Darjeeling Indian Restaurant in Bexley

Food was disappointing. Too salty, sweet - Lamb was tough, had been put into a very sweet, red food color curry sauce. Flat square pieces of tough meat obviously not cooked in the sauce. Lamb chops were also tough & slightly going off. I don't understand why these Restaurants are now so, so bad. Where are the great cooks of yester - year. Left most of the meal. Won't be Back.

Needed a quick meal before work as I was away from home. Can't fault anything, food was prompt and very tasty. I will be back next time I am in the area.

Absolutely blown away by the authentic Indian cuisine from Darjeeling in Sidcup! Every dish was a bangin flavour, and the quality was topnotch. It impressed me most the care taken by the restaurant itself in delivering my food. It arrived hot and fresh, packaged perfectly. I didn't have a tip ready as was gonna do on uber so apologies, but this experience has definitely earned my loyalty. Can't wait to order again! Was well nice. Madras, chips, keema naan and cauliflower bhagi with chips. Was amazing thanks.

Small restaurant so feels personal and intimate. Customer service could use some work. Finished our poppadoms before even seeing a menu. Food is great. Peshwari naan in particular. Cashew Korma was tasty and something not found everywhere. Good menu selections. 6 people with beer and wine, main course and half a side was £152 with No compulsory service charge added.

We ate there on a busy Saturday night. All enjoyed our food. staff very attentive in spite of how busy they were. Good job we booked, there wasn't a table to be had by 7.30.

The food in Darjeeling is amazing. I went to the restaurant with my friends on May 18th, 2024, at 8:00 PM. There were places for four people, but a man (around 55 years old) at the restaurant said there weren't any tables available and told us to come back after a few hours. A few minutes later, the restaurant staff offered us a place. However, we waited for more than half an hour, and no one came to take our order. It felt like we were begging for food. Why did your employees treat us this way? It felt like we were being discriminated against because we are Asian. The same man seemed to treat white customers much better. Is this how you treat your customers? Restaurant management needs to be aware of how their employees are treating customers. This ruined my birthday; it was the worst one I've ever had.

I recently dined at Darjeeling an Indian restaurant that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm, friendly service that set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with a tasteful blend of traditional Indian decor and modern touches. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the butter chicken. It was perfectly cooked, with tender pieces of chicken in a rich, creamy sauce that was bursting with flavor. The balance of spices was impeccable, making each bite a delightful experience. The naan bread served alongside was freshly baked, soft, and perfect for soaking up the delicious sauce. Other dishes we tried were equally impressive. The biryani was aromatic and full of depth, and the samosas were crispy on the outside and filled with a flavorful mixture of potatoes and peas. The variety on the menu caters to all tastes, with plenty of vegetarian options as well. The service throughout the meal was attentive and professional, with the staff providing excellent recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. Overall, Darjeeling restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates high-quality Indian cuisine. I highly recommend it, especially for the outstanding butter chicken.

I think the older gentleman could benefit from some additional training on providing excellent customer service. His approach to interacting with customers was somewhat unconventional and didn't quite align with my expectations. Perhaps a bit more guidance on effective communication and customer relations would be helpful.

Delicious food and customer service was very good

Firstly. I’ve been going to this restaurant for years. I travel an hour to get to it so please note it was good. But enough is enough, the last three visits have been disappointing. Poor service, hardly any meat in the dishes (bulked out with potatoes) and on Sat 16th March 24 stale poppadoms and the wrong rice. Twice complained and met with a rather negative response. My family and I are done and will find somewhere closer to home.

I ordered the chicken passanda, what arrived was small peices of chicken in a grainy red sauce, when I called the manager over he agreed it wasn't chicken passanda but chicken tandori passanda, not what I had ordered at all, he took it away and five minutes later brought the same dish back, the sauce had split and had the texture of porridge. My partner ordered the lamb chops, these were hard and overcooked and you could'nt even cut them with a knife and fork. The naan bread and rice were lovely but the main courses were shockingly bad. When you walk into a restaurant on a Friday at 7:30 and there are only 8 diners there you know something is wrong,

Unfortunately the owner refuses to take any form of constructive feedback and would rather lose customers permanently instead. It’s a shame I ordered two pathetic attempts of butter chicken and ended up with rotten grainy paste with shavings of old chicken and the owner refusing to accept his mistakes. He was polite until he asked where I was from, then realised I’m Indian and know a thing or two about a half decent curry. Naan was good though. Let the photos speak for itself.

Can't fault this place, food is always excellent, never had a bad meal since coming here. The staff are always extremely welcoming and accommodating, they are more than happy to offer recommendations when you're unsure on what to have(chicken bhuna is always great). Whatever you have you won't be disappointed.

Nice food, they made a special meal for me, king prawn chadni massala, as I like coconut cream instead of tomato sauce and not too spicy, I also don't eat meat. My partner had chicken balti, coconut cashew nut rice as sides, poppadoms as entry with 4 dips, coconut naans, yammy. Excellent service, we will be back, thank you!

The staff at Darjeeling are always so attentive, not to mention the delicious food. My personal favourite is the Pani Puri. This is by far our favourite restaurant in Sidcup, and we will continue to support this restaurant regularly.

You need to go here and try the garlic chilli chicken it’s the best! I’ve lived Sidcup for about 9 years now and tried all the local curry houses and this is by far the best one!!!!

We've been visiting here for over 10 years and wouldn't go anywhere else locally. The food served is of a very high quality and the service is great, nothing is too much trouble.

POOR, please stay away. I dined alone on Monday at 9.15 pm. Walk in, the older waiter did not acknowledge me, very rude, showed me a table to sit after I made an eye contact. Took 10 minutes to bring the menu and another 10 minutes to taken an order, the restaurant had a table of 6 (almost finished), a table of 4 mains being served. I ordered chicken chettinad, tadka dal, rice and a roti. I never tasted so disgusting chicken dish, it was raw dry chilli powder spice and not cooked, Dal was tasteless, roti very hard, rice a mediocre portion. I had a terrible upset stomach next day as the spices were not cooked, this won’t happen in any good Indian restaurants as the base masalas are properly cooked. I originally come from india and I know my Indian food. I wanted to give business to local restaurants and I chose to eat at this place and not anymore I would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends who go out and dine a lot. Please don’t call this place an Indian restaurant. Name some thing else. I chose not to complain on that night as this won’t change the way they cook.

V good food served in a timely and professional manner. Good place to go but music can be loud and tables in the corners are a bit cramped. Goof value, good food and good service.

The food is very good and pretty spicy which we like. The service and ambience is average. It's all about the food!

Very disappointed. Watery sauce and tough chicken

Another great meal. Service great. The young waiter a little nervous and still learning but his service of my king prawn shaslick was first class. The restaurant was buzzing with a great mix from first dates, people using BSL to communicate (no I wasn't watching) and old farts like me.

was a great meal. But went to restaurant in December with my friend for the special banquet night. The staff were very rude and not friendly. They brought drinks to table and then said they are not doing banquet night in December. Even though the LED sign was showing it up outside and they refused.They phoned the owner and he said no. So we left. Bit of a shame as just moved here. Then we thought we had shot ourself in the foot. But we have found a restaurant with fantastic food all the staff have great customer service. And if you try them speak to Big Man He will spoil you wrotten 20 percent off take aways as well. They are called Currie Mahal Station Road Sidcup you couldnt beat them

Disappointed with our local as we used to be regulars. The last couple of times we thought we would try it again. Meat is really poor quality, rice was saturated in fat leaving a pool of water with the sauce. Naan breads were cold and lacked any flavour. Drink was forgotten. It’s a shame because the staff are lovely but the food has just deteriorated.

My nearest Indian restaurant that happens to be best in Sidcup and I've tried them all. Looks like an average restaurant from outside but go in and order to experience the difference. They have an extensive menu with both standard and special dishes but what I really like is the staff's willingness to customise their dishes on request. The menu stands up well against Central London gourmet restaurants like Dishoom and Chutney Mary. Normally have a weekly takeaway with occasional dining in. Highly recommended.

Stayed at the travel lodge in sidcup for two days got this place recommended to me and wasn't let down the food is not only amazing its fresh and piping hot, It's also nicely priced would 100% recommend shame its not in my home town thanks for two great dinners

EXCELLENT food, best curry I’ve had (and I’ve had a few!) The service here is brilliant, Islam, Abs and the team really went out of their way and looked after us! Can’t recommend this restaurant enough!

We have been after a new favourite after our regular closed and after many months searching we have now found it. After a tiny hiccup with the pre-order service, food arriving a couple of hours early, but quickly resolved Our food (chicken vindaloo and Jalf) was amazing and will be returning. I’m sold. Thanks

Tried this for the first time as I like going to all the local Indian restaurants. Was one of the top ones for me and it showed by it being reasonably busy on a Tuesday evening, clearly everyone else rates it too. Service was good too, with the waiters being friendly and easy to grab their attention.
