Dave cooked for my husband and I and our 18 guests at our wedding in Cornwall. Throughout the whole process Dave was extremely professional and clear on what he could offer us on the day and what the prices were which is extremely helpful when planning a wedding. Dave cooked canapés for after our ceremony which were all delicious, the duck bon bons were a real hit! Everything was delicious and on time. The wedding breakfast was absolutely fantastic, the food was top quality and you can tell a lot of effort and love went into cooking all dishes. Our guests could not stop raving on about the food and even told us it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Dave also prepared for us an evening buffet which was equally as amazing and again the quality of all the food really was impeccable, I could not fault anything. The wine pairing that he suggested was also excellent and really added that little bit extra to the wedding breakfast. Aside from being a brilliant chef, Dave himself is so easy to talk to, puts you at ease, very professional but also brings his energetic and fun personality too which is wonderful to have on your wedding day. I cannot express how thankful we are to Dave and his team for everything they did on our wedding day. If you are even thinking about booking Dave for your wedding or any other event, just do it! You will not be disappointed. A massive thank you to Dave and his wonderful team for everything you did for us on our special day, we really appreciate it!

Dave and his assistant Paige cooked a very special five course meal for my father's 70th birthday whilst we were on holiday in Cornwall. From first contact Dave was super friendly, enthusiastic and clearly explained the process of booking. There were ten of us in total, including 4 children and he prioritised their needs just as much as the rest of us. On the day he and Paige arrived in good time and nothing was too much trouble. We had the most delicious food all sourced locally and Dave described each course which really added to the experience. They joined in the (slightly tipsy) fun with very good humour and left the kitchen spotlessly clean. In all it was an exceptional meal and something I really hope to experience again!

Dave Sargent and his assistant Fiona cooked a birthday celebration dinner for 6 of us at our holiday rental in Devon. The food was absolutely amazing and Dave took the time to explain every dish to us. The canapés he served while we were having champagne were delicious. They were great company to have around and it made for a very special evening. I would definitely recommend his services.

Came for the mother in laws birthday in our cottage/villa whatever you’d like to call it. Food was exceptional and were served by Paige who was very polite and accommodating. Dave explained the origin of each dish and exactly where the produce had come from which was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend to anybody thinking of booking somebody similar. We struck gold discovering Dave Sargent when we visited Cornwall to celebrate Mums 90th birthday back in her homeland. Dave looked after all our needs and took the stress out of cooking for our large family over 3 days and every one of them loved the food. We choose traditional British classics and Dave delivered food on another level, his pastry is magnificent and absolutely everything was just delicious!! Dave is an incredible chef, extremely professional, friendly and totally fabulous! Thank you to Fiona too, another diamond. We also have a family connection which it made it doubly special to share our weekend with Dave. We’ll see you again if not in Cornwall then definitely in Yorkshire 🥰

Post lock down, we hired a house for a party of 9 friends and wanted to do something special. We decided, to hire a private chef would be a great way to celebrate and spent time researching. Dave arrived, introduced himself and his assistant, creating great rapport, which put us all at ease and set us up for a truly memorable experience. Dave prepared a fantastic meal which everyone enjoyed. He took care of everything from prepping, cooking, serving drinks and left the kitchen spotless. All food was locally sourced. Would highly recommend and would definitely use again

Amazing birthday celebration meal for 11. Food delicious and service and interaction with Dave and Claire the waitress was perfect. One of the best things was how hassle free it all was for me - Dave makes menu suggestions and tweaks for dietary requirements, turned up bang on time despite a storm raging outside, found his way around the kitchen and cleared and washed up afterwards. I would highly recommend for a special occasion!

Dave cooked a three course meal and canapes for 11 adults and 4 children for our Golden Wedding party. From the outset, Dave was easy to deal with, calm and professional. He has flexible menu options to choose from, and is equally flexible about timing and venue. The food was absolutely delicious, enjoyed by all from the youngest aged 6 to myself the oldest! Dave' and his staff set up the table, served all the food and drink and cleared all away afterwards. A memorable evening!

Dave created a superb menu for our group of friends celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday. He and his team dressed the table and provided a relaxing, yet efficient waitered service with absolutely delicious, locally sourced and artistically created dishes. Dave you may not have known it but you were cooking for some esteemed professional people who have eaten in some of the finest restaurants in the world and the comments I received about how delicious the food was, should make you very proud - I was delighted to have found you and the ladies you had helping you last night. Thank you very, very much for a wonderful evening.

Dave cooked for our stag group last night and absolutely nailed it. Delicious food, we were really impressed. Also brought a really professional waiting team with him who were great. We really enjoyed ourselves, thanks a lot!

Dave catered for 8 adults and 3 children at a Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration at our holiday rental in Wiltshire. The food was excellent - cooked perfectly. Our children enjoyed it hugely too, which is some achievement. Dave was a perfect host - entertaining and engaging, but also discreet. And Claire, his assistant, was delightful and efficient. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Hired Dave to create, cook and serve us dinner in our holiday rental cottage nr Gunnislake, Tamar Valley and so glad we did. Dave is a talented chef, uses seasonal top quality produce and delivers a great service in an informal and relaxed setting. Nothing was too much trouble, even offering to walk the puppy whilst we enjoyed our dinner. Dave came on two occasions to cook us dinner and each course was beautifully presented and cooked. Dave is also very knowledgeable on produce from the Cornwall, Devon region and it was great to get to know him and his food. Highly recommended.

My mother's 70th - Dave was brilliant to communicate with - you can mix and match his menus to suit your group's tastes. He has a very easy manner and was very comfortable be around. He served us delicious canapes to start. The main courses were superb as were the puddings. He left the kitchen immaculate. I would definitely recommend Dave as an alternative to going out to a restaurant - staying in and being cooked for made for a very relaxing and enjoyable evening.

Wanting to celebrate a big birthday but unable to go out for the evening due to having 3 small grandsons, who do you call? Chef Dave Sargent of course! What a lovely meal we had cooked by Dave who is a lovely, gentle man with a calm demeanour and great fun to have around. The 6 course taster menu was all delicious and beautifully presented, 3 types of canapés, lobster bisque which was divine, pan fried sea bream with a crayfish sauce and purple sprouting broccoli, a cooling lemon & lime granita, duck breast with an asian salad and a salted caramel chocolate mousee. Dave and his assistant Fiona served the wine and the dinner was at our own pace with a pause to put the little ones to bed! The kitchen was spotless when they left and the whole evening was relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable.

We enjoyed a wonderful celebratory meal prepared by Dave, who is delightful with an easy manner, at a holiday home in Dorset on Easter Sunday. He had been really helpful by email and on the phone in advance when we discussed and chose the menu. On the day, Dave and Fiona, who was working with him, unobtrusively cooked and served our dinner - fantastic canapés, tuna carpaccio amuse bouche and 3 delicious courses (we had chosen sea bream which was fresh and beautifully cooked). Everything was washed up and left spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.

My family used Chef Sargies service a couple of times while staying in a holiday let. First of all we had him deliver a finger buffet which was really hearty and sorted us out for snacks the next day too. He used quite a lot of local produce and it was all really tasty and well balanced generous portions. We had him back a few days later to prepare a sit down course meal which really was excellent. The dishes were prepared and presented very professionally so everyone was served their courses at the same time which was great considering we had ordered several different courses. He's a top bloke who interacts well with his clients/guests and I would happily recommend to anyone, or use his service again myself when in the area.

Stargie cooked a wonderful meal for our wedding reception in Bude; he was so friendly and accommodating and so were all his staff. The food was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The Sea Bass was gorgeous - my favourite, everyone kept coming back for second helpings. We whole heartedly recommend him and his team. Thank you so much Sargie.

Dave's attention to detail is second to none. Our dinner for 100 people was wonderfully planned and beautifully presented. Service by his family and others was excellent. All tastes and allergies were accommodated. Wish I had another occasion to celebrate so I could call in Dave again.

We had Dave come and cook for my 70th birthday. The food was amazing especially the duck . Each course was a taste sensation. We always had a quick response to our requests and emails . We can not recommend him highly enough.

We hired the services of chef sargie for a family dinner for my parents 40th wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect, and straight forward; from the planning of the menu to the night itself. The food was absolutely delicious! Dave was friendly and welcoming, but also descrete in leaving us to just enjoy ourselves, and the kitchen was left spotless!

Hired Dave and his waitress for a 10 person evening meal. Absolutely fabulous food and service at a very reasonable price. Excellent quality food, superbly presented. Helpful, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us from setting the table to clearing up. (Even took photos of us all mid-cooking!). Thank you Dave.

We have just returned from a family weekend in Devon where undoubtedly the highlight of our stay was Sargies amazing food. 6 adults had a wonderful three course meal experience at the farmhouse we had rented, including the best sticky toffee pudding I think I have ever tasted! Having a chef and waitress deal with every aspect of our evening meal was a really special treat, definitely a new experience for us and absolutely one we would repeat, especially given the incredible value for money the service provided. Thank you Sargies, we can’t recommend your service highly enough.
