One of the best bakeries around. The pasties and pies are always of the best quality and very tasty indeed

Meaty Pattie, traditional or special pasty, sausage roll whatever you choose is going to be good but get there early to avoid disappointment

The pasties are always good and consistent. Disappointed they did not have large pasty at 15.00, but a medium one did the job.

I purchased a pasty from here for lunch a few months ago as it smelt lovely wafting up the high street. I had been in there a couple times previously to purchase a cake or sausage roll for my children but never purchased a pasty so thought I’d try on. At the time I was heavily pregnant so was glad of not having to make lunch myself! Not too long after I ate it I instantly regretted it, I started to feel rather ill. Turns out I ended up with food poisoning! Needless to say I will never spend a penny in there again or in fact recommend the place...

Tasty pasties, never had a cold one! Their pasties are decently sized and fill you up a lot more than you'd think! Totally suggest it when you are feeling a bit chilly and under the weather.

Dashers is a great place to get a pasty or freshly made roll to take away. They also offer cakes. The prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly and helpful

Although known as a pasty biased bakery, the pasties are still not that great, whether of the Cornish or Devon or national stereotype variety. Other things like basic White rolls are not bad. Worth picking them up and stuffing them with cheese, cold meat etc...

This is a bakery which sells pasties, situated in the high street and provides freshly made pasties, ideal for a quick lunch. But this is a bakery and not a restaurant, take away food available only.

I visited Dashers while on holiday in Cornwall with my family. We were extremely disappointed with the pasties, they were bland and needed more seasoning. The gentleman who served us was very grumpy and maybe in need of some customer service training. Definitely would not buy from there again.

Although I do love my pasties (I should have been Cornish) I was less than impressed with the pasty I purchased when passing through Torpoint. The pasties were bland, the pastry was a little too thick, the overriding taste of suede left a lasting impression on my palette and there was a distinct lack of seasoning also. It is a shame as I was expecting a good local pasty (judging by some of the reviews on here) and they failed to deliver. Barnecutts in Liskeard will be my choice in the future as they always produce higher than expected products regarding taste and variety.

Not sure why they don't review the recipe and the bake. The pasties here just don't match up to traditional or modern expectations.

Dashers were said to be THE Torpoint pasties but the ones we tried were disappointing. Knot as bad as Ginsters or Dewdneys but just lacking any flavour or real taste. Can't help thinking that a small amount of thought and adjustment, particularly to the seasoning, would make a heap of difference.

Called in for portable hot food on our way to watch rugby nearby. Guy on the ferry said Dashers were famous and the best local pasties. We bought eight meat pasties but with the exception of one enthusiastic ravenous child the general response was disappointed. They are not very tasty. Whether it's the quality of the ingredients or the amount or lack of enough salt and pepper or maybe they had been kept standing hot for too long and were overlooked and drying out. None of us are bakers or cooks. We just didn't enjoy them.

Not what I would regard as real Cornish pasties but not too far off. Torpoint is after all almost Devon. Like others I wonder about the seasoning, but also the texture of the pastry. Some people like the pastry, others just like to pull the crust off and eat the rest but I like pasties which are long and can be cut across the width and shared between three or more. None of that here.

the pasties at dashers are nice but not the best. they are cheap, I know a place called the shop in the square in cawsand and dashers supplies the pasties to them and they charge and extra £2 compared to dashers.

Disappointing lack of flavour to the pasties. Perhaps they could do an informal friendly consultation or just ask the customers. Fear of over salting was an issue in British cooking a few years ago but a mastery of basic seasoning is essential to tasty food.

These were not "Quality Fish & Chips". The chips were dry and overcooked. The fish was miniscule and the batter was thick, undercooked, and mostly raw. Would be hard to make it any worse. Disgusting!

My wife and I and our 3 Labrador pups called in here today for lunch whilst on holiday. OMG the fish & chips were amazing. The cod was so fresh and cooked to perfection it was mouth watering. The lady who served us was a shining example to all retail staff, her politeness and attitude toward us was a throw back to the great British values long past and forgotten. We ate on the tables outside and seeing we had our hands full with our 3 labs she so kindly bought our cups of tea out to us then went in and found a plastic container and filled it with cold water and bought it out for our dogs and as if that wasn't enough she then returned with 3 cooked sausages for them one each. Now during a busy lunch service if that isn't going above and beyond then i don't know what is. The lady is a legend in our eyes in this crazy world we live in where kindness and respect has long gone she has renewed our faith in humanity. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting or living in Newquay the food is amazing and the service is fantastic. Priceless in our eye's. Richard & Suzanne 🇬🇧😊👍

We were too late for our usual chippy and very hungry so thought we'd try Penwithick again after a few years...What a mistake! £22 for 2 pieces of thin fish in slimy half cooked tasteless batter with chips that were so spale and soggy they were practically inedible! I'm not sure how it's possible to get fish and chips so wrong and it was only when I got the sickly aftertaste did I remember they cook using beef fat which is why we stopped going there before although I don't remember the food being sooo bad!
