Lovely food, the burger is to die for.

Really impressive pub/restaurant, good quality food and very tasty. Had to try the black pudding fritters...they just weren't black puddingy enough!! Not really worth losing one star over....sorry. Looking forward to the new pizza oven outside and live music in summer!

AMAZING!!!!! Staff are so kind and polite! I am Colins daughter but that is not why i say its great! Staff are always so kind and food NEVER lacks anything. Drinks always come very quickly after I've asked and lovely gang of regulars too! Bands during the summer are great and can't wait for the pizza oven to start up again!

Decent local pub! It's super friendly and welcoming, plus it's dog-friendly, which is a big win for me. There's free parking and a decent size beer garden. Also, the burgers are massive! Perfect spot to unwind on the weekend.

Called in on off chance. We were immediately made to feel welcome including our dog. My partner had a special cocktail for Valentine's, which was super, so much so, she had a second. We both had a starter which was excellent. Good selection of wines. Will definitely be back. Pubs like this need our support in these times.

Great food and a fantastic selection of ales and beers

I love this pub and I don,t know why as my first vist was not a spectacular success. The food is very good well above average. The beer is also good with a wide choice and I have never had a bad pint. The Tuesday pub quiz is brilliant and often the pub is full and it's great fun. The staff are very welcoming and helpful there is nothing negative about this pub. A great place to have a pint.

What a cracking night and lovely pub. 30 of us came for our Christmas do and had a brilliant time. All of the food was amazing and came out with just enough time between courses to enjoy it. If you live in Swanton Morley you are so lucky to have this pub close. After the meal some of us went to the bar which had a great atmosphere apart from one guy calling over to me calling me 'old guy'... On balance he has a point! 🤣. Brilliant night and great vibe. It's only 16 mins from home so we will be back 👍🏼🙂

Called in today with no booking for a Sunday roast and it really was delicious . My husband and I had the pork belly and my daughter the beef . The pork was flavoursome and tender and the accompanying roasted veg, cauli cheese and red cabbage were so good. Portions were generous and I couldn’t finish my meal, despite having just run a half marathon . Daughter happily polished off my Yorkshire . A great Sunday roast destination .

Lovely pub restaurant. Really nice welcoming environment and friendly staff. The service was great, the menu is varied and the food was really good. The portion sizes are generous. A lovely Saturday lunch. Lots of parking which is a bonus.

Went in for a meal with my wife Carol, the food was ok however. Absolutely terrible service, the bar owner was rude and impolite and swore, we will not be coming back. Do not recomend to anybody. James.

The pub has changed hands multiple times over the years. Our last visit the food was poor, but seeing as it had a new owner again we gave it a go. The food is okay, nothing special, but small portions and certainly overpriced. Much better on paper than in my mouth. The pub itself is lovely and a good selection of good beers.

Great roast dinners here today one beef and one pork belly with a great mix of veg, lovely flavours, much better quality than a carvery and under £20 each. Friendly staff also. Thanks guys, will return at some point this week 👍

Saturdays are live music, which is always fun. Last Wednesday of each month is World food night and the food has been excellent and authentic to date. Lovely pub. Good atmosphere. Amazing food.

Came for dinner on a Friday night, so nice to see a local pub so busy with a great atmosphere! Clearly look after their locals but also give great service to diners. The pork belly was AMAZING, my brother said “probably the nicest I’ve ever had” 😊 Quick and friendly on all service and will definitely be back soon Thank you for a lovely evening!

Last minute booking for a late (3.30pm) Sunday roast. Highly recommend the later option; the pub was busy, but we had the restaurant almost to ourselves with impeccable food and service. Delicious beef with loads of veg and all the trimmings (£17.95) followed by light and yummy sticky toffee pud. Up there with the best Sunday roast anywhere in Norfolk.

Popped in today for lunch, drink in the garden first and then ordered scampi and chips and pork belly roll with black pudding, really nice and good portion size, recommended.

Excellent food, brilliant staff - a great meal all round. My partner has coeliac disease and so needs a strict gluten free diet - the menu contained a number of gluten free options and the waitress went through each dish with the chef and came back with a handwritten gluten free menu list. They really went above and beyond! I’d highly recommend this place if you’re in the area. We’d definitely go back

Very good and dog friendly in the bar. Busy with a good atmosphere. We all ordered different dishes and they were all very good. Definitely recommend.

After a walk in cold conditions a table near a roaring fire was hard to resist. Good service and decent food coupled with an excellent selection of well priced ale. You also get the odd oddball local as well ( and we live here!). Really hope the new managers make a go of this place.

As soon as we where about to sat down a worker came over and accused us of throwing bark at kids saying he had proof and seen us on camera doing it last week even though we hadn’t been since last year and one of us was in France he was certain it was us then when we told him after a bit of convincing he left without an apology then when serving us he asked us where we where from in a hostile manor ruined are day so we left without ordering food

Proper pub atmosphere with absolutely delicious food. The starch portions were a little meager so, obviously, my dad was still hungry after. Prices were more in the "dining" range rather than "pub lunch". Rugby was on in the other room so felt lively as cheers would occasionally fill the adjacent room.

One of my favourite pubs, it’s not local but I go here as often as I can. The food is fresh and delicious and not over priced. The outside area is brilliant especially in the summer time, it has a big enclosed area for the children including a zip wire. Inside has a cosy proper pub feel. When we went last week we were made to feel really welcome (even though we’re not locals). Some pubs round here you walk in and the whole pub turns round to see who’s dared enter! The only downside to this place is that it’s not in walking distance. They look like they have a great selection of drinks, just a shame I’m always driving.

Food was pretty mediocre compared to what it was hyped up to be. Table layout not conducive to a large social group Christmas meal - L shape meant that we had people with their backs to others and left out of conversations.

Had an amazing pub quiz night here! When we were invited for a quiz and pie, I was expecting a quiz and classic microwave pie job - not delicious artisan pies and a very slick pub quiz to match! Would definitely come again, it was excellent.

Delivered the annual firework display for Darby's this year, fab pub with great food.

Recently under new management, the quality of food has been fantastic. We have eaten dinner (where the menu choices are excellent) as well as Sunday roast in the past month and both were brilliant. Staff friendly and quick. The bar area seems more spacious than previously and the garden will be excellent in the summer with outdoor beer taps. Dog friendly which is a big plus in my book. Warm and welcoming for all, families, couples etc. Great local beers as well as your normal brands.

Brilliant pub. Popped in today before a wedding. It was a lovely setting with a great garden. Service was excellent too absolutely cannot fault it. Poor planning resulted in us being busy drinking great beer and realising we didn't have a taxi booked to the wedding venue 2 miles away. The landlord, far too kindly, got us to the wedding venue. Absolutely above and beyond. Will definitely be back.

The food, the beer, the inside, the outside, the staff…. It all adds up to a highly recommended destination. The food is incredible good and definitely value for money. I had the calves’ liver followed by the sticky toffee and every element of these dishes worked to make every mouthful a delight. I’m really looking forward to going back.

A nice selection of beers and food. Slightly shy on veggie food options but adequate. Clean, tidy, swift service and all at a fair price. We will return.

Such an excellent night at Darbys this evening. Thank you. The new owners really understand hospitality and the food, beer and environment prove this. What’s more (and a rarity nowadays) is the staff are excellent, super attentive- and happy!! We shared a wood fired pizza as well as some things from the main menu. My husband asked if we could do half and half (as in toppings) and the pizza peeps didn’t batter an eyelid and just did it- and created a superb pizza delivered on a wooden paddle within minutes of ordering. Definitely try the Blue and Black Pizza- it’s a game changer. Awesome atmosphere tonight in the garden listening to live music and seeing so many children running around enjoying the vast play area, and large, safe garden space from sunset to starlit wide Norfolk skies. Cracking Norfolk village pub- can’t wait to visit again and see what else the new owners can bring to the table!

Excellent food, beautiful building and beer garden and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back again before we go back hone to Manchester.

We were part of a large group in a dinner club, we sat upstairs in a timbered room at two long tables. Service and food were excellent and we had a very enjoyable evening.

This place was a great find, the kids were entertained with the large play area while the adults got to chill and chat in the garden.

First time since the pub had been taken over. And wow the food was fantastic the burger I had was one of the best I have had for a while. My wife had the roast and she loved it. Great choice of beer . Lovely outside area with play park for the kids plus an outside restaurant for pizza etc. Staff were efficient and very friendly. Great stuff ..

Picked Quiz night and didnt realise the menu had been reduced so the offerings were slight. What we had was cooked well. Good childrens play area in the garden and clearly popular with its loyal locals

Went in twice during our stay, fri & sat evenings. Food looked good. I had the chips which were delicious. Drinks more pricey than your average local but it is a country pub in a lovely location. Huge outdoor area, stone baked pizza oven. Indoor dining too. Very dog friendly, our dog was made very welcome. Bar staff a little flapped at times but friendly. Shona was our fav, hard worker and friendly. Toilets clean. Parking out back. Will visit again next time we stay in the area.

First time visiting & being a Sat night extremely busy, all tables/seats outside taken, inside very busy/noisy- 2 bar staff looking very stressed & rushed off their feet, also lots of dogs that looked hot & distressed hoping their owners would drink up so they could retire to their peaceful dog beds! Food disappointing & average- portions small, chips undercooked! Bar & Waiting staff Excellent

Food is absolutely top drawer, the chips are another level and the chicken burger is amongst the best I have ever eaten! 😋

Won’t be going back, went for Sunday lunch not a carvery!! Being weather too hot …. but only offered hot food on the hottest day!! No salad options nor pasta very disappointed. Lack of vegan options too ! Get more options …. Will be passing on to friends not to bother

Only criticism was we had booked a table on line and also phoned on the day but they had no record of our booking We expected our booking to be reserved in the dining area not in the bar but fortunately they did find us a table in the dining area. Lovely pint, good menu , New management 2023 , Norfolk beers on tap, great food, dog friendly, with a beer garden

Really excited to return to a once much loved pub, what a disappointment no selection of draft beers only one bitter . Food could not have been prepped and cooked by a chef, handful of salad leaves grabbed from a bag with no dressing with goats cheese on top. Steak not prepped and salmon cremated! Staff need guidance and control both behind and in front of house.

We visited for a few drinks as we were staying locally in an Airbnb. We were aware food is not being served at the moment but will be back very shortly. Lovely atmosphere in the pub. We chatted to a local couple who were really pleasant. Quite small downstairs..didn't see upstairs. Garden closed off...not sure why? Dog friendly which is always a bonus for us with our elderly JRT. Water bowls outside. Hope it's a roaring success for them as it's in a small village.
