David's Bookshop is so much more than a book shop. As well as books they also have a music shop where you can by new and second hand CD's and vinyl. They also have a coffee shop where you can get drinks and snacks. It's a really nice place to have a mooch about looking for books and music and then once you have completed your purchase then you can pay for it and get a drink to treat yourself for your new purchases. The prices of the drinks and snacks are very reasonable so it is the perfect place to visit.

An Aladdin's Cave of literature and music. An amazing array of books both new and old on a million different subjects. A children's area with lovely books and drawing materials. Then you discover a real record shop with lots of vinyl to chose from and more.... Visited with my family and had to work hard to get myself and them to leave as it was so interesting.

Good hot chocolate for the soul. Not too rich, and can be beautifully served with whipped cream and marshmallows. Family friendly, great for casual dates or coffee with friends. Will always come back here for the immaculate vibes this café has. Very well decorated, clean and with friendly staff

Great little cafe and bookstore which allows pets also. Coffee is well made if a little slow to serve however the seating is comfortable and one can also browse books also. My only criticism is on the prices of the cakes which are too high for the sizes of the portions.

I had just bought an eclectic selection of very well priced books and fancied a coffee in their air conditioned cafe. The cappuccino was very good and my partner had a cold elderflower presse with ice and a good slice of Victoria sponge. The service was polite and prompt. It gave me an opportunity to peruse my purchases in comfy pleasant surroundings.. I visited on a Sunday so there were no parking restrictions. If you are looking for a good book or a decent snack and a drink I can happily recommend David's

I just have to say that the toasties here are excellent. Made with “real” bread, beautifully crisp on on the outside and my cheese and onion was wonderfully melted and cooked on the inside. Perfection as indeed is the coffee! Can’t post a picture cause I ate it all up 😊

I've recently started going to Letchworth for look round and grab a coffee ect, walked past David's on few occasions and have always been intrigued by the 3 shop fronts it occupies, well curiosity got the better and I wondered in, and oh my god!! This place is absolutely amazing, its huge and its packed to the brim with what ever book you can imagine, from new best authors to new authors yet to be fully appreciated, and not forgetting the 2nd hand books too, im sure amongst all this books you will find a lost gem, just as I did!! And now I'm the verry happy owner! But it doesn't stop there! I cant list it all because there is so much to see After 1 hour of browsing I stopped with my purchase at David's cafe adjoining the book shop and enjoyed another decent beverage My advice is get in there and enjoy David's as it the only one like it you wont be disappointed

Decided to have our lunch today in Letchworth. We were not going out but needed to visit the Wonderful Hospice shop Letchworth, it was while there we decided to cross road to David's Book shop café. We have been there many times for coffee and cake but a light lunch the first. Whilst their menu is not vast you can choose from the chilled counter. We both chose a different panini with salads. The only fault if it can be called a fault the coffee came before the meal. Not a problem covered the coffee with saucer. The meal was lovely could not fault, not a massive salad but pretty good and well toasted , it was just right for a light lunch. their coffee is the best in Letchworth. Very pleased with meal and cost. We will go back and would recommend , oh and having such a great charity shop opposite makes a visit worth while. Enjoy both.

David's Bookshop, has been the social hub of Letchworth Garden City, since the 1970s. David's Bookshop Cafe, builds on that same community spirit, which all good Letchworthians value and aspire to. The baristas and staff at the establishment are kind, open and take time to chat. The espresso coffee is par excellence and the food is wholesome; the epitome of great nibbles. I can highly recommend the blind baked (twice-baked) shortcrust pastry quiche, prepared and baked in-house. David's Bookshop Cafe is an incredible place.
