Aromi Peas Hill Caffe and Gelateria in Cambridge

Rip-off!!! We bought an ice cream for my daughter earlier today. 2 flavours -1 cone - on their board it states that it’s £4.90 however they charged us £9.80. When I tried to understand why they are charging us twice the amount the girl kept on telling me that it’s because my daughter chose two flavours. Will never return again!!

Good pizza. The problem was the service, from the people at the counter and the people that serves you pizza, everyone was pissed off and annoyed by us. And it was not only me, but everyone who was ordering before. The hygiene is also not very good, the silverware was dirty, and the glasses for tap water looked like they need some upgrade. As I said, pizza was very good, but I would not go there again.

I wish have in London. Everything I eat was incredible delicious!

Ice cream was perrrrrrrrfect! We ordered tiramisu, mandarin, pistachio and nut. The portion was very big and the price for that ice cream was cheap. Really liked the place. Try this and you won’t regret.

Lovely food! Quite a bit of choice. Value for money. The queue took about 15 mins for a take away and then a few mins wait if you want it warm. In my Opinion it was worth the wait. Really enjoyed the pizzas / focaccia and tartlets we tried

Ice cream was tasty but service was rather slow. Staff look frustrated to be serving you in the first place. Ice cream counter was too high for wheelchair users to reach.

The dining space seemed a bit small. They need a sign on the side door as people keep walking in through it and get turned away by staff. Overall, very good restaurant and highly recommend going if you’re hungry in Cambridge.

The pizza dough was amazing, but the tomatoes base was a bit sweet for my usual liking. We have to queue 20mins for a takeaway.

The food here is superb as always. I usually sit inside however I was busy and decided to take away. I think it’s a poor system where you have to shuffle past the queue all the way outside to where you can faintly hear your order being called and have to awkwardly shuffle back in. It would be great to have a proper system. Aside from that the food is delicious and authentic. I would recommend and will come here in future 😊

Perfect pistacio hot chocolate. Never tasted anything quite like it, it was like drinking pure melted nutty chocolate. The croissants were absolutely delicious too. If you visit Cambridge, this one is a must.

The line is a little longer, but it's cheap and delicious! There are two floors, Level 0 and Basement 1, so there's plenty of seating even if it's crowded. Will visit again. * Ordered Caponata（茄子披萨）、Magherita（玛格丽特）、Tiramisu

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Ordered food and they forgot about us, offered no apology, and wasn’t sincere about trying to help the situation. We walked out without our food, and at that point they got £26 out of us for free

The food here is amazing, truly gorgeous. There were massive queues from around 11.30am until 3.30pm, so we left it until then to try the food, was definitely worth the wait. However as there were only seats left downstairs, one member of staff didn't seem happy for us to be down there, even though another had told us we could sit down there as it was s busy. So we did feel a little bit out of place as she was trying to clean. But other than that I would still return for food.

Absolutely shocking service and terrible manners and communication. £30 for 3 sandwiches and I was charged 3 times because the lady at the bar didn’t know who was in charge and how to explain what had happened. No cutlery given and I was given the wrong drinks order and the correct one never came as a replacement,AWFUL SERVICE.

Great food, good service but boy ard you rammed in! We had a table for 2 but were so close to the next table it was more like table for 4!

Food was tasty it wasn’t very hot more on the cold side, not much variety even tho it looks like they have a big menu through the window. The people working on the shop they were not very welcoming, they take your order like they are annoyed to have you there.

Probably the worst service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. Extremely poor and un-attentive staff. They brought out the dessert of tiramisu before the main course, and when we refused and asked for it to be brought out at the end, a minute later another waiter came back with the tiramisu. We again refused, and once we asked for it at the end of the meal, it was nowhere to be seen.

It was delicious. Large portions, there is an opportunity to eat at the institution or take food with you.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon following a recommendation from an Italian friend. Tried the Caponata and Pancetta Pizza, both delicious. Indulged in Cannoli Ricotta, Panz Crema, and a velvety Pistachio Hot Chocolate. The Cannoli Ricotta stands out with its fried pastry, sweet cream cheese, and a hint of lime—a highly recommended delight. Despite a busy shift, the staff remained friendly and helpful.

The food is amazing, there is usually a queue and you need to wait to get a seat, but the food is worth it. However, yesterday the staff decided to serve their friends, skipping all the people that were already waiting, and my 15 mins wait turned into a 50 mins wait, since they ordered 6-8 pizzas that went before mine and other 10 numbers that were waiting before me. This is not fair, especially if they are making people wait outside in the cold.

Great pizza and tiramisu. The pistachio thick hot chocolate is worth trying, but you need a spoon. Will visit again. 😊

the food, specially the pizza, is amazing! really delicious. however, go there if you are patient enough to stay in a long que for quite a while to get a chance to go inside a very small restaurant and after you get a seat next to the door which with every time opening, you freeze to death and your food get cold quickly! they are earning money, why are they not expanding?!

They put their card reader for tipping next to the actual card reader for paying! The tipping machine took a tip from me without my permission. Definitely a con, I’m sure I’m not the only person to come across this

The food options are quite limited, but whatever you order you are in for a wonderful treat. The cafe area is quite tight with not a lot of space.

Tourist trap: Waited 40 minutes to get 2 slices of pizza - it was served in paper bags that stuck to all of the topping which made it a complete waste of time and money. Service was also rude and seemingly annoyed that their shop was busy and made us wait outside. The pistachio Arancini was good but overall I would not recommend.

It is not surprising that there is always a line outside Aromi during lunch time. This is the best it gets for Italian food in Cambridge, and the prices are super fair. Aromi is a family business, which is rare in town. Here you will find a wide array of Sicilian delicacies, from amazing deserts to arancinis, pizza slices, and full sourdough pizzas. If you are there in the afternoon, please do not forget to try their “thick” hot chocolate - it is simply divine. As a suggestion, the ordering system/table service system could be better explained outside as it often causes confusion.

Very bad in serving customers..

I came here last November (but only posting the review now LOL) and the food is definitely really amazing, i think i got the margherita pizza and a scottish egg? (I LOVED IT HAHAHHZ) And the drink, which you have to try, its so good!!! The queue last November was long as heck and even people waiting outside the shop when its raining, i think its quite a locally known shop, the seats are very tight given its quite a small place but regardless im very fulfilled and will come here next time visiting cambridge <3

1 hour waiting time for a slice of pizza to go, extremely unpleasant.

Bit of a mixed bag. We tried a selection of pizzas, all of which were pretty good. Arancini and cannoli were a little disappointing. The service style of the restaurant needs a bit of a rework. Staff at the counter, despite being friendly, are very slow to serve customers meaning big queues that hardly move. Given the level of trade, I’m surprised the restaurant isn’t just constantly cooking a range of pizzas and cutting and serving as they go, as opposed to cooking individual slices to order. Trying to find a table was pretty tough, especially given there were families sitting at tables without food. Whilst the upstairs seating area is nice, the basement is a little dingy and that ended up being the only space we could find a spot.

Lots of pizzas to choose from, taste is good. My pizza was served with a wrong flavour, so I told the staff and he kindly waived the price for my dessert.

The food is excellent, but the vegetarian options are limited. Finding somewhere to sit can be stressful as it is always so busy.

Great! Authentic Sicilian food! The pizzas are delicious, and the focacias are delicious, the best. Both pizzas and focacias come in many varieties, where I recommend the parmigiana one. They have good prices, and the sizes are large. The dough is very crunchy and spongy at the same time. They also have desserts such as cakes or biscuits, panzerotto or cannolis. We loved it

Very nice food here, the spianata sandwich was massive and the arancini was nice too. The Italian deserts are done properly and all in all is a reasonable price for what you get. It’s all self service at the till so you’re queuing with take out people and it wasn’t the friendliest either. We ended up sat downstairs near the toilet, they could probably improve the service and atmosphere but I was fine with the good food so have kept it at five stars.

Fabulous. Great coffee, amazing pistachio creme filled Cornetto (croissant). It was so great for a mid-morning break from Christmas shopping. We went back for a late lunch and post shopping bottle of wine, and the Spianata did not disappoint. I believe it will become a favourite coffee shop for us.

Lovely paninis! Looking forward to try all the other sandwiches, pizzas, and desserts. The capricciosa panini is definitely worth the wait till around 11 am (I was thinking about having it for breakfast), though personally I’d prefer it to be toasted a littler longer to get the cheese melting. Latte without latte art is a bit disappointing (strong taste with no particular flavor), but the divine pistachio tarts make up for it. The rich cream and the crispy base just work perfectly together. The spacious space downstairs is quite a surprise. —- New extended hours for dinner. No reservation. Walk in only. Tried to make a group reservation and was rejected, which is reasonable for a busy restaurant BUT— as I was asking for advice regarding a more promising time to walk in with my group: The man picking up the phone is very impatient and rude. “I am busy, madam, I don’t have time.” Then don’t leave a phone number!!! Someone doesn’t value customers here. 😒 I remember your voice. Luckily we got a table for the group at 7 on a weekday. Pizza is marvelous. 🍕Our large group almost tried every option. I got the Norma with added Nduja. The dough is so stretchy and soft. The tomato sauce is rich. The pesto is aromatic. The aubergine is generous and really satisfying. Golden mozzarella. And the added Nduja is beautifully spicy. Love it. And the bubbles~ better than lunchtime slices. The staff tonight are all cheerful and friendly. It might help to have more card machines or online payment options to ease the queue. — Early dinner. Delicious pizza as always. You can trust this place.

Great pizza, but certain staff need to be trained in customer service. Passive aggressive and blunt upon arrival. The food however is very good, hence the long queues. The ordering system could be better.

A cosy place to rest your legs after strolling around Cambridge. I really like the ambience this cafe gives. The menu are quite varies, from pastry, gelato, cake, and pizza. Vegetarian and vegan are available.

Unbelievably slow, disorganized and unfriendly. What a shame

disorganised, slow, terrible coffee took 15minutes to order 2x sit in coffee & biscotti. 1 person taking orders, but trying to serve & prep food at the same time. 1st hazelnut latter was awful, coffee over extracted. sent back & requested a mocha, that took another 5mins queing & explaining. espresso was also over extracted. pizza might be good, but dont use as a coffee shop.

Service not great, forgot our olives and had to ask 3 times. Noticed 2 other tables having the same problems. Staff seemed rather inexperienced. Pizza undercooked and rather bland. I won’t rush back but could be they were having a bad day. Gelato cone from their place round the corner, on the other hand, was superb!!!

Went for a meal in the evening. Is quite a busy and cosy little place. The food is very good and so is the staff. Toilet downstairs. Did not notice accessibility. Highly recommended.

Incredible focaccia and delicious arancini and the pizza is to die for. It is always busy which is a bit of a bummer but totally worth the wait to get something to go. For staying in it's best to make a reservation or just be early. I haven't tried the cannoli but it's the next on my list!

A very busy centrally located Italian patisserie. If you want Pizza, coffee, cannoli this is the place to go. It's very busy, but has a nice interior and also does take away. They have a gelato store around the corner too.

Best gelato in Cambridge! To even more specific, best pistachio gelato I’ve ever had! I’ve been eating here bi-monthly for over 3 years! Highly recommend! Also the pizzas and filled croissants are amazing!

I liked the food and quantity of food was really good. If I am so hungry I can prefer. However taste is not great. I tried margherita pizza and it made me feel like “this is not tomato sauce, it is just paste”. Maybe next time they can use actual tomato sauce with some oregano.

First visit. Very crowded. Had to order at counter for both eat in and takeaway. Ate in and didn't have to wait too long. As I have a small appetite, I wanted to eat half at location and half to takeaway. Generous portions, but not easy to peruse the selection because it was so crowded. Good selection of meat and veggie fillings, can't comment on vegan or food intolerance availability as not applicable to me. Would have been useful to have a menu to study before queuing up.

This is by far the best Italian place in Cambs, with excellent coffee, delicious pastries and great focaccia choices. Personal favourite: the arancini, especially the spinach one, when available. Expect long queues, especially on weekends.

I loved this place before Covid, but was disappointed when visited it last week with a friend. They used to have one of the best hot chocolates in UK, now it's usual watered staff they have everywhere. They used to have very tasty pizzas, but just average now. Sad. I am afraid I would not call back again now.

Just passed by when the place opened up. Good timing. Got in by coincidence. It turns out to be very good Italian food. especially enjoyed the crunchy arancini, and the pistachio tiramisu. Pizza is good too. Nice vibe. Feels like in Italy. Highly recommended.

Had my breakfast here with a cappuccino and a pistachio croissant and they were both delicious. I also tried the cioccolato & ricotta cake and it was good too. Didn’t really like the tartellette instead. Overall, I recommend this place for breakfast and lunch too as the counter was loaded with pizza slices and focaccia.

Stumbled on this on visit to Cambridge Absolutely fantastic food! A real find! Some of the best Italian food outside of Italy and better than most eateries in Italy! Very welcoming and great service - highly recommend!

With only 2 small groups in front of us, on a quiet weekday afternoon, we thought we’d have our ice-creams soon, but after 20 mins (at least; not exaggerating) we gave up!!! Basically, everyone in front of us had a taster of practically every flavour! Bad enough that the flavours’ board is hidden from the queue, thus guaranteeing a delay in ordering, but the tasting time took forever! We did ask (politely, honestly) if we could simply buy our ice-creams and were summarily dismissed. Even by the manager. Do you not want customers? You’ve lost us, permanently; we’ll be round the corner at Jack’s.

We joined a queue to get ice cream but after 20 minutes they’d only served 4 people. They were letting everyone try EVERY ice cream flavour. A great thing to do in quiet times but crazy when it’s busy. We mentioned this to the manager but she was very dismissive. We said we couldn’t queue much longer and she wasn’t bothered so we had to go elsewhere. They could do 10 times the amount of business if they recognised this issue, but it’s their decision I guess! Not how I’d run a business and I won’t ever go back if there is ever any queue.

Absolutely poor customer service… placed an order and went to sit down. Waited half an hour for the food to arrive only for it not to arrive so decided to chase it up. Turns out that the order was not placed by the waitress who took our order. When I said that’s fine and asked for it to be placed, I was called a liar and told that I did not place the order in the first place. After going back and forth (showing bank statement etc.) it was finally sorted. I went in at 1pm and ended up leaving at 3:30pm…. Abysmal service

Pizza al taglio is very good, pistacchio gelato taste is even above the average you can get in Italy. Desserts are delicious as well with fair prices. This is a truly Italian pizzeria/bar/tavola calda.

Good food, but takes ages for someone to take your order than another age to get it....

The chef was cutting all the pizzas and sandwiches with the same knife. Only had one “veggie” sandwich that had Parmesan in…so not veggie! Bad experience.

Lovely pistachio tarts and cake however would advise against the pistachio latte. Sadly the queues are caused by the chaotic system in place not the demand for food.

Aromi is one of the only places I will happily que in the rain for, thats because it is one of the yummiest places to eat in Cambridge, the pizza is to die for. They are so fresh and they taste superb! You are spoilt for choice in terms of flavours and will never leave disappointed. And as for the gelato, it is so fricking good! Especially the pistachio (whipes drool from face jut thinking about it) Highly recommend!!! And also comes with a high five from my fussy, pizza loving toddler!!!

I would have given 5 stars but that comes when they start serving vino hopefully next month🤞yep probably the best pizza we have had. Busy place for all the right reasons. Onward and upward Aromi.

I love the thick hot chocolate here (the pistachio flavored one with the cream) and the caponata pizza is really good if you're vegetarian like me (crispy crust and savory/acidic flavours).

GREAT FOOD, but horrible service that ruins the whole experience. Twice have been there, always being kind and smily (as I work in hospitality too and know what it means…) and both times have been welcomed with rolling eyes, disrespect and rudeness.
