Dawson's Bistro in Coleraine

Great food and service however 2 kids (aged 4 and 5) wanted skinny fries.....like burger King. Dishes arrived and the skinny fries were like normal chips

Let me start by saying we are regular customers of hotel. Staying, leonas tea room, bistro. So shocked and surprised what we went through tonight in dawsons bistro. Now made me and my partner so unhappy and will think twice using the bistro. On arrival at 6.15pm as usual friendly staff showed six of us to our table (two family where over from glasgow and was treat for them) order was taking one of are family wanted wings that was starter and dessert only. The waitress asked would you like it as main course to come out same time as rest of our mains. No other starters where ordered. Said yes please and she said will write it down so chef will know. Ten mins later wings came out thought rest food coming out nothing. So carried on eating wings. Drinks order taking missing jug juice, giving extra pint not ordered. This was sorted. Wings plate taking away. My two wee nephews where hungry and asked where was there food. 7.00pm no sign of food. 7.10 came we ended up asking waitress that served us where was our food and wings didnt come out with mains. She was shocked came out said putting on plates now. That was waste of time the soft egg on menu for ham and eggs was rock hard asked for things not to be served it was all on the plates. The two burgers where totally burnt black very dry. Nephew couldnt eat his my other half ate half. The french fries that my nephew love so much that tea room served was bits left bottom of the bag where not touched. The bar manager brought out to nephew and could clearly see over cooked and scraps. We where totally let down by the chefs and according to the bar manager was not his fault or the chefs put blamed the waitress that served us. Disgraceful. I asked to speak to the bar manager away from the restaurant as so angry at our meals brought to us. Informed him of waiting time, the terrible food and said about the wings and informed him he needs to complain to his chefs. His attitude was terrible he blamed the waitress said wasnt on the menu about the wings. I informed him my nephews where hungry and hour wait is unacceptable. He said we will not be charged for dinner only our drinks. Just as well as burgers wasnt eating also chips and the ham and eggs. We where so angry and had to say sorry to our family from glasgow as we told them food is amazing at the magherbuoy hotel. Am afraid will just stick to leonas tea rooms and give the bistro a miss. I left angry but my family went to the toilet and informed me the waitress said sorry and the bar manager. Still left sour taste as we ended up going somewhere else to eat.

Superb, friendly and delicious!! Very last minute called ahead and was offered service inside of out!! Staff couldn’t be more helpful or friendly!! Food served efficiently and to everyone’s liking! Teenage children’s new favourite north coast eatery!! Well done we’ll be back!!

We called this evening to visit the new Innside Out. This is a great set-up, which was really well thought out.. we had great food and drink and the staff were great also. Matthew was a very attentive barman, carrying us several pints of guiness and katie was a great waitress, ensuring we had everything we needed and giving great reccomendations on the food!! I had the No.41 burger (my usual) and as always it was fab :) My fella had the Chicken Bang Bang Pizza which is new to the menu and was first class also, i think this will become his new "usual". Our puppy was also made very welcome and was given lots of attention and some home made organic dog treats :) we will certainly be back soon :) thanks again guys x

Had a night away from the kids (a rare thing to happen). Booked in here and we had a great night with matthew the barman and all his recommendations of shots 😂. Brill nights craic , will def be back!!

Went to the Magherabouy Hotel for tea the other evening and was really impressed by the lovely decor, very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. A waitress called Sarah looked after us and nothing was too much trouble for her. Our meal was lovely. The chilli chicken pasta was delicious and the chicken gougons were really tasty. Definitely worth a visit.

we went to Magherabuoy hotel for the tea time special and in one word to describe it - SUPERB! from the second you walk through the door it feels so homely and welcoming. The resturant staff were very friendly, very professional and so welcoming. Sarah and Kieran went above and beyond the extra mile in customer service, they both are a credit to Magherabouy Hotel, nothing was any trouble for them. The choices on the menu are so difficult to choose from as they all look delicious and mouthwatering, The resturant is immaculately clean, bright airy and it does not feel as if everyone is jammed together compared to some restuarants are, the bar staff are so friendly and they have such a fantastic rapport with the guests as did Sarah, Kieran and Sean, I cannot recommend the Magherabouy Hotel teatime treat highly enough, it is definitely well worth a visit, you will not be disappointed!

Our Band B hosts recommended we try this restaurant. A bit of the tourist trail, but a new menu and chef. Great variety on the menu, tasty food, family friendly, relaxed service, good wine list and very reasonably priced.

Just called in for our dinner can say it was lovely we were in time for the tea time special ! Fantastic value for money food was great and fantastic service ! We will be back .

Well - this place has certainly upped its game. Last time we visited the food was mediocre and the service sluggish. It has been rebranded, redecorated, has a new menu, and, we were told a new Chef. The menu now is extensive and the food was absolutely delicious. We had nachos and chicken wings to start, followed by fillet steak and my wife had seabass. Then sticky toffee pudding and panacotta. Everything was fresh and seemed home-made with great flavours. The steak was perfectly cooked and the fish delicious. The presentation was top class too. Stuff were pleasant and helpful but unobtrusive. If this place keeps up the high standards it will really take off. Get there early.

Quite an easy review really. Outstanding food, service, facility with a warm welcome and attentive but not intrusive table service. In my opinion the best Sunday carvery on the North Antrim coast. Thank you very much to all staff from reception to kitchen staff and chefs to those waiting on the tables, oh yes and lovely touch with the Easter Bunny! You f you haven’t been yet, go! You will not be disappointed trust me.

Over a decade we have been staying at the Magherabuoy House Hotel. And can firmly remark the Hotel is worth staying at. From start to finish service was exemplary, and all staff were pleasant and professional as always. Their pre eminent attention to detail goes along way. We have stayed in all cities and Top Hotels but we can't stay away from this Hotel. Excellent food and the new chef is leaving his mark. Would highly recommend. W.M.C..

Good place for an extensive five course Sunday carvery. Always an interesting variety of hot/cold starters, main courses and sweets. Peaceful venue with attentive staff. As always with a buffet some items can be less tasty if they have sat for a while.
