Deja Vu Garden in Waltham Forest

My daughter has just moved to Walthamstow so we were looking for nice restaurants in the area. We were the only customers in here I think the decor was beautiful and all looked very clean but sadly the waiter was very unaccommodating. We ordered chicken Shish which came with rice and salad , I asked if I could just change the rice for fries as I’m not keen on rice and it was a straight forward no I asked why but he just said no your not allowed. When the meal arrived my salad was brown where it was old or out of date I couldn’t be bothered to complain because I knew I wouldn’t get any joy anyway as they were just most unhelpful and was not prepared to give the customer what they required. I have never been to a restaurant before when I’ve not been able to swaps or take something out even if I had to pay extra I wouldn’t of minded that . I also asked for a lemonade but said I could only have it in a mock tail . It was all very bizarre but at least it’s one she can cross off her list and not recommend to anyone else. Come on it’s a restaurant be more accommodating to the customer.

My daughter's favourite place to eat is DejaVu Garden. Today we had the pleasure to be attended by Gerry. She is lovely,pleasant, professional and very helpful. I have to admit is the first time I appreciated a staff member here. The food was tasty as usual. I kind of miss the cheese pané with ceddar. This one was soft cheese triangle. Also the amazing Greek salad and a nice non-alcoholic cocktail Clever Girl. The new Deja Vu Garden opened post covid-19 is amazing, clean and nice decorated and comfortable. I recommend this place for a nice East European experience.

We had a late lunch here on Saturday. The food was ok and we would return. The service could be improved by the waiter checking up on you. We had to get up to order extras and again to ask for the bill. One of the dishes came 10 minutes after the others. There was a little bit of a language barrier with our server. All in all, worth a second visit.

The Menu is very poor. We couldn’t really choose anything that we want to eat about 20 mins then we decide to eat mix meat with potatoes, salad, sauce, chicken licornflakes chicken hearts. The meat smells very bad, the taste was terrible like i am eating meat that is very old, i never ate chicken hearts with such a bad flavour! Nobody from my friends likes the food, it was very bad!!! In the end they tricked us with the bill. We said we want to separate our payment. They put more money on the advice and then they wanted even more cash as they said the Shisha is separate :O they saw that we drank wine and we was in a good mood and they decide this is the best moment to trick us and take as much money as they can! In the restaurant there was even one waiter who name is Emil as i remember, he was working in another Bulgarian restaurant before a month, and he lied my friends and me with the bill in this restaurant and put more money in the bill as well! Maybe that’s why they get rid of him because he is stealing customers money. And here we go- he is now in Deja vu Garden! Please people, be careful and never go to this place! It is better to go to the most expensive restaurant in the centre and drink and eat there- the service will be so much better the food as well and for sure the bill will be less then in this disgusting restaurant! Definitely me and my friends will never go again!

At last, this friendly restaurant has reopened after its Covid shutdown. They've moved the kitchen and created a bright spacious indoor dining area. Food and service as lovely as ever.

The food was bad. The personnel’s attitude is horrible. They lie about the eat out to help out scheme. We were supposed to get 50% discount; instead we got only -£2. Other people got more than 50%. The manager was shouting at us for asking why we are charged like this.

If you want to eat proper eastern europe food you will find the right place here . I recomand the grills and soups .

We went.there two times,for lunch and dinner, and both times I was with my Bulgarian friends and boyfriend. Food is nice,portions are quite large and the staff is really friendly. Also if the walls are decorated with Italian landscapes and views, you can really have a nice taste of Bulgarian cuisine

Stuff is very rude and don’t even understand English properly , I like the food and the place but this waitress and the girl with the black hair always making mistakes and bringing us the wrong food and if you complain she just tells you bye instead of saying sorry . Miserable, shame on them

This place reminds me of my hometown (as you may guess – I'm Bulgarian). It's noisy and you get delicious food at a decent price! I'd recommend this place x100! It's probably the best Bulgarian restaurant in London!

The waiter whit black hair is so rude experience whit the guest zero the restaurant is not bad the food is good but I don’t like to see rude waiter service

My wife and I and daughter popped into Deja Vu Garden quite late on Saturday evening. The garden area at the rear was full so we accepted a table just inside the main building. The waitress brought us drinks while we examined the menu of Bulgarian fare. We chose different items and all were perfectly acceptable. My lamb chops were a bit fatty but tasty nevertheless. We felt welcome here although the vast majority of the clientele was Bulgarian and the menu typically carnivorous.

I went with my boyfriend and his friend the other day. They waiter was so lazy and unpleasant that I can’t even describe. We ordered drinks and food. We were told there is no boiled potatoes and when the third person was giving his drinks order, he was told “please don’t tell me you want water as well maaan”. He spilled a bit of the orange juice on his tray and said “oh, I spilled the bonus that the bartender put in your glass”... Umm, say again?! He did not clean at all. My boyfriend’s coffee spoon was full of juice and this guy shook his hand on top of me as it was wet and got me dirty as well. Everything was in juice and no attempt to clean up his mess or apologise for that matter. At the end, when he brought the bill, he asked if we want to pay exactly this amount. What an attitude and arrogance?! I didn’t want to pay at all if I’m being honest. His name was Vasil. I would absolutely not recommend to anyone to step in this establishment. Sooo disappointing!!!

Waiter by the name Vasil is the worst thing that happened to hospitality ever. Did not say hello,did not offer menus,did not say thank you , did not check back on food.Awful disgraceful . Gives Bulgarians a bad name. Va silv grow up mate

Went to this place with my family and what a mistake! First the terrible rude waitress ask me "what do you want to drink?" I ignored the rudeness because I could see her English was terribly poor, so she brought us the drinks (beer and sift drink) hot ,without glasses to drink, it was lunch time,I has a child with me and she never brought us a menu, I have asked for glasses and ice and I high chair with took her ages to bring up a dirt glass with one,yes one ice cube and a broken high chair,so I just wanted to leave, then she came out dancing as she was in her own house and I asked to pay,she brought me the wrong bill then I decided to go in to complain and pay my bill and she started to speak with a guy behind the bar as she didn't like I was complaining, in Her own language as I wasn't there! This place is a shame and should have the doors shut.

The food is very tasty and the service was very good. The waiter was extremely helpful with recommendations for my daughter who is vegan. The portions are generous and I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try something a bit different.

Amazon food and good atmosphere! Unfortunately the service is terrible. The girl serving us was incredible rude, lazy and unhelpful. She made mistake with our order and after waiting more then 45 min to get the food we ordered she didn't even appologise. Later on...

Especially the back garden it is lime you are on holiday. Away from the busy Market. Prices acceptable.

That is my first visit in the restaurant and the food was really amazing, but when everybody around you is smoking cigarettes is very hard to enjoy your dinner. I can't explain myself how is that possible. Just horrible. The garden was full with children...

I've never had Bulgarian food but this was amazing. The salad was gorgeous and the grilled chicken lovely. The garden at the back is lovely. Highly recommended.

Very well decorated welcoming restaurant, very polite and friendly staff, food was of good standard, service was fast and well presented, lots of variety to choose even had a good kids menu, the garden was made very rustic which was great, lots of grape trees...

I just had the most amazing meal in Deja Vu steak house on the High street. The best steaks we've had in a long time, and it's really hard to get decent steak in the 'stow. The outside area is so warm with heaters and...

That is the most amazing place to dine in Walthamstow.Great food and outstanding atmosphere.Delicious food and friendly staff.What more someone can dream off.Go and visit.Is definitely worth it
