We came to try the bar for the first time, and were met in the entrance area by the rudest doorman I think I’ve ever met. My husband is hard of hearing and didn’t hear him speak to him- so as a result of him thinking he was being ignored he stared at him with his head tipped to one side in a really odd way. He then shook his head behind us as we asked the girl about the bar. Following this he mumbled something about not being allowed in wearing a hoody. We left. I then popped back literally 2 seconds later to tell him my husband was deaf and that’s why he didn’t answer him, and he said who are you anyway, and asked if I was trying to intimidate him!!!! No recognition of the mistake he had made…..no follow up conversation to clear the air. Just a very very strange rude man who I wouldn’t imagine is the best person for your front of house to the public. I’m sure the actual place is great- it looks it- but he’s enough to put anyone off going in!

I dined at Decimo, located on the 10th floor of The Standard Hotel, London, for dinner. The restaurant serves a mix of Mexican and Spanish cuisine. I had visited once before for lunch when they first opened, so it was nice to return for dinner with friends. The atmosphere and interior are truly iconic! You can tell no expense was spared in the details and layers of design. Just stunning! The hotel itself and other venues have a mid-century, 70s aesthetic, and Decimo follows suit but with more Mexican-inspired elements. The restaurant offers 360-degree views of London, but my favorite view is actually from the bathroom! The food was absolutely delicious, but the portions were so tiny that at one point, I couldn’t believe the size of my 1 portion tostadas! 😅 For the level of sophistication and the price point, it pains me to say this, but the service was disappointing. We ordered a LOT from the menu, but when the food arrived, nothing was explained. Three of our starters never came, and we had to repeat our orders and chase for our drinks. That said, the company was great, and we still had a fun night!

The vibe is stylish but fun, and dishes like the Iberico pork and Gambas Rojas are definitely worth trying. The only downside is that the service isn’t always as attentive as it could be, but overall, it’s a great spot for good food and a great view.

Just had an absolutely stunning evening for my friends birthday. We were greeted with warmth at the desk and Hannah H really couldn’t do enough for us. Food was 10/10, completely faultless. Recommended dishes: lamb, tuna tostada, red pepper dip, bread and olive oil, guac, cabbage, Caesar salad. Thank you so much Hannah H for your amazing hospitality and service - you were outstanding, and an asset to Decimo 😊

For a slow night the service was terrible and the food mediocre at best . The turbot was a tail piece and over cooked , for the price . The truffle nachos were a like warm to cold cheese sauce with truffles that were already on the tail end of their life and had little to no taste or aroma . The pork chop was good cooked perfectly but it needed something with it , not just a piece of meat on a plate . The Patas Brava was good as well. The desserts were a disappointment as well. 450 dollars for dinner for two with only 3 glasses of wine is really poor value

Ellie!!! Gave us tremendous recommendations omg. We took all of them and we were glad that we did. So very warm! And informative! At the end of the night I wanted honey tequila, which they didn’t have, but she got creative by adding honey to a double of tequila and it was great LOL. Would definitely come back!

My family took me here for my birthday yesterday and we all had the most fantastic time, the restaurant itself is beautiful with amazing music but the staff made then night really amazing, in particular Ellie our waitress! She was so helpful suggesting all the best food and was just so nice and friendly to us, so thank you Ellie and thank you thandie for putting us in her area!!! Great food, let down by slow, poor service. Waited over 20mins from being seated before anyone came to take our drinks/food order(only a table of 2) Arrived around 19:45. Didn’t end up getting our mains till 21:53 When the food arrived it was very tasty, this wasn’t our first visit so knew what we liked. Unfortunately will potentially look around for next time if the service remains to be so poor. Hopefully just a blip in the service but didn’t seem overly busy for a restaurant of this calibre. We had to wait to drop and collect our coats. Just felt a little bit more attention was required by the staff to ensure the evening warranted the price tag.

Wow! What can I say except – what a transformation! From beginning to end, our second experience of Decimo blew us both out of the water. I have to say, we weren't particularly impressed the first time round, but after speaking with the management team, and discussing what 'we felt' went wrong, we agreed to try again. From arriving and being seated, to our meal, service and even the vibe of the place; it felt like we were in a completely different establishment. We were greeted at the reception, and was warmly welcomed by a lady who showed us to our table. Here we were then met by the most wonderful host – Ludwig (apologies to him if this is spelt incorrectly). Well, what an absolute asset to you that man is. He was so much fun, as well as clearly knowledgeable about his product; always professional, happy to recommend, and an overall bundle of joy. He says he has been working at Decimo for over 2 years, and he is just fabulous!! I was looking around, and not only was Ludwig treating everyone in his area the same as us; so were the other floor staff within the rest of the restaurant. Onto the food. Again, wow. Based on what we had the last time, I think we ordered slightly too much. The portions were larger than expected, and the quality outstanding. We ordered two portions of bread as the first time there wasn’t very much of it, however this time we probably had enough for four (clearly only needed to order one). We had the peppers, yummy, and the little sausages (not for me, as I don’t like their casing – but Jim enjoyed). Jim says the lamb is the best he has ever tasted; (I stole some – it was very very nice indeed); I had the scallops which were as good as any I have had. The tomatoes were lush – the potatoes were good. The cabbage was incredible, and Jim says the sweet potato was amazing. The desert we opted for was the milky one with rum – DELICIOUS!! The vibe of the place this time was better also. Whilst we enjoyed that part of the experience the last time – this time superseded it. The music was just the right amount of loud for us. Giving us a Caribbean/holiday feel, whilst still able to hear each other clearly, but not being bothered by other tables. We enjoyed being there that much we stayed much longer than anticipated, changing what we had initially planned for the latter part of the evening so we could stick around. Jim loved it that much he 'happily' paid the 20% service charge on what we had as he said – this was one of the best meals and certainly some of the best service we have received. I think we left about 10.30pm (we aimed to be out at 7.30 - but as I said, didn't feel we wanted or were expected to leave), the place was still full, vibrant, happy and everyone looked as if they were enjoying themselves. We also treated ourselves to a couple of Rum and Ginger beers after our meal, and was not at all felt rushed to leave. We were informed if the table was needed, we would be asked to move to the bar - but of course! Why wouldn't we? As it was, we weren't asked to move. As it stands – we are already telling everyone how amazing our experience at Decimo was . Is it cheap? God no!!! But you are worth every penny, and that we absolutely will return. Please pass on our thanks to everyone who looked after us that evening, from the reception, floor staff, chefs, bar and waiters, and especially to the wonderful Ludwig.

Extremely disappointing experience. I took a friend there as a celebration for her upcoming wedding. We placed our orders, asked for water and the first surprise- they don’t leave a bottle of water for the table, unless you pay for still water. Every time we wanted water, we had to ask someone to serve it. The issue is that service was super slow, so we basically had to try to get hold of someone whenever we could. Starters arrived, we ate it (super small portions). Mains took 40 minutes to be served, and they served half of the order wrong. Instead of apologising, we were asked “well, do you want to keep it? We are having issues with the gas in the kitchen.” we then asked if they could check how long it would take for the correct order to be served - the waitress then proceeds to take the wrong order with her (without knowing if we would want to keep it). She comes back saying “sorry, it will take a long time.” And then places the plate back on the table. We eat it because that’s what we could get without waiting for another 40 minutes. One of us wanted a dessert- no staff around to collect our plates and give us the menu. After around another 25 minutes, they come round and we asked for the bill as we couldn’t be bothered to wait any longer. I didn’t want to make a fuss in front of my friend as it was meant to be a celebration, so I left feeling like it really spoiled what was meant to be a special evening.

I wish I read all the negative opinions before I booked. I was tempted by tik toks telling how amazing this place is which isn’t true. I came in on my own as on business trip, first impression, the gentleman downstairs very welcoming, then the famous lift with view - out of order! - lady at the reception took my stuff was very helpful and nice. I arrived 30 min prior to my booking 4.30pm, I was let to sit in the bar area, got a drink, and so far was pleased but then.. I was completely forgotten! My booking was at 5.00pm, i waited till 5.20pm and nothing! I saw people who just arrived are seated at tables but not me, finally I found a lady who was passing by as noone else did so far. I asked is my table ready as I am waiting here almost an hour, she came back quicky and said yes her colleague will come to take me to my table. 10 more minutes I had to wait and more and more people arriving and being seated. Finally the lady cane to grab me at 5.35pm! Not even sorry for waiting, i had water and drink with me, she offered help byt I already grabbed my drinks, in other restaurants they just arrive with plate or tell you to go and take your drinks for you. At this point I was so annoyed with the wait that it ruined by being ignored. I felt wery odd and unwelcome just because I was on my own. All the couples and groups were treated differently. I was the last one to place order as I was just forgotten. The food arrived quickly but I must say they are overpriced, I expected more for the price. £24 tuna ceviche with not much taste. £9 for one tiny taco! I expected it to be at least two. I was starving and tired and had no time to go somewhere else, but I wish I had finished after drink and left. I paid £74 and left unhappy. The service at tgis cost should be dofferent. Of course staff was nice but that’s it. I felt better at take away chinese. Do not come, certainly if you are on your own. I tested it as wanted to bring my bf here for a date and spend more, but defo not coming back.

A really disappointing visit. This restaurant failed pretty hard. Nice servers, that were too often inefficient (20 min wait to pay after being brought the bill) and really overpriced sub standard food. It’s a small menu, but the majority of plates were over seasoned or arrived too cold. Not at all what you’d expect from a Michelin star chef. Do yourself a favour and choose from a high street tapas or Mexican restaurant in London, you’ll get better value and flavour.

We had an unforgettable Christmas Day dinner a few weeks back. We loved the entire experience, the staff were attentive to our requests upon booking & we had an absolutely delicious special Christmas menu (it was honestly one of the best meals we had in London). Very bad service. For New Year's Eve, book for 8:30 p.m. They called me a few weeks later telling me that it had to be at 9:45 p.m. with a menu, fixed price (approximately €180pp) and payment in advance. When I arrived on the 31st from Barcelona, they told me that the reservation was at 8:30 p.m. It's not until I show them the confirmation they sent me that they let me in at the reception. At the door of the restaurant, the same thing again. In the end they let us in but it took them more than 40 minutes to give us a table without any type of explanation or compensation. As for the food, it was not bad, but they served us very slowly and 2 dishes and desserts were left undelivered. I understand that a New Year's Eve night can be complicated, but when you pay that money you expect a minimum, that at least they don't make fun of you. During the time we waited, many other couples who had arrived later entered. They didn't give us any explanations about the missing dishes after more than 30 minutes of waiting.

I booked Decimo for my girlfriend's birthday. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Great atmosphere, excellent views, there was love music playing with just the right vibe and volume, the decor was lovely. All the food was spectacular and our server, Ellie was superb. She went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our experience. Very happy to strongly recommend Decimo.

Here's a 3-star review for Decimo in Kings Cross: "Stunning Views, Lackluster Experience" Decimo boasts incredible views and a truly captivating atmosphere. The setting is undeniably impressive. However, our dining experience fell short. The steaks we ordered were unfortunately disappointing. They lacked flavor and were not cooked to our preference. Furthermore, we discovered multiple mistakes and unauthorized charges on our bill after leaving. This was a frustrating oversight and left a sour note on an otherwise promising evening. While the ambiance is exceptional, I would advise diners to carefully review their bill before paying and perhaps temper expectations regarding the quality of the food.

Last Friday, December 13th, I phoned the reservations' team to arrange a dinner at the Isla. The lady on the phone was courteous and informative, assisting with our post-dinner plans to visit the top for drinks. Although Sweeties bar was unavailable due to a private event, we were advised that we could head to The Decimo as walk-ins. Following a delightful dinner at the Isla, we approached The Decimo's entrance, only to encounter a stark contrast in hospitality. The hostess there seemed unaware that Sweeties was the location of the private event, not The Decimo, and firmly denied us entry. Despite the initial refusal, driven by a desire to share The Decimo's impressive views with my friend, I persisted. After a prolonged 20-minute discussion, explaining that I only wanted to show my friend the views and would not stay, as entry had been initially denied and only after requesting to speak with a manager, her stance softened and we were reluctantly allowed to proceed, escorted by security. Upon arrival upstairs, we discovered the venue was comfortably occupied with room for additional guests, contradicting the earlier assertion of being fully booked. Muca, the hostess at The Decimo, welcomed us to stay for drinks. However, the experience had already been marred by the previous encounter, prompting us to leave. Muca apologised profusely and encouraged us to stay, but it was too late to salvage the evening. As we left, we encountered the initial hostess again in the lift and informed her of the ample space available and that we had been invited to stay. She responded with a dismissive shake of her head, further exemplifying her unwelcoming behaviour. This incident highlights a significant disconnect in customer service. While Muca tried to amend the situation, the initial hostess's rigid adherence to an unreasonable and harmful policy for the business but above all her dismissive attitude soured our experience. In today's challenging business environment for restaurants, such unaccommodating behaviour is detrimental. It is crucial for staff, especially those in customer-facing roles, to be well-trained, communicative and capable of resolving issues favourably for their employer. Unfortunately, this was not the case here and it ultimately led to a disappointing conclusion to our night.

Unwelcoming and uncaring staff. After arriving for my partners birthday, we found a quiet comfy corner… within 5 minutes we were moved to a cramped uncomfortable busy area by the bar as were not allowed to sit here despite this area being totally open and not booked for hours. they said we have found a “cozy corner for you” by the bar, after arriving this was clearly not the case! our drink orders never turned up after 30 minutes of waiting, the staff didn’t acknowledge this, we decided to leave to go to the bar downstairs and again, multiple staff were rude to us upon leaving. Every opportunity the staff had to make us welcome they didn’t take and we felt like intruders rather than guests. Very disappointed in Décimo, it’s all style and no substance.

Oh Decimo!! We had such high hopes. Saw you glowing from afar, atop The Standard, in the rain. Read the reviews and counted down. Can honestly say we haven’t seen such disparity between the presentation of a restaurant and the absolutely miserable experience in a long long time in London. Starting with 20 minute delay to seat us after our reservation. No offer to sit at a bar. Lots of chaos at the front. Once sat, it then took another 20 minutes to catch a waiter’s eye. This waiter in question was just standing looking back. That resulted in a drink order. No water offered. 20 more minutes passed. We’re now 1 hour into our time… no drinks arrived, no water, no food order taken. I saw someone that looked like she was organizing the crew that night. I approached her and indicated I thought maybe our table fell through the cracks. She was responsive and lovely (as she was the next two times I spoke to her). This got us water, and our drinks arrived. Still no food order; that was eventually taken 1h 20m in. What made us laugh was we were told at the head of the night we had only two hours at our table before we had to give it up. Our sober friend ordered a non-alcoholic drink, it arrived full of tequila. Mid-way through asked for a water refill for the table FOUR times before someone took pity and quenched us (once again the wait-manager to the rescue). The evening was a friend’s 50th birthday celebration, which just compounded the downer vibes. The olives arrived and half were pitted and the other half pits removed - was a lottery. Ordered a £47 tequila flight with no discernible way to know which glass belonged to which tequila. Some good: The food was tasty when it arrived 2 hours in but was poorly presented, we were apologized to several times through the night, the bathrooms are uniquely impressive, they removed the service and starters from the bill. Really want to think our experience was an anomaly, but seeing how much mis-communication and confused staff were wandering by us all night, I can’t help think there is just a huge disconnect between the aim head chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias; and execution of the day-to-day. In the end it really feels like Decimo has fallen by the same adage; the more beautiful and well situated a restaurant, the worse the experience… they will suck you in with the glowing rooftop and trapped hotel guests, and don’t need word of mouth. Too bad.

I met two amazing members of staff! First Thandie - it was a walk in so we were unable to get a table in the main restaurant, however she was so polite and did everything she could to get us a comfortable seat at the bar and positioned us perfectly to get a view of the skyline We were then passed on to Ludo, who was extremely charming and attentive. The restaurant has a great view and atmosphere, and the service was good. I had lunch, and ordered the Hamachi ceviche and a Tuna tostada for starters. The thinly sliced Hamachi was nice, and the tostada was ok, but none of them was excellent. For main I ordered the the Monkfish and a side of patatas bravas. The piece of fish looked like leftovers from some other diner's plate (see photo). It was really small for its price of £28. The patatas were excellent, and came as a very large portion, but I would expect to eat more than potatos at a Michellen star restaurant. The margarita I had was also excellent with a touch of spiciness. Overall, it's a nice place if you'd like to impress someone, but the food is not too exciting for its price.

Very beautiful place with a great view! The food was very tasty but the portions were tiny especially for the price we’ve paid. I was disappointed especially with my main dish, I’ve ordered the scallop and I’ve received one piece, very tasty but again ONE piece and I paid 18£. I don’t understand how one piece of scallop can be classified as a main dish.

Over 3 hrs and still no desert. Worst service I experienced in London (and in general) for many many years. Waiters super rude, and useless. If you want an insgramable place, maybe, if you want good food and good time, go anywhere else. Definitely not worth a visit and not worth the money.

I usually have a very hard time ordering at restaurants having Ulcerative Colitis. However the staff and specifically our waitress Kelly made my experience very easy and carefree. I usually get very weird responses to my very specific dietary restrictions, however Kelly greeted them with kindness and made sure that they were to my restrictions. We had booked a table for 9 pm. Finally at the table at 9.20pm. Food was ordered, at 10.10 pm still no food. Table next to ours came later, got food within a short period of time. No service unfortunately. Thus, left the restaurant hungry and without food.

La comida estaba bien, aunque caro. Pero ten cuidado con una vuelta de mesa muy estricta. Fuimos expulsados de nuestra mesa después de 1 h 50 m para que pudieran darle la vuelta. No hay margen de maniobra. Entonces no me impresionó mucho que la mesa no estuviera llena 25 minutos después cuando salimos de la zona del bar. No me sentí remotamente valorado o bienvenido. Un montón de aire caliente del maitre d sobre cómo los restaurantes tenían que hacer eso - todo bastante hueco cuando nadie tomó nuestros asientos. Perdieron nuestro pedido de postres, vino de postre y la mitad de la “propina” excesiva que deduje. No se apresurará a volver y no recomendaría si desea tomar su tiempo para su comida de cien libras por cabeza. Al menos.

We might come back for a drink, but the insanely overpriced tiny plates of food were just ridiculous. Although the food quality and taste was good. A restaurant is meant to feed the customers. After paying over £300 for a table of 4 people, the least you could expect is to be filled with food. Not the case at Decimo. The service was ok. But for this price you expect to have higher quality service. The waiter seemed not to be too sure about what the menu was, as we asked many questions and she had to read the paper. Overall, a highly overpriced restaurant that is being overhyped on Instagram. Not quite worth it.

El servicio fue deplorable y tratamos de pedir dos vinos diferentes de la lista y ambos estaban agotados. Como en muchos restaurantes y esta es una de las peores 5 comidas que he tenido. Era tan malo en tantos niveles que al final solo tenías que reírte. Londres tiene tantos restaurantes excelentes que definitivamente no es uno de ellos HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!

The crab fondue is an absolute must, as are the Nachos. However, everything we had to eat was lovely. The ambience of the restaurant was a home from home feel, with exceptional customer service. Nice cocktails as well 😉. I highly recommend a visit, and don’t forget crab fondue! 😁
