Deep blue sea buffet in Brighton and Hove

2 of the people I was with have gotten bad food poisoning because of the food and are now bed ridden. Won't be coming back here again.

Called now "bon appetit" if not mistaken. Changed hands. Poor food with grumpy owner/cashier. No deserts! Limited and basic choices. Will not go back there. Not cheap, either.

The food is average, the pizza is ok

Food was good but not a lot of choices. Limited drink choices. Rice, noodles , sweat and sour chicken , chicken curry, pizza. With very small salad and fruit bar

I would like to review this restaurant.. it should help both the customer and the owner to know About the restaurant… Owner is very warm welcoming and friendly Staff are very cool and polite Hotel environment:is doesn’t suit and not at all attractive and welcoming.. It looks so old and just like a school Finally the food is really bad and not at all tasty and completely dried rice They reduce the no of items and especially for that price £ 12.99 they are very less items and more expensive than what they provide So either they need to change the menu to get more customers and the interior should definitely change to get more customers

Vile food. AVOID AT ALL COST. What was advertised on the website and the offering available is nothing short of a con. The food was tasteless, cold, stale and a total waste of money. I struggled to eat here and had to make a quick exit. The worst buffet ever visited.

The 2 stars were only given for the lovely owner/waiter…. So the website shows lots of fresh lobster, crabs, tiger prawns etc but the reality is NONE of that is available. It must have new owners now. They serve Just noodles, different rices, sweet n sour chicken and other bland sloppy, Luke warm dishes. £10.99 a person is cheap but it’s literally not worth the time. The whole place/menu needs an over haul. With so many beautiful places to eat in Brighton, I can’t see this one staying open very long with the current owner. Shame as he is such a friendly nice guy :(

the meal was really lovely above standard for a buffet and they had a wide range of meal and fruits but wat was most impressive was Aston the manager he was superb amd friendly . I would totally recommend

honestly the best customer service i've had in brighton. who i presume is the owner is the friendliest man ever and clearly is very grateful for every customer that walks in. the food was a great price (£7.99 for a student) and was simple but classic. as someone who just wanted a reliable lunch i couldn't recommend this place more

Pretty poor to be honest the decoration feels like I'm back in school, the food doesn't seem to be fresh, not much variety. Drinks very expensive. However the owner was very friendly.

literally amazing! as a uni student, the student price is so affordable and perfect. we always come here! the owner is so welcoming and lovely we have never had a bad experience. definitely go!!

Been wanting to go here for a while ....don't know why?? buy it was really awful. Not much choice to choose from and tasteless. The fish was ok had one peice as it was the last one. But it didn't get refilled while I was there ........just read it has one star hygiene rating. Wish I had read reviews before I went .........don't waste your money .

Food was delicious and owners were very kind to us. Though the same price other restaurants have only one menu, but various menus were in this restaurant. Im very satisfy.

Food was good but the plates were not warmed up which would have been better.

Believe me - I have very low standards for a buffet.... But this place? There's a reason they charge up front. All of the dozen or so dishes taste/look like they've gone round other local Chinese restaurants the night before and collected all their leftovers, then warmed them up in a microwave then left them out at room temperature all day for unsuspecting customers. Couldn't manage more than half a plate before walking out, everything I tried was barely lukewarm, tasteless and greasy. Horrible waste of £13. Definitely one to avoid.

Tables dirty and sticky, glasses filthy with detergent residue (I drank from the can).. Food choice on buffet very poor, a couple of rice and noodle dishes that were luke warm and looked that they had been sitting there for hours,salad options non existent dessert choice just marshmallows and a chocolate fountain, or Asda Savers brand ice cream that you scooped out the tub in freezer. Service was non existent just a couple of teenagers standing around looking bored....we were originally planning a 2nd visit to try their seafood menu but based on this experience and the fact that one person in my party threw up some time afterwards I think we will give it a miss

First time here. Staff were welcoming and friendly as soon as you come through the door. Admittedly not much choice in food..... however what we did have was beautiful. Dumplings I've never had before were amazing. Average priced. Will be coming back again.

first thing i will say is the waiter was very friendly , but the food was the worst food i have ever had from a buffet restaurant. little choice , very stale food which i suspect was left overs from the night before. We went there before the change of ownership and its was good but this place now is nothing like it . I also don't like paying a service charge in a self service restaurant . worst £41 i ever spent .

What an Incredible Buffet, Me and my friend had the pleasure of visiting here yesterday, The food was to a very High standard, The owner had hand picked some classic dishes from all the continents of the world 🌎 The Italian Pizza was 5* We were also very fond of some of the Cantonese classics dishes like the Siu Mai dumplings as well as the fish. There were also some traditional indian dishes for good measure too, The service by the owner and his staff were also exemplary they were incredibly polite and attentive. If there is one restaurant you visit in Brighton make sure its this one.

There’s absolutely no choice apart from a few buckets of festering slop sat in the window. Cold, greasy and tasteless. Food looks like warmed up Chinese from the night before. No hygiene rating on display.

Not good at all .... the standard of food was very poor on the buffet and definitely gone down a lot since it changed hands. Far fewer choices than before & didn't taste freshly cooked ... even the prawn crackers were stale. The salad bar was just chopped carrots etc nothing exciting & the soup was awful. The only improvement to previous visits was the choice of puds ... chocolate fountain & ice cream which was fine. The wine was very expensive & a 10% service charge ... to serve yourself ... was not a welcome addition to a very disappointing lunch!!

Unfortunately deep blue sea buffet was a big disappointment. There was like 5 different dishes to choose in between, some of them were old/dry, pizza was a hard rack.

Good place to relax and buffet with various choices. The desserts are delicious, don't miss.

Staff were friendly and attentive and the food was tasty. My only complaints are that the decor leaves a lot to be desired. It kind of feels like you're eating in a NHS waiting room. The menu and pricing needs to be clearer, it's currently £27 for all you can eat which is fair considering there's lobster, crab, clams and fish etc and There is also a Japanese bbq cooked to order but there was no indication if that was included in the price. I was informed drinks were included but I wasn't 100% sure as the waiter was a little unclear. Seafood can be a fiddly and messy business when it comes to eating so providing a bowl of water to wash your fingers and a lot of napkins also would be a nice addition. The Japanese bbq chef (maybe owner) was incredibly friendly. 3 out of 5 stars seems fair for now, I imagine it will get better as they take on more customer suggestions.
