social is definitely not one of them, the food is only bang average in my opinion to be honest. The coffee is ok but nothing more than OK hence why the bad review because because I was honestly looking forward to it

Taste of coffee was amazing. People who works there are full of passion. So glad I found this place will be back there for sure.

As a regular I must say their coffee is always good. The baristas are highly skilled and their house roaster Allpress is quality specialty. Guest coffee changing every month, thats nice:) I can see they got most of the attention in Islington.

Urban Social is best coffee house in Islington. Their guest coffee concept is unique and makes us try different roasters. Their new menu is very popular and highly recommend. It’s obvious their competitors are jealous for their success.

Fantastic coffee - best I've had in Islington! Also, try their breakfast burrito. It was pretty much everything I needed this afternoon.

This was a phenomenal English breakfast. My cappuccino was made well too. The back courtyard has such a lovely mellow ambience. Great customer service too.

Previous review: Good pastries, average coffee Well done on improving the coffee (allpress now is pretty decent). However, this is undone by the ‘new’ food menu. 15 quid for a chicken burger that looks and tastes worse than a McChicken sandwich and some half cooked chips is insane. Terrible, will never come again for food.

Had the Mediterranean breakfast - was really disappointing- everything seemed re-heated - the fried egg was solid and definitely re-heated, the sausage so hard I could barely cut it and the hallomi was luke warm and hard. This is one of my favourite coffee shops in all of London. I come here all the time and it’s fab - lovely coffee and great food too. I highly recommend the mushrooms on toast - super yummy! The cafe has been renovated recently to add a garden type room with a skylight - very pretty!

It was really delicious! I had breakfast Burrito and my friend had avocado on toast. Also I have drunk ice matcha latte with oat milk. It was amazing you should try this. Absolutely, I will come back.

One of the few places where you can eat a nicely presented English Breakfast. In most restaurants it looks very messy, but here everything is presented very nicely on the plate. And also very tasty. I recommend ordering at the counter, not via QR code, because the website tries hard to add a "voluntary" service fee that cannot be waived. But when ordered at the counter, there is no service fee.

The gorgeous spot in Highbury. We went there with friends to have a brunch, the burrito was really worth to try. The atmosphere also so modern and nice, staff are so friendly too! Great place!!!

Our breakfast in Urban Social was great. We went a bit early as they don’t accept booking and ordered trafitional English and food came quick, it was big and delicious. It is our usual weekend thing visiting them when we visit Upper Street, we will be back…

Solid breakfast wrap - a little pricey and salsa not amazing but good stuff in general

I recently discovered this cafe when I started working on Upper Street. It's a hidden gem with a charming back area. I've tried the matcha and scrambled eggs so far and both were delicious. I'm looking forward to trying more things! thank you!

What a great place to start the day! The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful. If you want to enjoy a good Breakfast you have to go there for that! We'll definitely see you again.

Nice cafe but I had to download an app to order - as such, I opted not to leave a tip but the app still charged me a 12.5% service charge. Won't be returning because of this.

We eat out constantly and have breakfast out 2-3 times a week, nice young staff BUT… cold (freezing) poached eggs, very under done, bread was not toasted, it was just bread !! Freezing avocado and cold coffee 😩 Not sure what is going on but it could not have been worse if they tried !! What is going on chef ?? Hangover? Lost the plot ?!! Have had to rush home to the bathroom and explode, I just hope not food poising, not sure what happened, but serving this can not be good for our health 😩

We came in with high hopes but unfortunately left disappointed. We waited over an hour for 2 x English breakfast and had to alert the waiter after we observed customers who had ordered similar meals after us getting thier meals before us. When the food finally arrived, it was stone cold. We alerted the waiter to this and were informed that the food had only just come out, which I find hard to believe given the temperature of the food. In any case, she apologised and we were advised that the food would be warmed up. This took a further 10 minutes and again the food came out stone cold. We were given a complimentary dessert for the waiting but it really did not make up for the long waiting times and the food coming out cold which I could not finish. Such a shame.

Compliments and special thanks to the Chef for the delicious brunch prepared nicely placed in the plates. I really enjoyed also for the great service and for the lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend and me and my friend just want say thank you: we spent a good time! A e S 04/13/2024

The best cafe we found around Highbury & Islington, maybe on the whole Upper Street. Coffee is amazing, Avocado on Toast is exceptional (just some chilli flakes sprinkle would make it even better tho 😚). The sitting area at the back is super cool.

I’m a regular here and they have a Nice new extension at the back. The food is very tasty I recommend the Shakshuka and the avocado toast (served with delicious addition of feta and dill). Tried almost Every dish and haven’t been disappointed by anything. dream team of talkative and friendly staff too

My friend and I had a fantastic brunch experience at Urban Social Coffee! The salmon socials were absolutely delicious, perfectly complemented by the rich and smooth Americanos. The ambiance was cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a five-star spot for brunch in town!

Living in Angel and commuting from H&I station I usually love picking up a morning coffee from this place. Instead today I ordered the pastrami toastie for £9 and waiting for a decent time (assuming home made) for it. The meat was tough as old boots, rock hard and refused to tear, felt like I needed to have caveman incisors to get through that. I took out the rubbery, cheap bacon style meat, and tried to eat round it but gave up as then it was literally a grease sandwich. Pretty grim experience and disappointing given past orders, price of toastie and length of time waiting. Might be worth double checking the supplier.

My brunch experience was great! I had the truffle egg mushroom croissant and it was mouthwatering. Quite a big portion so a really good choice if you‘re hungry and in need of some proteins. Only minus was that the truffle flavour could have been stronger but it was overall so good that it was neglectable. The service was friendly and good but given that you order the food via QR code, the human aspect of the experience is a little lost. But I loved the atmosphere, a very cozy vibe, great for a Sunday brunch!

Very cozy place. Come here almost everyday for my daily dose of caffeine. The coffee and danishes are great. The staff are friendly even when it gets really busy, and the service is real fast.

Matcha oat latte is from the heavens itself, I got two! The ambiance and vibes were exactly what you'd expect from the cover, indoor plants, mismatched furniture, a warm laid back cafe. Looking forward to going there often.
