Dangal - Healthy Flavorsome Indian Cuisine in Edinburgh, City of

Ordered a takeaway from here a couple Of weeks ago. Food was lovely, there was an issue with the lateness but dangal have been very accommodating since and would definitely order and eat here again!

The food is great. However, the delivery time is always late and when you call up the restaurant a very RUDE man answers the call! I called to follow up on my order, to which the man answered would be delivered asap. DID NOT HAPPEN even after the time on the app had run out. Turns out they do not deliver before 3 pm but do start taking orders on the Uber Eats app way before that. Any dietary requirements if done through phone calls aren’t registered either.

Dangal is, to say the least, one of the best Chicken Biriyani making places in the entirety of Edinburgh. Their Chicken Biriyani is delicious, spicy and flavoursome. Furthermore, their portions are large enough to fill a bodybuilder!. The price is extemely reasonable in my opinion and I would recommend Dangal for their Chicken Biriyani. An amazing place !

Arrived at the end of a storm day, it was still open, that proved their reliability ! The decoration is ́lovely and service very nice (they were honest enough to told us that we were going to order too many sides). It is high quality food, very tasty with nice meat texture. Higly recommended

Okay, have you ever wanted something to eat but don't want the usual culprits, pizza ,burger,kebab..well then this is the solution. Also the prices for take away just now is wild ...this is again the solution ! So the food was cold on arrival,but what I will say is ,it was worth giving it a wee heat up, any other time I would have been annoyed,but first time for me ,it was worth heating it up and not calling to complain. So we ordered 2 wraps ,chips and onion bajis. The order was £19 with delivery, yep £19 !!!!! Look at the food. I woukd have taken the picture without eating it ,but i actually couldn't help it. The flavours are amazing, food is great fresh quality and definitely hit the spot at a great price. I would recommend 100% ,i have now found my favorite ! What a result

Found a piece of plastic in bhel puri.

Our rice was not delivered with our order and even after 2 phone calls, we still waited 50 minutes for them to arrive with the rice, by that time our curry was cold. We received no apology and no offer of any compensation for this error, staff told us to just microwave our curry. Poor customer service to be honest. Won't be ordering from here again.

Friday nights are considered a treat night, knackered and looking forward to some well cooked food from an experienced chef. Not the case. Firstly tried ordering a dish from the menu over the phone and was told that dish did not exist, clearly showing in the gallery of dishes listed Ok! Thought I’d try something different and ordered the lamb chops, highly recommend from the girl over the phone, (main meal). The picture showed at least four succulent lamb chops, two very small chops arrived and I could not cut into them, tough and overly charred. Not edible! Main lamb dish was dry with six very small pieces of lamb and luke warm nan bread. My estimate time of delivery was 40mins 1:15 later. Very disappointed. £24 pounds worse off.

Restaurant is very popular for takeaways. However, we went to dine in, and food tasted even better. Great restaurant!!! Must try

Dangal provided a fully vegetarian evening buffet for our wedding over in Fife. In the runup to the wedding, they were very helpful and responsive in dealing with our many queries and in choosing the menu. On the day, the food was all really excellent, and our guests were all really impressed with it. If you're looking for Indian event catering, I would recommend Dangal very strongly!

We stopped in for pakora on our way home, (8.30 ish on a Sunday night!) best pakora ever, friendly staff, quick, very clean inside, inviting ambience. Four stars only cos we weren't there for a full meal, we want to come back!

A nice find recommended by our taxie driver. Very tasty and well presented. Stop by if your heading into town.

This is the second time we have ordered a take away from here. The first time the food was cold but nice once reheated. We decided to give it another try tonight and unfortunately it was the same. We ordered at 7.15 and the food didn’t arrive till 8.45. When it did eventually arrive it was not even warm to the touch and soggy from being in the bag so long. I really hate to leave bad reviews as people are always so quick to complain and not compliment. But when we called to inform the restaurant they said we could only get a refund if someone came and collected the food or they could get more food to us which would take a further 20 minutes. Neither of these options were ideal as we had young children in bed and expected to be eating over an hour previous. They also stated they were not busy tonight so I am unsure why this is a persistent issue.

Please don’t order from here. Ordered the Tandoori chicken tonight and it turned up raw.

This hidden gem was just down the road from our accommodation and we were so pleased to have found it! We had the butter chicken with garlic naan and the lamb korma with basmati rice. Both portions were very generous, we struggled to finish it all! Both the butter chicken and lamb korma were so delicious and flavoursome, it was the perfect warm meal after a long cold day in Edinburgh. The spice was not too hot, a great balance of flavour and heat. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and made the environment very welcoming. Would definitely return!

Today, we ordered from this restaurant at our hotel. We had palak paneer, dal, naan, and paneer kulcha. Here are a few points worth mentioning: 1. The delivery time was just 20-30 minutes, which is impressively quick. 2. The food arrived piping hot and well-packed. 3. Hygiene standards were clearly maintained. 4. As for the taste, the food was exceptionally delicious and mouth-watering, with the perfect level of spice. The texture and flavor of the dal were reminiscent of traditional Indian dhabas. 5. The naan and kulcha were perfectly baked and very flavorful. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Recently the quality of the food reduced not like when they first started. and also there has been a persistent problem with their app, it applies the discount but it charges the full amount when making the payment through Apple Pay. You don’t usually notice this but end up paying more.

Chicken tikka was dry and chewy. Didn't like it at all as it wasn't fresh.

Tasty food with Good ambience. The service is really good, also food comes in good big portions. Highly recommend this place.

We have just ordered a korma and chilli chicken from this restaurant as I take out Getting home the korma was just chicken in a watery and had no taste it was the worst korma I’ve ever had my partner had chilli chicken which was just a tomato sauce with a load of chilli’s in and was so hot we could not eat it I will never recommend or go back it was the worst curry I’ve had

Visited here on 22nd November 23. There was a good variety of dishes to choose from on the menu. The food was well presented and delicious, very reasonably priced and good size portions. Staff were friendly and very welcoming. Definitely recommend.

I would like to appreciate all the staffs who took my order and prepare my food yesterday night at the last moment. I came from a tour after a whole day and came to the restaurant at almost closing time. Still they took my order without making it any delay and prepared the food very tastefully. The quality and quantity, both were perfect to me. I took pulao rice, chicken curry, Vindi vaji(I might not be writing the exact name but I showed them the menu), and the taste was awesome. I will definitely come again to this restaurant whenever I will be coming to Edinburgh. Thank you so much.

We absolutely loved it here! Habib, our server, was excellent. He was so kind toward our baby girl and was very attentive throughout our whole experience. The food was excellent. We got the madras, chicken tikka masala, garlic chili naan, regular naan, and rice. All of it was delicious, freshly made, and reasonably priced. We can’t wait to come back. :)

I am almost ordering 3-4 times in a week as this became my favorite restaurant. Great, tasty and hygienic food. Also, restaurant owner is very nice, polite and cooperative. Highly recommended if are looking for good Indian food.

I had the lamb kolhapuri and it was excellent! The lamb was very soft and the sauce was extremely flavourful. The spice level was also prefect (medium) - just spicy enough to tolerate. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Costorphine. The manager Habib is a very lovely lad, always been given a 5 star service. Food is very authentic and it tastes fresh all the times. Definitely recommend it to everybody if you want to experience something different to what you are used to!

they charge up £10 extra when we confronted they said different answer each time and wouldn’t even refund us very rude manager basically told us to get lost and that they will not pay us back anything please see the bill before paying
