Incredibly friendly people and delicious food! 10/10 would recommend the scones they were phenomenal!

Stopped off in Stirling for lunch as we drove up to the Highlands from Yorkshire. It was busy but we were welcomed and seated straight away. Our dog was offered a drink and snacks and then we were given the menu, that's exactly how I like it to be. The food was great, sandwich and soup and toastie and soup, all clearly home made and ttasty. Lots of friendly atmosphere. Really glad we found it. Would recommend.

Friendly staff, delicious food and fair prices. We had baked potatoes with side salad and soup, mushroom sandwich with side salad, coffee, tea and walnut and coffee cake. Thanks guys!

💯 A quiet and simple place, in a pretty old stone building seemingly steeped in history, near the castle. You can meet very friendly and welcoming staff there. The cooked potatoes, side dishes, salad, raw vegetables and toasts are excellent. We feel that they make a point of making the dishes “homemade”. Special mention to the pickle compote 😉. A perfect address to recharge your batteries, while taking a quiet break, before hitting the Scottish roads again! I recommend 1000%

Heard via YouTube about the best soup in Scotland so tried a take away portion whilst bike riding past. Carrot and honey and it was indeed a very good tasty portion for £2.50

Fantastic place for soup lovers especially; loving the Sweet Potato, Chilli and Coconut and the Split Pea, Roasted Tomato with Basil Soup! It is always packed but you feel no pressure of having to quickly gobble your food down..

Darnley’s is a wonderful little cafe. We ordered split pea and pepper soup with seeded bread. I got the Brie, bacon and chutney toastie (panini) and hubby got smoked salmon sandwich. The food was excellent! I also ordered a pot of herbal tea as they have several good flavors to choose from.

Friendly and welcoming, delicious unique soups, great choice of coffees and tasty toasties too. Our dog Tilly was warmly welcomed too, and spoilt with treats.

Very traditional cafe, nice feeling one can enjoy in a vintage building. However, they only serve filter coffee and one other type of coffee, no late or Americano or cappuccino. However, I would recommend this place as the coffee was nice and staff were helpful.

Arrived with my partner for coffee and a quick bite to eat before touring Stirling Castle. Great value for money and the food was excellent. The staff were very good too. Lovely wee place with a low vaulted ceiling, in keeping with the local area. Popular with locals and tourists, and pet friendly. While we were with a couple were in with their dog, and the staff supplied treats and a bowl of water for the dog. They also have vegan and gluten free options.

The food was beyond our expectations. Lots of choice on the menu and everything is made from scratch - try the homemade jams and cordials. Staff were lovely and friendly. A great place to go on the way to the castle.

We had booked for 3.30 - all the soups were finished so toasties were the order of the day. Really tasty and excellent tea and coffee. Chocolate fudge cake to finish, yum!

Set in a house with rich historic associations - decor is properly plain but the food and drinks are creative, especially the home made fruit cordials which are a real treat. Service is OK but not specially attentive - they don't check much and you need to grab the attention of someone who is passing. The food is good with a number of options for each type, freshly prepared and nicely presented. Definitely a good choice for a light meal while exploring the historic centre of the city.

My husband and I traveled to Stirling for our honeymoon three years ago, and we ate at Darnley house three times while we were there. To this day whenever it is raining outside, we say how badly we wish we could be there. Such a relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, great food (I really enjoyed the baked potato), and the best soup we have ever eaten in our lives. Seriously. I would make the trip across the ocean in a heartbeat for that soup again!

Darnley Coffee house is such a lovely place. They do the best soup I've ever had there and have great gluten free and vegan options. Lots of home made choices too. It has a very welcoming atmosphere and allows dogs which is so cute, I love their dog Instagram. Definitely recommend going there!

First visit for lunch while staying at the nearby Stirling Highland Hotel. Nice quirky surroundings and good Covid safety measures in place.Food was excellent and well presented however we were very disappointed that after our main course no-one came near us to clear our dirty plates or ask us if we wanted anything else. We were desperate to try some of the cakes on offer but after a 15 minute wait decided that we couldn't wait any longer.Disappointing but it would not deter us visiting again.

They do the best soup and toastie in town also serving an amazing selection of homemade cordials.

Sympathique petit salon de thé à Sterling. Bon accueil et produits du jardin. Salade et soupe très bonnes. Pot de café et toasts maison. Pour pas cher . C'est très scotish.

La hija de mi pareja vino al norte de visita para probar mi reseña del pastel de carne de David. Por supuesto, estaba totalmente justificado. Yo, sin querer presionar a nadie, opté por el abadejo maltratado. ¡Perfecto! Seguido de mi crujiente de toffee de chocolate favorito, ¡inigualable! Mi compañero optó por el stroganoff de ternera, excepcional, su crumble y natillas recordaban a la guardería. Lamentablemente, algunas personas han interpretado la iniciativa de comer fuera para ayudar como "todo lo que pueda comer", sin la necesidad de terminar los platos. Triste, pero no se puede legislar para los estúpidos.

We found this by chance as we were seeking refuge from the pouring rain for a cup of coffee. What a fun d! Great coffee and delicious carrot cake. Tried to return later for lunch but it was full. 😕

El servicio fue amable y perfectamente sincronizado. La comida era deliciosa y a un precio razonable. Es asombroso cuántos lugares ni siquiera pueden cocinar una papa asada, pero no aquí. El relleno de pollo y mayonesa de limón y estragón estaba lleno de ingredientes frescos. La ensalada estaba bien vestida y el café era bueno. Trajeron agua para nuestro perro. Los amables camareros fueron la guinda del pastel. ¡Perfecto!

Good lunch menu with very tasty soups and well filled sandwiches being our choice. The apple cake was superb as was the chocolate fudge cake. Excellent choice of Thomson's coffees or pots of tea. Tables are well distanced and kept sanitised between customers. I will certainly be back.
