De Luca Cucina & Bar in Cambridge

Best Italian food we have had outside of Italy. The starters were amazing (love the fresh bread and broccoli soup). The mains were even better, especially the homemade pasta. The deserts were divine. My small child loved the pizza. The best part is the prices are very reasonable. Everyone at our table had a starter, main, and dessert and it cost the same amount as a chain restaurant. So do your taste-buds a favor, give this place a try.

Went today had lasagne with my partner, food was so salty had to remind them to bring the salad. Wasn’t impressed with the service so only left a small tip but as we walked out the waiter was overheard discussing it I just felt the food wasn’t worth what we paid we have had some nice meals in Cambridge just a bit disappointed with this one.

If you want authentic Italian De Luca’s is the place. Great food (especially the prawn starter which was REALLY tasty), welcoming staff and an overall very enjoyable meal out

Lovely menu, unfussy warm and relaxed atmosphere with attentive service. Busy but didn’t feel rushed. A great place to catch up with family. We really enjoyed the vegetarian anti pasti sharing dish and then I had a nice pizza, but watched my dad have one of the pasta dishes and had serious food envy!

Friendly service, good food, fair pricing. Only feedback: the Chef is a much better cook than he is whistler. Shame that didn’t stop him trying all service..

NEVER THROWN UP AFTER A MEAL FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE! Just threw up so hard there was blood from my throat! The evening of visiting my partner had thrown up I woke up in the middle of the night crying wanting to throw up too but hadn’t. A whole night later i have and its because we both ate at this DISGUSTING restaurant! I dont know if they tampered with our food deliberately or what but i have never had food poisoning from a restaurant before! This place should be shut down!!!!

The “piano bar” required tickets. They were waayyyy over sold and we were jammed into a tiny bar upstairs with too many people. Very little seating. I would not go back unless I planned to get there asap to get a seat. Bar staff were great

We came here on a whim, not expecting much because the prices were so reasonable. I got the pasta special and my wife got the bolognese. They both came with home made pasta. They were incredible and the portion size was perfect! I highly recommend, though not on a Friday or Saturday because they tend to be quite busy.

Me and my friend went here and we loved the food, we ate everything, the manager was really welcoming and the waitress who served us on her first day was excellent, I will add extremely pretty and very down to earth, never change, we had the perfect night! Thank you de Luca team

Great night at the De Luca Piano bar with Robin P-iano performing. Friendly bar staff, good cocktails and reasonably priced. Very fun atmosphere and Robin is very talented on the piano and keeping everyone entertained.

Closes ar 9 not 10 - after cycling across town and arriving at 9:09 was rudely told 'the building is open till 10 but we don't serve food after nine'. My response of 'so you close at 9 then' was ignored by the waitor who walked away. Understandable that places sometimes close early but no need to be rude!

Came here for piano night on Saturday, it was so much fun! I would definitely go again 😄 Robin was brilliant and the bar staff were friendly. It's worth turning up early to get a seat

I only popped in briefly for a quiet drink at this place while waiting for friends to arrive in the town for a night out. I fancied somewhere where I could sit and relax while I waited The restaurant was very busy, but the manager and the staff still welcomed me to sit at a table and relax even though I wasn’t eating Very friendly staff and although I didn’t eat on this occasion, the food smelt great

I was initially disappointed with the fact that on a Friday night by 8:15 they were out of pizza. Why can't they just make sure they have more than enough dough to begin with?! Anyhow, the special pasta I reluctantly ordered ended up being very tasty, although the starters took a while to arrive. The food was authentic and tasty, I just wish the menu choices and service time matched!

I really enjoyed our visit. The Spag Bol with extra garlic and chilli was very tasty and the Tiramisu was generously proportioned and one of the nicest I have had. The house red was very drinkable which added nicely to the meal. Would definitely go again.

Perfect dinner! I went there last year for a birthday dinner and I had a wonderful time. The food was simply amazing. The size is quite big and the presentation is very pretty. Despite being a busy night, we didn't have to wait long for our big order (drinks & food). The staff was smiling the entire evening and helped me find a vase for flowers. Shout out to Andreche (I'm so sorry I'm spelling it wrong) for being a great that tonight. I really enjoyed it and I'm definitely coming back!

Just average, nothing outstanding. The drinks are very expensive considering how small they are! Not worth the money.

Good restaurant in central place. Roof terrace was lovely and cosy, with heaters and blankets. Food was fresh and hot and good prices. Staff were very friendly and relaxed.

We had a a fabulous meal delivered to us - antipasto starter to share, lasagne and chicken with mushrooms and mozzerella served with potatoe dauphinois and courgettes finished with a large portion of Tiramisu and chocolate & raspberry torte. It was such a nice change from the usual takeaways and great food as always from De Lucas!

Sus raciones son amigables, obtienes más de lo que esperas.Fui por mi 30 cumpleaños con mis compañeros de casa y regresaré en 2 semanas con mi mejor amigo.Recomiendo encarecidamente este encantador negocio independiente, especialmente ahora mismo. Sus medidas de seguridad Covid también te hacen sentir cómodo para salir a comer. También continuaron con el 50% de descuento en octubre, lo cual es excelente si desea apoyar a una pequeña empresa local pero también está tratando de ahorrar dinero en este momento. El personal era amable, conversador y conocedor.

Habíamos reservado otro restaurante pero cometieron un error con nuestra reserva y tuvimos que buscar otro lugar para comer, y terminamos en De Luca. No lo habíamos estado durante más de 5 años porque el servicio había sido deficiente en varias ocasiones, pero decidimos arriesgarnos porque teníamos hambre y ¡tenían espacio!Nos sentaron en una terraza en la azotea y me preocupaba que nos olvidaran porque no había nadie más allí, pero no teníamos que preocuparnos: el servicio fue fantástico.La comida también era muy buena: comimos arancini y burrata para empezar, luego yo comí pechuga de pollo al horno y mi esposo tenía pasta amatriciana. No nos podemos quejar de la comida. En general, fue una experiencia agradable que restauró nuestra fe en el restaurante y no dudaremos en volver.

Excelente comida y servicio italiano. Inicialmente sentí que el menú era un poco limitado para mí, sin embargo, ofrecía una opción para todos. Excelente comida, buen servicio, buen ambiente. Gran menú de cócteles, especialmente Lemon Drop y Raspberry Mule. La comida recién hecha, porciones generosas, tenía un sabor fantástico. No especialmente barato: 100 para 2 personas (pan + 2 platos con 3 cócteles y 2 copas de vino). Siguiendo todos los protocolos de seguridad C 19.

Un letrero que ofrece tagliatelle y albóndigas caseros por 8 GBP colgaba de manera atractiva fuera de este restaurante independiente. No fue hasta que recibimos la factura que nos enteramos de que este era el precio después y no antes de salir a comer para ayudar con el descuento, ya que no había ninguna referencia a esto en el cartel. Por lo tanto, nos cobraron mucho más por esta comida de lo que habíamos anticipado y nos sentimos obligados a cancelar otra comida para compensar. Esto no está en el espíritu de la oferta y se siente engañoso. Pedí que se modificara el letrero en el futuro, pero no estoy seguro de que así sea.

15 de nosotros pasamos una noche increíble en la habitación privada para la despedida de soltera de mi sobrina. La comida era excelente, excelente servicio, no podría haber sido más perfecto.La razón por la que vinimos a Cambridge fue simplemente porque había comido aquí antes, ¡y pensé que no había nada mejor! , así que todo el fin de semana se reservó únicamente por una experiencia fabulosa previa en De Luca.Muchas gracias por una noche tan fabulosa x

We booked for my Son's birthday. Great atmosphere, superb food, excellent service and reasonably priced. It doesn't get much better. Will definitely come back.

We really enjoyed ourselves here in a warm inviting upbeat atmosphere. The seafood rissoto was to die for and the tiramisu excellent. Everybody loved their food. Service was very very good. Location is fairly central.

A group of seven of us went and had a lovely evening. The food was excellent - bordering on fine dining! The service was attentive and courteous! We would definitely return if in Cambridge again.

The staff managed to fit 3 of us in on a very busy Saturday night that had lots of Christmas parties. They were very obliging. The server was very good and friendly. The food was more than adequate and the wine was good value.

Went for a gander in Cambridge on our daughters birthday and thought lets go somewhere different. All the usual chains were busy with their usual festive ready meal offerings, so after looking at a few reviews we travelled down Regent Street. At first we were unsure as it as not too busy but the attention straight-away said it all. Our waiter was very attentive and make sure we were comfortable and given adequate time. At first gance the menu was limited but refreshing, you could tell immediately that this was all going to be cooked from scratch. We choose a selection of starters and main courses and were thoroughly amazed. The fresh herbs, homemade pasta, proper stock bases to both the seafood and chicken options was deep and satistying. This was REAL food served well, authentic and generous portion sizes, very pleased indeed.

This was a lovely friendly restaurant with freshly cooked lasagne and seafood risotto. The house white was light and crisp and the Tiramisu an excellent way to finish. The staff made you feel like you ate there every night. Definately one to go back to.

La comida era muy sabrosa ya un precio razonable. Tuvimos un vino Primitivo Puglia de precio modesto pero muy sabroso. Tuvimos una cena de trabajo y todos estaban encantados. Soy estadounidense, así que soy exigente con la comida de calidad en Cambridge, pero este lugar fue excelente. El servicio fue excelente y las recomendaciones de vino fueron excelentes en sabor y valor y no solo nos llevaron a vinos caros. Este no es un restaurante de cadena y lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Myself and my boyfriend had a fabulous night at De Luca. The food was authentic and delicious and all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. After our brilliant meal, we went up to the Piano Bar for 3 hours of live music and had a great night. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Very good value, central location, and well worth a visit

Authentic Italian with warm and welcoming staff. Only disappointment was that there was a Christmas menu with limited choice so we couldn’t sample some of the dishes we had seen online. The prawn starter was great and make sure you have extra bread to mop the sauce as you do want to leave any. Seating is in comfy red leather chairs or booths, can get quite noisy though.

We had a pleasant evening until the bill arrived and they had added a 10% tip.It was enjoyable but not brilliant ,tothenbe asked if they could reinstate it was poor.We always leave cash for the tip after finding some restaurants take a percentage

Visiting Cambridge overnight and managed to get a table for two. We ordered prawns and squid to start, followed by pork and chicken for mains. The food was piping hot, which I personally think is a must, and delicious. Cocktails were good, several were imbibed. Service was excellent and staff friendly. Would highly recommend.

My family frequented this restaurant for a last meal together before one of our party went away to university. Never have I been more aware of excellent service! The staff were wonderful and incredibly attentive, with one young waiter making a delightful impression with his friendliness and charisma. As for the food, it was stunning. Excellent value for money considering it is the best meal I have had in a long time. I’ll be revisiting soon and I’m eager to see if it lives up to its glowing first impression. I’ve recommended it to countless people since and will continue to do so until I have the pleasure myself of going again. 5 stars.

Went for dinner with my daughter. Food was superb and really well cooked with very traditional Italian flavours. The wine which was recommended to us by our waiter complimented the food selection perfectly. Great atmosphere and really excellent service and we will defiantly be going back.

Visited this restaurant last night with friends, and first impressions were it was a lively place with a good atmosphere. We were seated after a couple of minutes, and the table we had was thankfully spacious, compared to others we could see in there that were a little cramped. Our waiter came to take our orders and made a recommendation for myself, being a vegetarian, to try the aubergine bake. My husband is also trying a plant based diet, but the waiter did not believe him and proceeded to try to change his mind and recommend a dish firstly with shrimp, then with chicken! It got rather awkward, both for my husband, and for the rest of us, and eventually my husband had to get slightly firm and ordered his original choice! The food was slow in coming, and we had to remind them of our second drinks order. The food was very nice, and I can thoroughly recommend the Tiramisu which was delicious. A mixed experience overall!

Much less noisy than the tapas bar nearby, but we couldn't work out why there was security on the door, till rather loud (what appeared to be ) karaoke came wafting down the stairs.

Great place. Food tasted amazing, really fresh ingredients. The staff very friendly and attentive. You need to book as it is only a small place. There is a piano bar upstairs if you want to go after your meal, very busy but sounded great. Will return when next in Cambridge as had a lovely evening.

Fui con un grupo de amigos un sábado por la noche. Estábamos en un comedor privado y teníamos los menús. En primer lugar, nuestro camarero fue eficiente y acogedor. Todos tuvimos antipasto, que estaba bien. Tuve un plato principal de linguini que contiene cangrejos y langostinos, de nuevo muy sabroso y terminando con tiramisú, que estaba bien. Mientras que la comida era sabrosa y buena relación calidad-precio, me pareció que los precios del alcohol eran altos. Volvería otra vez, sí, pero no compraría alcohol.

Booked a table for two on a Friday evening in August. We were greeted well on entry and served promptly. Several homemade pasta dishes on offer as specials, and a range of classic Italian dishes for starters and mains - we tried the bread basket, burrata, mushroom linguine and a prawn pasta special. The food was rich and delicious.

One of the most authentic Italian tastes I've had in Cambridge. The bolognese was fantastic - incredibly sweet and tasty, just like the ones you find up the Coast of Amalfi.

The restaurant was lovely with a great atmosphere but unfortunately the food was really disappointing. The Italian sausage was literally a dry sausage on top of some fried peppers. Our mains were slightly better but lacked the "Italian" touch so I'm guessing that the chef hasn't been to Italy. Having said that, the service was fine and the Piano bar was amazing.

We went for an early dinner at De Luca. The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout and especially lovely to my little boy. He was flagging due to a long day and we had to change his meal after ordering. The manager accommodated this personally whilst he and all his staff were dealing with a very busy restaurant. Add to this the food was excellent, everyone was greeted with smiles and reasonably priced.

We took a window seat and ordered the bread basket, noodles, soup of the day and drinks. We looked outside of the street and enjoy the dinner as well as their hospitality. The bread basket were fresh and tasty👍

Primera vez en Cambridge y este restaurante fue recomendado por el conserje de la Universidad Arms. Entró sin una reserva (pero recomendaría uno) nos sentamos y atendidos rápidamente por Jorge nuestro camarero. Mi hija y yo éramos una pareja hambrienta y el menú no me decepcionó. El antipasto misto estaba a punto con las aceitunas, los quesos, las carnes y las verduras. El vino de la casa fue un gran partido para los entrantes, tuve la lasaña y mi hija el linguini boloñesa. Pasta perfectamente cocida, salsas equilibradas y sabores ricos en capas. ¡Limoncellos después del plato principal, espresso y un postre helado con amaretto y espresso como un flotador de espresso! Si estás en Cambridge, ve a este lugar, ¡la comida estaba golpeando! ¡Gracias Jorge por el maravilloso servicio! Mi esposa y mi hijo tenían lasaña para llevar y risotto de champiñones y ambos fueron fabulosos fuera de las latas! Tienes que comer aquí!

We couldn’t decide where to eat on Friday evening so we wandered round the corner from our hotel and stumbled upon De Luca. Even though the restaurant was packed, they found a table for the three of us. The menu was sizeable and looked very tempting - too tempting. We decided to have an antipasto misto plate, arancini and two servings of bread for starters. The antipasto plate was just fabulous. We’d ordered lasagna, risotto and tagliatelle as our main courses and they were HUGE. We felt really bad that we couldn’t finish our plates especially as the food was hot and very tasty. No room for pudding! The drinks list was fine and reasonably priced. The staff were all very efficient and friendly. Because it’s a busy restaurant, the ambience is on the lively / noisy side, but that added to the fun. This is a lovely family restaurant with good food - just be sensible with the starters.

We had a night here for a group of 7 - a combined stag and hen do, with a Cocktail Masterclass as well as dinner. The venue was fantastic, and our bartender was excellent - the food was lovely with a friendly and inviting atmosphere.

After reading a couple of the negative reviews took the gamble to book a table on a quiet Tuesday evening and was not disappointed.

Absolutely loved this place. It was busy, Friday I guess and the food was absolutely wholesome. Risotto and the Lamb special left us with no space for the array of puds.

The atmophere was hostile from the start, the service was horrible and rude especially from the management, the food was tepid as it was left on the kitchen counter for 20 mins and was served to us after about one hour after we ordered. We were left with no service at one point and one waiter came and started making rude comments and cleaning the table without any consideration to the fact that we were still sitting there. One of us was told that she looked tired and should go to bed, for example.

I wouldn’t recommend this place there are better Italian restaurants in Cambridge been three times won’t be returning.

We visited De Luca today and we finally had amazing Italian food and hospitality. We tried the Mussels and the handmade Meatballs and they were very tasty( sauce on both dishes was incredible).
