Delicious food, arrived on time

It was late, the batter was dark brown and soggy, the fish left my friend feeling icky after and the sausage it was just old. Chips burnt and definitely sat there for a while. Will not be ordering again.

Thought we would give Dane Valley a try after seeing the reviews. Unfortunately after spending £26 the food that was delivered was dry and over cooked. The batter was so dark it was boarding on burnt. It looked like it had all been warmed up twice.

loved the food and lived the fact they have proper chips but unfortunately the order was incorrect and as I didn't take a picture there is nothing to be done. it's a same as its very nice food. hopefully just a one off mistake

Chips were very soggy. Battered sausage was barely battered. Unusual for Dane Valley as usually great quality food. Delivery was very quick.

Fish overcooked batter very dark bordering on burnt chips obviously reheated will not use again

Listing items on the menu as vegan when they aren’t!! Everything is cooked in the same fryers as the fish and meat so not only is this an ethical issue it’s also an allergen one. I confronted the manager about this and he simply replied with “well it’s meat free” (even though it technically isn’t) and “I tell customers” which is a blatant lie and doesn’t account for the online/delivery orders they will get if people order this. Reported to health and food standards so they better change it or I’ll be taking the matter further.

We were a little late from the seaside and really wanted to eat fish and chips on our way back to London. Called in to ask if they were open, although it was closing time. The kind lady said that they were closing but will accommodate us. That was really appreciated and we got to enjoy the best fish and chips take away in town. I would certainly recommend this place if you are visiting botany bay.

Good food, delivered hot and early.

No salt and vinegar on the chips. Paper soaked in grease. Haddock was terrible, worst I’ve ever had. Taste off and was so over cooked, It was not edible. It tasted like extremely old stock fried to high temperatures in an attempt to keep it safe. I have tried this place twice. Once was okay, not amazing. Second was terrible. Never again.

Fantastic food. Always fast delivery. Only chip shop we use as never disappointed.

Never in my life have I had food this bad. Everything was reheated. The pie was like a bullet and completely inedible. The fish was soggy. The batter was disgusting. When I called to complain I was told everything was freshly cooked and it was condensation that made the fish inedible. It was clearly all reheated. Then I was insulted by being offered 50% off my next order. Like I’ll ever be going back there. Over priced and very low quality. Avoid this chip shop.

Worst fish and chips I have ever had, fish was black and like rock very over cooked, chips were soggy and hardly any, curry sauce was as runny as water. The one star is purely for the battered Mars bar and snickers. Very up-happy won’t be returning or recommending.

Possibly the worse chips I've ever tasted to be honest. Kids wouldn't touch them, brown ish in colour and smell like old oil

The crematorium must have cooked this fish and chips. Honestly having read so many of the reviews about it being so great I thought it was safe to order from here. If you like triple fried fish and day old hard chips this is the place for you. The batter is pretty much all that’s left of the plaice and the cod (both large) wasn’t much better. Very disappointing.

We have used this place for years but now we will never go back. Last week we ordered fish and chips for family who were visiting. It was disgusting. When I complained, I was told I could have 2 kebabs to make up for it. I have just rang to order them but was told that we hadn't returned the food last week. It was disposed that evening and they didnt say anything about returning it last week. The conversation was contrived and unhelpful. Very disappointing and annoying with the response. Obviously they have avoided any acceptance of how bad it was. Frankly they don't value long standing customers.

would of given a 5 star for food but the chips were not that hot and very greasy

Ordered large cod and chips and a few other bits cost was cheap chips were stale and tasted awful as for the large cod it was so small and very greasy would not recommend this place

Chips where horrible the sausage in batter was cheap sausage I called and asked for fresh batter they clearly just dropped one already cooked back in awful place avoid it

Greasy overcooked fish and the chips were also overcooked and soggy. Ordered large rock but was small. Won't be ordering from here again.

We are loyal customers here and have been for the past year and NEVER had any issues. Although todays order was awful. The chips were over cooked & the fish was in a pool off grease which made it inedible, the other portion of chips were undercooked and hard in the middle. Extremely disappointed as we’ve never had any problems from here but that was awful.

Dane valley is my no1 favourite fish a chip shop, ever since i was little girl we would order all the time, food is always delicious and amazing, delivery is on time everytime, now im all grown up and sharing tastey food with my children and they absolutely love it, always asking to have a takeaway instead of my cooking 😆 thankyou dane valley for helping me share your wonderful food with my little ones from my childhood 😊😊

Food delivered promptly but I've one comment and that's the portion size of the chips. I'd ordered 'small portion' but hardly had room for the fish piece and had to throw away a lot of the chips as too many. I Hate to think what the large portion was like. I don't like throwing away food but had no choice!!
