I took my mum for mother's day treat, for breakfast. Ordered aloo paratha, and halwa poori breakfast. We waited 30mins or so to be told that they didn't have aloo paratha, as they had run out of allo prep, they had to preapre it. And it wasn't busy at the restaurant at all when we went, around 11am. Then we said just give us the halwa poori, in which we only got chana and halwa and not the allo vegetable. Overall the service is very slow, no apologies and their standard of cooking is not stable, keeps on changing.

The naan was flat and dry. The madras curry very spicy and oily. The prawns were amazing but unfortunately there were only 4 of them in the curry.

The food was not as tasty as I’d like. The chicken briyana was sooo oily. The naan was flat & had crispy bits. The prawn korma wasn’t tasty either. Extremely disappointing.

Poor service , had to ask for onion pickle which was not served. Found hair in the poori , informed the staff, couldn’t finish the breakfast. No Apologies from the staff or no acknowledgement. Lack of Hygiene.

Another excellent visit to Dawat for dinner. The food is really good, service is great and price is very reasonable. Especially rate the fried masala fish, that is incredible and we have it every time! We’ve taken friends and relatives there too over the last few years and they are always equally impressed. Lots of choice of dishes too.

The service was very poor. The waiters were very grumpy. One of them was very sleepy. After finishing the main course I raised my hand twice to make order for deserts. They came in very late and took order for tea and sweets. But without clea ing the table and clearing the dishes they served the deserts which is very awefull. Toilet and washroom facilities were very dirty. Overall service was poor.

I came here with my brother and we were very surprised at the new decor: it was classy, understated and sublime all at once. The most amazing aspect was the water running across a table into a smoke-filled waterfall - beautiful. We ordered an array of dishes including lamb karahi, prawn tandoori curry, vegetable samosas, pilau rice, bombay potatoes, popadoms plus some breads. We asked for the starters first which did not happen. They decided to bring everything back to front and we had to ask for our drinks 4 times from staff just milling around and not looking very busy. The service here was not at all good but the food really does make up for it: the balance of flavours, spices and execution of the dishes are just utter perfection - it’s just a shame the service lets it all down. I would give 5 stars overall but the service is what lets this place down - the staff just don’t seem to care. I would award 2 stars for the service we received. I would come back and would recommend eating here - let’s hope the service improves in the meantime.

One of THE best, the greatest, the most delicious, traditional Pakistani authentic restaurant in the whole of South London.

I have wanted to eat here for a long time and so when the opportunity was presented to me today, I was very pleased. We ordered vegetable and meat samosas, a tandoori king prawn curry, lamb jalfrezi, pilau rice and some naan and roti breads. The food was absolutely delicious, utterly outstanding in flavour and spice balance and executed to the highest of standards. My prawn dish was seasoned to perfection with huge king prawns and the breads and vegetable samosas were equally tasty. My brother loved his dishes too and we both said it was some of the best Pakistani cuisine that we’d had in a while. We both look forward to coming back trying some of their other menu items.

This was the first time we visited this restaurant and based on the reviews we were hoping for an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately not, after 45 minutes waiting to place our food order we flagged down a waiter. After a further half an hour we still hadn’t received our starters and had to chase. When they arrived they were lukewarm and had run out of samosas ….really? Frankly it was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. It took more than an hour and a hour to get the main course from arriving and the food was distinctly average. It was a very unpleasant and unenjoyable experience and I would not recommend it to anyone new to the area.

Simple tasty food is what you get here. The price is excellent for what you get. We ordered the lamb chops and lamb balti and both were delicious. The coconut naan was heaven but the keema naan was just too thick for my liking. It gets very busy in a saturday so be prepared to wait.

Meal was not fresh at all and service was pathetic. we were the only people in restaurant for breakfast for 2 and still they could not provide service. I guess that they are using cooked leftover foods from previous days and when reheating kebabs these we like eating rubber melted with plastic. half of the order was served and the remainder came after 20 min which we returned and they still charged that in the bill which need to be corrected. They need trained staff and fresh food

We were a family group of 8 and I’m glad we booked as it was busy on the Friday evening we went. The food was excellent and it was nice to be able to see the chefs at work. Service was quick, polite and efficient. We ordered far too much of course but they were happy to pack up all the leftovers for us to take home. Definitely the place to go if you’re in Norbury.

A comida é boa. Nao é uma autentica comida indiana, mas saborosa. O atendimento deixa um pouco a desejar em alguns momentos.

Me and my daughter came for a meal after watching Pretty Woman!Poppadum and chutney tray we’re delish! Disappointed no hot plates for main sides! Half tandoori chicken tasted great! Sides not worth £8.95 each! Service charge already on the bill - the waiter had the cheek to ask if we wanted to leave a tip??? Kind of ruined the experience !!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fanstastic little family run place. Food and service was first class at very reasonable prices anywhere let alone London. Well worth a visit

They offered some regional dishes that we had not seen elsewhere which were very good. Our expectations were low because it was listed as a take-out but it was raining and we didn't want to travel about looking for another place. It was a birthday dinner for the old man (father/grandfather) in our group. We were very pleasantly surprised. We had seating in a quiet spot downstairs which was nice and the service and food were good.
