A flavour packed first visit that has left us wanting to try more! Both mains (lamb and duck) were plentiful and beautifully cooked. However, the salmon fishcakes stole the show! They were delicious, packed full of salmon and really hit the spot. This was our first visit but will certainly not be our last! A must try for those living in portishead!

Very tasty food, enjoyed every single dish. Really nice atmosphere, super friendly staff and chef. Great concept with sharing space. You can bring your own alcohol.

An absolute gem. Just a small cafe by day but in the evenings Kid produces a fantastic range of really tasty Malaysian dishes. It’s BYOB so that saves a few £ as well (no corkage charge either)

Came here a few weeks ago with friends who had been before and really enjoyed it. Small and intimate venue. No frills. Lovely waitress and Kid is lovely (chef) I'm not massively adventurous with my food but really enjoyed vegetable spring rolls for starter and chicken stir fry for main (asked for noodles instead of rice .... not a problem) and HUGE bonus it's BYO! Coming again Saturday with 2 other friends :)

Really enjoyed this little place. The food was so tasty and I loved the environment and slower service. You can just enjoy and talk and have a small drink in between courses. Don't forger to bring your own wine :)!

Beef noodle soup: The noodles were inauthentic and heavily reminiscent of noodles you get in supermarkets on stir fry meal deals. The beef strips were dry and tasteless, reminded me again of deli counter prepacked beef from the supermarket. The curry sauce was diluted and underseasoned. Not pleasant for £13+ Cod Assam: The fish was well cooked and there was a generous portion. However, the sauce was extremely salty to the point we could not finish this dish. Roti canai: The roti was tasty and thin, not crispy but that's likely due to the delivery rather than the method. The dhal supplied would ideally have had a stronger flavour. Overall not the best value for money. I was left very disappointed with the mains. Next time we will try eating in-house in the hopes of a better experience.

We had such a nice time here. The food was amazing. You can taste the freshness from those dishes. We could taste that they were freshly made with really good quality of ingredients. I ordered King Prawn Sambal with Roti. It was pricey and really delicious. My husband ordered Chicken Kurma. It is mild and tasty. We ordered extra rice because it was just tooooooo delicious. The chef and the waitress were so friendly. We had nice chat. We will definitely go back again very soon.

Amazing! Fantastic meal all around. I had the Lamb and other in my party had the prawns and chicken and all very good. Would highly recommend and suggest going! And, it is BYOB or bring your own wine 🍷😍

Dined here this evening with a family member who has lived in Malaysia for many years. Fabulous authentic Malaysian cuisine. Would highly recommend.

This food is amazing! Kid is absolutely lovely, and the menu is small yet perfectly formed. The rotis are probably the best I’ve ever had, and the curries provide a warm spice with beautiful flavours. The service is personal and friendly. Definitely planning to go back and have recommended to all of our friends!

Sensational food, genuinely authentic Malaysian food, all fresh, fragrant and friendly atmosphere in this pop up restaurant. Please book in advance, 2 or 3 weeks to avoid disappointment, they are now booked up every Thurs Fri and Saturday. Brilliant to be using a cafe, closed in the evening to turn into a fabulous Malaysian restaurant. Definitely, come and try. It's not licenced so its BYO, so is fantastic value!

Just the most amazing flavoursome food. So nice to have such a great place on our doorstep, would highly recommend for an excellent meal.

Fantastic BYO Malaysian restaurant in Portishead - no corkage fees, great service and the very best Malaysian food I’ve eaten since living in Asia. Just superb, hope to become regulars !!!

Fantastic to have an authentic Malaysian restaurant here in our home town. Kid knows his cooking, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the new menu in December. (We’ve already had the pleasure of experiencing the amazing Beef Rendang- one of the best I’ve had outside of Malaysia ) It’s a BYO too, which makes it great value for money. Thanks Kid
