Dearn Lea in Kirklees

My Daughter and I went for Xmas lunch yesterday. The tables were all set with white table cloths and looked very Christmasy. We had taken our own champagne as they don’t sell alcohol. We were served by Lauren and Scarlett and they really looked after us. The food was lovey home made and everything was fresh. Just a big Thankyou to all the staff. We had a lovely lunch.

This place always surprises me. Today we came for a roast Sunday lunch which was so good. All 100% fresh home made, right down to the apple sauce. Yum yum.

Superb service from booking table to leaving Pre booked a table via the telephone Glad we did it was really busy The food was lovely we had a all day breakfast Burgers Toast sandwiches Bacon sandwiches and of course ice cream to finish The cakes looked so nice too we took some home with us Cannot wait to come back soon When leaving the restaurant The cows was just heading up to the milking parlour The children thought it was fantastic to watch what seemed hundreds of cows walking passed them

Had Fish and chips here a couple of days ago ,took two minutes to arrive which told me straight away there was something not quite right. The batter on the fish was soggy and appeared that the fish had been re heated , definateley not great and won't be having Fish and chips here again!

If you want a lovely traditional Sunday lunch be sure to visit Dearne Lea Tea Rooms. The home cooked roast (pork) was absolutely delicious and the service was friendly and quick. My wife had mushroom wellington which was also excellent and the pecan pie as takeaway takeaway dessert was amazing. Give this place a try, you won’t be sorry.

We popped in after a friend told us about this place. It was fairly late in the afternoon, yet we received a warm, friendly welcome. The cafe is located on a working farm (they have a viewing gallery if you want to see the cows being milked) and there is plenty of parking available. It’s a traditional setting, but none the worst for it. There’s a good selection of food on offer and even a selection of their own ice cream which I’m set on trying on our next visit. The cakes and scones were some of the best I’ve tasted. My wife loves an afternoon tea and she asked if it was still available so late in the day. A quick check with the kitchen confirmed that it was. The food was all fresh, very tasty and more than generous, to the point where we had to take the cakes home in a box offered to us by the thoughtful staff. As nice as the food was what really made this place shine were the people who worked there. They were so kind and welcoming and you could tell they had a pride in what they do.

This little farm shop is a gem in Shelley The people are very kind, even if I'm away for 6 months or a year, they still remember me when I come in and ask how I am. They make fabulous cakes if you ask them, they've made cakes for my dad's birthday and Christmas for me and they're always a hit. They're also really accommodating, as I live abroad they trust that I'll come in and pay and work around me. I've eaten here a few times and their breakfasts are big and tasty, they're also happy to work around you if you want to swap something for something else. The ice cream is always tasty and they normally have some unusual flavours to try around Christmas! I highly recommend giving this tea shop a try, you won't be disappointed and they will do all they can to give you a good experience

Called for lunch today. The staff made us welcome, were very attentive and helpful. The food was very nice and good value. We used to visit quite regularly before COVID arrived but its our first visit since. Everything just as nice and table service a definite improvement on previous ordering procedure. All in all an enjoyable visit, will be back soon.

I came with my Grand Daughter easter holidays the food was poor and were unable to view cows being milked disappointing as had good food previously

Nothing is rung through the till, can’t give receipts when asked for one! Not sure I would rush back, was made to feel like I was putting them out when requested a receipt. Only asked as I noticed it wasn’t put through the till.

Myself and wife visit regularly and have become accustomed to the welcome,service and quality food provided by Judith, Jackie and the staff. On 12/06/22 we visited for breakfast @ app 11-10am with a stone cold welcome, waited over 20mins & when people were served who arrived after us, we asked how long our food would be & were told that everthing was cooked fresh.Eventually our food arrived & at a glance it could be seen that it was far from appetising I.E Bone dry overcooked bacon, Solid egg. Tomatoe raw, Fried Bread like rubber. The Service was far below your usual standard & food was not even truck stop standard. We will call again in the hope that the above as been rectified.

Love this Tea Room, visited recently with my husband, daughters and some friends. The staff are lovely, plenty of tables and high chairs, nice varied menu, good cake and ice cream and my daughters love watching the cows.

Ordered a toasted sandwich was acceptable, with a little garnish. Staff overall were good however could have been sharpened up in appearance with uniform. So prices and food were ok....however the smell in the tea room was far from acceptable.Yes it is situated in a farm yard so you would expect all those smells ....but in the farm yard and not in the tea room where eating.I am sure there are Food Hygiene Regulations which would clarify. They need to address this problem.

The ice cream is somewhat artificial tasting. When you look at the ingredients, it's packed full of E numbers. Not sure why somewhere producing it's own 'home made' ice cream needs to do that - it could be so much nicer.

Estoy en total desacuerdo con el comentario anterior a este, porque yo y mi novio fuimos a la heladería Palour este fin de semana para una comida de domingo. Pedí la carne Cena y era precioso! La carne se derretía en la boca y los adornos lo hizo aún mejor! Definitivamente recomendaría ir y probar, no te decepcionará. Se llama una cena el domingo por una razón. Sin duda volveré. :-)

Soy local y visita Dearne Lea mucho con los niños para el helado. ¡Es genial! El helado es increíble y siempre hay una enorme variedad de sabores para elegir, si encuentras uno que te encanta puedes comprar una bañera para llevar a casa. Normalmente sentarse en el jardín a comer helados, que es muy bonito, algunas partes en el sol, algunos en la sombra. Si vas por la tarde hay un mirador donde se pueden observar las vacas siendo las vacas y a menudo hay dolieron dando la vuelta que puede pop y saludan a. ¿Qué más se puede pedir? !

We visited for a guickly cone . The ice teams always lovely , with loads of nice flavours, theirs the old favourites , but some new flavours too. It's good value for money. And staff were pleasant . We will visit again .

Have just visited today not impressed at all 1.30 ordered food 2 tosties took 45 minutes to arrive at table the spoon idea and staff having to shout silly you could have numbered tables customers could then sit down at a table then order food no need then for staff to have to keep shouting numbers out has they would know where to go , also poor parking people seem to just dump cars any where they want .

Yo vivo cerca y así he visitado muchas veces y no puedo quejarme de la comida. Hay una buena variedad de comidas principales para aperitivos y una gran variedad de delicioso helado. En particular, el desayuno vegetariano y el generoso porciones de tortas son excelentes. Es una granja y es posible ver las vacas siendo las vacas en horarios determinados. Sin embargo, hoy fui con mi hija y nieto de dos años y nuestra experiencia fue muy decepcionante. Pudimos sentarnos afuera en el jardín, donde hay mesas de picnic, pero pronto descubrimos que no era un ambiente seguro para los niños pequeños. Había una enorme cantidad de nettles los cuales cuentan con muchos y mi nieto cayó en sus manos algunos, de picadura muy mal. Esto también había pasado a otro niño. Además, la puerta tenía un aviso de clientes pidiendo que mantenerlo abierto, pero luego da a niños pequeños acceso directo a la carretera y zona de aparcamiento. No mencionamos a un miembro del personal se inició al menos media docena de miembros jóvenes del personal de repente aparecían y traducción en nosotros. Cuando nos íbamos, uno de ellos sacó un rostro en mi hija. Entendemos que la accesibilidad en el jardín para los discapacitados también es importante, así que quizás es un tipo diferente de la puerta es necesario. El jardín puede ser una gran ventaja para el salón de té si era depurado y hacían tanto más seguro y más atractivo. Esto lo hace más acogedor para las familias con niños pequeños.

Right,the food is always good the setting it's a working farm so expect it to smell like a farm but the foods good , the staff are normally good but there is one who is a bit of a jobsworth and slightly rude but the foods good they have cows you can see them being milked and did I say the foods good ,so be careful where you stand and where you sit in the restaurant make sure you only sit on a table with the right amount of places that you want or you maybe asked to move just in case .

Mi marido y yo regularmente para su visita Dearne Lea el té de la tarde. A £7. 50 por persona es la mejor relación calidad-precio para el té de la tarde que dinero he encontrado. Todo es casero y es de primera calidad. Nosotros cantamos sus alabanzas a lo largo de todo el día.

Never had a bad meal here, only issue is the main meals could be a bit cheaper, but I suppose you get what you pay for, except £7-£8 for Pie. and chips is a bit expensive for me :) Nice Ice-cream though!

He estado en habitaciones té Dearne Lea varias veces para comer con amigos. Ofrece un extenso menú con comida casera y tortas de helado de campo. La comida es realmente precioso, y hay mucho de él, también es una excelente relación calidad-precio. Mi única queja sería el proceso de pedidos de comida y bebida, es hecho en la factura y es muy lento y parece una eternidad, sobre todo porque el lugar siempre está lleno. Necesitan un sistema mucho mejor.

Por un capricho llamado para café y un helado. Fue 3. 30:00 los viernes y estaba ocupado, pero la mitad de la sala de té fue cerrada, que estaba bien, ya que cerca a las 5 de la tarde. Tenía 2 café, zumo de naranja de niño, tarta y 2 helados. La comida se veía genial y todo a un precio razonable. Precioso s lectionaries helados con sabor festivo de hielo. El ambiente era agradable, el personal era amable y disfrutamos de nuestra tarde de lujo! El entorno es acogedor y fue engalanadas, espero que la visita con las chicas para el té de la tarde.

La víspera de Navidad a mediodía y me apetece un desayuno realmente fuera de la ciudad. Una cosa es cierta, nunca me ha decepcionado en Dearne Lea. Llegamos justo antes de 12 y mi mujer 30 asegura un asiento mientras yo lugar de nuestra orden. El sistema de cuchara de madera funciona bien y tenemos tiempo para admirar la decoración festiva antes nuestro almuerzo llega. Ya hemos recogido nuestro té y cafetería de espléndido café grande. Sándwich de tocino crujiente de mi esposa se encuentra con su aprobación. Mi inglés perfectamente cocinado está bien caliente con tostadas y preparado a patatas fritas doradas frescura.
